Do not bother with this office if you have a baby or young child. I had scheduled an exam for my (barely) 1 year old child to get established with a dentist. Keeping in mind he only has about 5 teeth total. The office called to confirm our appointment, and I asked what would happen at the appointment. I was told they would do a fluoride cleaning and exam. I told them my child is too young for a fluoride cleaning, and we like to pass on any fluoride use at this time. They told me if we decline the use of fluoride, then they will not even do an EXAM and cannot see my child as a patient. The appointment was canceled so I called "Little Dental Pediatric Dentistry" and made an appointment with them. They agreed to simply note in his chart "No fluoride" and confirmed that it's perfectly acceptable to delay the use of fluoride for babies. Highly recommend going to "Little Dental Pediatric Dentistry" on San Pedro Ave instead. I DO NOT RECOMMEND "World Pediatric Dental". read more

My babies have been going to this dentist for over 4 years and today I had my very first bad, horrible experience. My baby went in to get filings and a silver cap, they gave her the medication and the nitrous gas, she cried, screamed, kicked, and felt everything!!! I was not happy, I was pissed. No one ever paints a pretty picture when it comes to a dental visit. Any type of doctor visit actually, lol. But with World Pediatric Dental in operation, you actually can! Even upon entry to the office, children are immediately invited to watch tv or choose from several interactive games to play. Why didn't anything like this exist when I was young?! Back in the day it was sit inside this white walled box and flip through a 10 year old magazine while you await your dental doom! Lol! Once admitted to the back you come upon a wall of prizes! Yes, a wall! Filled with options of toys that the children can choose from on the way out after their visit. Water and coffee is offered to parents! The patient chairs are of all colors and each station has a tv hung on the ceiling where children can watch their movie/show of choice while they are being examined/worked on. My daughter has been coming to this office since she was born and we've always had a good experience with a great staff, until today. One of the young X-ray girls taking my daughters X-rays got frustrated very quickly and said some inappropriate things, in my opinion. For example, "Do you want your mom to leave and you stay here all day until we get this done?" Also, "All kids over the age of 3 can do these X-rays, I'm not sure why your daughter isn't getting it." My thought was, maybe because you're not very friendly or making her feel comfortable I just think if you don't like kids or if you get frustrated easily then maybe don't go into a profession that is surrounded with kids? I understand that the staff has a job to do, but don't take your frustrations out on a kid. So, we unfortunately will not be returning to this office due to how uncomfortable the X-ray girl made my daughter and myself feel. read more

First, I'm going to start like this, this place I love for my kids because when it comes to my kid's dental work and physical check-ups, I'm incredibly picky. I learned about world Pediatrics because of all the good reviews I saw on FB and Google; I am incredibly disappointed with this place. It was a fantastic place when I came here; so good that my daughter loved coming here; I never had an issue with anyone at this facility until recently. The first time I had a bad experience was when I had to take my daughter to undergo surgery for her teeth; well before we arrived, my daughter sipped Gatorade, and she shouldn't have consumed anything because of her procedure. So I let the ladies up front know because they did ask if she had anything to drink and eat, and I did tell them she sipped Gatorade. So the young lady that was upfront which I believe was Dani (Patient Coordinator), said she would let the doctors know, so I sat down and waited; about 5 mins had passed, and Dr. Dutta came out and informed us that we would have to wait about an hour and a half because my daughter sipped on Gatorade, and that morning we were swamped I would need to reschedule. As my husband and I were talking about what to do, Dr. Dutta, with a rude attitude and interrupting us as we spoke, said well, no matter what, you will need to wait the hour. I don't know if he was having a bad morning or whatever the case was, but my husband found it rude as for me, I'm more of an understanding person because, as I mentioned, I work for dental offices, and I know doctors have there mornings so I talked to my husband and said to him that he might just be having a bad morning. But even if I defended Mr. Dutta's behavior, Dr. Dutta should not have interrupted us, especially since Dr. Dutta is the facility's owner and the doctor. What a lot of these doctors fail to realize is that the energy you put out to your patients will get picked up real quick; you need to have patience, especially in the line of work that he does, with no patience and understanding yourself as a human being, educator and prime example for children and also your staff will rub off on your on staff and patients. Mrs. Dani said it would take up to 6 weeks to get my money. I was agitated, but what could I do? It was their policy, and I did have to wait. Today, 08/16/2022, I received a phone call from Dani, the patient care coordinator; she asked if the address they had on file was correct, and I said yes and asked why. She stated that she would be mailing out the check for the refund, and my husband heard our conversation because she was being recorded and she was on speaker, so he continued the conversation with her. She began to yell at my husband, saying she couldn't refund our money straight to our bank because the new system they had didn't do refunds, so now that was a coincidence that had to happen now as I'm getting my refund or she was being rude, as for me I feel she was retaliating. Mrs. Dani yelled at my husband and hung up on him, and as I called back, she was hanging up the phone on me and would pick up then hang up or answer and leave me on the line, so I kept calling and calling till she answered and when she did I stated I was calling the board and writing them a letter and she stated that Dr. Dutta needed to speak to me if it was okay if he called me back, then five mins later I received my refund. I feel like Mrs. Dani was giving me fraudulent information and retaliating because we asked for our money back, or she was also having a bad day. I'm incredibly disappointed with Dr. Dutta and his front office staff and how they handle overwhelming/agitated patients. Suppose you find yourself in a line of work where you constantly deal with patients all day and have no patience. Then this kind of work is not for you. I don't blame the assistant or the staff for their lousy behavior. I blame the doctor because of his behavior. I always lived by, you hire what you're looking for, and Dr. Dutta is looking for rude assistance because he is one himself. I will be notify the board read more

