I especially like the open kitchen. FOOD Lobster Benedict - 8.6 / 10 A "first" for me. The sturdiness of the onion bagel stood up to the heartiness of the lobster meat. Bonus points for using real lobster meat, which was nicely cooked. Eggs were perfectly poached (I wish that I good get mine to look + taste like these). This was quite scrumptious & I would order it again in a heartbeat. *SERVICE - 2 / 10* Just some constructive feedback for management: One of the biggest caveats of being a hotel restaurant is that combining a restaurant bill to a hotel guest's overall tab can be tricky. Someone in my party did this (understandably so), but in doing so servers are likely to not return to check-in at the end of (or during, for that matter) the dining experience because the bill is already accounted for. As hard-working (& arguably over-worked) as out server was, our party was pretty much forgotten about the moment after we received our food. We never got much needed refills on our drinks. This was most notable evident when someone else from out party had to flag down a server to get a to-go box. As someone who has worked in the service industry, nothing is quite as appreciated as a "check-in" from out server (let alone multiple "check-ins"). If multiple people are doing that dreaded "neck stretch" (desperate to get a server's attention), then you already know that something's not right. Again, I can't stress enough that this isn't the individual server's fault, rather a short-coming by the restaurant's management team that's most likely understaffing front-of-house. Also, I'm not the biggest fan of a cut-off / limited restaurant hours (On Sunday, ending at 11am). Granted we arrived by 10am, I don't ever want to feel like I need to self-regulate my time just so that I don't cut into staff's unpaid / overtime hours / longer than they wish to say. As someone who has left previous jobs because of this, I can't stand it. Again, I attribute this shortcoming to the restaurant's management team. Extend hours & hire adequate staff numbers. My family of 4, myself Husband and two girls (8). (10) as well as my parents went for the Mother's Day Brunch. We had made a prior reservation on Open Table and were sat right away. Maria our server was very friendly, attentive and kind. The food was fresh, plentiful with a variety of options from seafood, pastries , omelets, carving station, fruits, salads, desserts and many selection specially for the kids. Forget local bars, this is located inside the Hyatt regency. I spend 2 nights a week here... drinks are always great! The staff is always amazingly nice-- never any new employees which I love, we always have a sense of recognition. Came to check out Greater Pacific and was pleasantly surprised they have a weekend happy hour from 3-7pm. Ended up getting the brussel sprouts, wings 1/2 buffalo and 1/2 Korean, poblano corn dip, and calamari. Eunice was my waitress and super sweet. She checked on me multiple times. The food came out pretty fast. Brussels sprouts were soo good! I liked the buffalo over the Korean, and poblano corn dip was good too! Calamari was not flavorful and the sauces were too thick. I will come back next time I'm in town! read more

Her demeanor was cool, calm, and collected despite the hustle and bustle of the brunch crowd. She was also able to handle the crowd well as many of her coworkers called off for that shift... The food was ok for the AYCE price point. Pricewise, I feel like we could have eaten better at another location as the choices at this location were limited. I was very disappointed that this short ribs were dry and sour. it normally took hours to get this dish pre prepared. But the unprofessionalism and unskilled cooking just made everything in vain. In the menu it said "braised short rib, sautéed garlic and shallots, haricots verts, parsnip mash, au jus". As there was no sautéed garlics or shallots in this dish, I asked the waitress. The chef said all garlics and shallots were grounded in this parsnips mashed potatoes. Hmm it was totally a lie. No restaurants would bother grounding the fine vegetables, especially shallots in the mashed potatoes, not mention that the menu said "sautéed" right there. It didn't taste like all those ingredients all mashed together at all. Apparently they didn't want to serve the food and just put whatever was available in the plate. read more

Overpriced, mediocre hotel restaurant at Hyatt Regency with very slow brunch service on the weekends. I stayed at the hotel for a week and came down for breakfast only twice. There's lots of indoor seating and some outdoor patio seating. While the Mimosas are tasty and came out pretty fast within a few minutes of ordering, our dishes were served 45 min later with a lackluster sour attitude and didn't even get a chance to ask for a refill! As I wasn't able to pair the mimosa with the eggs - it defeated the purpose of ordering the cocktail. After this poor experience on our 2nd visit, I threw in the towel and grabbed breakfast outside the hotel during the remainder of our stay. Our 1st visit during the weekdays was much better. Buttermilk Pancakes (5/5) - The fluffy buttery moist pancakes were definitely the highlight of breakfast! You can get a small side of them (not featured on the menu), just ask! Breakfast Southwest Burrito (5/5) - The hearty burrito hit the spot with scrambled eggs, onions, avocado, potatoes, and Monterey Jack cheese paired with a side of crispy home fries. Perfect hangover food! Veggie Omelet (2/5) - While it was packed with veggies and cheddar cheese, the omelet was very bland and dense. I was a bit irked for the $2 upcharge of swapping the fresh fruit with a bowl of berries (my toddler prefers them!). After paying close to $15 for a dish, the substitution should really be free. While Great Pacific has potential, it's easy to see why there are so many empty tables. read more

