I came to this office at Woodbridge Smiles for crowns following a prior root canal. During my appointment, I was told by Dr Kim my teeth were "too small" for crowns, something never mentioned in previous visits, including when the root canal was completed. I was repeatedly told to Google "golden proportion" regarding my teeth, which felt unnecessary and uncomfortable in a medical setting. The dentist would not move forward in the conversation until I googled this. The discussion then shifted to a recommendation for 24+ crowns and a full "Hollywood smile," which felt unrelated to my concern. I was not given a clear explanation of what was medically necessary versus cosmetic. How did we go from needing 2 crowns in my previous appointment to needing 25+!?!? On my first visit, I was never told I had cavities. On my third visit, the front desk staff, while I was in the waiting room, asked if I wanted to schedule fillings for "multiple cavities," which I was hearing for the first time in front of other patients. I was also referred to an oral surgeon without explanation. (I assumed it was for the crown I needed) At that visit, the surgeon appeared confused by the referral, stated the impacted tooth I have does not need removal unless symptomatic, and suggested I find a new dentist. Overall, I left feeling confused, overwhelmed, and without a consistent treatment plan. I also left in tears, which I have never experienced regarding dental care. I would have appreciated clearer communication and a focused, medically 'necessary' plan. Not a full reconstruction of my teeth, when I've never had smile insecurities prior. A plan that would've put $15k+ in the dentists pocket. Unnecessary and cruel. Dr S. also suggested it was completely unnecessary after the dentist walked out. Btw, THESE ARE MY TEETH! I had a 4pm appointment for a cleaning. I left my job at 2:45 (I work in Arlington). I rushed, got there at 4pm to be told that the dentist left for the day. The receptionist said she'd be calling me all day to verify my insurance information. When I asked her what number they called - they had it wrong number. I understand if I arrived late it is okay to leave, but I arrived on time. The dentist couldn't wait till I got there to verify my info? I wasted time off work, and now have to drive back. Absolutely horrible I would NEVER go to this dentist office again!!! We went for our appointment at 11 o'clock and was seen by the dentist at 2:45. For cavities needed to be filled and the dentist had the nerve to say to me he would do them if he had time. Really I have been patiently waiting in this office for my appointment that was at 11 and it's 240fine really I think you have time. Second appointment went to get a filling in the teeth on the other side of mouth my appointment was at 1 and was finally seen at 1:40. After the dentist started the work he said he could not finish because it was out of time and had an outer patient. I told him wait the only reason you don't have time it's because were 40 minutes late for my appointment last week when I was in here you were 2 1/2 hours late for my appointment. The dentist it up turn around and walked away and told me I needed to discuss it with the front desk. This was the male oriental dentist. I went up and talk to the front desk and luckily the female dentist came back and did the rest of the work. I want to stay at the male Dentist was extremely rough! I wouldn't even rate this office if I had a choice! 0/10!! I tried rescheduling my appointment the day before my appointment so I could avoid this issue BECAUSE this isn't Woodbridge Smiles first time being inconsiderate as fuck with patients' time. This office is very inconsiderate with other people's time! I booked an appointment months prior to NOT getting service done. My appointment was scheduled for noon, I was running 9 minutes behind (I made the 15-minute grace period). As I entered the office I waited in line for 2 minutes, so I was checked in at 12:14pm.. But as I was waiting to get checked in. the lady in FRONT of me was able to check in to her 10:30AM appointment that she MISSED with no problems.. It kind of threw me off because when I was about 20 minutes late for one appointment it was CANCELLED, but a last was almost 3 hours late and was still able to be seen! I noticed they were behind so I asked can I brush my teeth to run time away. I get back & I waited about 3 minutes just so I can sign the Covid-19 waiver... After 15 minutes pass I ask how long will it be because now I've been waiting for more than 20 minutes after checking in! The lady at the front desk was very rude with her response and asked if I wanted to RESCHEDULE after waiting 20+ minutes! I told her NO because I booked this appointment months prior and put things on hold for this appointment that COULDVE been rescheduled because they were overbooked in the beginning! The lady who told me I can reschedule