Our first and ONLY visit was today. The only reason this review is 1 star and not 0 is because the front staff were kind and helpful. That is where our positive experience ended. I'll keep it short: 1) We had to wait for 40 minutes, with no explanation or apology. 2) My husband took off work to come, and instead of telling us during the reminder call the day before, they waited to tell us at check-in that only one parent can go with our child into the back. So he wasted time off work that could have easily been avoided. Very inconsiderate on their part. 3) The dentist spent the entire time lecturing me on breastfeeding my daughter. She is only 19 months. The WHO (world health organization) recommends breastfeeding until 2 years "and beyond". I understand this may increase the risk of cavities and that as a dentist he is obligated to discuss that risk, but he completely overstepped the line of professionalism by telling me that I need to wean my daughter, that it's bad for her health, that it will be "harder for me than her", and by telling me to "work on weaning her in the next 3 months before our next visit". This is utterly and completely unacceptable coming from a DENTIST. My relationship with my daughter and my parenting choices are mine, and mine alone. He has NO business telling mothers to wean their children before they are ready to. That is an INTENSELY personal decision, and one a stranger (MUCH LESS a man) has no place passing judgment or dropping guilt. He said my daughter's teeth looked great - so what's the problem? We mitigate the risks of breastfeeding with extra toothbrushing and it works. That's OUR choice. He didn't even ask me if my daughter eats sugar, or drinks juice, or any other poor dental hygiene habit. He spent the entire visit lecturing and shaming me for breastfeeding. Unprofessional. Unacceptable. Chauvinistic and egotistical. 4) During the actual inspection and cleaning, the dental staff held my 19 month old toddler down and aggressively cleaned her teeth. The dentist did not even ATTEMPT to encourage her own participation (which we have painstakingly worked on), and instead just forced her mouth open while she cried. I was about to cause a scene and tell him to stop, but he was finished before I found the words. I was so shocked by the experience. I wish I had spoken out while there, but I was cowed by his demeanor and the presence of 3 staff members (though my husband couldn't join!?) so I stayed too quiet. I'm not staying quiet now. I can't believe they don't even TRY to get the child to work with them and make the experience positive. Obviously they are so rushed to see the next patient that they can't even take a few minutes to make the visit enjoyable for a young child in a scary situation. 5) A small issue, but they give away balloons. It's 2020 - everyone with any sense knows balloons are horrible for the environment and kill sea turtles and birds. Yet here they are, passing out thousands of balloons a year. 6) For some reason, and I think it's PROFIT, they schedule appointments every 3 months when most insurance only covers every 6 months. So parents are forced to pay out of pocket for pointless appointments. This seems incredibly money-driven and not with the best interests of the patients in mind - only their money. 7) The waiting area was dirty, the iPads in the kid area were broken. In other words - with SO many other options out there for pediatric dentistry, don't spend your time and money here. read more

