We headed straight back to the service department. She let them know what she wanted done and asked for suggestions on which products she should have installed. The employee was fantastic! He showed us all the options for things like handlebar wraps, clip in pedals, and clip in shoes. He was incredibly knowledgeable about all of these things and was able to tell us the difference between the different price tiers for the items. When looking at shoes, he helped with sizing and quickly checked to see if they had the color and size she needed in their stock. Unfortunately, they were sold out of the specific set she wanted but he offered to order them online for her. He was very friendly and charismatic! The turn around time for the service and install was very quick. We dropped it off on a Thursday and was told that it would be ready by the following Monday. The bike looked great! It was super shiny and clean. The wraps were installed beautifully. The bike just looked great overall. I was surprised to see how affordable Fun Sports Bikes is, especially considering all she had done on the bike. I would definitely bring my bike here again!

I also ordered a full check to be done on the whole bike to make sure that nothing else was amiss. After the brake cords were replaced I brought it home, but ended up riding it back to the shop the next day because my kickstand was not working and I wanted it replaced. I just don't understand why that wasn't looked at during the full check up in the first place? The reason I'm giving the shop 4 stars is because Stephen was the one that helped me with my kickstand and he was extremely nice. I just walked in with my bike, told him what happened, and he fixed it within 10 minutes. I don't know about the others that work there, but I recommend Stephen for all your bike needs.

He assured me that he would give me the best price for additional equipment to stay within my budget to create a great experience for Howard Prep. She's had different companies come out to check her sewage line after finding roots in the system, every last one of them said she needs to replace the system. And that they need to dig out under the house. After having herk's come by and give his opinion, he said the pipe was already replaced and roots were coming in from the connection. He helped my mom call the city for them to take care of it, which they did. Cleaning out the line of roots and also apply weed and roots killer. He explained everything very well and also let my mom see what he saw on camera and explained it to her so she understands what's really going on. Would recommend herk's to anyone looking for an honest plumber.

Another visit the staff backed up a customer who was being yelled at by another customer because there was urine on the blanket she was putting into the washing machine. Apparently he has never had to care for an infant, elderly person, or animal. Anyway the staff on site totally backed and supported her. They are super customer friendly. They also offer by the pound laundry services and specialty cleaning for large items like comforters. They have a play area with toys for the kids and benches and a desk to sit and read or work.

I am writing this review not to complaint about the establishment as I have done in the past about my negative experience at World of Wheels ,but to talk about the owner Rich. There was a group event on Saturday which consisted from going to bar to bar and have a drink with other people and have a good time amongst friends and fellow cyclist but instead of having a pleasant experience, I get confronted by the owner of WOW, Rich. He not only verbally confronted me but he made physical contact with me. He was angry I posted a review about my experience at WOW here on Yelp too which he called me a "complete piece of shit" and an "asshole" in front of my friend who I was having a conversation with, at the second stop of the ride. He called me piece of shit and an asshole for leaving a negative review on Yelp. I did not argue back with him at all, I was just confused about the whole experience and nor only was the verbal abuse unpleasant but very unprofessional from a business owner to have towards another person. The only thing I said back to him was "are you being serious right now?" after he called me a piece of shit, to which he replied by saying "Yes, I am being serious you fucking asshole". He also said to me, "You are not welcome here, nobody wants you here at this event!! Is that how people get treated when going to WOW when they walk in make a purchase? I just don't know, I have not set a foot in the establishment since he kicked me out of the store (read my previous review for more details about the incident). But I am writing this review to let other people know about how unprofessional and unpleasant that was for me at a cycling event where I was happy to see my friends and other people I loved seeing when I was a customer a WOW. At the Third stop at Harvest Moon downtown in Modesto; I was talking to two of my friends on the sidewalk and he shoved into me as we walked by, he did not apologize to me, but the lady he was with (which I assume was his wife) apologized to me instead as they kept walking heading inside towards the restaurant I replied by saying "its ok do not worry about it". Please I encourage other people to read this and let others know about this establishment and the owner. As I have said before, go to FUN Sport Bikes, or Oakdale bicycle shop, both those places offer an exceptional quality service and they are always willing to help anybody that walks in through their doors. I am completely done and shocked at his behavior, I just don't know what else to say but I am done with WOW for good. Nor only were the insults unpleasant but to called me out in front of everyone having a good time was completely unethical. I am also going to post this on the Better Business Bureau (BBB) website to let other people know about this unpleasant experience nor only from this establishment but the behavior of the business owner himself. read more

