While the staff and grounds of this inn/restaurant were lovely, the food was extremely disappointing - completely flavorless - had pecan crusted trout, meatloaf with Brussels sprouts, pork schnitzel with asparagus and red cabbage and fried green tomato sandwich. The Brussels sprouts were hard/undercooked, asparagus tasted burnt, the "gravy" was gelatinous "goo" and bacon on sandwich also burnt. Again everything did not taste like it was seasoned and to top it off it took about 40 minutes to arrive! read more

We used to enjoy Woodbridge, driving up from Atlanta to hit Gibbs Garden and then Jasper for lunch or dinner. Today's visit to Woodbridge was very disappointing I ordered salmon with a house salad and it was served raw. Uncooked. Yuck. The rest of the food was ok. Sometimes there are just no words....sometimes there are so many words that come to mind so fast you just can't get them out in a way that the other parties can interpret...so here I am two weeks after my experience at the Woodbridge Inn...I love you Woodbridge....With all of my heart....your food, amazing. Your staff, amazing. Chatting with the owners at the end of a fantastic evening, amazing. My husband and I met my in-laws for dinner and just taking in the overall look of the place while driving over that charming little bridge got me so excited...I was thrilled that we chose the Woodbridge to have a little family celebration! It is the cutest, my charming place! You just can't help but feel at home when you step on to the path to walk to the porch. Once you get in , the staff takes such great care of you! The service is by far the best we've had locally in a very long time! Between the owner greeting us personally to our exceptional server, we were very well taken care of! The food, oh my the food....so so so good... The scallop & shrimp stuffed trout (locally caught trout I may add) was perfection! The stuffing was a mushy fishy blob...It had texture and amazing flavors! The German Sausage Platter was delicious as well! The sausages were not greasy and fully of fat, but oh so full of flavor! The red cabbage was my favorite! I could eat that by the bucket-load! We ended our dinner with the table side bananas foster. I have never had that before but I'm pretty sure I'm glad I waited until this experience! It was so fun! The smell of brown sugar & bananas and the flames! It was so perfect! Inn needs attention. We had missing knobs on light switches and inside shower curtain had mold streaks. Bathroom facility was clean. Hairdryer was missing from holder and most travelers assume facilities will have one. Rug in room needed to be shampooed - black dirty spots in the carpet, missing blind slats to so blinds didn't completely cover the window. Dropped the remote on the floor and I discovered no cover over the remote's batteries so I went looking for the cover. The underside of the bed hasn't seen a vacuum for several months. Mattresses and covers need to be updated too. Restaurant was good, servers were stressed from the amount of guests that night and kept apologizing for being short staffed, also same complaint at lunch though there were less customers. More than two servers obviously were needed on both occasions. No breakfast at the Inn, but locals highly recommended restaurant in town within walking distance. Being this Inn is in a great location for our needs while we shop for a new residence, I'll probably come back. Hopefully we can get a first floor room rather than the ground level. Caution needs to be used on the stairs and the slippery, wet leaves. read more

3.5 This place is some of the best food in north Georgia! Loved everything the table got. Woodbridge filet, German meat/cheese board, Spatzle, Oysters Rockefeller, fried green tomatoes, and even the bread (upon request) was 5 stars. I give it a 3.5 just because they took forever. We got there at 5:35 and didn't leave until 8:15. Again, food was amazing but way too slow! If you have a time for a really long dinner with loved ones, I would highly recommend it! read more

Our first week in Big Conoe and we decided to give a visit to Jasper and try one of their better restaurant offerings. We saw the big water tower and inviting hotel and said let's try the Woodbridge Inn. Excellent choice as it turned out. What a friendly and inviting place. From the initial greeting as we walked up to the front door to the attentive services and finally to the fascinating discussion with Hans, the owner. Not realizing it when we walked in, the menus has a definite German influence, but better. The special this night was the prime rib, and it was special. My wife had the chicken schnitzel parmesan. Again, delicious. We finished our meal with a shared apple strudel that did not last long. All this and a 1/2 carafe of wine all for around $50. Wow. Great meal, great price, great service. We had an event at the Woodbridge Inn and Restaurant. The person who worked with us was very polite and very helpful, but that didn't carry over to our dinner. We had NY steak, chicken and Salmon - and was disappointed in the steak and chicken. Seemed the service or kitchen were very slow - it worked out with a lot of good conversation. I would hope dining in a smaller group the food would be much better based on the price. read more

My Mom is from this area and she has wanted to visit for a long time. Well, on the Thursday of Mother's Day weekend when I arrived in town, that's what we did. We were not disappointed. In fact, we loved the experience. From the appetizer, Oysters Rockefeller, to the entrees, rainbow trout and Wiener schnitzel. Our waiter, Breier, was delightful and we got to meet his lovely girlfriend, Maya, whose family owns the Inn. We will return again. Absolutely loved and used to go to the Woodbridge inn often when Joe was alive, but then it started to go down hill. Since I heard Hans hired a new chef this past month, I decided to give it a try one more time. Surprisingly, the food was fresh, creative, and a new taste on the old Inn. As I live in a foodie city, I think the Inn is coming back to life with the cat head biscuit grouper Benedict and fried green tomatoes. A wonderful meal to indulge in when I visit this quaint town. The chef is also very interactive with the customers, an excellent quality which meshes the kitchen and front of the house. It takes time to change and update a restaurant, but I think they've got the right idea, chef and service to return to its former glory and perhaps even better. All they need are the customers to visit again. Give it a second chance, you'll be happy you did! read more

