I can't comment on the food because of the customer service. I flew in and landed pretty late (PBI) so I came here for some food after many hours on a plane. I asked the girl if she could recommend me anything to eat since nothing had any ingredients. She responded by saying 'idk what you like" but constantly added the word 'reyna' which maked me feel like she was being condescending. I don't see why people would be so angry and impatient at someone who doesn't know about Cuban cuisine and simply asking what's good! Finally found an authentic Cuban Bakery in Greenacres! This New location is one of two that I know of in Palm Beach. Located on the Northeast corner of Jog and Melaleuca Lane, they were buzzing with activity. They have a number system and after we pulled off our number from the wheel it was only a short wait until they called us and we placed our orders. I ordered a standard of mine, a Guava and Cheese pastelito, along with a cup of Colada (small cup of concentrated Cuban coffee)! Both my pastry and pastelito were delicious! The pastry crust was nice and flaky, housing the sweet Guava and cheese combo. The coffee was a great pick me up too! Not a pleasant experience. I stopped by to compare the Palm Beach "ambience," and oh, yes, the vibe definitely runs deep into their roots. We stopped in for a light dinner. I ordered a Ham and Cheese Empanada. It was good but it didn't have much ham or cheese inside compared to my wife's Chicken Empanada which was totally full. My friend purchased a velvet cake for me without knowing that it contained cream cheese frosting which I am allergy with. The cake was completely untouched. Before returning to the store, we called in advance to ask if we could exchange it for another cake. The first employee placed us on hold for about five minutes. Then another employee came on the line and confirmed, "Yes, you can bring it in and we will exchange it," while apologizing for her limited English. Based on that confirmation, we thanked her and drove all the way from Gardens back to the store. When we arrived, we were given a completely different answer. The server said she would contact the manager, but we were not allowed to speak with the manager directly. The server communicated with the manager by phone in another language, and then typed a response into Google Translate on her phone to show us: "Once the item leaves the store, it cannot be exchanged." We explained again that we had called beforehand and were clearly told to bring the cake in for an exchange. The server contacted the manager again and then typed the exact same message on her phone--without any further explanation, accountability, or apology for the misinformation we were given over the phone. This situation could and should have been handled properly during the initial call. Had we been told the correct policy, we would not have wasted our time and gas driving back to the store. The lack of clear communication and unwillingness to let us speak directly with a manager made the experience even more frustrating. To make matters worse, the cake was not fresh. It tasted old and dry, and we cannot eat it or give it to anyone. It is going to be thrown away. This was a very disappointing and unprofessional experience. First it's nice to have a Pinecrest Bakery in Palm Beach county. The building used to be Boston Market. I've now been a few times, tried an array of things and like most of it. The guava and guava cheese pastries when hot/warm are amazing. Again, when prepped right they can be one of the best tasting guava pastries in our area. The chicken empanadas are just okay... I've had them 3 times now and each time they are salty. But a tweak in the recipe can fix that. Service is great. Inside and outside is clean. They are open 24 hours! read more

My review is really 3.5 stars. I was torn on how to review. This place is relatively new. We walked in and the woman was washing the floor. The inside was spotless. There is ample seating. We were ordering take out. There was a slight learning curve navigating the menu since it was our first visit. And it was an unplanned stop so I do recommend perusing their website menu beforehand. The staff were so friendly and helpful. It's not very quick for takeout but not terrible. We ordered a few things to try - super Cubano, shredded beef empanada, chicken empanada, and maybe a croquette that was ground beef wrapped in mashed potatoes and deep fried. That brings me to why I didn't give more stars. I can read the descriptions on the menu but when they have everything in glass cases without signs I can't put it all together. I choose my food visually if possible. Signs would be helpful. I felt bad asking her what each thing was in the case. I agree with one of the other reviews in that the food was cold. The super Cubano had too much meat so it didn't get warm and gooey. The shredded beef empanada was fried to perfection but the chicken one was cold in the middle. This place is fairly new and nearly always very busy. That being said, I'm nearly always able to find a spot to park and they have a take a number system to keep things moving and organized inside. I've also found all the staff to be helpful and friendly. The restaurant has a decent amount of seating and is set up simply. It's clearly geared more to take-out than dining in, but you can do either. They've got a TON of Cuban desserts (cakes, pastries, etc) and lots of delicious fried croquettes, papa rellena, and more. They've also got lots of breakfast and lunch sandwich options. Everything we've tried has been good, but I would not say the food is great. There are some other Cuban bakeries in the area that have better tasting food in my opinion, but this shop is very conveniently located and easy in/out so I'll still come here either way. read more

