If you shop at this place regularly, you know that all of the locations have some really cool stuff- from furniture to small bottles and gift wrap. I've been to a few of their stores and its always been great. The Glendale store was just awesome though. Its not often that a store's employees turn a good experience 10 times more awesome. I was there with the GF and we were shopping for furniture. An employee at the store, Elliot, helped us by answering questions about the furniture, locating pieces that weren't on the floor (even moving many heavy boxes to dig the furniture boxes out), and calling other stores to find the pieces that weren't in stock. He could have just passed us on to another store, but it seemed like he genuinely wanted to help and he totally did. He wasn't pushy at all- when we had questions, he'd answer them or find the answers, and when we didn't have questions, he'd help others. Elliot helped pack the furniture into my car and, even though my car isn't the biggest car, he figured out a way to pack the furniture safely and securely in my car. We couldn't do it in 1 trip so when I showed up the next day, he helped packed my car again. He didn't have to do any of that, but he did anyway. That's just amazing service. There are many great stores with a lot of cool stuff, but cool staff is the reason we'll be returning to this store. read more

Love this spot! So many novelty and unique items here from food, to home decor. The snacks and beverages may be in the back, but that's where I gravitate towards. Lots of refined items from jamon ibecrico, to pickled onions, jalapeños, sauces, wines, specialty sodas, beer, refrigerated cheeses, coffee syrups, and yada yada yada. The eclectic design of furniture does offer that worldly feel without the cheesiness of other places. There's something more humble and elegant than that cheap wall painting or giraffe you might find in a similar home design store. read more

Great to be there after you breakup with your boyfriend (you know there is life after love), great to be there if your get stress from work (trust me you forgot what is work after going through rows and rows of goodies) and of course the taste of REAL chocolate. I really like coming to Cost Plus, they have a little bit of everything. A respectable selection of beers, including a mini German keg I want by a brand I can't remember at this moment. Anyway, I was in Glendale christmas shopping and stopped in here to get my grandmother a quality triple milled soap (I don't know what that means but its suppose to be the best) and some lotion. I love coming here not for the home goods and accessories (which are quite reasonably priced, btw), but for the kitschy food items and candy that they have in the back of the store. They have a wide variety of imported candies that you wont find at the regular supermarket. In addition, some of the ingredients they have in store are also priced cheaper than at the market (spices, for example). I love browsing around the little "minis" section, but refrain from buying too many of the little cute individual servings of jams and hot sauce. Its easy to find a lot of cool things to give as gifts, especially around the holidays. They also have some really cute gift wrap, so its definitely a one stop shop. The store itself seems a bit crowded at times, because they have a lot of merchandise crammed into a small space. When I browse the aisles with all the kitchen dishes, I find myself holding my breath because I'm afraid of running into something. This is definitely one of my favorite stores of all time!! They have a little bit of everything I love here from stationery, to exotic imports! I can spend hours in this store just looking at all of the unique and beautiful things! I can honestly say that 75% of the items in my room are from this store. I love anything that is from or has to do with India and this store always has plenty of treasures that I can't wait to take home with me. It may seem like it is expensive here but I believe that the pricing is fair considering how beautiful and unique the selections are. they have EVERYTHING. for real. glassware, cute tchotchkes, FOOD...stuff that i looked for at multiple stores YEARS ago and gave up...came here recently and said "hey! i remember looking at a ton of places in 2009 for those reusable ice cubes that were super popular in the 90s. wow. they have them here and i had no idea?! i'll take them!" anyhow... last time i was there was to look for bird's custard (it's a UK thing...my husband is from there...i am not) and sure enough they had it! i'm very impressed with their imported foods...not to mention, the wine selection is great! when i was there the other day, the cashier, named Topher, was super helpful and i wanted to make sure he got a shout out because he was a good dude. read more