The best dentist and office I have ever seen! The entire staff are helpful from the door and would help you to the parking lot literally! They are patient, kind, come to the lobby to help, and make my kids comfortable. I have a daughter with autism and they specialize in working with kids with disabilities. They understand her and it is definitely a judgement-free zone! Dr Dutta is absolutely brilliant! He was the first to notice tremors in my daughters hands at the age of 1 and recommended she be evaluated. This led to a neurological disorder. Office staff is very rude and snarky. The "girls" behind the counter like to laugh and make comments about the patients while they're standing in the lobby, very rude and unprofessional (You know who you are).We are parents of twins and they would only allow one parent back. My 7 week old baby is in for a consult for a very invasive oral surgery and they absolutely refused to let 2 parents back. This was not conveyed by the office staff until the very moment we were supposed to go back. Then they were very rude and told us we should have known that "we" sent you the information which was a lie. I asked to speak with the mgr or Dr..... At that point the "girls" told us they thought it would be best we don't come back. Now I'm really pissed because I just spent an hour here filling out their stupid paperwork . I demanded to speak to the manager or doctor. The doctor came out and explained their policies which I don't agree with but whatever just some warning would be nice. We love coming here. The staff is great and Dr Dutta is awesome. My kids never complain when we go they are always excited. PARENTS BE AWARE. I am taking the time to write this review due to a concern of safety for children and the fact that an absurd beyond disrespectful incident that happend with my son and wife, also to make other parents aware of this facility. Dr. Oshmi Dutta had the nerve to yell at my son that is 4 years old and my wife as well. The staff at the front desk is beyond disgusting / rude and disrespectful. How this circus is still in operation is beyond my understanding. My son was yelled at by Dr. Oshmi dutta because he was having difficulties laying down, it scared him so badly that my son accidentally dropped a blood pressure machine that rests on his finger. The doctor then proceeded to accuse my son that he dropped the machine on purpose after yelling at him in front of my wife. I will be filling a complaint with the texas medical board and I will go to the fullest extent to have this doctors medical license revoked. Do not let the other "good" reviews and the scenery of "stone oak" fool you, this practice needs to be shut down immediately. Came in for a Saturday appointment, which means I don't have to miss work for my daughter to get a cleaning. Walked into the office building, came up to the 3rd floor and was blown away. Immaculately clean, very bright and welcoming. The office canvases much of the 3rd floor so I imagine they see a lot of patients.. So that means lots of flexibility in appointments. The staff was very warm towards us, and gentle with my daughter who tends to freak over the smallest things. Elite coffee beverages were offered to me, and all information forms were taken on an iPad. That's a bonus cause I hate handwriting forms. The dentist was jovial and seemed to love kids and his job! He was wonderful with my daughter. I can't wait to come again, cause I feel my daughter is in great hands here. read more

World Pediatric made an insurance billing mistake that took them two years to figure out and then they couldn't get the money from the insurance, so instead of writing it off, they charged us for it and the whole time refused to admit their mistake. The office staff here is HORRIBLE! When a claim was paid incorrectly, instead of helping correct the issue, the staff repeatedly told me I don't understand my insurance benefits. They told me that I had to pay for a covered treatment before they would see my children. ON THE DAY OF THEIR APPOINTMENT. I spent almost 2 hours on the phone with Belinda, trying to explain my insurance plan to her, but she continued to argue with me. She refused to call my insurance company to resolve the issue. When I asked to speak to her manager, Dr. Dutta answered the phone and condescendingly told me that, "the office ladies are very smart; they can sit down and explain your plan to you. I will even sit down and explain it to you." He refused to listen to me, and insinuated that I am an idiot. He refused to call my insurance company so they could explain to him what he and his office staff did not understand, and stated that I could have the representative I spoke with call him. Insurance company reps do not call offices, but will speak with them if THEY call. Hopefully the office staff receives training on how to read eobs so this doesn't happen to anyone else. This whole situation was very frustrating. No one would listen to me. The insurance rep told me I was correct, and ended up emailing me a copy of my eob so I can try to explain it to the office staff. I am so disappointed because my kids have gone here for almost 2 years and love coming here. Now we have to try to find another dentist. UPDATE: The next day, my union benefits rep tried to conference call with Belinda and a manager from my insurance company so they could resolve the issue and educate the office staff as to the correct benefits information and Belinda REFUSED to speak with them. My children have been seeing Dr. Dutta since he opened his practice at the stone oak location. He and his staff have always been amazing. He is exceptionally skilled and his bedside manner always puts my children at ease. We have had a handful of dental emergencies to be addressed and his staff have always been incredibly responsive and helpful in getting my daughters seen expeditiously. After scheduling my three children's appointments a couple of weeks ago, when the office called to confirm yesterday, they informed me that there would be an out of pocket expense of $130 for panoramic x-rays. I told the woman on the phone that they just had those done in VA in February so it shouldn't be necessary and I can just have them sent to their office. Long story short I was told that it is mandatory to have them done there regardless of whether or not they have been done elsewhere recently and if I am not willing to pay for them, "Perhaps we are not the dental practice for you." I spoke to the office manager and she emphasized that I can not elect to not have this service done. I have to question what else they could have made "mandatory" once we were established patients there that my insurance may not have covered. The office seemed to have a very solid our way or the highway attitude, and that could get out of control with dental procedures. I would hate to get to a point where we had established care there and had to leave because they insisted on excess "care" (costs) that would be considered unnecessary elsewhere. After reading the other low reviews here, I see this has been a problem for other established and would be patients as well which should not come as a surprise. I also see that the dentist and office personnel are happy to reply that it is all necessary. If is isn't in the effort of monetary gain, then why aren't the majority of practices requiring the same procedures? I would be wary of any medical provider that tells me I have no choice in my care at their office and if I don't like that I can take my business elsewhere. read more

