World Buffet - Albert Pike Rd (Hot Springs) If you're looking for local delicious sushi... this is one spot! Their Sushi Bar was very presentable and it all tasted very delicious. I stopped by to get my To-Go Order and they let you fill up To-Go tray by the pound. I was so hungry that I really loaded up. However, despite being hungry, their selection was lacking. They do offer great selection of dessert items. Half the restaurant was empty. Maybe I caught them at slow time of day. I was able to load up on some food items. But, the most I loaded up on was their very presentable and great large selection of tasty sushi. I would definitely return here, just for their sushi. It tasted like great quality. The owners were friendly and had good customer service. Despite their lacking on food selection, I don't come here often, so it wouldn't be fair to assume that it's like this on regular basis. Well I guess it made a turd.... Traveling for business, a colleague and I stopped in here today. Big place, good reviews, so we tried it. So disappointed. Place seemed decently clean, waiter was nice and courteous, picked up the tables quickly. Food items were either tasteless, over fried, dry and old rice for 11:30 noon meal. Stopped by during the eclipse weekend in April. I feel like I should go back and take a star away from every other Buffet that I've ever visited. This place was AMAZING. The entire family of four agreed on that, and we rarely all agree on anything. First off, the small selection of sushi was of a great variety, tasted fresh, and was delicious. No need to make 30 different rolls, the half dozen or so types they had out were of good variety and delicious. RIBS - holy cow, maybe I've never been to enough southern Asian buffets, but they had ribs out on the buffet and honestly they were some of the most fall-off-the-bone ones I've had in ages and were delicious. I almost forgot where I was and just ate plate upon plate of them, but soon I was prompted to go on to other dishes. For the most part, if an Asian buffet can serve me a couple of good dishes to go along with the sushi and soup and other side things, that's all good. No, this place wasn't having that. From sesame chicken to the Genral Taos to the three different types of shrimp dishes (pineapple was amazing!!!), to some beef and broccoli. I ran out of room in my stomach before I ran out of good dishes! Well, not quite: I HAD to have dessert. They had an Oreo pie that was divine, with cookies & cream ice cream on the bottom and whipped cream on top. There also was a strawberry cheesecake that was half strawberry cake, then an inch-thick layer of cheesecake with strawberry compote on top. The kids went back for seconds of soft-servce ice cream. There was just so so so much. It's been ages since I couldn't try all that I wanted to try at a buffet. So so so much looked good and everything I tasted was yummy. Unbelievable price for a dinner buffet $15. Went on a Friday night. Restaurant was busy. I had potstickers, sushi, and cold shrimp. All were good. Dessert bar was good . Soft serve ice cream, cookies, cakes, pie. Bathroom was clean but near closing time they slashed water all over the bathroom floor and didn't wipe it up. They said they were cleaning the floor. We arrived a little late but they got us seated immediately. Service was fast and they did check in often for drinks. Friendly as well. Tons of food options with different genres of food. This buffet is fair at best. I will not make the 30 mile drive to eat here again. There were 2 things that stood out. (¹) It's very clean (²) The wait staff is great! Above that, the food is typical buffet. Nothing stands out. The price was in line with other buffets, that's good I guess. I would rather give it 2.5 stars but can't. It maybe a 3 if you add the sweets bar.... yeah that'll be the other .5 star. Final thought: Save your hard earned money and go somewhere else. You can thank me later. read more

I love Asian food we wanted something quick but not fast food on the way out of town. When we pulled up the parking lot had lots of cars so that was a good sign. But I was throughly impressed everything was cooked fresh it was clean and everything I tried was amazing for being buffet food. The service was amazing drinks never even got half full waitress even offered to take our check to the front and get up Togo cups. The desserts surpassed the expectations for a buffet the Oreo pie and even the frozen yogurt was good quality and delicious. The sushi was fresh and good variety as well. I was here in mid April not long after the eclipse. Didn't get back home to California until August, a 13,000 mile, seventeen week road trip. In the course of the trip, I ate at countless buffets across the country. This one was hands-down the best of them all. The food is mediocre at best. The staff, however are lacking. Don't get me wrong, they'll keep your drinks filled and trash off the table. But, they'll also take your plate (without asking) while you're still eating it. This has happened to me and people I've dined with more than once. And once they bring the bill (even if you're in the middle of dinner) they expect it paid right then, even though the register where you pay is literally on the way out. The food here was better than most buffets from my hometown. The service was slow, but that could just be because we went during the dinner rush and we were unfortunate enough to encounter some of the local wildlife who couldn't seem to get a hold on their kids. Their presence alone caused a strain on the workers, so I'm willing to forgive the slow service. The large variety of food was hot and delicious, however, and they even provided cones for the ice cream machine, which is a first in my buffet experiences. What a great place to find on a Tuesday night in the off season! Our drinks were delivered right away and we started digging in to the buffet. Way too much to choose from but we did our best. Important, they have a la carte entrees besides a buffet (for those who don't like buffets) which are quite good, very low priced with a large quantity and you just pay for what you eat and because of that gave it a little higher rating, important as many people would avoid a buffet or go with someone who may not like them, you can get a buffet and they can order a la carte. It also has a more class interior, look at the beautifully etched glass by some of the booths. Most buffets don't have the best quality food simply because they are not cooked fresh, but there is a lot of variety here (for those who don't like Chinese food they have pizza and garlic bread), simple sushi rolls (not the more expensive kind that has sashimi fish on rice, ) fresh salads and of course because you can eat all you want, it's a good value. They have a Mongolian wok where you hand a bunch of raw meats and vegetables to a cook on a large round grill (although no cook seem to be present,) NOT a hibachi which is a grill you put in the middle of a table and cook yourself. I would stick to the more expensive offerings of seafood and skip the greasier deep fried food and oversalted spare ribs. As for the negative reviews they were written years ago, and the more positive reviews were written recently. The hostesses at the front desk, d are from the southern district of China, so they're not rude but not the friendliest, but the wait staff is very nice, clearing plates and filling drinks in a timely manner (leave them at least something.) read more