I highly recommend anyone in the market for a bicycle, accessories, or service to visit this location and experience their exceptional customer service firsthand. It's the kind of business that reminds you why supporting local shops is so important. I'm encouraged to know there are still businesses that genuinely take pride in the service they provide to their customers. In today's world, I would honestly consider that a rarity. From the moment you walk through the door, Eric, Sean, and Matthew make it a point to acknowledge every customer. The rest of the team does the same and although I don't know everyone's names, their commitment to outstanding customer service is obvious. I have been in this shop a handful of times and my experiences have not aligned with these reviews. I have received nothing but exemplary service. My two best examples happened over this holiday season. The day before Christmas I called about 2:50 pm to get their holiday hours so I could buy a bike for my son that I had seen there the week before. They informed me that they were closing at 3:00pm, but would hold the store open for me while I drove the 35 minutes to their store and make my purchase. I politely declined the offer, I did not want anyone to work any harder on Christmas Eve than they had too! So I waited till New Years Eve (see a pattern here :) ) and just showed up at the store with my son to purchase the bike. It was 4:30pm and there was a salesman outside with a customer. When I got to the door I saw a sign stating that they were closing at 3:pm that day. I asked the salesman if this was accurate, he confirmed the notice but welcomed me and my son in anyway. There were still other service personnel in the store and everyone helped my son and I pick out a bike prep it and get out the door without any rush or sense of urgency. Everyone was polite and professional. I have four children (two below the age of 5) and every time my herd has entered the store, they were patient, polite and professional Perhaps these reviews were read and they acted on them. All I know is that all I have ever experienced at this store is outstanding service and I have and will continue recommending it to my friends. read more

Wow. I'm totally astonished by all these negative reviews. I have been in World of Wheels several times between 2009 and this past winter. My first experience with this retailer was when I was trying to find a service shop for my old Schwinn. I was treated with courtesy from the moment I walked in until the minute I left, and was made to feel important as a customer. It was such a good experience, I went back to get my granddaughter her first "preschool" bike. Again I got the "top drawer" treatment. I went back again to get a bike rack for my old car, and then there was the emergency flat bike tire.... Most recently my granddaughter "graduated" to a larger bike, and we got the red carpet treatment again. I loved watching the salesperson work with my girl and treat her so importantly. I appreciated that time was taken to make sure the bike was a good and safe "fit" for my girl. Whatever my bike needs have been, and in the bike world they are pretty small, I have been treated well at World of Wheels by every employee from floor sales to the service department. If you're in the market for bicycles, electric bicycles, tricycles, electric scooters, and more, this shop is absolutely worth a visit. The store is packed floor to ceiling with inventory and truly has something for everyone from young kids to seniors. They also carry a large selection of accessories, including plenty of safety gear. We've visited several times and have purchased four bikes for our boys. Each time, we were greeted right away and offered assistance. The staff is consistently friendly, knowledgeable, and great at answering questions and helping narrow down the perfect fit. One thing we really appreciate is that they let you test ride the bike outside in the parking lot to make sure the sizing and fit feel right before buying. After you choose a bike, it's taken to the service department for final adjustments to ensure everything is properly fitted and ready to ride. Their service department is spacious and well-equipped, offering washes, tune-ups, and complete overhauls. Went to World of Wheels this past Saturday to see if I could find a 2012 Allez to take home. Wasn't on the floor more than a minute before being approached by owner Steve who proceeded to deliever some of the best customer service around. The shop was busy with many customers yet I felt like the only one there. Steve went through multiple stem changes to find the right fit for me, TOOK ME ON A 5 MINUTE RIDE AROUND THE NEIGHBORHOOD to make sure I was confortable on the bike!!! I have shopped 6 different bike shops in the bay area, was visiting family in Modesto I thought I would try my luck at World of Wheels, now I wish this shop was in San Jose!! Best service I have expierenced in a bike shop yet. Overall a wonderful puchase expierence! Purchased a kids bike from this location in which my son was very happy. Also brought another bike here to have some parts added and was charged 50 bucks for the service which is not a big deal. I was told the service would take 1 hour and I ended waiting a whole day which is also not a big deal. Upon receiving the bike the brakes were locked so they repaired that. Upon taking the bike home my son began to ride it and the chain and the brakes locked up and my son was injured due to this. I brought the bike back to have it repaired again only to have the same exact issue to happen. I feel the way the service department handled this situation was very unprofessional not to mention not bieng able to do there job the proper way and putting my kids safety in danger I would caution any parent going to this location in Modesto. I am an honest person and live by faith. I do not seek revenge only for them to be exposed! I give them 1 star for selling nice bikes read more

