When I arrived, I found out that the store actually closes at 7 PM on Sundays. Please update the hours on your website to reflect the correct closing time so this doesn't happen to other customers. Went in, my wife fell in love with a desk. Checked the current special offers and found that for every $20 spent, you get $5 off. Checked with the manager and was told that the offer applied to anything in the store except for Halloween items. Shopped a bit then went to the furniture section. Sales person said that the offer didn't apply and that I should take a smaller incentive offer instead. I told her we already verified it with a manager. She proceeded to argue for the next 7-8 minutes. We left. Filed a formal complaint with their corporate. Two weeks later, a person from the local store called. Said she wanted to "make everything right for their egregious mistake". On my voicemail, she offered to sell us the same desk for the same price that we should have gotten it in the first place. How is that "making it right"? Sure, consumer, drive all the way out here to get the deal we should have done the first time you drove all the way out here? I met a girl the other day who had the cutest gem ring on her finger and she said she got it at Wold Market. Me being me and her stating it was only $8, I zoomed right over there thinking, "wait I have actually never been here before." The spacious open warehouse cozy vibe is everything. The sections are labeled and there is room to roam and browse. And you should definitely be browsing here, it is GORGEOUS. The World Market theme goes in to play with the artisan items they have from all over the globe. Products for home and bath, decor, jewlery, dining and more. I scoured the whole store just to look and window shopping here is soooo soothing. I did leave with 2 rings and a bottle of wine. I win. read more

WOW costplus Spokane u just lost over $300 in purchases because of your horrifically outdated till system (still purchased $400 cuz costplus is amazing!). I'm a designer redecorating a hone and it just took me over AN HOUR to check out because ur checkout tills crashed SIX TIMES!! Eventually broke up the purchase and just left with half. Really going to suck for holiday shoppers if u don't fix this. Thankfully Megan - the employee checking me out - was an angel and made it a fun experience by keeping her cool but the store manager failed to offer me any compensation. read more

Decent selection of things to shop in the store but the customer service was horrible! I personally didn't encounter a single employee until the checkout lane, and she was an incredibly slow cashier who would not make eye contact with my husband or respond to him in any way. My husband tried to use the stores restroom earlier in the shopping trip and the lady by the restroom doors would not acknowledge him nor did the do anything but stare at him. He thought she was listening to something on her headset so he was trying to politely point to the door to ask if she could open it up for him but she continued to stare at him and not respond. He then verbally asked "can you open the door for me?" To which her only response was "please?!" After she opened the door he turned to her and thanked her but she immediately turned away and said nothing.... Not only do the associates we encountered have very poor social skills, one of them was downright rude. We will not be going back. read more

This is the place for: whimsical gift giving, Xmas stockings, White Elephants, "zany" food, odd specialty items, certain decorations on the cheap side and kitchen gear on a case-by-case basis. Food is imported from around the world and tends to be cheeky mass-market stuff or fancier "gourmet" items. They have a really great selection of gummies including retro stuff. Lots of little chocolates, meats, cheeses, sauces, sodas etc. They have a lot of cheap but cute kids toys in the $5-15 range. Furnishings and "home" stuff is poorly constructed and overpriced IMHO. The canvas art features cheap material and too-limp canvas. Picture frames are attractive and different but about 25% more expensive than Jo-Anns. read more

This place has everything from around the world you never knew you needed! Spices you have never heard of but now have to find a recipe for. Cookies from various lands made of who know what but who cares because COOKIES! And this is just the food. Exotic decor from other lands. Unique cooking tools. It is like hitting foreign bazaars without dealing with questionable water! Ok, enough goofing around. This is actually a solid place for a lot of great things. I experiment a lot with new recipes and sometimes this is the only place in Spokane I can find the strange and new ingredient I need. Mince pies from England! Get them here. (That was our tip!) Went on Black Friday in the afternoon and the store was jam packed with shoppers. Parking, as always, was a challenge, but we managed to grab a spot. The store has the usual fare: worldly goods ranging from furniture to toys. The food section is usually the most filled with people and today was no exception. The clerks were ready and working at full speed so we were able to check out pretty speedily. If you are looking for something specific this is usually the only place you can get it without ordering online. I love World Market and I shop there all the time. I've bought display furniture from them in the past and they have always discounted the furniture since it is the display and usually dinged up. I went a week ago during their 50% off patio sale. I had looked online and everything was sold out and I was so sad! So I went to the store and they had 2 Sevilla White Wash Chair's (one was a display and one brand new in the box) left and one of the Benches! I was beyond excited!!!! When I started looking over the display chair, I noticed it was extremely dirty. There were show prints, hand prints, and dirt all over it. The hair cushions are white so everything shows up on them. I asked a woman who worked there if there was anyway I could get a bigger discount on the display chair since it was so dirty. She said she was the manager and said with a scoff, "they are already 50% off!" And i said "yes I am aware of this. But I am getting a brand new gorgeous chair in the box for the same price as this dirty display chair. I understand that they are on sale but I don't think they should be the same price since one is brand new and one is basically used." Them she replied, "well the good thing about this chair is that it has a washable removable cover. Just go home and wash it." I started getting frustrated by her customer service and her response. She seemed super rude and I felt like she was mocking me. I said, "so I'm buying a chair from your store and you want me to have to go home and wash it before I use it?" She finally looked at me and said, " ok I'll give you a discount. $5 off of the display chair. That should cover the price of your laundry detergent." And then walked away. I'm sorry that's just super unprofessional and bad customer service. I probably won't shop at that store anymore but will continue to shop at world market via online. read more