Wow first time at at world market that I had a bad experience in my life. Walked in the stock is half of what it used to be. brooms, messy, I believe this is the last time I shop at this location. I'm 61 years old and the girl behind the counter asks me for my birthdate. Yes I was buying a few beers and California carts. But really. The people were laughing in line behind me. I think the class of this location is not n the dumps. I spent the least amount at this store that I have ever spent. It use to be so exciting to shop at Cost Plus World Market. I'm done. How do I always forget that Cost Plus is such a wonderful store! they have great everything from beer to wine to awesome mugs and international candies! I came here to get a few things or a party and ended up walking around with a basket full of things. Additionally, I secretly like to get my beigne mix here! Yes! You know it! they got it! Also, in some locations there is this really great cookie bar called the TIM TAM! If you see it at your location please let me know! Very friendly and helpful staff. They have everything that I wanted online in stock in store so I didn't have to deal with the hassle of paying the shipping fee and then waiting for my item to arrive. This store is an exotic adventure! The furniture is PRICEY but you know, there are some good sales! There are tons of smaller ticket items- bathroom and kitchen items, and also a very extensive back section with exotic items- chocolates and candies from many lands, random snack items you wouldn't find anywhere else. I have been a long-time customer of Cost Plus World Market. As in, my Mom used to take me to Cost Plus when I was a kid, albeit a different location. I love the variety of imported goods - jewelry, food items, wines and beers, home decor, plates and glasses, on and on and on. This store is spacious and I have never had an unpleasant interaction with an employee there. In all honesty, I haven't had a reason to chat with the floor staff much, so I can only really address the cashiers. They have always been friendly, efficient, patient, and courteous. While Cost Plus World Market would totally merit a "5" from me as a company, this location has one drawback, in my mind, that keeps one star dangling just out of reach. They are not consistently well stocked. A lot of odd emptiness. Shelves with nothing to keep them warm. Displays of borderline nothingness. If I want to look at nothingness, I will look in my wallet, thank you very much. Would love to see this location spend a tad more time, energy , and effort on the merchandising. In any case, I would recommend it and will continue to shop there. If even just for the awesome and reasonably priced spices and olive oil. Oh, and the dishes... and the decorations for holidays. Also the awesome "old-fashioned" toys. Okay. I will just continue to shop here. read more

I wouldn't say World Market would be the place for everyday shopping, mostly because their prices are too high on several items, but if you like trying new things, this definitely the place to go. I came in to buy a desk that was on sale (which was a beauty btw) but unfortunately it took ages to get assisted by any of the employees. There was about 5 that just passed me y while others idly talked. But finally I was assisted by a nice gentleman named Tony, he got everything i needed with little wait time. He showed me a couple of things, and mind you Im on a tight budget but he sold them to me as if he were on commission (from my understanding theyre not). Overall nice places to shop, service sucks, but if you're ever here look for Tony, great service from him. read more

This place is great for gifts and finding unique and eclectic items. The prices are reasonable for the quality and the staff is always really down to earth and helpful. I'm taking away one star due to them not having sugar-free candy avaiable. This may sound like a minor thing, but to someone who is diabetic, this is fairly important:-) With all of that wonderful candy, they can at least have half an isle for sugar-free(hint-hint) Otherwise, a great place to gather home items. read more

Great experience! I had a 10% off coupon which the cashier told me I could sign up for their explorer club and make it 15%. Which I did! I love Cost Plus but I've rarely had an impressionable experience. I've usually walked in, shopped around, and been on my merry way. I mean the store itself is entertainment enough. Their is a lot to say about being able to walk in a store and just shop around without being hounded. However, having said that, this time I had the absolute pleasure of being helped by Chris, Christopher, Topher! :-) He was so incredibly helpful, informative, and just so much fun to talk to. He was able to make recommendations, give examples, share stories, and use anecdotes to make points about my purchases. As a matter of fact, I think I left with more then I intended to buy-HA! - (which is great for the company) but it wasn't because of pressure but rather intrigue. I came here today to find some new wall art and decor for my condo. I've been scoping out the world market in Pasadena on Colorado, but was trying to find some different items. This location is decently sized, with plenty in stock. There were a lot of people inside, but it wasn't as crowded as I expected, considering how busy the shopping center is. This may be due, in part, to the fact that it's tucked away in the back corner of the shopping center. Regardless, I was able to find a couple of nice hidden items that had been overlooked. I'm definitely glad that I had the option of checking into this Glendale location because I didn't want to have to order it online and pay shipping fees. The staff here were very friendly, and definitely helpful. They offered to help bring my items out to my car which I didn't need but I do appreciate. Can't complain about anything here. This review is long overdue...but like they say..better late than never :) Where do I start...I absolutely love this store and this particular location. Every single employee here is so nice and helpful...there's such a great chemistry between all of them... and that vibe passes along to me every time i walk in there. I love every single part of this store...from gourmet food to snacks to kitchen to home stuff...did I mention the great selection of wines and alcoholic beverages? (That sangria though )...The candles are my another weakness when I walk in to this store... I also got some great jewelry and accessories here that I often get compliments on... So I absolutely love this store and I've been coming here for years. The reason I'm giving this place one star is because they continue to allow this crazy customer to come back. I've seen her a few times over the past year and I'm fed up with feeling uncomfortable everytime she enters the store. She has grey frizzy hair and she's skinny. Maybe in her 50's. She always enters the store angry and cuts in line to return her items and starts screaming at the cashiers and making racial slurs. I saw her about two nights ago and I've just about had it! The employees shouldn't allow her into the store and they shouldn't tolerate such verbal abuse from such a crazy woman! Staff is really friendly and the merchandise is unique and affordable but I just don't feel comfortable going back and shopping if that's the customers they accept read more
