We ordered a veggie sushi sandwich ($14) for me, which featured a few veggies with rice wrapped up in soy paper; New York Strip ($25) for him, which was a bowl with steak, roasted potatoes and other things; Sweet Plantains ($6) for the table, with cream and cotija. We both got a Jarritos each. Service was timely. Everything was creative. I never had a sushi sandwich. It tasted pretty good too. I wasn't really feeling well and couldn't enjoy it as much as I intended to, but it was nevertheless yummy and unique. My sandwich came with a side of puffed up chips (I actually don't know what they are called). The plantains were also very good. I am glad we ordered them as a side because it was a good side to eat with our meals. Overall no complaints, I would eat there again.

The taco food stall had some Mac and cheese that I really wanted, but he was so overwhelmed with making a large order with only one person helping him that he literally told me to come back in 30 minutes to place my order. I ended up ordering the Pimento Grilled Cheese Sandwich from the burger place, where the guy (working solo) told me it would take about 30 minutes before it would be ready. We were in no rush, and it was DEFINITELY worth the wait!! The ooey gooey cheese paired with perfectly browned Texas toast satisfied my hunger after a long day of hiking and window shopping. My husband ordered the Paneer Kati Roll + Mango Lassi from the Indian food stall. He liked the roll, however we both decided that the lassi was average at best. Additionally, they served it with ice which was a huge disappointment (**being that my husband is from India, we have standards regarding Indian food). I'm giving 4 stars because the overall atmosphere of this food hall was not the best... Definitely NOT enough seating... They didn't seem to have anyone on staff taking care of the place, so the two tables that were empty when we arrived were extremely dirty (we cleaned one ourselves). They also didn't have napkins readily available and only 2 individual restrooms, despite having a bar in the back. Also, it was SO DARK inside... Scarce lighting which was not very pleasant or welcoming, especially since the sun was shining brightly outside. There is an outdoor patio, which is great, however because the weather was nice it was completely full. Final thoughts: this is a great place to grab lunch or dinner with a group of friends, especially if no one can agree on where to go. There's a variety of options and something for everyone to enjoy!

The tables and seats are arranged cafeteria-style, with all the vendors surrounding the dining area. It wasn't too busy around 12 PM, so I walked around the different stalls to get a feel for what this food court had to offer. Thankfully, I didn't have to think too hard about what to try because one of my friends is basically a Flushing food expert, despite not even living in NYC. While there were at least 15 vendors, we only grabbed a few bites from three of them since these were my friend's favorites: - Fat Cat Flatbread 胖猫锅盔 - Liang Pi Wang 凉皮王 - Xie Bao Crabhouse 蟹宝 The food came out pretty quickly after ordering, and these three stalls awakened our stomachs in preparation for more delicious food to come. Overall, I liked that New York Food Court had plenty of seating and felt much more lowkey compared to the crowded and overwhelming New World Food court nearby. The food court has no reception and can get very packed, especially since this place gets talked about a lot. The food court also has cool vending machines with blind boxes that are sometimes hard to find which is nice. If you live here it's pretty convenient place to stop by.

Narang is a developer while Ginnetti is a restauranteur that also owns the cocktail bar 116 Crown as well as the sandwich shop Meat & Co. The old industrial building which now houses the market was the WWI-era Marlin Arms factory. Now known as East Rock Center, Narang's family has owned the building for over three decades. He brought in a few businesses over the years to fill the space, including East Rock Brewing Company, mActivity Fitness Center, and Rebel Hair Salon. Unfortunately, Narang could not find the right tenant for the full-service restaurant he envisioned. He then teamed up with Ginnetti to open New Haven's first food hall: a collaboration between local chefs and entrepreneurs. As of this writing, the food hall's current tenants are Meat & Co., Ground Up Coffee, Ozzy's Apizza, Rockfish Maki Bar, Don Rene Taqueria, and Rick's Bar. My older son and I recently stopped at East Rock Market for lunch. I had been meaning to stop by for some time. East Rock Market is a lot smaller than other food halls that I've been to in the past, but all of the tenants here are fantastic. There are so many great options for consumers: New Haven-style pizza, tacos, sushi, gourmet sandwiches, specialty coffee, hand-rolled bagels, and craft cocktails. There's also plenty of seating (both inside and outside). You can even order food to go and take it with you to East Rock Brewing, which is conveniently located next door.