The reviews for this place are unbelievable! My husband and I didn't go to this store for so long because of the scary and negative reviews. We finally decided to bite the bullet and give them a try, armed with the knowledge that their customer service would be poor... Boy, were we surprised! Everyone who worked there was friendly, knowledgeable, helpful and patient. We bought TWO BIKES from them and they have provided awesome customer service since then - even repairing the wheels on them after we rode through an orchard and picked up hundreds of thorns - free of charge. My wife and I went by looking for a new mountain bike for her. She had a specific Trek bike she wanted but Fun Sport didn't have it stock, so we tried World of Wheels looking for something comparable. They spent about an hour with us going over the options and letting her test ride what they had (and the place was slammed with customers). Unfortunately they didn't have a bike in stock that met her needs, but they never tried to push a product on us. They were extremely helpful and up front the entire time. In the end, they wished luck in our search. We didn't buy a thing, but was a first class experience. As an aside, I bought a Stumpjumper from them 10 years ago and was very happy with their service. Took my bike here because one of the tires was flat and I though it needed a new tube. Turns out it's a tubeless tire. The guy working the service desk didn't mention that when I hear the guy behind him say "it's a tubeless tire" and the guy at front says "you can still put a tube in it" Why didn't he ask me if I wanted a tube or not? He didn't even mention it. They put a tube in, and charge me $25. Also hardly anyone had a mask on.. not exactly comfortable in there. Anyway, my cousin is borrowing the bike, took it back to get the tube taken out because it won't hold air and the guy says it should have only cost $5 to fix. Feeling like I got ripped off. The owner and or manager of this place has no regard for their customers I bought a 26" rim for a beach cruiser and put the rim on the bike rode it about one block and the rim bent all out of shape? I took it back about an hour after buying it "as I had never had this happen to me before" and the manager treated me like I had no clue what I was doing! If you ask me you are better just buying parts and bikes on line then from these jack asses. Come to find out they didn't tighten the spokes on the rim and that's why the rim had bent. They refused to replace or give me my money back. I want to say they own Fun Sport Bikes too stay away from both these places they will rip you off! read more

This shop has the best customer service! I grew up in Modesto and have been going to World of Wheels since I was a child, they made me feel important when I was a kid and cater to me as an adult. I have not purchased a new bike in years, as I use their shop for repairs on my existing bike ( I intend to buy soon) and would never go anywhere else due to the service I get EVERY time. I came into world of wheels this past weekend and Eric really went above and beyond the call of duty to help us. He was very friendly and knowledgeable. I'm in fact writing this good review because of it weren't for Eric being so helpful, I actually would've been writing a bad review instead. They were really busy and never called me to let me know my tire was ready. I was upset but ended up feeling satisfied after Eric apologized for the inconvenience and fixed my customer portfolio in the system and helped me with getting an air pump as well. I was very excited when I went to go purchase a bike and the lady with brown hair was very helpful and nice. Sine the bike was over my budget I decided to put the bike on layaway. Later on I had an unexpected expense and could no longer afford the bike well when I informed the lady with brown hair I no longer wanted the bike she was extremely rude, gave me attitude, and when I had asked her about my deposit she treated me as if I was trying to steal from them. I used to like this place. I went in a week ago wanting to upgrade my single speed. I needed to shorten my crank arms and put a break on it. I also wanted to put a freewheel hub on my back tire to have a flip-flop wheel. i paid almost three hundred dollars. what happened?? They replaced my crank arms with the same size not a step smaller and nothing else. so, I paid for a service I didn't even receive. don't go here just order your own parts and fix your own bikes these people have excuses and rip people off for a ten-minute job!! read more

Even if I don't know exactly what I am looking for, all I have to do is describe it and he knows what it is. Very regimented and efficient operation. I have been to the store on many occasions (bikes, parts, service), most recently on 7/24/11 with a gear issue on my aging Trek. Despite the fact that the store was very busy the owner immediately inquired as to my need, took my bike and examined it on the rack. I found a great bike shop in Modesto. This place has excellent customer service. Amazing selection of bikes. If they don't have the color in stock they can order it in a few days. Also, group cycling rides for beginners to intermediate. Surely something I would like to look into. Keep up the super service. read more

After getting into a car accident on my way to work, I needed my rear wheel replaced, so I brought it to Tracy Cyclery. When I dropped it off, I was told vaguely that someone would call me with more details. After about a month with no update, I called them myself and was told that my bike had essentially just been sitting on a shelf. I agreed to have the necessary parts ordered and was told it would be ready for pickup in about a week. Two weeks later, having heard nothing, I called again. I was then asked if I wanted the parts ordered. I explained that I had already spoken with someone two weeks earlier and had already agreed to have them ordered. I was told, "I guess it just slipped through the cracks," and was assured that I would receive an update soon. After another week and a half with no response, I called again and was told the bike still wasn't ready. At that point, I decided to pick up my wheel and take it somewhere else for service. When I came in today to pick it up, I was hoping to have a respectful conversation and simply have my concerns acknowledged. Instead, the owner argued with me about the situation, completely shut me out, and ultimately turned his back on me while I was trying to explain my frustration and seek some understanding. After weeks of having to repeatedly follow up myself, I found that response extremely disappointing and unprofessional. I understand that mistakes happen, especially at a small business. What was most frustrating, however, was having to initiate every follow-up myself and repeatedly discovering that little or no progress had been made. Given that this bike is my only transportation, the lack of communication and job tracking had a real impact on me. I hope this feedback helps improve communication, repair tracking, and customer service in the future. I ultimately had to take my business elsewhere. If you value your time, money, and quality service, do not go here.
