Given the 2 years lapse in time is the best quality indicator and greatest testament to this truly wonderful cabinet company. First and foremost, the family and crew are professional and wonderful. The total experience from design to installation left nothing to be desired as they were proactive, timely, competent and clean. Every interaction showed why a family run business is better than an impersonal box store. They asked questions for clarification rather than assume this is what we wanted. They had a "can do attitude" verses one full of excuses. The contractural agreement and payment schedule was straightforward and painless. I certainly would use them if I had to do it all over again but there is no need. Like I said, 2 years have passed and all is still very good! We are positively very happy with our beautiful kitchen, mud room and hallway cabinets!

Lines and reveals are tight, uniform, and proportional. Paint job is superior to many others! It has held up well in the last year year and a half. As with any custom build, there were some unique challenges, and we had a request for a minor change here and there as our design evolved. Casey was attentive and creative in helping us in the process. He was always available to verify measurements to make sure our other trades could put stuff in the appropriate place (plumbing lines, outlets, etc). We are now 1+ years into living with the new kitchen, and even though it is of fairly modest size, we feel it has every amenity one could wish for, and facilitates ease in workflow as if it were much larger than it is! Andrews Fine Cabinets made this all possible, and they were easy to work with. We report zero problems as of 1.5 yrs of use. Doors and drawers still square and smooth. The experience with the…read moreother two contractors involved -- the quartz countertop installer and especially Ikea's Traemand in-house cabinet installers -- led me to appreciate David and his crew more. DMD is incredibly clean and careful. They laid out masonite floor coverings before starting the work and kept them in place until done. They kept the area impeccably clean during the install. They kept me well informed and met all deadlines and budgets. The few change orders we requested were priced reasonably. DMD was highly professional and creative. I was especially pleased with unexpected extras that David threw in. For example, I had not asked that our old vents and recessed lights be replaced, but David did so, and the new fixtures made a big difference. The Traemand installer was disorganized and did not meet follow-up deadlines. Our garage was dusted with sawdust from its wood cutting and Traemand did not keep its work areas clean. Traemand left unused parts laying around at the conclusion of the job without letting me know whether the parts were needed or should be returned or discarded. The installed cabinets had discarded parts and sawdust in them. These shortcomings would be unthinkable from DMD. I highly recommend DMD for general contracting work.

But when we needed to change out an old bathroom vanity for a new one, we knew we had to get serious about it. And if you hire a plumber to do the work, which DOES involve some plumbing, then it costs way more. I resigned myself to the search and literally just contacted the most popular handyman service in my town based on Yelp reviews. Guess what? thank goodness I did! 805's Handyman (NOT to be confused with "805 Handyman") responded right away--even though it was a Sunday and the World Cup games were on. I uploaded pics, sent in the details, got an estimate, and made an appointment. On the day of, a nice truck drove up with the logo painted proudly on the side (not a guy in a fancy sports car, like handyman #9). Two sturdy guys came in and got down to business right away--no fuss, all smiles, and dare I say it? Like they loved what they do. (Unlike handyman #7 who was a former engineer and complained the whole time, even refusing to do some tasks!) Long story shorter, the bathroom vanity switcheroo turned out to be bigger and messier project than expected. It ended up involving some retiling, grouting, electrical adjustments, alterations to trim, painting--and the plumbing bits and installation and removal. The workers were quiet, helpful, communicated the whole time and were just generally old-school excellent (unlike handyman #4, who was nice, but got everything crooked and a bit wonky, bless his heart). The 805's Handyman workers did ALL the plumbing/installing/electrical/tile work/painting--the whole shebang. And the end result is a sweet transformation for our upstairs bath (I also asked them to take care of a few more items on my to-do list, which they did quickly and again, with smiles). The whole thing was very gratifying. So much so, that the next time something in our house needs fixing, I will actually look forward to hiring 805's Handyman again. We're lucky to have them in the Ventura area and they are popular on Yelp for very good reasons.

He came with all his supplies and was prepared, he swapped out my old, ugly lighting fixtures and put in the new ones no issue. He was careful but prompt with getting this task complete. Very nice guy and someone you could trust and who did a honest thorough job. Aside from doing great work and being professional, the price point was also very reasonable compared to ten other quotes I got (yes, I do my research). They are affordable, professional and most importantly they did a great job. Even my neighbors watching from the outside were impressed and came over to take some business cards. I know I'll be locking them in for some more appointments and repairs in the near future. Great work and happy to have a trustworthy handyman in the area.

He was there 5 hours when my realtor had to ask him to leave for the open house that was being held that day. He came back afterward to finish the roof inspection. He failed to complete an inspection for the kitchen due to "time constraints". However, he had time to note that there was a pet door that was a "safety" concern. He also stated that some items were issues that he was clearly wrong about ("minimal" strapping on a water heater that had 2 straps from a newly purchased kit and a third steel strap, replacement windows that he stated were the "builder type from the original construction"). While I appreciate thoroughness, spending time nitpicking every minor detail in a 61 year old house but not completing the full inspection I paid for is not acceptable. He did not get my name right on the report, even though I wrote it for him on the contract I signed. He did not provide the hard copy report that was promised, nor did he email it to me - I had to get it from my realtor. I'm giving him a 3 for thoroughness. If you have unlimited time to wait for this guy to complete the inspection, go for it. He may have been a great inspector in his prime, but personally I think he needs to hang it up and retire already.