This is one of the best German restaurants I've ever been too. Try the Jager schnitzel and the charcuterie board. Yum!! My daughter also had the vegetable plate and she said it was outstanding. First off it's cold outside and extremely cold inside, coffee barely warmed me up. New Year's Eve, it's felt like they didn't plan ahead. Menu looked great but by 7pm they were out of filet . Food was served room temperature and I feel our waiter was in training. I expected coffee to be included with the price point, but ALL drinks were extra. I do not get my hubbyis out often, he wants not happy thank gosh for friends otherwise an one hour dinner was way too long! ( it was 2-1/2 hours plus waiting for bill ). Idk if I'll come back, potential it has. For the $$, on New Year's Eve and getting out in unseasonable cold temperatures and a freezing room to eat dinner, someone is going to have to pay me to come back. Was there last weekend with a friend and had a wonderful meal. Since it's tradition is German we both had a German dish and was not disappointed at all. Would recommend if you haven't tried some of their German dishes to do so. As the Woodbridge has been around for such a long time local people need to continue to support it because it is a mainstay here in Jasper. read more

Their new blue plate lunch specials are absolutely fantastic. All the staff is quite friendly (though there's the occasional lazy leaner) I had the fried chicken, and my wife had the Woodbridge burger, both beautifully done. The owner came by with his new baby daughter and was very friendly to everyone in the dining room, whether he knew them or not! Highly recommended. We will definitely be coming back! read more

We hadn't dined at Woodbridge Inn for awhile but decided to return for dinner tonight--and we're very glad we did! The interior has been remodeled and updated since we were last there; the ambiance is warm and welcoming. The menu selections were varied and appealing. My fried green tomatoes were delish, my husband reported his dinner salad was excellent, and the French onion soup we both had was outstanding! Our server was the owner's daughter; she was very informed about the night's specials, attentive to us throughout our meal, and clearly (and justifiably) proud of her family's restaurant. We will definitely be back--and we won't wait so long next time! read more

Had dinner tonight with friends at The Woodbridge Inn. The service was excellent I had the pecan crusted trout it was very good with spinach and mashed potatoes. The best part of the meal however was the new salad romaine lettuce, real bacon and blue cheese with their new dressing sweet garlic vinegarette. It absolutely made the salad. After being in North Georgia to visit an apple orchard, we decided to stop at the Woodbridge Inn Restaurant on our way home for an early Sunday supper. I am incredibly glad we did. The food was fantastic and the service was incredible. The host and waitress were as polite, friendly, and helpful as possible. My son had "The German" (an assortment of sausages with sauerkraut and spaetzle); he really liked all of it. My daughter and I had the Champignon Snitzle (with mushroom sauce, spaetzle, red cabbage), and it was great! My husband had the pecan-crusted trout and claimed that it was the best he'd eaten. Don't pass up dessert! We had a creme brulee (amazing), flaming peaches (heavenly), apple strudel (excellent), and brownie with ice cream (very good). Driving toward Thanksgiving dinner with family in Atlanta, we stopped early afternoon here with our two kids. A great experience! Though we had no reservation and WI was serving complete Thanksgiving meals to a nearly full house, they very graciously managed to find us a table. Moreover, they not only allowed us to order a small "snack" instead of dinners, Matt the manager and Brooke the waitress helped us pick out just the right few items: a very fresh garden salad with house made sesame dressing, some delicious cheeses with crackers, and the tasty butternut squash soup. It was an ideal break for us and the kids to tide us over for the remainder of our trip. Matt was was friendly and made us feel most welcome even while busy with the packed house of Thanksgiving diners. The definition of great service! We would love to return here someday for a chance to enjoy a full meal and stay at the Inn. read more

I love the very fact that there is a German restaurant located in Jasper georgia. It is very authentic food in a cozy atmosphere. My wife and I had the pleasure of dining at The Woodbridge Inn on Thanksgiving. The past several years we dined at a popular restaurant in Atlanta where the wait was often 2 hours. After a pleasant 35 minute drive from Roswell we arrived at the Inn. Our reservation was for 2:00 but we were seated in 5 minutes at 1:45. As vegetarians we are accustomed to getting a "veggie plate" and having to pick from the veggie sides that do not have chicken stock, bacon etc. When we made reservations we asked about the vegetables and their preparation to make sure we would have something to eat other than pie and salad. Promptly after being seated the chef, Steve, arrived at our table. He told us about his vegan brother who also had difficulty finding suitable meals when dining out. Steve offered us a special vegetarian (vegan) meal. We had no idea what to expect until our meal arrived. A masterful plate with a generous serving of grilled tofu, caramelized chick peas, sweet pepper relish and locally sourced greens. Mildly spiced with curry and fennel every bite was a treat. Topping it off was the fresh pumpkin pie-made again from locally sourced pumpkins. We have dined at some of Atlanta finest restaurants and I cannot remember enjoying a meal more. Our server Kayla was welcoming, efficient and truly adorable. The manager Matt was also quite accommodating and personable. Steve came to see us afterward and was sincerely pleased that we had enjoyed his creation so much. It's fantastic to see someone accomplished, committed to his craft and also willing to accommodate the customer experience. The Butler family has found a new Thanksgiving tradition. We hope the tofu and caramelized chickpeas (and any other creative vegetarian or vegan dishes) will be added to the menu.
