It felt like the perfect mix of lounge and restaurant energy, making it great for both celebrations and date nights. The food was really good as well. We had the miso salmon, Hamachi fried rice tacos, Caesar salad, and shrimp, and everything came out fresh, flavorful, and well presented. The tacos were definitely one of my favorites and something I'd order again. I also appreciated their drink menu. They have a great variety of cocktails, but I especially loved that they offer non alcoholic drinks that still look and feel elevated instead of just being an afterthought. Overall, the service, atmosphere, and food made this a really enjoyable experience. You can tell a lot of thought went into the aesthetic and overall vibe of the place. The restaurant itself is visually appealing and the ambiance is great. We went on a Monday at 6:45 so that may explain some of the issues we had. There was a lack of staff. Our server was also the bartender and host. This caused slower service, especially being seated, due to there only being one employee in the front of the house. We witnessed a few couples arrive and leave due to not being seated in a timely manner. We ordered a few alcoholic cocktails and they were decent. Just good enough to justify the price. The main issue we had was with the food. There were 2 people in my party and we were seated next to a party of 3. We noticed our appetizer portions were smaller compared to theirs and there's nothing to justify it other than group size. Ex: We ordered sliders and received 2 whereas they ordered sliders and received 3. We ordered tuna tacos and received 3 whereas they ordered tuna tacos and received 4. They were clearly not ordering additional orders or it would've been double. After looking through some pictures on Yelp you can clearly see different portion sizes throughout. We felt as if it's due to group size and them potentially trying to save here and there. Although I arrived at 9:20 PM, I found the host stand unattended. Despite the "wait here to be seated" sign, no one greeted me for fifteen minutes. At 9:35 PM, I entered the dining room to find assistance. While an associate acknowledged my reservation and offered to set up the table, he never returned to get me. I eventually had to return to the dining area to flag someone down again before my group was finally seated at 9:45 PM. On a positive note, the ambiance and decor were excellent. Our waiter, Nello, was personable and funny, significantly improving our experience. Regarding the food, we found the teriyaki tacos and the bang bang tempura cauliflower to be underwhelming. Had my daughter not had a birthday, I would never have known about this enjoyable place. Location is right off of Decatur Blvd near the China Town neighborhood but the building does not stand out so I have never noticed it. When we first walked in there was no greeting but my daughter told me that is not unusual as she has dined here a couple of times with friends. While waiting to be seated, we noticed that there was a networking event going on. While kind of a pain to have to listen to someone tell their business story, we managed to get by and the event ended pretty quickly once we were seated. Apparently this place used to be all vegetarian and recently began adding meat dishes to their menu. All the dishes lean towards Asian cuisine which we all love. Lots of great choices and we ended up going with the Cucumber Salad, Short Rib Teriyaki over pureed potatoes, Yaki Street Noodles, Chicken Gyoza, and the Short Rib Shredded Tacos. My daughter had her own dishes all vegetarian. Everything was very tasty. Restaurant is a nice size including a small bar area. Lighting is dim to enhance the experience. Service was wonderful as the restaurant was not very busy and it was a week day night. Ambiance was so perfect. She also waited on all the tables (more ppl came in after us) and we never felt neglected. More of maybe a 3.4... I came here on a Monday night and it wasn't too packed. Parking was pretty small but it wasnt hard to find parking the time I came. This place markets itself as a fine dining experience. The ambiance is amazing with its unique decor. It kind of reminds me of Tao on the strip. Asian inspired decor with some water and floral aspects. It's definitely a nice date spot. The seating was also very comfortable. The service was nice but nothing extraordinary. It also took awhile for the food to come out. The appetizers ordered came out first. Scallop 7/10: the first two pieces I ate had a fishy aftertaste but the rest of the dish was delish! Good balance of umami and citrus. Brussel sprouts 7/10: cripsy and light. However a bit salty. Also some pieces were overly burnt. But the flavor was not bad. Spicy tuna tacos 6.5/10: the fish wasn't fishy but I felt like the dish was lacking something to complete the flavor profile. The taco had a good crunch but felt a little dry? The main dishes came out shortly after. Short rib 9/10: this was probably the star of the show. It broke apart nicely, no knife needed! The flavor was also so good. I believe it was a teriyaki sauce. If cams with mash potato on the bottom which I enjoyed. Creamy and smooth! This was prob the best