To my amazement given the size of the store Becky, the owner, carries a wide variety of selections, where some of the frames start from $30. Yes, $30! And she carries Asian fit frames from Korea for all you Asian fit faces ;) If anyone knows me, they know I like options and unique frames and she has both! Glasses are ready within a day or two- so convenient! If you don't need your lenses thinned, the prices are great. A huge plus: if you don't have your current prescription handy, Becky can read your prescription off your current glasses- so convenient! Becky is sweet, helpful, and friendly! Don't let the fact that Woori Optical is located in the market, fool you. They may not have the largest selection but what they do have, are enough options to suit your needs. Most importantly, they carry Korean made frames. Why is this important? You see, we Koreans have big ass heads. That's right. I wear a men's large in hats. Most European and American brands make their frames too narrow so the glasses are just too small for my big ass head. Korean brands tend to make frames that are a bit wider so it gives the illusion that your big ass head is not so big. Also, they are extremely lightweight so after hours of wearing them on your big ass head, they don't hurt the bridge of your nose or around your ears. The best part of it all is they are cheap ass f*ck and also surprisingly stylish. Not stylish in a Kim Kardashian cheesy kinda way but that dorky, cool, dance around your apt listening to Joy Division, bopping your big ass head around, kinda way. If you need an examination, they will take you upstairs and do it on site for free with purchase. Depending on what you need, and what kind of lenses you want, you can walk out of there spending around a hundred bucks or so. After I purchased mine a few months ago, my dude wanted to get a new pair for himself to match his dorky architect big ass head, too. After trying on Pradas and blah blah blah... He finally tried on the Korean brand and "Voila!!" It fit his big ass head!!! He ended up paying a lot more for his because he got those pricy lenses that can make you see thru walls and people like Superman. I'm pretty sure Superman got his glasses here for his big ass head, as well. Oops... I mean, "Clark Kent". Anyway, I only deducted a star because you might have a communication problem with the sweet lady that runs it. She doesn't speak the best engrish but she's very sweet. Be patient. I found myself in a bind, my glasses had run the gambit and I was desperate to get a new set of specs that I could actually afford since I do not have insurance. The first time around I went to one of those chain stores, we'll call them Cleanse Blasters, and let's just say they not only screwed me pricewise but then I also had to wait TWO WEEKS for my glasses to boot! This time around I decided wasn't gunna get fleeced and so I decided to check Yelp for some help in getting my new set of eyes. After cruising around looking at reviews I came across Woori Optical. Now being that I live in Fullerton but was in Whittier at the time and they are in L.A., I knew it was gunna be a haul and a half and getting home at rush hour was gunna suck but I figured it was worth the gamble and boy was I right! Woori Optical is located inside the Little Tokyo Market Place, it's a free standing counter with a huge array of frames and goods. The lady who helped me was very nice and super helpful. After a brief conversation about my vision and what I was looking for, it was determined I needed a vision test. She took me to another area away from her stand which had all off her equipment to do an exam. After going through all the tests and what not, she came up with my prescription. We discussed all of my options and I decided to go with a basic set up. We went back downstairs to her storeplace and I looked at frames. She pulled out several options for me to check out and once I decided on the pair I liked she began to work on my glasses. She does the work right there on the premises while you wait! She got the lenses dialed in, popped 'em into the frames, had 'em all polished and in a nice case for me all in about an hour and for the cost of $80!!!! I am soooo glad I found this place, it was soooo worth the drive and I highly recommend going to check them out the next time you need a new set of glasses! read more
