This is supposed to be a clinic for women's health and yet they do everything in their power to dissuade from getting s t d testing. I was once told eleven times buy three different people that my insurance might not cover the cost. Every time I want to have this done i have to repeat over and over ' insurance will pay for it if you submit it correctly. I have medicare. I have the original traditional medicare, not an advantage plan. They will pay for anything that is medically necessary. Just submit it correctly and there won't be any problems!' Usually they get me out the door without actually doing it. They say they're going to, but then the appointment is over and it hasn't been done and they aren't sending me over to the person who does that, they're sending me out. I have to insist to get it done, and it's always been paid for by medicare, but this last time it wasn't because they didn't submit it correctly, So now I can't get lab work from any doctor who tries to send me to labcor because I have a balance of almost three hundred dollars. No one ever there at women's health cares. The last person that I spoke with told me to tell them the code. I don't know billing codes! This is ridiculous. They are not motivated to get medicare to pay because the balance isn't owed to them, it's owed to labcorp. They should care that a patient of theirs of over twenty years needs this to be taken care of, but they don't. Please forgive my typos. Dr. Brown is the most inconsiderate condescending physician I have ever met. None of my problems were actually heard and just wanted to cover symptoms with birth control which was pushed pretty hard. Dr. Brown did not listen to me and my issues and constantly made me feel stupid when I brought up research I had seen or questions I had. And then they charged my card for an amount more than agreed upon and could not prove they notified me. Checked in Online, signed in when I got to the office, waited for over an hour and when I asked if I was going to be seen soon they said they would have to reschedule me because they didn't know I checked in. She said they have one persons sticker with name Dr seeing and arrival time and nobody else in the waiting area so CLEARLY my sticker is with someone else's file. They have 2 locations, one in north copper and one on south copper. Same doctors just 2 locations. I came to this location to see my GYN since her north office was booked a month ahead. This office is located on the second floor above the asian restaurant in the corner. You kinda have to go towards the back of the building to go into the doors but you can park anywhere there is parking. Once you park you will see signs, pass the doors there are some stairs you can take or use the elevator. Once you get to the second floor the office is located to the left of the stairs/elevator. Once inside is pretty basic waiting room, chairs, magazines etc. The front desk staff both times I went were nice and made me feel welcome. Once they called me they bring me back and take my height and weight. The patient rooms are simple, you got your bed, the sink, the cabinets with all the special equipment etc. There is a TV playing a slide show with all the doctors in the practice and a bio next to their picture, it gives also gives the hours of operations, relays announcements etc. There is a half way with a chair on the other side so you can undress with some privacy and if you bring someone with you to the appointment they can sit in that chair by brining it over. I recently switched to a provider in this office and it is a different experience compared to the previous provider I was with in another city. So far my experience coming here has been positive and I hope it continues to be that way. read more

TL;DR: This office is unprofessional and disorganized. I tried to transfer my high-risk pregnancy care here, followed the instructions given by their own staff, and still had my appointment canceled the day before due to their incompetence. The staff is rude, unhelpful, and unwilling to take responsibility for their mistakes. If you're pregnant--especially high-risk--go elsewhere. I was planning to transfer my prenatal care to this office after moving to Arlington, based on all the great reviews. However, my experience has been nothing short of frustrating and unprofessional. Before my move, I called to start the process of transferring my high-risk pregnancy care. It took days to get a response, but when I finally spoke with a staff member, she was very friendly and helped me set up an appointment--after canceling the one I had made online since they don't allow pregnancy appointments to be booked that way. No problem. She assured me that, since I was transferring from another OB/GYN, she'd schedule me for a sooner appointment--a consultation to establish a plan of care, and I was told to bring my medical records to the appointment. Flash forward weeks later, the day before my appointment, I get a call from a very rude and condescending staff member telling me they're canceling my appointment because I "should" have called first (which I did) and should have submitted my records beforehand. Apparently, I was supposed to sign a form, send my records over in advance, and wait for the doctor to review them before I could even be scheduled. I explained that I had booked this appointment over the phone with another staff member, following her exact instructions, and that no one had told me any of this. They had weeks to inform me of their process, yet they waited until the day