dish of the night! Oxtail fried rice 7.5/10: the rice was almost like sushi rice grain which I enjoy. It was a very light dish. My partner felt like it wasn't enough seasoning but I thot was not bad. It came with some pieces of oxtail but they weren't as tender as I hoped for it to be. Yaki street noodles 3/10: this dish was a miss for us. The texture of the noodles felt like they were reheated in the microwave. A bit stale feeling? And the flavors were not there for me. It was lacking in complexity. I also paid an extra maybe $5 for shrimp, and it only came with about 3 pieces :(. sadly we didn't finish the dish and didn't care to take it to go either. Steak and frites upgraded $5 more for truffle fries 4/10: (fries in the dish was a 10/10 lol) the fries were super addicting. I like how it was thin and crispy. Truffle flavor was so light I could barely taste it. So I wouldn't recommend upgrading. The steak was cooked to a medium but it was really chewy... however the peppercorn sauce it came with was good. Sadly the chewiness of the beef kinda ruined the dish for me. Lastly I got the ube crème bulee 6/10: I think it was too dense for me. I like it when the crème bulee isn't too heavy and not too sweet. I also didn't taste much of the ube flavor. The dessert itself is sweet only bc of the sugar on top. But the rest of it is not too sweet. Overall the food was okay, but for a fine dining experience it is subpar. Resturant had good vibes. Service was okay. I did come during happy hour which meant some dishes were 50% off. We didn't have a reservation which was okay because we arrived when they opened and they took us in! From the outside I wasn't expecting much as it's next to a 7-11 but oohhh do not let that fool you on the location. There is limited parking in the front but there is more towards the back of the restaurant. The inside of this space is ridiculous beautiful!! It feels like I'm dining at a restaurant on the strip!! Saffron Lounge, a tale with a troubled identity. The billboards, heavy advertisement and polished internet image would lead one to believe that Saffron Lounge was on their "A" game and tearing up the dining game in Vegas. Last night we made reservations and were greeted into a beautiful establishment. A highly refined interior decor with breathtaking esthetics, lighting, colors and vibe that eluded excitement that this was the place. The magnificent custom lighting structure is unbelievable. The soothing water feature in the center look more like a movie set than a dining establishment. The interior design really shined. We sat in a red velvet booth and were excited to be here. There were less than 20 dinners and only two staff, each being utilized as hostess, bartender, server and and buser. A tall gentleman, appeared to be owner or chef was flittering around the restaurant with an influencer, event planner and table of 4 young ladies celebrating a birthday and apparently knew him. We ordered the cucumber salad with ume vinegarette and plum salt. This was hands down the best choice of the night with crisp edges, great taste and lightly salted. Pita with yuzu hummus, chili oil and crudite was beautifully displayed. The hummus was bland, lacked flavor and tasted like it came from the deli counter at a local supermarket. The big bang shrimp was tempura prepared with gochujang aoili, yuza and chives. Over battered and tasted like frozen, this was a total flop. Our final selection was the Yaki street rice noodles with chili oil, blistered veggies and citrus finish. We added chicken to this dish. Barely warm noodles, over sauced, awful taste and the sliced pre cooked chicken was room temperature and dry. It was the worst noodle dish I've ever had and only ate two bites. Saffron Lounge is a disaster, the chef or owner who was bouncing around needs to take charge here and train the staff. Focus needs to be directed on the terrible product they are serving. First of all, serving utensils need to be delivered with each dish, common etiquette in dining. A knife is needed with room temp dry chicken strips as the fork was not adequate to cut. We waited 15 minutes after our table was cleared to get our check. This is truly the "tale of 2 images", a beautiful facility with really bad food and service. If Saffron is to survive, changes need to be implemented ASAP, management needs to wake up. read more

I think the worst part of the experience for me was how the walls emitted the small of acetone from the beauty supply store next door which really irritated our nostrils and even caused my brother a headache. This is my first time coming in after Saffron changed management and menu-- and I will say that I will now be coming back. Same ambience, but now I feel like the food matches the atmosphere. Although previously known as vegan restaurant (nothing wrong with that), Saffron now has a new AND improved menu. For starters/appetizers I'd recommend trying the Beef Tartare, Hokkaido Scallop Tiradito or the Hamachi Thai Citrus. For entrees, loved the Chilean Sea Bass or Steak Frites. Not sure how we're able to fit in dessert in our already full bellies, but the Gingerbread Bread Pudding was chefs kiss. This restaurant is gorgeous--such a great