I pointed out the broken bottle, inch-sized rocks, one huge rock (7-8 in), and lots of plastic and metal rubbish. I also showed him that the topsoil that I got were mainly clayey balls of soil(?) and wood chips. He seemed baffled at first. He said his guy probably scooped too deep and got all the junk stuff. He assured me that their topsoil was screened and friable. I'll never know if that's true. I already ordered topsoil from another local nursery since they weren't very quick to reply back. He readily refunded the topsoil and delivery minus the compost that I put in it. I lost time, seeds, transplants to the crap topsoil, but meh. We'll chalk it up as an expensive learning experience. Always check out the topsoil before you buy. Check it out again before they dump it.

I saw the leaves of the plant dying few days after getting it home and sent a message to the owner who said "it is normal and old leaves are dying." Hence I kept it with my other plants and in the next few days all my plants had spider mites. I have my herbs growing since 2 years with no problem and lost the harvest to the spider mites. Unfortunately I did not realize this sooner. I got medication, watered the plant and spent hours everyday trying to clean each leaf of every plant I not only spent over a 100$ on those plants that didn't last but it killed some of my existing plants (4 to be precise).