I was very unhappy with the care my son received at World Pediatric Dentistry. I am a registered nurse and even I could not follow anything Dr. Dutta said to me after my son suffered a traumatic fall and injury to his teeth in May of 2017. He spoke to me in dental jargon and was very VERY rude. I felt he was criticizing me and my child rather than providing care to my hurt child. He was harsh and cold to my son. He was not warm or caring. Didn't give my son a chance to ask questions and proceeded to examine him. It made me very uncomfortable. My son told Dr. Dutta that he didn't like him; and Dr. Dutta got very defensive and offended ( my son is THREE). He made me feel like my son would end up losing the tooth prematurely. We got a second opinion who seemed much more optimistic and explained things in a way I could understand. My son didn't cry. He didn't scream. He didn't even have to be held down because they were patient and explained to him what they were doing. They allowed him to have autonomy of his body, and showed him respect. Two years later and I am still so glad we stopped going to him because he was wanting to pull My sons tooth-- I'm glad we didn't because even though he said the tooth had a poor prognosis- it has gone back into place and he has a PERFECT smile now. read more

We were referred by our dentist to World Pediatric Dentisry for our 3.5 year old son as he needed filling and crowns. First, i was very impressed by the place it self... Very clean and spacious and high end decor. There is an area for xbox games which is awesome for adults to play with their kids too. The staff was really nice and welcomed us immediately. We didn't wait long for our appointment even though i wouldn't had mind because i was enjoying playing games Now the best part, my son gave the hard time to take X-rays and was hysterically crying the whole time, they were very patient with him and eventually managed to get the X-rays. We saw Dr. Dutta who is an awesome funny doctor who made me and my son feel very comfortable. He was playing with my son to calm him down and managed to get his attention and persuade him to finally open his mouth Dr Dutta had a plan for my son to gain his trust, he has been scheduling " Happy Time" visits for my son where they sit together, offers him hot cocoa and gives him some toys they play for 10-15 min and then we go home. My son used to cry his heart out when you mention the word DR... Now when we tell him we are going he will run to get ready and be excited. He has done a magnificent job, we are very very happy with him and will send the rest of my kids to see him. This was a first for a positive experience in a pediatric dental office for us! My daughter is only 2 but was fearful of the previous dental office. She was comfortable the minute she walked in here. It was very welcoming, and having a fun interactive projector on the floor was a huge plus for both of us! The dentist was thorough and my daughter didn't cry at all during her exam (thanks to Frozen playing on the ceiling!!). Update: so due to our dissatisfaction around the next steps we would need to take and the inability for the dentist to work with us- due to their policy- we asked that they send the xrays over to a new de twist. Now we are being told to release my own children's forms we have to pay $30 for these. I've done this in the past in the last city we lived searching for the right dentist and when we moved here and never did an office say they would charge us for our kids records. This makes me convinced that their policies are a part of a way to MAKE MORE money than provide great and tailored service. Great place and wonderful dentist however if you don't believe in the use of laughing gas for simple things like sealants then don't come. It's their policy. For this reason we will need to find another location. We wish this place could have worked out. Our last dentist worked with us and never provided laughing gas or anything else for our daughter even when she needed a crown. read more

One hour wait and no apology. I would never recommend this place. The fancy decor means nothing if the customer service is a zero.