Small store with a decent selection of product but I found it annoying that even the manager didn't know how to use a coupon from Bed Bath and Beyond (same owners and supposedly coupons should work across stores). The lady at checkout spent about ten minutes trying to figure out a solution before checking with her manager and taking my phone with her to do so - note to employees: NEVER take a customer's phone without their permission! Since the coupon was sent to me via Bed Bath and Beyond text message she went to show the manager, who after a few minutes came back to the register with her and had her show him what she already tried. He shrugged his shoulders and said "it looks like it's not valid" without any further research into what you're supposed to do with a coupon from a parent/sister store or an apology. I made my purchase regardless, as it was only a matter of a couple of dollars, but I left with the reminder to not support World Market in the future. Having had a bad experience at another store years ago I had all but stopped shopping with them at that time. Now it has solidified my view of the store and I will avoid them at all costs. read more

So many interesting things in this place! Found some stuff I would probably purchase next time I go, was late last nite so they were closing soon. Went in looking for decorative items for my bathroom theme of lighthouses and sailboats, couldn't find anything. But I did however find my dining room table I'll hopefully be getting! Awesome industrial table to go with a steampunk look! Even the lady at the store was really nice she helped me sign up for their rewards program to receive coupons and notifications on when their dining event will b coming so I can apply my discount to the table I want. Fun place to be and decent customer service. Was approached by staff if I needed help, which I did, and she led the way. They have a lot of foreign chocolates, candy, and other desserts. For Spokane, this is a good store to go to if you are looking for a unique gift for an eccentric and/or worldly friend. Both my mother and sister have been to Europe a lot and they love the presents I get from here because they remind them of Europe. I love the imported food too. Prices can be high, but a lot of the items here you cannot find miles around. read more

Love, love, love this store! Great selection of household goods, unique foods, decor, even some clothing and accessories. I could have bought tons of stuff from them. I particularly liked the attention of the young woman who worked there. She noted me when I tried on a piece and gave me some tips to make it fit better. She also knows the store inventory well and can help you find anything. She really seemed to take pride in her work, which is a great trait. Not my favorite place. A lot of 'stuff' but you really have to WANT it to shop here. Bought noodles for lasagna soup. Really wanted them so shopped here. I have never experienced a moment where management or guest service have caused an issue or quibbled over something so trivial. I was at this location yesterday picking up my $600 furniture purchase (and spent an additional $150 while waiting) and bought some awesome plastic storage containers. They were half off, as they were discontinued. I bought a total of eight and called today asking if they had any more, as I was going to clean out the rest. I spoke with Paddy, who informed me that they had about four left. When I asked if he could put them aside for me, he told me no, as today was the last day of the sale and they were a discounted item. I explained that I wasn't aware yesterday that it was a limited time offer (there were no dates that were clearly marked or advertised, just "Additional 50% off!") and that, as I was working today IN IDAHO, that I wouldn't be able to make it until tomorrow morning. Having over ten years in retail management myself, I felt that was a fair request. I was going to promptly come in tomorrow (and probably buy way more items anyway) and I would be taking their UNWANTED items off their hands for more shelf space for newer items coming in. Paddy spoke with the manager on duty, Piper, who also said no. All I asked was that they be willing to put the rest of them on hold and extend the sale A DAY. I would've been in tomorrow to pick them up and there wouldn't have been an issue. What happened to going out of your way for your guest? I live approximately an hour away in the next state over. It would've meant a lot, had they been willing to assist me in making a purchase, particularly when I would've bought more items anyway. I hope corporate and the district manager sees this-there was absolutely no reason to deny this request other than wanting to cause an issue and frankly, it's turned me off to World Market in a huge way. Now I have to decide as to whether or not I want to continue giving them my hard earned money. read more
