This is my second visit to Wonder Waffel. WW is a cute place with bright and fun decor. It's a small place, but well organized, so there is ample seating inside. They also have a few places to sit outside. Mike and Marina are a friendly couple who own the place. I ordered the Italian Waffle, which came with a side of pesto and a side of fresh tomatoes, mozzarella cheese, and a balsamic vinaigrette. It was sooooo delicious that I ordered again on my second visit. For dessert, I ordered a scoop of the coconut gelato with caramel sauce and crushed waffle cone on top. Mmmmm, good. WonderWaffel is a cool concept that allows you to design your own waffle creation that includes fruit, candy, sauces, etc. You can also select a pre-designed waffle too and they have gelato and miscellaneous drinks I created my own waffle that included peanut butter, strawberries, mango, Reese's and caramel sauce. It was pretty good! A little dry but not terribly so. The employee who took my order was also very nice and helpful. The decor is also cute (see pics). Wonder waffel it's a pretty hip place and combing gelato and waffles is a 4d chess move. They go above and beyond to make sure their customers enjoy their experience here. I mean look at them drawing my name with a piping bag better than I can with my hands, seriously impressive. I was expecting my waffle to be on the crispy side but it was just soft and fluffy, the cherry filling inside wasn't too sweet so that's a plus. A trip next door to pick up running shoes led to an impromptu stop for waffles. I suppose I could justify a calorie splurge since I was buying exercise shoes. . We shared a sweet waffle stuffed with Nutella, Strawberries, Kiwi, Bananas and a generous shower of powdered sugar. It even came with my name written on the platter using chocolate drizzle. Truth be told, we had tried to visit the pretzel shop just a few doors down only to find that it has since closed. Imagine our delight when we realized that sweet and savory waffles were just a step away. Divine intervention perhaps? Regardless of what brought us here, I'm so glad we stopped. This little waffle shop is perfect for a date, a Coffee meeting, dessert for the kids if they finish their homework, or a last minute 2 PM snack. With plenty of savory options as well as sweet options, we opted for a classic choice and it was big enough for us to share. The environment is very European and gives off an eclectic vibe. There's plenty of seating and it's very IG worthy. They have a Yelp event coming up next week. So heads up to RSVP for that event. We will definitely be back to try some of their other selections. Delightful little place! You order at the counter and if you dine-in, they bring your food to you, on real serve wear and with your name written in chocolate! It is cute and comfortable inside. I stopped in WonderWaffel right before a hair appt. I had limited time and I needed to fill up my belly before sitting in a chair for the next 3 to 4 hours. I didn't particularly want a dessert but the window full of gelato was tempting. I was delighted to learn that they serve some (albeit limited) lunch options. They had a couple of cheese options (mozzarella and American); I went with a grilled American cheese and added ham to my sandwich. Other add ons included bacon and one more that has escaped my memory. They had a couple of dipping options so I opted for the honey mustard. The panini was delicious! I liked the apple pie one, BUT I would suggest one change. The apples are sliced and cold. Try changing them to a warm compote type topping or baked apples. This would really enhance the flavor profile much better then just plain apple slices folded into the waffle. One thing to keep in mind...these desserts will feed two people for sure, no matter which one you get. Could you eat it by yourself? Yes, but is it good for you? Probably not. So I went in and had to give the Italian waffle a try, and let me tell you I left liking savory waffles more than my idea of having them only for breakfast! We sat across from a young lady on her laptop, it's near USF and I could really see this being a meet up place to eat and for a small group study. When you order a cup, they will ask you what flavor of gelato you want and serve a mini cone on the side of your coffee. What a brilliant idea. Yall this waffle place is great. It's cute place to take your date! The waffles are HUGE. The owners are super friendly. They put an ENTIRE kinder bar in my waffle!!!! They definitely do not skimp on quality or quantity! All of their fruits are fresh and their spreads are homemade. I chose a hazelnut spread which tasted amazing. I got a build-your-own-waffle and he even customized it by writing my name on the bottom. They made it look so cute! They offer a stamp card that'll get you a free waffle and on the back, you can collect stamps for drinks as well. I love that they utilize both sides of the card (less waste!). Their smoothies and teas are also made with fresh ingredients. I'm excited to come back and try those next time. We've stalked this place online once we saw the signage put up earlier this year and saw that their grand opening was just two days prior to our visit. We couldn't pass up the opportunity for a little between lunch and dinner snack on Labor Day. There are seven different waffle creations, plus the option to build your own. Plus there is gelato, shakes and various fruit juice to choose from on the menu. I opted for the #2 Waffle: Nutella, Strawberries, Bananas and Oreos and I was not disappointed. My wife went with the #7 cherry bomb, which I didn't think I'd love, but I happily gobbled up the bites she was unable to finish herself. Our only