at the front desk was on Instagram and so was another assistant guy that sits behind her. I was told 3 people were ahead of me so I sat back down because what else am I going to do when I drove all the way up there and already been waiting 30+ minutes AFTER being checked in... 10 minutes go by and they called back the 10:30am patient... I got irraited then because they obviously are playing with my time in my face. I then went to ask the front desk assistant about it. She had an attitude and asked if I wanted to speak to a director who was rude as hell. She tried saying "in the medical profession this is how things are ran" which I know isn't true not professional for her to say because in the medical field if you aren't at your appointment after 15 minutes they WONT see you. So everything they are doing is off of their own knowledge and not MEDICAL knowledge. After expressing myself to the director how they are inconsiderate with peoples time. The director or whoever she is tried telling me waiting 30+ minutes is okay and that basically me checking in at 12:12pm (i waited in line for 2 min so on the computer it says 12:14pm) is the reason why i was waiting, but they took a 10:30 AM appointment before me with NO problems ?????????!!!!!!!!!! she asked if i wanted to rescheduled after waiting now for 35+ minutes and I lost it because why the fuck would i reschedule after WAITING & driving there!!!!! THE WORST DENTAL EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE. Office was small; so small you could hear other patients sobbing /crying/screaming from the pain of getting tooth extractions. Dr. Uppalapati was pushy, aggressive, unprofessional, and combative. The receptionist seemed to have tension between them and snappy attitudes towards one another. Came here about eight months ago for a regular cleaning. I have never left a dentist in so much pain before. There were many people waiting and I just felt like they were rushing through my cleaning and when I said it hurt they told me it was supposed to... the staff was very young and didn't know how to work a lot of the equipment and when the young woman working with me asked for help, she was given attitude and in turn left me without all the scans I needed. Lastly the biggest thing that left me VERY uncomfortable was being told I had two cavities and they needed to be filled immediately. I declined since the cleaning was so unpleasant. Out of all 22 years I've lived here, this is the worse experience I've had at a dental office. I made my appointment for 1:30pm today, I arrived on time, and was immediately assisted. The young lady took me to the back and sat me down on the chair, prepared me with all the needed equipment and she said the dentist would be right with me. 20 minutes pass, the same young lady came back and apologized for having me wait and said an emergency came up and the dentist had to work on a root canal and could not leave the patient. She asked me to wait another 20-30 minutes. I was upset at this point because as many may understand, it is not easy to miss work or work around busy schedules just to get a dentist appointment accommodated. I was losing valuable work time, and the young lady said there was only one dentist working today because the other dentist was out on vacation. An HOUR later, the woman at the front desk came to me and apologized for having me wait so long and to please understand that the doctor was assisting that urgent patient, she told me that I can leave go grab lunch or go back home and then come back because by then, the dentist would be ready for me. Are you kidding me??? This angered me even more because it is not easy to leave go back home or anywhere else and then drive back to the dental office. I had so much things to do, that this was staring to sound so absurd. TWO hours later, I am still waiting on that chair and no dentist. The women would just come by and tell me each time that the dentist would be ready in 30 minutes. It was 3:10pm and I still wasn't seen by the dentist. They wasted my time, I requested off from work, I delayed in grocery shopping, cooking for my family, had to deal with traffic, it was an absolute waste of time. I will admit I was hesitant to go here based on the reviews. I needed an emergency wisdom tooth extraction and made an appt the same week the problematic tooth erupted. The receptionist was vague about her knowledge when I would ask her specific questions regarding the procedure and recovery time - however she did get me answers eventually despite my having to wait a bit on the phone call. I appreciated that. I am usually moderately anxious with dentists overall so when I searched up the reviews for this place they did not help at all! However this dentist accepts Medicaid which was the sole reason I kept my appt. To keep this review short- virtual paperwork, temp checks, and calling in to be allowed into the office has