A party of 6-7 had great service. The food was good, some dishes better than others. The Chicken Marsala was very different tasting and looking. Noisy music was playing inside the restaurant by the entrance and the restaurant seemed crowded with people trying to hold a conversation with one another, which was not easy. read more

Came here for Easter brunch and the buffet was good. They had a great variety, not to mention the bottomless mimosas were included. It was definitely worth the price. There were some favorites with the food and some okay options but all in all a great Easter brunch. The salmon was very good. Great variety of salads and the veggies were great. I needed a quiet place to eat and work while waiting for my husband to be discharged from the hospital. Antonia at Greater Pacific was the most hospitable customer service person I've been taken care of by in a long time. I had a few side tweaks to my order and she delightfully responded with 'of course we can do that, no problem.' The waffle, latte and side of eggs w Hollandaise ministered to soul as well as my taste buds. thank you for creating an atmosphere of affordable luxury. My wife and I did not have an enjoyable experience here. The hostess was somewhat hostile which was strange but we ignored that throughout our time dining. We only interacted with her, so I can't speak on the other staff. I'm going to assume she was having a bad day - or something like that. I gave this place 2 stars because we like the modern design of the restaurant and the ambiance is nice. It was nice and quiet inside which was relaxing. The food was undeniably a disappointment. We ordered french fries as a small appetizer which tasted bland, almost as if they were cooked several times or reheated. I don't think they were actually old, or at least I have no evidence of that -- but that is how I would describe the taste. Next we ordered the Ancient Grains Bowl with "quinoa, farro, grilled portobello, avocado, onions, sweet potatoes, grilled sweet peppers, balsamic glaze". Strangely, it took over 25 minutes to receive our order. The entire restaurant had 2 other tables to serve and we were the only table actively placing orders, so we have no clue why this took so long. When our food finally arrived, it was really awful -- almost beyond description. There was no salt, pepper, or any hint of flavor throughout the entire dish. The quinoa and farro, which we both typically love, tasted like eating a mushy version of wet sand. The vegetables and other ingredients were very scarce in the dish and the entire bowl of bland grains was overpowered by a thick drizzle of viscous balsamic vinegar. That particular balsamic vinegar is clearly intended to be lightly coated on bread with olive oil, or used for dipping, not topped on a dish like this. What resulted from all these factors was a vinegary and acidic mixture of flavorless grains and soggy vegetables. If the cook tasted any of these ingredients at any time, this may have been fixed. We tried the lemon sorbet which was more palatable than the vinegar dish, but it was mostly sticky syrup which dripped off of our spoons. We ate around those parts to finish most of it without dripping too much lemon syrup on the table. We really, really wanted to enjoy this spot and start coming here every once in a while to get away from the noisy atmosphere from the restaurants across the street. I don't see us ever coming back, and I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone after seeing how poor the quality of food is here. The cook who prepared our food clearly did not care at all about sending out food that tastes even remotely palatable. read more

For Valentine's Day this year I made a reservation at Greater Pacific Restaurant, almost by default since most of the other restaurants in the area were booked solid. I was a bit leery because Greater Pacific has gotten mixed reviews on Yelp. That's why I'm writing this. I was very pleasantly surprised by the food and service. The service was very good, even for a holiday. And we found the food to be very tasty. We shared the coastal chopped salad. The dressing was excellent and the spinach worked well with the other ingredients. I had the short ribs which I enjoyed. My girlfriend had the salmon which was perfectly cooked and delicious. We've been trying to try this restaurant for a while. Finally had the opportunity when a friend came over to visit. It was a quiet evening. Not busy at all. We ordered Ahi Poke Nachos as an appetizer. The three entrees were Grilled Salmon, Garlic Noodles, and Short Ribs. The salmon and noodles were quite flavorful and filling. Our guest said the short ribs were very good. We finished off with a slice of Carrot Cake which was also very good. Two thumbs up to the chef. Our table server, Jourdan, was absolutely wonderful. She was extremely welcoming, efficient, and very nice. We never had to bother her for anything as she was always there for us. She really made the experience extra-special. We hope to see her again the next time we visit. We ended up spending a couple hours there. Because it wasn't super-busy, it felt very relaxing. Can't wait to go back. read more