minor gripe was that we would have preferred a traditional vanilla ice cream instead of the vanilla bean that came with it. A nice touch was that they spell your name out on your plate in chocolate or whatever sauce comes with your waffle. A small world story: this is only the second Wonder Waffel location in the U.S. The first location is in Friendswood, Texas, 2 miles from where I grew up and where my parents currently live. Holy Shit!!!! That was fantastical.... mark this as a must try. I had the tropical waffle and the fruit was fresh, and the combination they put together with the sauce was on point. The waffle was not like any normal waffle, it's not thick like a Belgian waffle but not thin like a crepe. It was soft with a slightly crispy outside covered in powdered sugar it was not over powering. I was considered this would be too rich, it wasn't in anyway. These deserts may have been crafted by chefs or bakers because a lot of talent went into preparations and ingredients. Everything was perfect! So I was left with wonder waffel as my only option. But I'm glad I came here. Something about the place has a homey vibe. There's two other tables occupied here and they're both filled with families having very pleasant conversations amongst themselves. I was super surprised to see an ice cream cone attached to my cappuccino. I would have never in a million years guessed that! I also got a classic waffle but I forgot to take a picture before I made a big mess of it. I also absolutely love it when coffee shops make an effort to have extra outlets installed to plug into. I selected the toppings I wanted (strawberries, bananas, Nutella, Oreos, m&ms, and chocolate syrup) and they layered each waffle with delicious ingredients until it was a 4 layer tower of tasty goodness!! Everyone loved it. Then, for thanksgiving, I ordered individual waffle hearts and let them select the toppings. They included strawberries, bananas, and cherries with Reese's, Oreos, and chocolate syrup. Some of the waffles were made with brownie batter too! I looked this place up on Yelp and was very curious what the entire concept was. I was glad to have made it in! Inside this cute little gelato/waffle/fresh juices/cafe shop is casual seating comfortable enough to hang out, have a delicious gelato stuffed waffle and enjoy a good house made coffee. Tucked towards the back is where the tough part is, and that is trying to decide on what it is that you want. This was a unique concept based out of Berlin that made it to Tampa. I talked to one of the owners and come to find out, she happens to be from Switzerland. Her and her husband are super nice, and it was a pleasure visiting their shop. Now, the Gelato was hard for me to choose. They have 14 flavors, and their stuffed waffle menu isn't just sweet, but they have a savory menu as well. Double trouble. Let's start with the sweet. First you pick your sauce flavor, (good luck with that), then it's your choices of fruit, and last but not least, your topping. Now, I chose a gelato waffle with all the fixings. I am a sucker for Hazelnut, so I wanted mine stuffed with strawberries and Nutella. Once it came out to the table, they added what seemed to be Kinder Bueno pieces around the edges and lightly dusted with powdered sugar. They added a personal touch to it with my name written on the plate. It looked SO good. Along with dessert, I had their cappuccino. To add a little more bang, it had a miniature cone of my choice of gelato. Bring on the coffee flavor! I literally died and gone to heaven in sugar and delight. My son kept going back and forth on items until he finally decided on their Kinder Bueno Sundae. I don't think I have seen him indulge in a sundae as much as he did that day. Not in the mood for sweets? They have a Mexican, Chicken BBQ, and an Italian stuffed Waffle. The next time I come here, I will make sure that I try one of these. First timer. We saw this place on an instagram video and wanted to try it out. Such a unique place, but the experience lacked entirely. Decorated very nicely. Great place for photo ops. The menu had no descriptions or any information and the employees did not help much it was like she didn't want to be there unfortunately. When i asked what was in different waffle packages she would name one thing and i had to ask about specific sauces and seasonings. The waffle sandwich is not that, it's a sandwich. not a sandwich on a waffle. it looked like they toasted the bread in the waffle maker to give it the waffle appearance. That should be labeled, we were expecting an actual waffle. The food altogether lacked flavor and that crispness of the waffle. it was very soggy. The milkshakes were nothing special, while they're beautiful to look at they melted quickly and had no real taste. I got the oreo one and there was no trace of the oreo taste just ice cold milk and whipped cream. My advice, edit the menus and have actual descriptions as well as training employees to assist their customers and give them the information needed to choose the right meal. the bathrooms were very dirty as well as the tables. For a place that has no garbage for customers, employees should be on top of picking up plates and trash and wiping down the tables for new guests. read more

The presentation is beautiful. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I went with the peanut waffle which has Nutella, strawberries and bananas and drizzled with chocolate and topped with crushed peanuts on top. I really enjoyed it. I do wish it was warmer. By the time all the toppings get on there the waffle is no longer warm. Also the whole thing is a bit dry and kind of hard to swallow if you don't have a drink which I did not.