before my appointment to cancel on me--completely disregarding the fact that I have a high-risk pregnancy and now have to scramble to find care. Rather than try to fix the situation, the woman on the phone essentially told me Oh well and left me hanging. If this office can't even get on the same page about how to schedule an appointment, how can I trust them with my pregnancy? I refuse to put my care in the hands of an office that is this disorganized and dismissive. I would rather drive two hours back to my previous provider than deal with this unprofessional mess. I canceled THW, but won't be dropped until September 1st. Guess I can just deal with extreme perimenopause symptoms with no care for another month. Dr. Maya K. believes in science and not in the well-being of her patients. I was told that my insurance doesn't cover annual Pap smears over a certain age and that was not true. What was true is that she did not believe due to science that they are required every year even after I explained my family history to her. She brushed my health concerns off and refused to discuss in addition to adding a letter in the system that I am to no longer visit a women's health group because I questioned her belief. Prior to this I requested a panel of testing during my well women's visit and she requested a separate panel which cost me hundreds of unnecessary dollars because it was not coded the way it was supposed to be. I have never had an insurance bill over $100 and since leaving women's health group under this doctor I haven't had another bill this high either. If you're looking for a doctor, who's concerned about your well-being, who listens to your concerns, and acts as an upstanding doctor should this is not the doctor for you. read more

I dread going because doctors visits are usually long; however, I filled all my paperwork out online, waited approximately 10 months and was back in my car within 30 minutes. After seeing an OBGYN for 10 years that I felt didn't want to bother with me after she diagnosed me with fibroids, it was advised by a young lady I knew at the time to make an appt with Dr Jessica Brown.  My first appt with Dr Brown was awkward to say the least.  She actually walked into the exam room and said "Oh, this isn't the room I meant to come into".  Um ok.  She stays anyway and as you can already guess she isn't paying attention to me or what I'm saying. I tell her I have fibroids, I want to know what my options are since I still want to have kids, and I felt like my previous OBGYN wasn't providing advice on a treatment path for me.  Dr. Brown told me to get an MRI so we can better see the fibroids.  When she got up to leave she said "Now, on to the room I meant to go into".  I went ahead and got the MRI. A couple of weeks after the MRI, I made a follow up appt with Dr. Brown.  The second visit she walked into the exam room with a frown on her face and asked me what was the point of the MRI.  I told her she advised I get one.  And she asked me "But why"? So explained why I was seeing her, like I did on the first visit in which she was not paying attention to me.  She then told me that I was too old.  Wow, I'm only 42, I can still have kids.  I told her that and she told me that she would give me a myomectomy is I were in my 20's or 30's, but being in my 40's, she would just give me a hysterectomy.  I kid you not.  I told her I have a right to a myomectomy if I so choose and that's what I wanted.  I wasn't aware forced sterilization was still a thing these days.   She told me she would refer me to a specialist as she didn't have time to do one on me.  Fine with me.  So after not hearing from anyone as to the referral for about 2 weeks, it should not have taken that long, I called her nurse.  The nurse called me back and told me that Dr. Brown wanted to see me again.  So I made another appointment, and when I tell you that woman belittled me and was so uncaring and unprofessional it was not even funny.  She told me I was too old again, and proceeded to go over all the birth defects a baby can have with an older mom, she told me that babies will wake me up at all hours of the night and someone my age would not be able to handle that.  She said she would never have babies in her 40's, but thankfully she doesn't have to worry about that, she already has kids.  I was like ma'am, if you are finished, I would like my referral now.  Yes, Dr. Brown called me back in for an exam to belittle me and tell me I am unworthy of being a mother.  Also I think to get more money from my insurance.  That appt was a waste of time and unnecessary.  After that appt, I  had to keep bugging her nurse until Dr Brown finally sent the referral to a surgeon in Dallas, who told me that having a baby at 42 is not crazy.  She approved the myomectomy and the surgery was a success.  No forced sterilization like Dr Brown was suggesting.  Also I got another opinion from another OBGYN of color who had her first baby in her 40's and saw no reason why I cannot.  I'm not sure what Dr. Brown is tripping on but she needs to come down off her high horse and stop talking to women like we are idiots.  I see the other reviews with the same complaints, I'm not sure how she picks and chooses who she is going to berate, but she needs to cease and desist with all that.  I spoke to the office manager, Carla, about this, but something tells me that it wasn't effective.  I don't think Dr. Brown will be counseled, disciplined, or whatever.  There will be many more reviews after mine with the same encounter with her. read more

