This issue was discovered by me rather than proactively identified by the office despite months of waiting for care. I also had concerns regarding the professionalism of front office staff. During a scheduling call, I found the interaction dismissive, condescending, and unhelpful. When I requested management involvement, I was told management would review the matter, but I never received the callback I requested. Instead of communicating directly with me regarding my concerns, information about the situation was reportedly discussed with my case manager. This has raised serious questions for me about communication practices, patient respect, and whether discussions about my complaint were necessary and appropriate. My concerns include delays in care, poor communication, failure to return management calls, referral coordination issues, and lack of transparency regarding requests for records and information. Patients deserve professionalism, accountability, and direct communication when concerns are raised.

My husband and kids came with me to check me in because I was so anxious, and the staff couldn't have been kinder or more understanding. Not once did anyone make me feel embarrassed or judged for how long I had neglected my teeth. Instead, they treated me with compassion and encouragement. As expected, 10 years without dental care meant I needed quite a bit of work. About five hours later, I left with a clean, healthy mouth and a treatment plan that I actually feel motivated to follow. A very special thank you to Estte (Irma). She was incredibly gentle, patient, and compassionate throughout the entire appointment. She gave me breaks whenever I needed them, comforted me when I became overwhelmed and cried, and never made me feel like I was a burden. By the end of those five hours, she had completely transformed not only my smile but also the way I feel about going to the dentist. I joked that I felt like part of my soul was left in that chair, but she and the entire team made such a difficult day into an experience I'll never forget. I truly feel like they changed my life. The entire week before my appointment, i had anxiety and i was scared of the pain that was yet to come! Literally - every video i watched, made it seem as if it's gonna be one of the worst experiences ever. A huge thank you to Dr. Alvarado & his assistant for taking care of me because they proved me wrong that i shouldn't be scared. He was very cool, went into details about everything I should know or wanted to know. Really understanding as well! Being that I don't live close to the area, he gave me an option about the procedure.. either take the local anesthetic (& be awake the entire time) or make another appointment so that another doctor could come in (& i can sleep through the procedure). Decided to take the local anesthetic instead even though I was scared lol but he made it a reallllyyy smooth procedure and before i know it, it was over in less than 45-50 minutes for all 4! Every staff member was very kind to me and my bf! If you're waiting for someone, they have a tv in the waiting room and they let you choose a movie lol. Also as a patient, you get to choose what you want to watch during the procedure if you're lying down! The TV was facing towards the floor which i thought was cool and different in a dental room for once lol. The interior design is also beautiful! Big windows with views (it's tinted so don't worry about strangers driving by staring at you). Looks exactly what you'd expect UPDATE ON MY GUMS/TEETH: healed nicely and quickly. So thankful i got them out because they were causing so much pain.

She was a wonderful assistant, a true asset to the office, and a real loss when she left. I always enjoyed my visits, and I appreciated watching how confidently Dr. Martinez worked. Things changed when Mary joined the office. I felt she was not honest with me about scheduling, and I brought my concerns directly to Dr. Martinez, hoping he would address the issue. Nothing changed. Later, when I needed another dentist to review my records, I asked Mary to transfer them. She was impatient, told me she would take care of it, and never did. That incident made my decision clear. I wish Dr. Martinez had taken my concerns seriously when we spoke, but because nothing was done, I will not be returning to his office. I have since found another dentist whose office is just as skilled and far more caring and friendly. In my opinion, Mary hurt his practice, and it is unfortunate that the problems were not addressed when they were brought to his attention.

I appreciate her professionalism, have built a rapport with her and that she's not excessively chatty. She's given me tips over the years and I know I'm in good hands when I'm being attended by her. I get disappointed if she isn't available. I had X-rays today and those bite-wing things can be overwhelming in the mouth so I just focused because at one point I almost threw up for some reason when it was towards the back of my mouth but I held it together. Luckily it's only once a year. Everything was straightforward and afterwards, Dr. Ruiz examined my mouth, scraped a little and I asked her about getting a new, thinner Mouthguard that will act like a Retainer. At first she mentioned one product that was for my upper and lower teeth but I told her I didn't have braces on my lower teeth so she thought about it and decided to have me try something else. I ended up ordering an Essix Retainer that's thicker than a regular Invisalign Retainer which is more flimsy so it acts like a Night Guard. I was able to get an iTero mouth/teeth 3D scan at the beginning of my appointment so I was able to skip an appointment and just come for the fitting later this month. The 3D scan is a new and free procedure that tracks changes in your mouth/teeth for future reference. Dr. Ruiz was very nice in our brief visit. My regular dentist is currently on Maternity Leave. As always, I leave with extra sample toothpaste, toothbrush and floss. The office has a Keurig machine, chips tray and bottled water in a small fridge and an Air Purifier out in the waiting room.

Check-in was smooth and they accepted Delta Dental insurance. Everyone was very welcoming from the receptionist, to the dental assistant (Lovely), to the dentists (Dr. Esther and Dr. John), and to the hygienist (Tabitha) who cleaned my teeth. I felt very at home and loved that played Christian music and even had on Christian tv shows on in the rooms. They have very up to date equipment and technology, including mobile x-rays of your teeth that they can do on you in your room instead of having to go to the x-ray room (however they did both for me this visit). Dr. Esther addressed all issues I had with my teeth and reassured me of everything. This was overall a great experience and I look forward to being a long-term patient!