spot for a date, event, or even a business meeting. Service was quick and elevated. My friends and I came here to catch up over some tasty shareable plates. I've wanted to go here for a while and finally did with some friends. the food was absolutely amazing, the atmosphere was nice, and service was great. Started off with some chicken wings for the table and they were awesome for starting off the dinner with. Falls right off the bone and the perfect amount of sauce. I then got the tartare which was a nice surprise. I was expecting a more traditional tartare but this was an asian inspired one and it tasted great. The ribeye was perfectly cooked and the sauce and seasoning gave it a good kick without taking away from the flavor of the beef which is hard to find. Once I heard there was crème brûlée I knew I had to get it and it did not disappoint. It was the kind of consistency you want from a good crème brûlée and tasted even better than that. Service was great. One of the tables my party was sitting at was wobbling and they switched it out for us quickly. The restaurant lives up to its name. The vibe it gives off is like a club lounge that you want to have a good time at. I definitely want to go back just to experience some live music there. I had a really disappointing experience here. We arrived about an hour and a half before closing and still were not seated until 15 minutes later. During that time, no one greeted us or even acknowledged us. Staff clearly saw us waiting but chose to ignore us, and the manager or owner just stood there without saying a word. What made it worse was that the restaurant was nearly empty. They only had about three tables with customers. Once we were finally seated, things did not improve. We were not given menus until later, and even getting water and a soda took over 10 minutes. The food service was completely disorganized. Dishes came out at random times. Our salad came after hot food, and everyone's entrees arrived separately instead of together. My dish, miso salmon, came out raw. Not slightly undercooked, but raw. If I wanted raw fish, I would have gone to a sushi restaurant. The only person who apologized was our server. The most concerning part about the service was the server suggesting to the chef to keep cooking the same fish I had already cut into. That is a basic food safety issue. You should never re serve food a customer has already handled. It shows a serious lack of proper food handling practices. The cook did end up using a new fish, but the fact that this was even considered is concerning. When they remade the dish, it came back dry on the outside and still raw inside, like it had been rushed on high heat. Afterwards, the chef was walking around chatting with other tables, and the manager appeared more focused on drinking than addressing issues. No one in management took responsibility or showed any concern, and it clearly reflects in how the staff operates. It explains why the place was so empty. The restaurant itself is nice, but the lack of basic customer service and professionalism. Food cuisines is very scattered not sure what the restaurant specializes in. Save your money and go somewhere else. This was not worth the time, money, or experience. You'll have a better experience at herbs and rye. read more

With only one other occupied table, it felt like we had rented the entire place. Saffron's beautiful deco along with the cushioned booth seating makes it a great spot for hanging out with friends or going on a date. It would have been a nice touch if they offered a complimentary dessert for our friend's birthday, as many other restaurants do. The service was impressive, considering there was only one server who also doubled as the bartender for the entire night. She had great energy and professionalism, though her bartending skills could use some refinement. Panna Still Bottle ($10): I don't understand how restaurants justify charging this much for still water... Lotus Blossom Martini ($17): Made with Grey Goose Pear, Hana Sake, fresh lychee, and lime. It was just okay for me; those who enjoy sake might appreciate it more. Champagne Barbie ($18): A mix of Grey Goose Le Poir, Bacardi Dragonfruit, strawberry puree, lemon juice, and edible glitter. Sweet, fruity, and pretty--what more could you ask for? The best cocktail of the night! Saffron Smoked Manhattan ($18): House-infused saffron whiskey, Sweet Vermouth, and orange bitters, garnished with Luxardo Cherry. Despite the beautiful presentation with the glass dome & swirling smoke, the taste was disappointing and didn't resemble a proper Manhattan. We considered having it remade but opted not to. Charred Brussel Sprouts ($15): Wok-tossed in a house-made fig jam & garnished with lemon zest. Delicious and a great way to include greens in the meal. Honey Glazed Chicken Lollipops ($17): Chicken brined in a special house sauce, deep fried, & glazed in sticky honey yakitori. It sounded better than it tasted and the chicken meat was too dry for me. Saffron Satay Spears - Shrimp ($24): This came with two grilled shrimp skewers in a sweet & smoky yakitori served with two slices of Saffron infused focaccia. The shrimp was overcooked and didn't seem