I made an appointment online 3 weeks ago to see Dr. Joy Carter for an annual exam that would have taken place today. I need this exam so I can send the results to my fertility doctor and begin fertility treatments. Yesterday less than 24 hours from my appointment I received a call from the office asking what my exam will be. I said the annual exam. She told me that I made an appointment with the "wrong" doctor and that I would need to schedule with Dr. Jessica Brown because I had already switched doctors and I couldn't switch again. The first time I went here I saw Dr. Joy Carter. The second time I went there I saw Dr. Jessica Brown because I was going to be out of state and she had an appointment available that better suited me. I didn't realize that this was "switching" doctors. I didn't have my calendar with me so I told the lady that I would look at my schedule and make my new appointment online. I looked at Dr. Jessica Brown's next appointment. Mid-October! 5 WEEKS!!!!! I am so furious! I just waited 3 weeks for this one and now another 5! Now I have to readjust my upcoming fertility appointment because I was supposed to have an appointment in a couple of weeks to begin. This was the last exam that I needed to get to send to my fertility doctor. The lady who called told me that I scheduled with the "wrong" doctor. Well, why didn't anyone call me and let me know sometime during the last 3 weeks instead of canceling it 24 hours before my appointment was to take place? Why not just let me keep the appointment since it was the next day and I had scheduled other things around it? Also, when I booked online there was nothing mentioned about not being able to switch doctors. Instead there was a pull down menu to select a doctor. Now I will be 2 months behind when I thought I was going to begin fertility treatments soon. This is a warning to anyone who books online. There is a pull down menu of doctors, but nothing mentioned about not switching doctors. You might get a cancellation the day before your appointment after you spent weeks waiting for it. read more

Went in for my 36 week baby pregnancy appointment and was denied and told to reschedule because I couldn't pay 200 upfront! I'm really upset about it because I'm already struggling being pregnant and single and working when I can. It's just crazy because I'm 36 weeks and could go into labor at any moment and for them to turn me away just pissed me off... also they do not send out reminders for upcoming appointments so if you miss your appointment your screwed until you call them! Quite ashamed, I really liked Dr. Puffer on my first visit to this office. I do not know why this 2nd appointment was cancelled, I hope she and her family are ok. My 1st appointment with Dr. Puffer was a good visit, she was very friendly and likable. She told me I needed a 3 month follow up visit, which I scheduled on line on 8/03. On 8/05, I received a message on their scheduling portal that it was cancelled and I needed to call to rescheduled. (What's the point on online scheduling if you have to call in anyway!??) I neglected to call and reschedule (I also erased my appointment on my calendar so I do not know what day and time I had scheduled the appointment for.) On Friday Sept. 24th at 9:38 am, I received a text asking to confirm an appointment I did not know I had, at 8:45am on 9/29. (I do not typically schedule appointments that early!) So was this the appointment I originally scheduled or did they do this on their own after telling me it was cancelled. Don't know! I had to work that day and it was a push for me to get there at 8:45 and hope I would be out in time to be at work. While I was on the elevator that morning at precisely 8:44am. I got a phone call cancelling my 8:45am appointment. I walked in the office on my watch/phone and told them I was already here and that this was a real inconvenience for me and I need to see another Dr. They went to the back and came back out front only to tell me there was no other doctor available for me to see. I told them this is only my second time here and both times I have been treated disrespectfully and I probably will not be back. They said sorry, and that was IT. Not even a phone call later to apologize. This is not the kind of customer service I was expecting. Guess I will be finding another OB office with better customer service. I only went to this location once last year. I made an appointment prior to coming and one receptionist was aware that I had an ultrasound from a different clinic for free. She told me I needed to do another ultrasound before I schedule an appointment with Dr. Carter. Well when my husband and I got there, another receptionist told us we didn't need to do another ultrasound and said that we would be spending a lot of money for this one. She kept saying it twice and I asked her how much would it be. She told me she couldn't tell me how much. After arguing and confirming information that I was still going to do the ultrasound with them, the lady then told me that its $100 after insurance. It doesn't make sense to not tell me the cost of the ultrasound before I go thru the ultrasound. It's a sign that this place is all about money. I would have gone through with the ultrasound anyway knowing that it was that much beforehand. And I noticed they are friendly to certain people, not brand new people. read more

