Food is 10/10, service is great! Highly recommend. They have a cute outdoor seating area with a fire. Good vibes! Would come again!

The food was amazing!!! Do I want to drive back up from Katy, Texas to have another taco? Absolutely!! I'm still dreaming of the best beans I've ever had and the roasted cauliflower tacos just hit the spot soo much!! Definitely a stop if you are in Yellowstone/cook city.

I would travel from South Dakota just for the steak taco! So much value for $8. They also were very accommodating for family/grandchildren.

Knew we weren't going to find a lot of food options in Yellowstone, so chose to stop at the Beartooth Café before entering. Cooke city is a cute little town that was hopping at the end of August. We did have to wait 10 or 15 minutes for a table, but there is a cute souvenir shop right next-door that kept us busy while we were waiting. The restaurant staff is super friendly and helpful, and the food really hit the spot. We were grateful for the chance to get something good to eat and use the restroom before heading into the park. They also have a gas station so we could fill up and not have to worry about that either. If this is the route you were taking on your visit to Yellowstone, I would definitely recommend a stop here!

Food was a simple and yummy find across from our motel. My burger was charred just right, the bun wad very dry; the side salad was deliciously crisp. My hubby enjoyed a juicy steak with mashed taters and veggies. This is a must stop when passing through this quaint town. Tip-be aware, no cell service anywhere in this town and WiFi is hard to find. This was a shock to us, never heard of such a thing!!!

My wife and I mistakenly drove 45 minutes or so in the wrong direction , left the park thinking we would loop back to yellowstone lake and back down to the Grand Tetons.... turned into a happy accident because we had a great breakfast at the log cabin cafe. Very small menu but everything is scratch made with love. The thick cut house made hash browns are the best ever, the waitress said they soak the potatoes in a brine and you can taste the love!!. My wife ordered the french toast and it was excellent! This tiny little spot is literally a log cabin and has some nice taxidermy and all the country charm you could ask for. Location is incredible, surrounded by majestic mountain scenery. If you are visiting lamar valley to check out the Bison , do yourself a favor and get lost like we did and go to silver gate for breakfast or lunch!! Our server was a very sweet young lady who was very pleasant. Loved your restaurant , Thank you !!

Our other orders were the bison burger special and the "juicy lucie" burger with fries and tots. Both burgers were fresh and well prepared and the sides were served hot and crisp. The restaurant is in the Soda Butte Lodge and the whole space is in need of some updates, but don't let that turn you off. If fine dining was your priority, you probably wouldn't be in Cooke City to begin with. It seems to be family run and the hospitality industry execution may be a work in progress but the service was friendly and accommodating. The young lady tending bar / servicing tables was entertaining in her matter-of-fact engagement. Did i mention the curry...?

I wish I would've used the restroom before i ordered because I would've just left. Black carpet and it felt like an 80s horror movie where the restrooms were located. We ordered a Reuben and the cheese steak. Reuben came without sauce and the pastrami was over grilled or honestly could have been out of date. The cheese steak didn't fare any better. Onion rings and tots were fried to oblivion in old cooking oil. Plastic utensils, empty condiment bottles and mustard and mayo packets on the table like a food cart place. I hate to bash family run places, especially in small towns where tourism is what they have to rely on but we are just hoping that we don't get food poisoning from our lunch today. Avoid this place like your gut depends on it. Hot dog dude across the street, Sup Dog, was a much better choice after we couldn't finish half our meal. A health department check is probably in order for this place. A one star review because yelp doesn't allow no stars.

Run by the sweetest and friendliest couple we've met on our journey to the rockies, the Silver Gate BBQ is a special spot because it's *not* a fancy sit down restaurant with permanent furniture. It's not even a quaint cafe out in the wilderness. What it is is two genuine folks, oozing with love for their food and home, cooking up a storm in a bear-proof stall that's in their front yard with lawn chairs as seating on the side...and it's one of the most memorable things we encountered on the trip. Going by the google maps location got us to where they're situated; you'll likely pass by them if you're driving in/out of Silvergate anyway, but as you're coming out it's right at the edge of town before you hit all the other buildings on the left. Just look for that bright yellow trailer! The husband gave us some grand advice to take a look at the Beartooth Highway since we were out in this direction, which given how scenic that drive is I can absolutely vouch for that it was a great decision to embark on. Not something you'd get coming from all the other food spots we've been to, but it's just generally wholesome hearing about the area from the couple here that they both know so well. In terms of food offerings the BBQ is legit good, with only one kind of BBQ sauce that I swear beats out most places I've been to anywhere, let alone just Yellowstone. Excellently balanced sweetness, heat, and acidity. We ordered from them several times since it was just such a delight. ==Triple Delight - 5/5 Layered up pulled pork, BBQ sauce, baked beans, with slaw and some texas toast on the side. It was pretty damn amazing, and I don't say that lightly. The slaw was a lovely fresh mince, diced quite finely with a lightly sweetened touch. The bean/sauce/pork combo was decadent goodness and the toast was perfectly toasted with just enough butter. ==Elk Brat - 5/5 Simple but glorious, spiced and seasoned heavily but not as heavy on the gaminess as I expected. Recommended to dip in with some BBQ sauce on the side and it was perfect just with that. Since they knew we were splitting it up they even cut up the brat for us and brought it out really fast to keep it piping hot. I'm pretty sure we got an additional Keto Bison Plate, but I forgot to take a picture of it since we were on the move and it was just too easy to pile into the deliciousness. We also bought some huckleberry preserves I noticed didn't have any corn syrup in it; turns out they're just selling it at cost since they know the dude who makes it and they like it! Did I mention how sweet they are yet?
