After a few months, I decided to check out PT based on a friend's suggestion. My physical therapist, Elyse, was phenomenal. She's knowledgeable and approachable, and was happy to answer the *endless* questions I had about my exercises, how strengthening works, preventative measures, etc. She was incredibly patient with me, working to explain everything because it was essentially my first time doing rigorous exercise, and reassuring me that I would be able to walk and run like normal again! I started out limping and one month later, I was jogging across the room. What I found most helpful at BSM was that Elyse would model the exercises first, correct me as I was doing them, and then emailed me a list of what to do at home. Not only was my PT professional, but she was also kind, warm, and friendly. Our sessions never felt burdensome because we chatted throughout them; Elyse is very good at building rapport! I highly recommend BSM for its great staff and customer service skills, as well as care during COVID. My successful healing definitely wouldn't have been possible without PT and Elyse's encouragement and guidance!

The volume of patients in this practice is far beyond the capacity of the space and the staff. It's not a calming or healing place at all and you will feel like you are just a body part on a conveyor belt. You cannot be confident that your provider will respond to your outreach at all, let alone in a timely manner. So much of recovery is about not just body, but mind and spirit. People have to feel seen, cared for, and humanized in order to heal. This company's business model is fundamentally in conflict with those objectives.

I came to Divya to address a women's health issue which is not easy to talk about with a stranger so I was initially nervous, but I immediately felt at ease with Divya. She made me feel so supported that I always felt I could share with her without fear of being judged. Margarita is one of the most creative physical therapists I have ever met! You will not end up doing your standard 3 sets of 10 with Margarita - she is inventive and always thinks of new ways to challenge me. I had wanted to do a gait analysis and looked at private companies, which charge a few hundred dollars for this (and likely then try to sell you on a gym membership, which I didn't want/need). Instead, I did maybe 10 or 12 sessions at Outback, and we first looked at what was causing my foot issues: tight and weak hips, tight calves and poor ankle stability, and I got functional exercises (mostly with a resistance band) to work on those. Toward the end of my treatment, my therapist did record me running on a treadmill at the office in slow motion (on my phone so I could keep the videos) and broke down a few mechanics I could be mindful of. It's been about 18 months since i wrapped up there, and I could be better about continuing the exercises, but I know I can always go back to them if my foot starts to flare up. I super appreciated the holistic approach to my care, and also how we could modify, change, or discard exercises that I was having trouble with or not seeing benefits from. A steal to do this for my insurance copay each time!

As a forty-something probably-too-sedentary female body owner, it's great that I can talk to Maegen about anything body related. Her office was where I first learned that my knee, hip, and back pain would actually improve if I rolled out my IT band more. I learned that one of the best predictors of falls as people get older is challenges with balance, so we included some exercises for strength and balance to help distribute weight better during movement. My son was also having challenges with pain and fatigue while walking. She worked with him, chatting about Minecraft or whatever he was interested in talking about, and gave us some exercises that are easy for him to do. I haven't heard any more complaints. I also learned that PT in Massachusetts doesn't need a referral, so while her practice doesn't process insurance claims with your insurance company, her documentation is great, and I have had every single claim to my policy that covers out-of-network providers approved on the first try (YMMV based on your insurance). So while I love my PCP, if it's anything remotely muscle or movement related, I just go straight to Maegen. Maegan offers a number of methods, including massage, dry needling, traditional PT, and whatever muscle-whisperer magic she does in between. It's all very easy but works so well. Maegen is super motivating, and Union Square PT is a treasure of Union Square.

It was a tight deadline and a big ask. I told him that I was so discouraged at the thought that it might not be possible to do with the pain I was experiencing. He took his time to evaluate my lower body range of motion, strength, and flexibility and quickly identified an imbalance in my hip strength/mobility. Paul reassured me that -while it would be a lot of time, effort, and dedication- he believed his team could help. I am SO grateful that they did. I spent a lot of early mornings with his tremendous team who slowly helped build my strength and corrected my form. The team at Beantown physio care about each patient individually, and it shows. However, during my appointment and after listing all my symptoms and how gynecologists have told my I have suspected endometriosis, I was told by Kristine that I don't have that during muscle testing. I was shocked at such a bold statement ONLY because it went against the "I am not a doctor" statement I was told. I convinced myself this woman had a strong intuition until my chronic pelvic pain did not subside from the tinctures I was given. Which ... they weren't supposed to. It was only something western medicine could handle. Here I am two weeks post op with all endometriosis excised from my bladder and deep from my pelvis. So, Yes. I did have that. But the point of this review is that I was told I didn't have something..... when I absolutely did. It did not align with the " I am not a doctor" which I was told twice. If you are not a doctor, then how come I am being told I don't have something? Everything was very speedy and rushed... but I am assuming that is all because routine is the same for every person. Listen to symptoms, muscle test, and send home with 2-3 tinctures/ vitamins. Waiting for the western medicine and natural path world to align and become one instead of being so separate from each other!!! Hopefully one day. I see reviews that this practice is a scam, I think it is in some ways, but for some people (especially when their symptoms are mental, body is low in vitamins, contains parasites, etc. ) it could really help but it seems to be an expensive guessing game that is for sure.

Actually a very natural remedy did recently, but nothing that was done during this appointment or following. I am not sure how what she does helps people with digestive issues and I don't think she should be advertising that she can help with that. I also don't think she should be ripping people off with such a high initial price point when there are no guarantees and what she does is pretty hard to believe as legitimate. I really wanted this to work but I warn people to not go and use your best judgement. As desperate as you might be, this is too good sounding to be true and effective.