Probably okay if you're a model patient, but if you're looking for any kind of accommodations, I recommend trying elsewhere. My care here was abruptly terminated due to my PTSD requiring accommodations that Dr. Sheri Puffer eventually determined she was unable to provide. Wishing me luck 'finding a provider who could better meet my needs' would have been better accompanied by a referral, or at least a search term, but I suppose luck is something. If even an ob/gyn doesn't know where to find a provider who can deal with patients who have experienced trauma, then the 30 days of emergency care she offers as a consolation prize is not especially reassuring. The wait time was almost an hour, but I suppose they were moving as quickly as they could, since I had maybe three minutes to pull my sobs together before they came to get the room ready for the next patient. She DID make extra sure I knew she couldn't help me by mailing me a paper copy of the patient termination announcement two weeks after the portal message though, so points for clarity of communication. Long post! 01/14/2022 After having issues with a previous ob I decided to give Womens Health a try. I loved it right off the bat. Dr. Brown is an amazing doctor! I loved her MA Dominique as well! Never had an issue. When I came to Womens health I only had BCBS Federal for insurance. I later got Amerigroup (Pregnancy Medicaid) as a secondary. Everything was going smoothly. After having my baby in Sept. I saw my doctor twice for my after birth checkup before she went out on maternity leave. Fast forward to this past week (01/14/2022.) I am having some issues with postpartum depression and because Dr. Brown is out I had to be seen by Dr. Joy Carter. When I got to the office I was informed that they would no longer see me as a patient because they had Medicaid as my primary (I'm sure for monetary reasons) instead of BCBS. Medicaid pays next to nothing for visits once your pregnancy visits are over these were the EXACT words of the doctor by the way. Again I thought I had nothing to worry about because I have BCBS. Supposedly they can't change it back to how it previously was. After waiting an hour finally Dr. Carter came in. She started asking me questions about what was going on and I began to emotionally (I'm in full blown tears) tell her. So not only am I in a z panic about my mental health but also about not being able to be treated. I also explained the situation about my insurance and how I didn't understand why a postpartum visit wouldn't be covered. This "licensed professional" said to me "your baby (who is 3 months old) is to old for you to have postpartum." You read that right! Basically it wasn't profitable for me to have postpartum THERE but she could refer me to someone else lol. This is why so many women (especially women of color!) are having mental breakdowns after childbirth because doctors are no longer concerned with healing they are more concerned with their profit! Dr. Carter I pray you never need compassion from another person and they treat you as poorly. God bless you. ***Today I found out that even though she sent me packing with absolutely NO help they billed my BCBS Fed for "therapeutic services" but when I was there they claimed that I could only use my Medicaid which is why they couldn't service me. If you want to find an OBGYN that actually cares about your health and communicates back when you have questions or your awaiting test results, don't go to Dr. Nagrani. They ran blood work for me which showed abnormal levels and she never communicated any way on how to help that. I told her I was having bad pain and she just suggested BC without doing any type of physical exam. I messaged saying how I was wanting a solution to figure out where the pain was coming from and two weeks later her nurse finally messaged me back asking if I wanted a sono. I got scheduled through an imaging place and they said I had fibroids. I asked follow up questions and never heard back. The portal says they will message in three business days, that's a joke. I used to be a teacher and was required to respond to all emails that same day. Doctors dealing with your health and their staff I understand are very busy but if teachers have to respond in a timely fashion, doctors dealing with your health should as well. I would not recommend this practice to any woman. read more

My doctor is at the North Arlington location. I only come to the South location for shots and have been since they've opened. It's clean. Wait time is a bit longer than other clinics. The nurses I've encountered have always been very nice and professional. It's always the front desk staff. Very attitude-y and come across somewhat rude. Yes, she does her job, but she puts people off, and also really needs to work on being more courteous. It doesn't kill to be kind. I'm a very loyal customer to many businesses, but the reception is a representation of your business. If I don't feel welcomed, I'm going to consider bringing my business elsewhere. Today might be the day that is the last straw to break the camels back. I was charged $15 for a urine test because I was 1 day late (calendar wise, not days wise) on getting my depot shot. Seriously?! I was never informed of this type of practice within all my years of getting the depot. At this clinic or any other as a matter of fact. If I had known, I would have brought my own pregnancy test which would have cost less than half the price. The only reason I get the depot is for my iron deficiency anemia. This last experience left a bad taste. This is the dfw, there's a gazillion other women's clinic to chose from that may treat me more personably. Needless to say, I will be finding a new clinic. read more
