I'm in love with world famous grill. Every dish that I've tried so far has left me dancing in my seat. The burgers are juicy and perfectly cooked. The breakfast options are classic and well done. And the business owners are just some of the loveliest people. This is their passion and you can see it in their food. I'm so glad they opened shop in Downey. We've had the pleasure of eating in their bell location (which is worth visiting) but this one is much closer. And did I mention their salsas?! You have to try their salsas. I was a bit disappointed with my visit today. It has been a while since I've visited World Famous and I couldn't wait to have a beef shawarma wrap. When I entered, the service I received from the young lady was unfriendly and very serious, not welcoming at all. In addition, my shawarma wrap was very small and not closed right. There was a lot of room at the bottom of the wrap that was left unfilled. Overall, my visit was underwhelming, not how I remembered it. They have good sauces! But that's it. Got the beef shawarma wrap and a plate with every meat to give this place an honest try. Not really impressed, incredibly tiny portions for what they're charging. Food was heavily salted and when I say heavily, my hands pretty much swelled up later that day from the water retention of the high amounts of salt. Holy cow! where to begin? This place has been one I have been trying to visit while back in Downey from Oregon, and I am so pleased I had 20 minutes to spare because this place did not disappoint! The service was 5 stars when going up to the counter to order and the gentlemen is a gentle soul to speak with. I didn't get his name but from the reviews I am Assuming he's Ali (correct me if I am wrong l) because others talk great things about his service:) The food was amazing I can't say try this or that because honestly I am guessing everything is delicious because 3 different plates not one thing wrong with any. I had the chicken rolls they were nice a crispy by far best chicken rolls I have had. The other plates were a steak wrap and philly fries. The fries were, omg, just freaken try them! any of the "carne asada style" fries will be bomb I promise you! The gentlemen even came up to ask how it all was which makes you feel appreciated coming in to buy a meal not many places are like that. That sauce they make it's like a secret sauce or something because I never had it and it was just the right amount of spice it was super favorable:p Now when it came to the dessert we tried, I had no room for it but after getting to try his mothers recipe this creamy osmaliyeh which is a sweet and crispy pasty, holy cow :0 thank God I got to try it because now I am hooked and I am not a dessert person at all! My husband and I were looking for a different place to eat and came across this place. We both ordered the Kabob Combo- IT WAS DELICIOUS!!! and I mean Everything, even down to their sauce and rice. AMAZING! The guy even gave us a sample of their desert (I believe it was Baklava) and OMG! It was soo yummy! Everything here hit the spot! Always drove by their Bell location but never ventured in. Finally got to try it now that they opened a location in Downey closer to home and OMG it is so good!!! Everything on their menu just looks so delicious! Food is so fresh, meat marinated just right and I'm not a big rice eater but their rice is so dame good. Besides the fact that their food is on point, they have great customer service. The gentleman who helped us was patient enough to explain several items on the menu and even let us sample their baklava. Glad they opened this location and my wife and I will definitely go back! This new place is pretty good and plan to go back. A wide variety of food from Mediterranean to Mexican and burgers/fries. It is walk up fast casual and the cashier was very knowledgable and friendly. The food tasted fresh and good. Tried it for the first time this afternoon. The service was fantastic! I was at first overwhelmed with the variety of the menu, everything sounds delicious but I couldn't decide what I was in the mood for. After the young man at the register informed me that his grandmother hand makes all the falafel and kibi every day, I couldn't imagine trying anything else. I had the falafel wrap with a side of 2 kibi. Both were delicious! The meat in the kibi was juicy and perfectly seasoned and the falafel wrap was the perfect size for me. First time at this location but I've had the pleasure to visit their Bell locations , years ago! When I found it they had this new location just down the st from my home ... I was stoked . My mother and em have always shared a kabob plate as it is well portioned . This time I decided to get a chicken shawarma wrap .... And may I say .... WOW! Delicious ! I love world famous! It's the best med food in LA. I just keep getting disappointed everytime i order fattoush and it doesn't have lime like the Bell location. I feel like Bell location has juicier meat than the Downey too. By the way Uber eats doesn't allow you to select "dressing in" salad for fattoush salad. Only on the side and all they give you is oil on the side, not the lemon/oil fattoush dressing. read more