Hubby and I stopped by for a very late night dinner after an awards show. Hubby was not hungry but I ordered a grilled salmon salad which was as much (or more) salmon than salad! Definitely enough to share which we ended up doing :) The filet was fresh and cooked to perfection, hot off of the grill, moist and delicious. The salad was a medley of fresh greens, and crisp veggies. The only reason I gave 4 stars - rather than 5 is this: The ambience left much to be desired. The light over the bar is harsh and overwhelmingly bright. The TV's were all on sports - and sports commentary. Why? Why, would anyone choose to listen to that especially in a hotel lounge?! Instead, why not put sports on some of the screens but play music videos on at least one screen and on the sound system? Or just music to listen to, sports to watch (no sound). This is the best of both worlds. Those who are sitting alone at the bar (under an eye straining spotlight) and want to watch the game can do so. Those who want to enjoy a cocktail and conversation in the dimly lit booths can actually hear each other - without having to shout over the critical and sometimes aggressive sports commentary. The bartender/cocktail waitress/server was running herself ragged trying to juggle many jobs. So her attitude was rushed and a bit stressed as to be expected. In conclusion, the vibe is less than relaxed but the food is good. You decide. read more

Omg! The coconut Shrimp rocked my world!!! And I always grimace when husband orders it. Definitely not my favorite. But tonight changed my mind! The coconut shrimp was AMAZING! I really want to like this place. Gave it a second try this weekend, but same experience as before. Slow service is the theme. Just feels like there should be note people in the floor. All the waiters and waitresses were working hard but were so busy that diners who had already been seated had to queue up in line at the bar to get service. For me personally, it was for a simple 2 second request that I had to seek out the waiter for. Next to us we overheard the other table quietly expecting similar observations. Really but worth the $60 price tag. I see the business is replying to these reviews so I'd just say, from an outsiders perspective, the place just needs a few more people. We had dinner and drinks at the bar and that's a mistake. Weak drinks and terrible service from people that obviously haven't a clue about the place. We frequent happy hours on a weekly basis, so this review is focused on our happy hour experience. We started our ticket at 5:35. 1. The menu selection is not big, but overall was good. Not great, but good. Their duck fat truffle fries were very tasty. The loaded tater tot fries were just floppy potato balls; nothing "loaded" about them, so save your money. The tempura spicy crab roll was tasty and flavorful as well as the wings, which were well cooked and fell off the bone. 2. The drink selection is safe. Nothing amazing, but I picked the Wolf Creek IPA. My wife got a filthy martini, which was part of the well drinks. However, when we got the check we were not given the happy hour prices for any of our alcohol drinks (4 drinks in total). I had them adjust it, only for them to only adjust the (2) beer drinks. Apparently the dirty martini's my wife ordered was not a well drink according to what our 2nd bartender told us, which was contrary to what our first bartender said. We ended paying an extra $1.50 (x2) for this discrepancy. 3. In terms of customer service, I think if the martini was not considered a well drink, I think it's only courtesy to let the customer know they should expect a higher price. They knew we were there for happy hour. I don't think I should have to examine my receipt for discrepancies and so that lack of trust left a bad last impression. Trust in a business is essential for me to frequenting that establishment. Verdict: I think the place was nice. Not great. The crowd was 40+. We are in our late 30's and we felt out of place. The food was good, but consider what I mentioned in point #1. I personally would not go back because they lack good beer selection and not listing what is considered a well drink under the $6 ticket price is a slight over site, but should be listed for future patrons. We didn't mind paying the extra $3 for the martini, but don't let me unpleasantly discover it. read more

Who wants to go to a restaurant that sounds like a bank? We thought we would try happy hour here and had a group of 7. We all ordered drinks and appetizers. Menu selection was limited but customer service was non existent. After an hour, I asked the waitress where the food was and she was rather abrupt in her response that the printer wasn't working. Sounds like my office, not a restaurant. Then they brought an appetizer that we didn't order. We said we would take it and they said we would have to pay for it. ( Good customer service would have been delighted to say 'it's on the house for the long wait!'). In any case, food was just ok. Didn't stay for the entertainment. First of all, I don't see how this is a Japanese restaurant, I was looking for sushi on the menu or any type of Asian dish but I didn't see any, maybe I had the wrong menu? I was working across the street and didn't want to eat at the mall so I decided to try Greater Pacific. At first I was a little taken aback by the prices, $15 for a sandwich??!! For Santa Clarita food???? If it's a restaurant in downtown or something where the food is exceptional, I have no problem paying that price. Anyways, I decided to just buy the club sandwich. OH MY GOSH, I am so glad I spent that money, it was literally the best wrap I think I've ever had. This place is misleading, you think it's just hotel food, (the kind you have to get because you're stuck in a hotel room and can't go anywhere), but no GP's food is chef quality food. Although the redesign has opened up the restaurant and lobby, I think it has lost some of the intimate ambiance. Who wants to look at the lobby check in counter while relaxing in the lounge? We happened to be in the area and stopped in for dinner. From beginning to end, the food was absolutely worth every penny. My girlfriend and I started off with the ribs as an appetizer, ordered the DELICIOUS melt in your mouth Filet Mignon as our main course, and finished off with the carrot cake. If you happen to be a local, or visiting and staying at/near the Hyatt, I'd absolutely recommend them.
