This incredible bar is open 24 hours, making it an ideal refuge for weary explorers at nearly any hour. The live tiki band was fantastic and brought the entire place to life. The cocktail menu is enormous, resembling a map to dozens of forbidden islands, and every drink we tried was delicious, beautifully presented, and fairly priced--especially by Las Vegas standards. The dark tiki décor is extraordinary. Every shadowy corner contains something new to discover, with waterfalls, carved idols, shrunken heads, animated figures, and wonderfully sinister details. The place has unmistakable Disney-inspired showmanship, including creations connected to longtime Disney artists, but with a darker and far more mischievous personality. The merchandise is also extremely cool. There are shirts, mugs, and other treasures worthy of carrying home--although I strongly advise checking each item for ancient inscriptions before placing it in your luggage. Unfortunately, I ignored this precaution. After several powerful cocktails, I raised my glass to one of the idols and foolishly challenged it to prove its power. The drums stopped. The torches flickered. Something ancient entered my body. I awoke the next morning clutching a tiki mug, speaking a language unknown to modern scholars, and demanding that my hotel room be decorated with bamboo. The god still speaks through me whenever I smell rum. It commands me to return. The Golden Tiki is one of the most entertaining and immersive bars in Las Vegas. Come for the incredible décor, live music, delicious drinks, and excellent merchandise--but drink respectfully, traveler. The idols are always watching. Five stars. The god demands it.

This is such a cool bar on property at the Rio. It's a very Brazilian vibe in here and just so cool. The lounge seating is absolutely beautiful. Spelling). It was a great accompaniment to the steak. It came with house made fresh tortillas. We asked for extra jalapeños and hot sauce and they were very accommodating. I'm not much of a drinker so when I asked John, who is also a very talented mixologist, to make me something that tasted like juice, he delivered this beautiful lychee "martini". The presentation was amazing. And went well with my fish. They had me try the pickle drink. The foam on top was good and the "margarita" at the bottom was good too. I opted for a comfier lounge chair next to the bar and checked out the menu on the table. When I was ready to order, I went up to the bar. Which, if you've been to bars in general, they happily take your order and you wait and bring the drinks back to your seat. Well not at Vesper. Went up ready to order and the bartender asked where we were seated and said a waitress would come by and that we couldn't order with him. We sat, we waited 15-20 mins and no one came around. We waited long enough and decided it wasn't worth our money. If trying to get an order in was this difficult, can't imagine what the rest of the service is like.

From a killer cocktail recommendation to one of the best steaks I've had in my life and coming from Oklahoma City, where I work a mile away from the stockyards and can get great quality fresh beef six ways from Sunday, that's saying a lot. I usually despise most things truffle but if I was forced to eat that truffle mac and cheese every day for the rest of my life I would consider it a life well lived. We were at the Rio to see a show, and after the show decided we wanted to keep hanging out there and enjoying. At one of the bars we randomly stopped at on the property before the show, one of the bartenders gave us a buy one get one free cocktail for VooDoo Lounge if we went. And there was no cover charge to get in! Sold! We decided to head up there after the show. This spot is locaed on the 51st (I believe) floor of the hotel but you enter on the second floor and take an elevator up. After a quick check our IDs and search of our bags and whatnot, we were able to take the elevators upstairs. As soon as we got there, I booked it for the outside patio. I mean, come on, you have to! This is really what sold me. WOW! It's STUNNING up there! Amazing views on the Strip unlike anything I've ever seen before. There was also a DJ up there and he was playing great music. For a Friday night, it wasn't super busy, but still really nice. We were able to sit wherever we wanted, as the tables and lounge seating was totally open for everyone to enjoy. We took in the beautiful views and each had a cocktail. Our server was outstanding and did a great job waiting on us. Sadly, we were getting a Vegas thunderstorm underway so the DJ had to stop and security all ushered us inside. Still, nonetheless, this was such a cool experience and one I'll continue to talk about. It was a Saturday night at 9pm, we were greeted by very friendly staff both downstairs and upstairs. We went out to the terrace to enjoy the view and took over a lounge seating space. The 3 of us ordered a fishbowl which was great but we didn't stay longer because the place was empty and the DJ played the same beat for the entire hour we were there. It's a shame that this has gone so downhill. When I went to the bathrooms I noticed the water damage on the walls and the lack of maintenance so it sealed my fate to not return for a while. This used to be the spot but it's a little scary anywhere in the casino.