to be marinated long enough for the flavors to come through so they tasted like your basic grilled shrimp. Bang Bang Shrimp ($18): Large battered shrimp, better than the Saffron Satay Spears but not as good as RA Sushi's version. The batter was too thick and didn't stick well to the shrimp. Peking Tacos ($18) + Extra Taco ($7): These tacos were small so $18 for 6 is pricey. We had 4 people so the server said she would add another one for us; it sounds like it was going to be complimentary but she charged us. (Also, how is it $7 instead of $6?) Now for the tacos themselves, they were made with crispy wonton shells filled with citrus-brined duck, pear slaw, feta, and spicy mango aioli. Unfortunately for me, the duck was dry, and the crispy wonton shell overpowered all the other ingredients. Skirt Steak Stack ($28): Grilled medium-rare skirt steak with sugar-soaked Fresno peppers and Maldon salt. Although the presentation of the dish was nice, the steak wasn't as juicy as I hoped for, and the portion size was small. Filet Fenom ($36): A 10-ounce medium-rare filet mignon atop creamy mashed potatoes with red wine reduction. More tender than the skirt steak and paired well with the potatoes. Portion size was bigger as well so I would easily recommend this dish over the skirt steak stack. Pork Belly Fried Rice ($14): One of the best dishes of the night, despite being on the wetter side for fried rice. Our family enjoyed this hidden gem so much. The food was amazing and exceptionally very delicious. Staff was awesome and friendly. We got the hamachi, crispy rice, bang shrimp, tsUmami burger, lamb chops, and ribeye. The vibe is elegant and perfect for any date night or night out or even just going out to eat. The price is so great for the taste and ambiance. Drinks were also great. Special mentions for the ribeye and lamb chops, they melt in your mouth and the flavor is just so amazing. We would definitely be back and we for sure recommend this place 100%. This place deserves more recognition because it far surpasses many restaurants on the strip. read more

When walking in you are greeted to a large waiting room in a dark-atmosphere. Its a weird parking lot for such a "fancy" restaurant, so it took a minute. The ambiance as you walk in is beautiful. The high ceilings add so much open-ness. We agreed on this place for a Monday night since they were doing a 50% off for locals, so we decided to order everything we wanted. Here is what we got: Apps: 1. Seared Gyoza: opted for the veggie ones over pork. The veggies were so flavorful and the crispy garlic was top notch. 2. Peking Tacos: These were refreshing and such a great bite. I'm sad it came with 3 since it was hard to split. 3. Honey Chicken Lollipops: these have a very crispy exterior, but unfortunately it made it super dry on the inside too. I didn't love it 4. Hamachi Crudo: i loved the candied jalepeno, but for the price to the bite- it wasn't worth it. I did like how fresh it was. Main: Crispy Pesto Gnocchi: i loved the flavor of pesto. I would take out the word crispy. Not really crispy, but more savory and melty. Sides: 1. Green Beans: these were a huge miss. No flavor whatsoever and the breadcrumb topping made it even more dry 2. Truffle Fries: these were flavorful and hot. I loved the crisp and the amount of cheese. 3. Charred Brussel Sprouts: the citrus and char was beautifully matched. I loved this side with everything. 4. Creamy Polenta: it was okay. The lemon flavor is found throughout, but it wasn't exciting 5. Pork Belly Fried Rice: i love a good fried rice and although it had good chunks of pork, it was lacking flavor. It needed some more pepper almost. Checked out a new spot while in Vegas and loved it! The vibe was amazing--high ceilings, stylish décor, and that perfect touch of Vegas energy. The inside is Stunning! (The outside, not so much. hahahaha!) Absolutely Beautiful inside. Love the vibe and ambiance, and service was very good. The cocktails are creative and tasty. Be careful if you are driving. It's easy to suck down several of these before you know what hit you. Highly recommend a taxi/Uber/Lyft. The food was ok, but nothing super WOW for us. They had several options for meat eaters and non-meat eaters. This is nice since so many people have very different eating styles. We are both so we tried a couple meat dishes and one non-meat dish. The steak tartare was overly seasoned for our liking as we actually like to taste the meat. And the texture of the meat was a little too "soft/mushy". I prefer it to have a bit more "bite/texture" to it. The Filet Mignon was similar to the steak tartare in that the texture was a bit too soft/mushy for our preferences. It was prepared at the temperature requested and beautifully presented. The vegetarian noodle dish I ordered was filling and flavorful with lovely noodles. However, the dish was super oily which was a little off-putting, so I didn't finish the dish once I got midway through it. Definitely would go back to chill with some cocktails. read more

Came here for Bar Not Far/Okay At Alcohol's bar takeover for the drinks, and stayed for the food and service! We got the chicken gyoza, wagyu sliders, beef tartare, and oxtail fried rice.