This dentist's behavior and comments he made to my wife were unprofessional and completely unacceptable. The way he handled my daughter during her cleaning was shockingly callous, and with a complete lack of decorum for the situation. Before he even looked at my daughter's teeth, he immediately began lecturing my wife about breastfeeding and how she needed to stop. He told her "most parents know there's no nutritional benefit at this point" as if my wife were ignorant. He is neither pediatrician nor parent to my child, and therefore is in no position to give medical advice that is outside his purview. The World Health Organization recommends breastfeeding until the age of 2 "and beyond" because of health and well-being benefits, and his complete dismissal of the many benefits of nursing in favor of the slight increased risk of cavities in teeth that will fall out in a few years anyway is baffling. It angers me to think of the mothers he has convinced to stop breastfeeding just based on his clear bias against it. He has no business and no right to tell parents how to parent and raise their children. He never once asked if our daughter had juice or sugar in her diet (she doesn't), which are far more dangerous than breastmilk. He seemed so focused on his anti-breastfeeding crusade that it clouded any ability to provide actual dental care, and left my wife feeling shamed, attacked, and embarrassed. She let the doctor know she would not be weaning our daughter and he continued to lecture her about the need to wean, even suggesting it be done 'by our next visit' and telling her that weaning would be harder on my wife than on our daughter. These sorts of comments are completely unprofessional and far outside the bounds of what he should be telling people. We understand his obligation to inform us of the increased risk of cavities from breastfeeding, but that is where his advice should end. When he began the exam on my 1.5 year old daughter he immediately pried her mouth open. He did not talk to her, did not attempt to allow her to open her mouth on her own (which she does because we brush twice a day), and did not exhibit any attempt to engage her participation as we have heard of many other pediatric dentists doing. My daughter was crying the entire time, and the dentist was completely indifferent - offering no solace, not talking to her, and not even acknowledging her fear or upset. My wife was completely shocked and said she was about to stop the dentist and remove our daughter from the room, but he finished right as she was about to say something. She told me later that all she wanted was to get away from him, which is certainly not how any patient should ever feel. During the exam he told my wife our daughter has moderate plaque and continued on about weaning her from breastfeeding. When the exam was complete, however, he told my wife that our daughter had great teeth and to keep doing what we were doing. It is very contradictory to be told we are doing something wrong and then be told that her teeth look great, no issues. As he left the room, he once again told my wife she needs to stop breastfeeding within three months. How is this acceptable behavior? This is a HUGE breach of privacy and is extremely discriminatory against breastfeeding. HE DOES NOT GET TO DECIDE HOW WE RAISE OUR CHILD. PERIOD. All he is supposed to do is advise on the risks. When I saw the look on my wife's face as she came back into the lobby, I knew something was horribly wrong. My wife is seldom at a loss for words. So for her to have felt unable to speak up, I know that this dentist's behavior is overtly intimidating and forceful. We will obviously not be returning to his practice. We read hundreds of reviews online and found that our experience was not unique - his practice is incredibly anti-breastfeeding, and his handling of young children is questionable when compared with the patience and compassion so many other pediatric dentists show to their young patients. read more

This experience was the worst experience for a child or their parent. The DR was quick to recommend general anasthetic for a 6 year old and explained how many they do a month and a day and it's safe. This was simply for cavities. They explained my son needed crowns and possible root canals on baby teeth. Being a part of a family with several doctors, we immediately sought 2 other options of 2 other dentists which would not recommend general anasthetic for anyone of that age for dental work. That was absurd. World Pediatric Dental immediately wanted to talk about money and how to pay for it. $2,000 for baby teeth which will fall out. I'm concerned what else they have told other parents. We had the cavities addressed with another dentist whom did the appropriate work and educated us on diet changed and also tested our child's saliva which was acidic and could be corrected with a mouthwash to promote good health. I would never recommend this place to anyone. read more