been implemented which are great covid precautions. And the consult and procedure was done under 30 min but it was thorough and elaborate nonetheless. I'm happy with the assistants knowledge and communication skills with post op instructions. And the doctor was kind, straight to the point and seamlessly performed the procedure and all I felt was pressure and I had MINIMAL bruising which is optimal for recovery. i had a bad experience too. and just did not think much of it . I too was given an x-ray by some one that seemed not to speak English i just let it go. then i went to get a tooth pulled and was given some anesthesia but not enough the doc went to pull i jumped he said oooo i see i have one more nerve to get. (what) the tooth came out. That doctor said he wanted to walk me out. My daughter was there waiting. The doctor told my daughter around 12 that i was a big baby. (Yes) While i was walking out one of the rooms or space need to be cleaned up there gauze with blood or a red substance on the floor. I heard on employee say that was a bad one. So i need to get implants, i google search and go both their website and FB page and they advertise free consultation in clear language. I call on phone and they tell me yes a free consultation on implant pricing. I get there and check in and the girl at counter asks if i also want a cleaning since im late on it. I tell her "how could you know im late if i never even been here before". Then she rechecks my name and tells me its going to be $50 for consult. i told her i was told its free and she "no we dont do free". I showed her the sites and she gets confused and says well let me go and ask somebody. I told her dont bother, 1st you lie and tell me im late on cleaning, then you lie on phone, and both your website and FB lie, now you think im gonna let you drill into my jaw? Made an appointment due to pain in my teeth. My appointment was at 3pm, i arrived at 250pm. At 425pm had just been called back. There is a mask sign on the door but absolutely no one cared. There was kids uncontrolled in there walking up to people and kids snotty and coughing without a mask. There needs to be a visitor limit in that tiny office, not letting a patient bring 4 family members in with them that weren't being seen. The Dr I saw was very short with me. Took x-rays and stood over me and looked in my mouth and said ok we will message you when the insurance approves it. That next week it got worse and I went to another dentist who took amazing care of me and did my root canals right then and there. Finally no pain and absolutely will not be returning to Woodbridge smiles. Also we are in a pandemic, if you hear people coughing and snotty you need to send them home not risk every patient in that office. read more

I've been visiting this clinic for 3 years and they have consistently been very thorough and kind, and provided treatment up to par with the area's top dentists. They seem to be under reorganization, which could account for a bit if a messy office, but otherwise doctors and staff have been consistently great. Recommended. read more

I've been going here since 2015 and haven't had any problems until recently. My last visit I was told I hadn't paid my co pays for my last 3 visits, spanning over a year and a half. However I pay my co pays at the time of visit. Never received a bill in the mail, either. When I asked to see my account showing no payment the receptionist no longer pressed the issue that was April still haven't received an invoice. Next I requested my sons dental records for school purposes was told they don't release dental records but would send them to his school if they requested. Now I'm not in the dental field however that doesn't make any sense to me. You won't release a minor's records to his parent but will to the school??? Sounds shady to me. Horrible experience. 1st I was told I could get an emergency appt due to a broken wisdom tooth.i specifically asked if there was anyone there who did extractions they said yes. So my appt was at 12:30 I was there for almost 2 hrs just to be told I had to come back next week bc they didn't do these type of teeth. The person who did my panoramic x-rays didn't speak english or know how to work the machine,the lead jacket they put on ke kept falling off so I eventually had to hold it after they tried to use an office clip to secure it.Then she took me to a chair where she looked at my mouth & asked why I was here...Duh can't you see my broken wisdom tooth back there? ? Then she couldn't get the bite wings in the proper position for an x-ray so it kept hitting the painful tooth and I had to hold the machine still so she could get a good picture. I fell asleep in the chair after waiting so long.The DR comes in looks at it and says it's infected she can't take it out, I told her I'd been taking antibiotics for a week why can't she take it out. Apparently they only have a specialist