Wonder Sweets Bakery opened November 5th on the second floor of the Wellington Mall across from the CMX Movie Theatre. it is owned by Venezuela pastry chef Careli Bello who started out with a career in architecture. Five years ago when she moved to Florida where she made a care er change and she began her baking business by creating custom cakes in her home kitchen. From there she was able to expand out to opening her own shop serving all kinds of baked treats. The adorable pink and white bakery was built by Careli's husband Kevin who also built the selfie booths at So Selfless Selfie Studios in the mall. The bakery cases are stocked with cookies, cakepops, alfajores, cupcakes, pavlova, bread pudding, tres leches, strawberry shortcake, quick breads and volcano cakes made with Venezuelan chocolate. They also sell custom cakes with some examples on display made out of styrofoam. I believe my friend learned about this bakery from Instagram and wanted to check it out while we were in the mall. Although we both really wanted to like our desserts my friend found her cupcakes dry and my cannoli shell was soggy. Cannoli are best when piped fresh and I should have known when they took one already made out of the refrigerator case. The bakery is super cute and I would consider stopping by again. Next time I would try the volcano cake which is one of their best sellers. read more

We ordered a birthday cake for my daughter's 4th birthday. Communication regarding the order was all done via text and we anticipated picking up the cake at noon the day of her birthday. We were not asked for a deposit at any time point while making the order and she even confirmed that they would see us on the 25th around noon the day of to get the cake. The night before I received a text at 5:22pm Asking for a deposit. Unfortunately I was in an emergency procedure and could not look at my phone. They did not make the cake and then blamed it on me for not calling to see if they wanted a deposit. I would use caution when ordering from here read more

This is such a cute little bakery my roommate and I stumbled upon in the Wellington Mall! I got a Nutella and Ferrero cookie, which was just the perfect amount of softness for a cookie and the Ferrero chocolate inside was amazing. The lady at the register was nice and packaged my cookie well as well. I will be returning! read more

Wednesday at 1pm and all the desserts looked amazing!!3 stars for presentation and the place is spotless! The display cases were packed with lots of choices! They all looked amazing! I wondered how they would sell so much with no one in the mall.. (Should have been a red flag for me) I walked the mall and shopped because I couldn't decide what to take home!! Just before I left I decided on the Boston Cream individual pie! I asked if it was fresh. When i got home I opened the box and it was hard as a rock. The custard filling was like shoe leather. I put it in my convection oven to try to freshen it and hopefully soften it.. unfortunately it was beyond stale- it was spoiled. I try never to give a negative review but they need to be honest. I would have bought the Flan or the cheesecake that hopefully were fresh. I'm sure if you special order a cake it must be delicious and beautiful. I wouldn't hesitate to special order because the presentation is beautiful.. They need to only make what they can sell. They had so much in the display case with no foot traffic I should have known better. I will definitely be back and try again but will order something that doesn't go bad after a day or two.. (Flan, Cheesecake, Tres Leches!) I hope they succeed because we definitely need a good quality pastry cafe in the mall! I would give this location 0 stars if I could because they don't even deserve one star. I ordered a cake for a graduation party (paid half the date I ordered), spent a couple of hours designing the cake and flavors, and was told that the cake would be delivered to the restaurant of the party between 12-4pm (5pm being the time of the party). At 4pm the day of the party, my friend told me the restaurant never got a cake delivery. I started Whatsapp messaging and calling over and over to get a response back. Instead, it took 15-20 minutes for them to respond and she only spoke Spanish. After having someone translate for us, she said that she didn't have any workers show up for the day and the cake was no where near ready. Instead of just calling far in advance of issues, I don't actually know what they were planning to do with the cake. Not even a heads up so we could move on. They decided to not contact us and make the entire situation worse. As an "apology", they sent the cake UNFINISHED and sent via an UBER. To make it even worse, the top of the cake was ruined because they didnt even give a box big enough (it was a 2 tiered cake). While I never leave reviews, let alone to small-family owned businesses, this was not only inexcusable, but for a custom cake on a graduation party to not show up and not even notified of issues is hurtful. Don't ever trust these people with special events or any event for that matter. They will not communicate and eventually disappoint you, not to mention the cake tasted terrible. read more
