Decided to try this place instead of going to our regular Mexican food spot. We sat outside and our server was nice but was kind of one of those servers that moves too quickly and is gone before you can ask for anything. I ordered the enchiladas super rancheras and my wife ordered a shrimp fajita. The fajita was amazing but my order came out wrong and was only 2 enchiladas, so I let the waiter know and he ended up bringing me another plate that was also missing an enchilada. I didn't want to wait again for a third plate so I just ate it. The salsa was pretty good here but the white sauce and the queso dip were way too runny which made a mess. So, I'm not a big Mexican food fan, but, I really like this place and especially what I ordered. I ordered Quesabirria tacos and I would strongly suggest everyone to get them. They are Birria beef in crunchy soft tacos with a great beef consumé for dipping. A couple margaritas and tacos hit the spot. My kiddo had a birthday party nearby and I wanted to grab lunch instead of waiting there. I ordered the lunch chicken fajita burrito with rice and black beans and it was absolutely delicious, as were my hot chips and salsa and crema blanco. unfortunately, I was fairly disappointed by my experience here. The waiters and staff were very polite. And the service was extremely fast. We ordered vegetarian tacos and tacos El Pastor. The vegetarian tacos had essentially zero flavor. It was cold, which I think it's supposed to be cold but still there was nothing to it. We had to add a lot of spice and various things. Fine I don't think you should judge a Mexican restaurant based on a vegetarian taco so let's look at some of the other things. The Al Pastor was solid, but not the best I've ever had. El Chito is Miles ahead of this place in terms of authenticity and flavor of the taco. Lastly, we got a hibiscus tea otherwise known as Jamaica I typically get this at any Mexican restaurant I get because it's a delicious tangy but sweet drink. This basically tasted like sugar water. Very disappointing. Overall, I think, and I mean no offense by this, this is meant for fairly bland, white people. People without taste buds. I think it's meant for people who love taco Tuesday and margaritas and Jimmy Buffett. Not for authentic Mexican food. read more

I met my friends here and had high expectations since I love their location in Bellevue. I wasn't disappointed. The tortilla chips, salsa, ranch dip and queso dip kept on coming as we perused the menu, waiting for one more in our party, and ordered draaaanks! My bestie got a jumbo margarita (okay more than one!), and her hubby got a Corona, I picked the mini Coronita... (I'm a lightweight!) The mood was dynamic, Mexican music in the background, brightly decorated booths, Spanish tile, we were having a blast! And that's before the food came! My bestie and I got the corn tortilla carnitas tacos with onion, cilantro and cheese, her hubby got the gorditas and it was ALL GOOD! The carnitas weren't the best I've ever had, but they were satisfying! The presentation was appealing! As far as the service went, it was fair, a tad slow. The place wasn't too busy, Covid kept the seating separated and it was clean and sanitized. I tried Mi Jalisco on happenstance after a workout at the Crunch Fitness next door. We ordered our food online around 8pm on a Sunday night, and it was ready in about 10 minutes. I walked in to pick it up and was greeted immediately by kind staff. When I checked my order, I realized they'd forgotten a quesadilla, which they quickly remedied in under 5 minutes with many apologies. The food was so good, we ended up eating half of it before we even got home! I feel like I can't find Mexican food that's reliable, and this quickly went to the top of my list. It has the glimmer of good food but it missed the mark. Orders wrong missing items and overcooked, and I mean dryyyyy chicken. We ordered chicken avocado tacos with a side of pico, veggie burrito and enchiladas mexicanas, which is three chicken enchiladas but they incorrectly sent one cheese, one chicken and one beef, and no beans and rice. The veggie burrito was missing the Spanish rice. The chicken avocado tacos would have been good had the meat been succulent. It was more on the verge of being jerky. I'm hoping this was an anomaly and that they were just having a bad day. I should also mention there are no chips and salsa included, so if you want some you have to order and pay for it. read more

This place doesn't look like much from the outside, especially when compared to its other locations here in RVA. However, the food is superb and the staff was Uber friendly. I came in for lunch and had a taco salad with veggies. Only thing I could complain about is that there wasn't a lot of lettuce in my salad but it was cheesy bean goodness in a bowl. I thought it was really cute that when I ordered a side of cheese it came in a mini taco bowl- can you say adorable? They also have new happy hour specials and a great reduced price lunch menu. Such a large selection that I'm not including menu pictures- go to the website it's there. Valpak for the win y'all! This gem of a Mexican restaurant...why didn't I know before today? Well I'm a creature of habit so I generally go to the places I like for certain things! But hunny this place did not disappoint! My daughter treated (she's so sweet)! The menu is massive but they offer all the favs to include birria! Went here with my daughter while in Richmond for a swim meet. The horchata was great and now my 9 yo is hooked. Chips were nice and fresh, salsa was very flavorful and the queso was some of the best! White sauce was a little too much like ranch dressing but it's ok. My daughter got the Arroz con Pollo and it was a huge hit with her, she must have inherited my taste buds 'cause I totally agree. I got the birria tacos and was a little disappointed, they were a little soggy and falling apart as I tried to dip in the consomme. The meat was on the bland side and the texture was off. Service was fast, prices were fair and Waitstaff was very friendly. The dinning room was very colorful and clean. Would go back but not for birria. My friend in Ashland has a Mi Jalisco near her house where I have eaten with her before and thought it pretty good. So when I saw one was near my house now, I hoped they were one and the same and decided to order (placed through GrubHub). DH opted for a combo platter (one with a chili relleno, his favorite) and ordered the carnitas. My confirmation said my order would be delivered within 30 minutes. My order arrived in about 25 minutes with complimentary chips and 2 kinds of salsa. DH is kind of tough on salsa since he makes his own. He really liked theirs, saying it had a nice kick to it. He liked his combo platter. I enjoyed my carnitas, which was a hearty serving. Enough for me to have lunch the next day. Quick and pretty delicious. Even with GrubHub, the price was pretty reasonable. I look forward to dining in soon. read more

This place is wonderful I had the burrito Carlito and my daughter had the Arrozo com-polo (Sorry for the spelling) I also had a mango slush margarita (damn delicious). Our waiter was so pleasant and courteous. Our food was just as delicious and so filling. I had plenty leftovers because I filled up on chips and salsa and they also serve the white sauce with the salsa, we also had a tomatillo sauce (has some kick) but it was yummy also. Food was disappointing. I ordered the quesabirra tacos and could only eat 1. From looking at the beef I could tell it was old and was just reheated. The tortillas were old too because the whole taco fell apart from trying to eat it. The flavor was different from other quesabirras I've had too. Do not recommend! This place ROCKS! It is amazing food with great prices. They have a vegetable taco salad with squash and zucchini with the basics of lettuce, tomato, sour cream and guac (beans as well but I don't eat them so they took them and the mushrooms out for me) for less than $10. Their queso with mexican sausage and it came out bubbling and lots of meat; knock your socks off good. As for COVID prep, tables are more than 6 feet apart, all staff are wearing masks (properly, not as chin straps) and very clean. Definitely a do again place? read more

Their "white salsa" is literally the reason I have not given up on life yet. This sauce is better than any antidepressant I've ever taken. Four bucks gets you a weeks worth of sauce and a giant bag of chips. If I was homeless, I'd live solely off of this sauce if I could make four bucks a day.
