First let me say this: I can't believe I'd never been in this store before!!! Son and I went yesterday looking for some Christmas goodies to share around. Specifically, we were looking for the mince pies from England. Unfortunately, they were sold out ... but they had plenty of other goodies. The front area is apparently for seasonal items, and home wares are on the sides. We focused on the market area in the back of the store. We got a whole basket full of stuff from all over the world. Then when we went to check out, the cashier asked if we were members, so he assisted us in getting that set up pretty quickly and we immediately got 15% off our purchase! What can I say, I usually don't write reviews but this one just got me!! I went to your store looks for something that online it said that it was available at your store, I got there and I ask a sales representative to see where the item was because I didn't find it. There was something similar to it but it was not it. Rep check to see if you had it in stock and yes there were 11 of them but nowhere on site. Rep left for a bit and came back said that she couldn't find the ladder and that the item was available in other stores. I was already in the store where 11 were available. So I walked around to see if I could find but no luck I did find the ladder. However the sales person was the only one that appears to have been working so I had to order online and had to pay $8.99 shipping. So what should have cost me $10.81 now cost me $20 cause I was not going to be driving around looking for something that was already at your store. So disappointed. read more

I really like Cost Plus World Market but oddly I really seem to only make it here about once a year at Christmas time. I am not sure what's up with that, but it is the truth. They are a great place to get some unusual and last minute fill in gifts for stockings etc. I was able to get some great German candies and Swiss Chocolates to add as a few extras for the for kids stocking. For those inclined, they have a huge selection of wines. They also have cheeses and chips , furniture and decor. Most everything is imported, this the "World Market" in the name. I've always loved the World Market stores and since I'm moving into a new house I was excited to finally have a chance to get some of their furniture! The best thing about it was they had a 25% off all furniture sale that made it more than affordable to stock up on some great wood furniture. Here's the thing I really appreciate about them, while some of their furniture is cheaply made, they do carry a lot of all wood furniture (no veneers) which is made well. It might not come in one solid piece (i.e. screwing some legs on) but the actual furniture is solid, heavy wood at a reasonable price. FYI - If a table or chair wobbles in the store, it's probably from their floor because it's unevenly poured concrete. When you get it home it's fine! I also really love their style, and I can't wait to go back to this one because the staff is helpful! read more

Great selection, but their cashiers are by far the slowest in the metroplex. I've been to this location many times and have the same experience each time. The cashiers want to have a full conversation with each customer while checking out which dramatically slows down the process. I want to get in and get out! Golden treacle pudding (that has another giggle-inducing name)? Candies from Europe and around the world? Teas, wines, and coffee I can't pronounce? My eyes literally could not stop wandering over everything! There is an aisle of sample-portioned items (tiny cute jars of jam or honey, small chunks of cheese, single portion of snackable olives etc) for you to try before you buy big. This store has all the different Nik nacks you can think of. Now the out side of the store says food so in thinking it would be like a whole foods, However I was wrong. I have loved World Market for DECADES!! Do y'all remember that it used to be called "Cost Plus"? Anyway, I love the bohemian/fun yet quality items in this store. The furniture is to die for!! You can always find unique toys and gadgets, foods from around the world (vegemite!), and the wine selection is awesome :) Can I just also add that I love their diet drinks?? They have this 12 pack of diet soda that's in a box. It's a variety of flavors, and they're super tasty. I don't remember the name of the brand, but they don't taste diet-y at all. read more

It's like they never got the hang of switching between seasonal items, and when they need room they just pile up other stuff "out of the way", but really totally in the way of their usual items. The gift-wrapping section is always a disaster of a mess. The decor items and such are very bohemian in style and cater to a very specific taste. It's not mine overall, but I will sometimes find items here that I love. I come here mostly for holiday decor items, because they do stock very unique items seasonally. The gift wrap in particular at Christmas is always adorable. Their furniture, rugs, and the like are overpriced for what you get, and I have not ever seen a good sale on these. read more

Look, I love World Market just like most people, but there is something I have to say about this particular store. This store is super tiny compared to the other World Market stores that I've visited. Easily a 1/3 of the store on Denton Hwy. (in Watauga). I did have one of those "Yay / Aww.." moments when I found out that this place was 2 stories. "Surely the rest of the store is up there, right?" Nope, restrooms / offices / storage. Anyhow, the staff was friendly (when they weren't busy building a display, then they just ignore you). And the overall experience was fine. read more

We especially love shopping here at Christmastime. They feature delectable goodies from all over the world. Where else can you find large colorful tins of Swedish ginger snaps, German Stollen, British sweet biscuits, Italian Baci and Austrian marzipan candy all in the same place? They keep adding to their wine and beer selections, although the prices can't compare with Spec's and Goody's stores. While I love foraging for food like other Bears, Mrs. Bear loves to shop there for art objects, glassware, clever greeting cards and other non-edibles, of which there is much to choose from. Often things are found on-sale throughout the year. The employees are friendly and helpful, and it pays to become a member of their e-mail shoppers club. read more

I loooooooooove World Market and am a member of their "Explorers" program. So I get coupons e-mailed to me and all sorts of good stuff. This is the closest World Market to my house, so I come here most frequently. Just yesterday, I got 3 pairs of earrings (lotus flowers, owls, and turquoise studs) and a lemonade! I was going to buy some sour candies in a Hello Kitty head tin, but I resisted... barely. I love wandering around World Market and looking at all of the cool stuff. Their furniture is really expensive, but a lot of other stuff is quite reasonable (cookware, home decor items, etc) and they have some random off the wall stuff which I love. I've also gotten a handful of unique picture frames from them over the years- various sizes, shapes, and picture sizes. Plus, you really can't beat all of the awesome grocery items they carry... candies, pastas, sauces, etc from overseas? Yes please. Beers and ciders and wines you can buy individually? I'm not forced to buy a 6-pack of beer I might hate? Amazing. I've never had anything bad from their grocery section. Bizarre and not my taste, sure.. but the vast selection and great price means it's still a winner. This isn't the biggest World Market I've been to locally, but I like it. It's on the back side of the Crate and Barrel and Container Store on Alpha, right next to the Dallas Tollway. Parking is always a breeze here, and employees have always been nice. read more

I get dragged here every once in a while. My route is always the same, straight to the back to get a tiny cup of sample coffee, I rate this store lukewarm like the coffee. Sorry guys, but really, brew coffee every couple hours or buy a pot that keeps it warm. I'm sure I'll be back. read more

Only bad experience with World market is always check expiration dates on food items esp if they are on sale. Love this place. This is one of the few memberships I have that actually have useful perks & discounts. As a wine lover I visit WM to grab different brands at reasonable prices. The spices & snack items are one of a kind, I think I've racked up $$ on spices alone but well worth it. The furniture, rugs, & accessories are overpriced in my opinion but I'm sure bargain hunters such as myself are not their target market.
