A very healthy bowl of hot stone pot bibimbap! Lots of veggies (no more mushrooms sadly) and a small bowl of cabbage soup on the side. They provide pretty big portions so this is a good filling meal to have on a cold winter day! Hello rice cakes! Wonjo Tofu House is located inside Queens Crossing right where the bustling foot traffic flows through at the far end of the food court. This place offers traditional Korean lunch items like bulgogi, tofu stew, pancakes along with all sorts of little side dishes. I think we probably passed by here a few times until my sister's bf pointed out he never had a Korean rice cake before. Say no more! Tteokbokki- Delicious, chewy rice cakes in a spicy chili sauce with hints of sweetness. After popping 3 of them in my mouth, I was sniffling. Luckily it was served with a boiled egg which helped breakup the spice. So addictive! Overall Service: We only wanted the rice cakes to try out but they didn't have the price for just side dishes. Wonjo Tofu House is located inside The Shop at Queens Crossing, I ordered their Dolsot Bibimbap with assorted vegetables and rice, served with their special homemade pepper paste in a traditional stone pot (#6). The service by Nicole, was exceptional. Nicole's attentiveness and friendly demeanor enhanced the dining experience, making us feel genuinely welcomed. The Dolsot Bibimbap itself was phenomenal. The dish arrived sizzling in a hot stone pot, and the combination of assorted fresh vegetables with perfectly cooked rice created a delightful mix of textures and flavors. The special pepper paste, which was served on the side, added a spicy kick that complemented the dish beautifully without overwhelming it. My absolute favorite spicy rice cake!!! Always my recommendation whenever someone asks for tteokbokki. The rice cakes are cooked so perfectly, chewy but not too chewy (My preferred texture). It has the most amazing sauce, sometimes I save it then cook my own rice cakes and throw it in. Its spicy but a little sweet. Ordered two take outs and both orders were wrong. I ordered a #13, which is a beef bones stew. When I opened the order , it was a beef slices soup. I called and complained but the owner wouldn't own up to his mistake. He said if I wanted the beef bones stew, I should have ordered the steak soup, not the beef bones stew. I ordered haemul tangmyun which was good except that the shrimp wasn't peeled. It also contained crab legs, squid, mussels, and I can't remember what else. I asked them to make it mild which they did. Rant: I just hate how a lot of Asian restaurants don't peel shrimp. Am I supposed to peel it with my hand? What am I paying for if the shrimp isn't peeled? I can make my own seafood noodles at home. It's just not worth the trouble. I don't understand why they cook it with the shell on because the flavor doesn't seep in and it just tastes and smells like raw seafood. So, the day has come when a food court meal in Flushing served on plastic is considered "cheap" at $10. It had to happen. Unfurl the banners. A vegetarian friend and I came here after the much heralded Curry Bo (the mere name "Bo" signaling thoughts of gourmet grandeur in Hong Kong? https://www.yelp.com/biz/curry-bo-flushing) in the same food court told us their curry sauce contained beef. At Wonjo, she got soondubu and I had bibimbap. The bibimbap was fine, nothing special, but simple and clean-tasting. Since it was not the version served in the stone bowl (dol-sot bibimbap, $1 extra), it was no-frills: warm rice with cool ingredients arranged colorfully on top. The soondubu looked lackluster, even accounting for the fact that 1) it was still boiling furiously upon receipt, and 2) all the seafood had been removed from it. They gave the option to request a fully vegetarian broth as well (a stock without seafood? YMMV). Unsure if they are related to the very "meh" Wonjo in Manhattan's Koreatown (https://www.yelp.com/biz/new-wonjo-restaurant-new-york), which I don't waste my time on anymore. I probably won't return here either, since I prefer my Korean meals to be large productions with lots and lots of banchan crowding the table. But if you want basic, beginner Korean in a casual format, come here. read more

I got the bulgogi bento box. Sides were cold (only thing hot was the rice) and tasted store-bought. The japchae tasted like Chinese stir-fry noodle and the beef was overly sweet. $10 for a meal is pretty standard now, even in Flushing but it was definitely not worth that much. The 4 pieces of broccoli they put in there were cold and could've passed as uncooked (and unseasoned). Service was ok. There were no other customers around and the worker was very patient as I stood there deciding what to get. I haven't tried any of there other dishes but based on this one, I probably won't be coming back. There are plenty of other places near Main St I can get my Korean meal fix. read more

Another new korean spot to choose from in the Queens Crossing mall which is a good choice for a fast meal in the food court. I ordered the pork bulgogi bento box cuz I like my food separate. The pork is a spicy marinade and the beef bulgogi is just a sweet sauce with onions and peppers. You order at the cashier and then you can choose about two banchans from what they have prepared that day. I chose the kimchi which by the way that it was cut looks totally homemade. Good spiciness and very fresh. I also tried a special fermented baby shrimp banchan they had. There was also pickled radishes, spicy pickled cucumbers, beansprouts mix, tofu sheet and pickled seaweed. My bento came with a scoop of rice, some japchae sesame noodz, three different pieces of tofu, a piece of carrot and broccoli and a small fish broth soup. I prefer these bentos but they also have bibimbap and a selection of soups if you want that instead. I also spotted some ddukboki spicy rice cakes as well. They have spicy soon tofu soup, beef galbi tang and pork yookgyaetang and haemul nyang myun seafood noodle soup. Its better to eat in the food court than take to go tho cuz their tray and container covers dont quite fit properly and keep coming loose so careful carrying out. Also grab some extra napkins in case you encounter a mess. They also speak some chinese and korean which is interesting. All dishes range about $9-10. Overall I look forward to coming back to grab some soup and these nice korean bentos. read more

This is part of the "new" Queens Crossing Mall Food Court. They have Curry Bo, Young Street Poke, Happy Lemon, and this glorious "fast food" Korean spot. There's 8 items on the menu but usually everyone is lined up for number 4 on the menu - bento box or number 1 Soon Tofu. You can pick two sides and choose between beef bulgogi or stew pork for your bento box. I personally like the stew pork, but if you're here with a partner get one of each. I believe every item on the menu is under $10 bucks, more money in the bank! It's one of my favorite places to grub at in their "new" food court area. So if you have $10 burning in your pocket and you're in the area, stop by. Summary: cheap eat (under $10) + a good portion of grub and sides. read more

A new Korean addition to the Queens crossing food court. I was quite excited for it and very happy a Korean food place close enough to where I work. The first time I went, I decided to get the beef bento box (#4), I felt that it was a good amount of food for the price I'm paying for ($9.79 with tax) with a good variety of different things. Like a usual bento box from Japanese places, there are different size compartments, bigger ones for the "main course" and smaller ones for usual Korean side dishes. They let you choose two sides from six behind the counter. They give you white rice and clear noodles in the biggest compartment. Then they put your choice of meat (beef, chicken or pork). They sprinkle sesame over the top when they're done. This order comes with a bowl of something that resembles miso soup. The first time I got this, I got the beef and it came with a good amount and I was actually satisfied. Taste wise it was decent me this is suppose to be a quick lunch so can't complain too much. But when I came here the second time around, and got chicken. She literally gave me three pieces of chicken, all with big bones and little meat and it came with a hue piece of carrot. Just unacceptable! If anyone does plan to get the bento box from here don't ever pick chicken! In their sample behind the counter, it clearly shows at least four pieces of chicken. And it was not all that amazing, a bit on the sweet side. Probably won't come back and if I do I would never get the chicken again, not worth the money. $9.79 for all the sides and rice and three pieces of chicken with a huge piece of carrot. read more
