On Friday, April 3 at around 3pm my dad and I went into the store and saw that they had their Lavender tote bags displayed. We were excited to finally see them because every time we would go in, they would always be sold out. When we approached the cart where the totes were displayed, the supervisors in Hawaiian shirts (one bald man and a tan man with a mustache) aggressively told my dad that he already got bags. Because of this accusation, my dad and I left because we felt discriminated against based on the color of our skin since they didn't seem to bat an eye for everyone else getting the Lavender tote bags. As a regular at this particular store it is very disappointing to see this kind of treatment especially from their management and I no longer feel comfortable shopping here. read more

This store is in a big plaza so there a lot of parking. The store is medium size and you can basically see everything the store has once you walk inside. The wines are on the left side of the store. We came for their pastel mini bags. It was watched like a hawk, and limited to two, one per color. But at least we got them, for $2.99 each. Parking in this shopping center was okay. The aisles at this Trader Joe's was bright and wide. When my friend was accidentally over charged and it was brought to their attention, the cashier was apologetic and fixed it for us. read more

Trader Joe's - West Hills is all about the frills. From their spacious layout, helpful crew and selections to the confections of wine, savory or sweet things, this TJ's know what it brings! Here for the parking at the massive Fallbrook Center neighbor to several business including the AMC Fallbrook 7, Target, Walmart, Sprouts and several others, but Trader Joe's reigns highest for me. Often find myself grabbing snacks and quick meals when in the area including their Veggie Wrap with Hummus, former Rainbow Wrap, Mango Jicama Slaw and others. Their Soft-Baked Snickerdoodle Cookies are always 10/10. For some reason I find more here than other locations. They're vegan and gluten-free which makes them a hit for just about anybody. The Vegan Enchilada Casserole is just as good as my homemade version and great for splitting into personal meals #MealPrep or sharing with others. It can be pretty busy here on weekends like most grocery stores, but they do their absolute best to keep things smooth and flowing. I definitely see more people physically on the floor engaging, stocking and troubleshooting than any other locations I frequent, especially newer locations. Good deals, great meals and the best feels every time, rain or shine from 8am to 9pm daily, until 5pm on Christmas Eve and closed on most major holidays like Christmas and New Year's Day. When I called this location and asked if they can cut it for me (I have difficulty), the lovely Eric told me while they don't usually do that, he would do it for me and it'll be waiting in the back when I get to the store. Absolute sweetheart. When I went to check out, Roman or Milan was being really patient and tender hearted towards a young boy who wanted to help scan the items in his mom's cart. If you need products that are private labeled, certain brands or diet, I am sure you can find them here. When I entered the store, I was greeted by Lisa (tall blonde lady). She answered my questions about the fruit and suggested some flowers which I bought. I was looking for specific items, and Sophia walked me around the store for 3 minutes to find the items and was so friendly. The cashier George engaged me in a conversation (which other stores like Whole Foods don't). The woman who bagged my groceries also chatted with me about one of the items I bought. I think her name is Nicole. There are associates around the floor so it is easy to find help. They must treat them great everyone is so friendly! I never thought I would be writing this but, maybe current societal norms of inconsideration, lack of spatial awareness, being unfriendly, and just plain rudeness are in strong play. I have not been to this location in over a year for good reason, and I see the reorganization of product alignment once again, (they should give customers especially in the general area, public notice of such plans as there are several elderly family members and friends who can easily lose their way from remembered sections of preference.) My distance from shopping here was due to the decline in their service and product quality over the years and clearly things have not changed in that aspect. There are far better market providers in the area who conduct better customer service and product quality overall. Trader Joes was clearly a trend whose time has come to an end for those of us who know better. Low class in every aspect, appealing only to those who Do Not know any better'... ie, current 'Trend Followers'. There was a time that they had peaked in the 90s. Today, there are better providers of this type of lower quality of food, and lack of customer care in the same general geographical area that do not possess a privatized name for profit, and over worded, unintelligent, advertising articles for seasonal items directed for certain people to chose from, which explains the primary clientele especially at this location who probably believe they are shopping high-end, or fancy"...It just is not so. Absolutely no words best employees ever Vince, and Josh and one other young man I didn't get his name, but I told him I felt someone was following me in the store and I was scared and they did the absolute most to make sure I felt safe and protected. I sometimes shop at Trader Joe's as an alternative to organic food stores like Whole Foods and Sprouts. This time I was passing with my 2 kids (8 and 10), and they asked for a Trader Joe's ice cream, a small vanilla cones with chocolate on top. Since I needed a few items as well, we stopped here. We wanted to cook something that evening which required a lot of eggs, and that meant that we won't have enough for next morning. Shopping went largely uneventful. I grabbed two cartons of eggs, milk, ice cream, and a few other items, and came to the cashier. A young guy on duty took out eggs from my cart and said that I could only have one carton of eggs per customer. Since I assumed that having 2 daughters with me would qualify me as 3 customers, I was genuinely surprised. He said: "No, we don't consider kids customers. We allow only one carton per family." I was surprised again, but said that I needed to bake, and asked him to please let me take an additional doezen. The guy calls his manager, standing near a cashier from the other side of me, and tells him of the problem. The manager yells: "Only One!", and continues to pack someone's bag. I politely tell him that there are 3 of us, and if I could please take an additional pack. And all of a sudden I hear: "Some people have no Dignity". I looked up at him for a moment to find an explanation, but he continued: "Yes, YOU, YOU! YOU have no Dignity!" To say I was shocked, is an understatement. A person, who doesn't know me, who is in a service industry, telling me I have no Dignity in front of my kids because I though I could buy more eggs than they allow? I would rethink, who Trader Joe's hires as Team Managers. read more

Tonight shopping at the West Hills TJ with my husband and son, made me wish that I had a TJ when I was my son's age. Everyone seemed to be extra nice to us but especially to our son. He had such a great time! He was treated to an apple - his favorite fruit - by Luis! Thanks Luis!!! Parking: plenty of parking. It's in a major shopping area, surrounded by restaurants and other retail stores. People: fun for all; parents, couples, singles, cookie monsters. Perks: this particular location has a decent booze section: wine, liquor, beer, and mixed drinks. Staff are mostly friendly and helpful. I had the best shopping experience today at Trader Joes Fallbrook Center. The vibe in this store was fantastic and staff were all wonderful and very helpful :) One staff member who I would like to shout out to was Dorothy who was incredibly kind and friendly to me which I really appreciated. (She really brightened my day after having a "challenging" shopping experience at Costco ) She even came over to help collect my shopping trolly after I had packed my groceries away in the car and wished me a nice day. Left this location a bit ago, mixed emotions right now, but more anger than anything. I live in Woodland Hills, this location is about 5min from me, and I come here often. Today as I proceeded to check out the cashier asked me if I was using EBT, I said "what?", he said EBT. I was confused, not once has a cashier asked me this question before, my reply - debit. But, now I'm irritated...I said, "really dude?". Yes, I said dude. He then explained he was only asking because EBT was not working...I got annoyed, picked up my food and went to another cashier. I had to calm down...because the more I thought about his question, I question, did he ask me because I'm Latina? Would he have asked all the WHITE people in the store the same question??? That's a HELL NO, and don't tell me otherwise because it's BS. Complaining to a manager is a waste of time, I know this because they aren't as friendly as the workers.