on Saturdays. Bottom line I was given wrong info from the start,everyone there was new or training.It wasted my whole morning putting my work schedule behind & I'm still in pain. They gave me tylenol #3's!!! I have been taking vicodin that hasn't helped why would #3's do anything? I am going to my regular dentist tommorrow Shame on me I should have just waited but I was told I could get it out and it effing hurts. I will not be going back here for anything, the receptionist tried to say that bc it's infected the numbing meds wouldn't work...um no.The dentist there just do not do extractions they do basic stuff like cleanings & fillings. THIS IS A NO STAR!! THE WORST EVER! First off I went in for a cleaning. She said I had a few small cavities but overall great teeth I should just whiten them. COOL! so I filled two. During the filling she didn't say one thing to me about the cavities she literally just talked to the assistant about food. Any ways I get home and I can't chew on the side of the cavity I go back to find out the the filling is HUGE my whole tooth the other Dentist (not sure of names). She said I need a root canal & I declined. This is my first cavity EVER! (This tooth that allegedly had so much decay NEVER gave me an issue before I came.) so I come back a week later. Same pain and talk to the lady who did the filling WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE! She knew she was wrong she got super defensive and blamed me saying she told me the cavity was huge and it could be a 50/50 chance id need a root canal LIE! I didn't even know what a root canal was. We would have talked about that deeper and I would have expected the pain. I got my money back which was great although I still wanted the $23 or something like that they charged for the filling!!!! I had a 1:30 extraction appt, I showed up the RUDE receptionist told me "your appointment was at 1 o'clock" I said to her no and proceeded to show her a reminder text I had received that my appointment was at 1:30 pm. Her response was "I don't need to see that", I then started dealing with the other receptionist. She apologized for the confusion and let me know that I'd have to wait to be seen by the dentist. I simply thanked her and walked out. The dentists at this office may provide kind service, but if the first person we see (as a patient/customer) is rude than that just means we will not be returning. Yes, I was contacted about the poor service and the one receptionist provided a sincere apology. I appreciated that. They gave me a free cleaning on the house, which I also appreciated. But - they only did this because of my yelp review. And this is why they reached out to me to update the review. Sometimes...sometimes it's more than the review. It's more about the customer's relationship and whether they are willing to come back. Like I said in my earlier review, I doubt I will be returning. I went to this "dentist" hoping to get a regular cleaning with a coupon. The staff is not experienced and the dentist pressures you big time to get fillings, so called deep cleaning and wants you to sign on the dotted line. Then the dentist tells me I had 4 cavities and that was a total lie!!! I knew that I had to decline the filings and deep cleaning. I left that place so fast. Don't go to a dentist that has to send coupons to generate business. A reputable dentist doesn't need to do that. Your friends and family will have an honest referral. What I did next was go to my family dentist in Springfield and wanted his opinion. I had been going to him for over a decade and o my tried this new dentist because I moved to Woodbridge. Mind you I didn't have dental insurance. My family dentist called the scam place and they were refusing to give him a copy of the x-rays they took. Plus their recommendations. Dumpster fire. 1. I lost a filling, just need it replaced. 2. They convinced me that I needed a bridge instead. They took my insurance information and assured me that it was all covered. 3. The temp bridge they gave me fell out 2 times and i followed their instructions to the letter. 4. Perm bridge arrives. IT DIDN'T FIT. They did another cast and it took A MONTH for the 2nd bridge to arrive. THAT DIDN'T FIT EITHER so they hacked the hell out of the stubs of my teeth to get it in. 5. (The kicker) Now they tell me the entire insurance claim is denied and I owe them thousands. This dentist office preformed a service on my child that I explicitly told them I didn't want. Not only that, they insist that I pay for the mistake they made. I made it clear to the front desk what I wanted, they wrote it on her chart. The technician (who was very nice) looked at the chart, and apparently preformed a service that wasn't written on it. Then the same lady at the front desk I spoke with, came back at told me I'd have to pay for the service I didn't ask for, NOR did my child NEED! This place is a scam! read more