Tasty, freshly made, large enough to share, and oooooh the bread--so fresh so soft with a crispy outter just like you want your bread to be. Let's first say that this place is open 24 hours now. You can get the menu as soon as you pull into a parking space via QR code. Food is served quite promptly. There was a little waiting time, but that is because they make it as you order. I've been in the kitchen and there's no premade food area. This is all made as you order it which is quite nice. I have tried the menu before and and now offer a Cuban bowl which consists of meat chicken, which is your choice a small salad, black beans, white rice, and a perfect seasoning. You can sit inside it's not a luxury restaurant. It's a more or less pick up and go or sit in an open atmosphere which has music playing in the background. This is my go to place for coffee. It's so much better than Starbucks and considerably less money and you get a free smile from the waitress, which is always a good thing. read more

I was very pleased with today's visit. We were in the area and decided to stop by and check them out. As we entered, there was a line but it moved along very quickly. The place was very clean and the lady that took our order was super nice and helpful! They have a great variety of pastries, food, cakes, desserts, and drinks. My husband and I mainly focused in the pastries area. In a large box to go, we ordered 3 guava pastries, 3 guava and cheese pastries, 2 cream cheese pastries, 2 papa rellenas, 1 empanada de ropa vieja, 1 empanada de carne, and a batido de mamey. I was very surprised to have paid less than $40 for all of it. Prices are great and the pastries were delicious. We're definitely returning and may even make this our new bakery place. Wow, visit this bakery if you love fresh, homemade Latin pasties and and savory snacks. It's a pretty large place with a decent amount of tables and chairs. They work on the number system. Take a number and wait to be called. Then you can either take your goodies to go or sit at a table and enjoy them there. On this day the place was really busy, but they had ample staff to serve customers and the ladies kept bringing out trays of fresh baked goods. Occasionally, I come across 4.5 star reviews that make me question the entire system of reviews on Yelp. People, PLEASE! As a proud Cuban man I judge most places serving Cuban food, on one simple metric, the Cuban sandwich. If you can't get that remotely correct, then I have little desire to sample the rest of your wares. The Pinecrest Bakery failed MISERABLY at the Cuban sandwich and, as briefly as I'm able, I'll tell you how: FIRSTLY, this is NOT a Cuban sandwich. The "Cuban sandwich" offered here is a ham and cheese (with apologies to actually well made ham and cheese sandwiches) with ONE slice of deli pork that only Walmart could produce more poorly. The ratio folks, is key to the Cuban sandwich. The Swiss cheese on my sandwich was cold. Not lukewarm, but not melty enough, that I could grapple with. The cheese was COLD. The bread was warmish, though clearly pressed, but not for long enough to heat the interior. To add ultimate insult to this injury, the sandwich was cut in half vertically. I know it's a small thing but, for the love of all that's holy, cut the damn sandwich on the DIAGONAL. It's the very least that could be done if you're passing this off as a Cuban sandwich. My wife and I also sampled the croquettas ,empanada, Yucca and papa rellena. To be fair, the picadillo was tasty but the papa and yucca were cold. The croquettas were warm and passable but certainly not fresh made. When you're a chain, like Pinecrest, you can't cook in small batches as some things should be done. Also in all fairness, we did not try their pasteries, but, I have little interest in trying anything else anywhere that has the nerve to serve this "Cuban sandwich" such as they do. Save your money, there are FAR better places within a stone's throw that aren't chains passing themselves off as "quality". read more
