These guys are fantastic. I came in originally based on Yelp reviews, and had some much overdue service done on an older Breitling. I had previously taken it to a high end jewelry place that sold them, and they had sent it off "to the factory" for what they explained was a high end service. Son opened it up and sent pictures of just how dirty the interior casing was; they basically just sprayed oil into it without cleaning anything before. Once Son was done with it, it was embarrassing how bad it was done the first time around. Son cleaned it thoroughly, and found and replaced two tiny parts that were either broken or not in place. He kept the parts for me and they were so small you could barely see them. When it was all back together, he even polished the band. The final product was indistinguishable from a brand new watch. It runs smoother, winds cleaner, and doesn't lose any time. I just can't say enough about it. I've since had other watches in, including one I bought on the internet which he was able to authenticate and service. It does take time, but not more time than sending it away to Switzerland for service, and Son provides a better warranty and in my experience much higher quality than some "close to factory" service work. read more

Had my Movado battery changed. He said 15 minutes and he was done in 15 minutes. Sweet. $25, inline with what I paid at another place. I left my TAG Heuer SE/L there to get the cracked crystal replaced ($120). I also had the links cleaned and tightened ($80). I get it back in 2-4 weeks, so I'm hoping to be impressed. Well, I finally picked up my watch after waiting for more than 4 weeks for them to order part and when it arrived no one bothered to notify me until I call. When I came in, they made a big stink about having to leave my watch with them, which I do not want to. They ask to come back in 1 week and keeps on bragging about being super busy, well I don't see any one in the shop each time I came in. I went here yesterday to have two watch batteries replaced. I have now used World Time on two different occasions, I returned because I was satisfied with my service the first time. However, after this last visit I will not be returning. 2 weeks ago I brought them one of my watches that needed its battery replaced. I liked how quick and "reasonably" priced ( without doing much research around on pricing). They charged 10 dollars for a watch battery replacement. However, this last visit with my two watches. I walked in and was greeted he instantly guessed that I needed a watch battery. With out much more being said, promptly took both watches to the back. As he was walking away I asked "How much is it going to cost?", he stops looks at both watches and after about a short pause, says "$15 and $15". I quickly said "Wait, last time I was here you charged $10 dollars why is it more expensive?" His reasoning was because BOTH watches were waterproof. This was not true, one was a Zodiac which is waterproof, the other was not.... He ended up taking the watches to the back and then in a foreign language to his partner started conversing and laughing immediately after the exchange about pricing. After fixing the watch, he comes out and gives me the final pricing of $15 and $10 dollars and then tries to smooth things over with i've given you a really good battery. I will last extra long. Please take note of this review if you are considering their services. I feel that their pricing is not honest and is done on a whim and it all depends on who you are when you come into their shop. read more

If you need a battery replaced, I'm not sure how you could beat this place, other than cost, but I think they are all pretty much the same. Needed a battery replacement in a throw-away watch, stopped in, he replaced it in 2 minutes, and I paid $10 (more than the cost of the watch). The watch is still working. Came in to replace the battery on my old Swiss Army watch. I was very pleasantly surprised at their low cost. They even replaced my watch band free of charge when it broke during the repair. Son does an acceptable job in servicing BUT 2 problems - his lying, overcharging. - He lies about things here and there. So far, his lies haven't resulted in any negative consequence on my end YET, but I bet that if something went wrong, he'd lie to get away with it. I worry very much that one day, he messes up my job and tells me some big BS... -He overcharges BIG TIME on high end watch services. The same issue was expressed by others. When it comes to high end watch jobs, he'd charge big, I mean like $400/hr. His argument is that watch manufacturers would charge more....dude..wake up.. of course.. bc the manufacturer guarantees the job quality and they got all the special tools custom made for servicing each watch... Plus their knowledge pool of being the manufacturer of the watch...Not to mention all the parts they'd replace during the work. None of which any street watchmaker can possibly compete with. With some jobs, he asked so much that I just sent my watch to Switzerland/Germany. read more

I own an Alpha Chronograph, not a fancy watch, but $200 Chinese made watch. The chronograph had stopped working. Brought the watch to World Time, explained that the watch was not working. The repair person said "give me ten minutes". I sat down and waited. Then I saw the owner go back and speak with the repair person and take my watch from the repair person. The owner said to me "this is a copy", I said "no it is an Alpha watch, made in China, but not a copy". He said "low quality, won't work on it" and handed me the watch. I realize that my watch is not a Rolex or Omega, but I was willing to pay to have the watch repaired. read more

I don't think I would come back to this shop again. The last 2 times I went here, the guy is overcharging me. I found out he was charging twice the normal charge to replace a dial and hands on the watch. He seems like he's not very carefull with the watch. Whenever I go there, he likes to play around vigorously with the crown on your watch, without asking you. Last time he tapped on the crystal of my watch with a big heavy pen while he said "Where'd you get this watch. Good thing it didn't get a scratch because it was an expensive watch. Lastly, the last time I went to ask him to change the dial and hands on my watch. My watch stop working. I had to come back twice to get the watch fix. He also has a problem with punctuality. For Christmas this past year, my dad gave me a watch. It was a nice watch, don't get me wrong, but he bought it from a jewelry wholesaler and it was a second from them. Since it was second there was an issue with the band of the watch (and not to mention this little diamond symbol) that made it a little too much to wear. Oh, yeah, did I mention that it was gold-toned, and it made it look like a bracelet? Enter World Time. I've been to World Time previously to get a battery changed out on one of my watches. I remembered it cost an arm and a leg, but that was because I think that they had to make sure that the waterproofing seal wouldn't leak ... but I digress. I went here after work, walked-in, showed the repair person my watch, and they got to work on it immediately. They had a wide selection of watch straps to select from which was nice. I selected a simple, black alligator-style strap, and honestly, now the watch looks ten times better, and I look like less of a guido and looks really sophisticated. The strap and installation was only $24. Highly recommended for repairs and battery changes. They look like they specialize in Rolex and Seikos. Service is great and really helpful! read more

I had two watches, an Omega and a Gucci watch that stopped working because the battery ran out. The dealers were asking for a lot of money to service them and it was going to take a while. I found this place on Yelp.com!!! yeah!! I love yelp! With the exception of one reviewer, this place have gotten 5 stars all throuhout so I've decided to give it a try. I got there at 6:30pm, just before they closed. They changed both of the batteries for me in 15 min for $30. I thought they won't do much more than just changing the battery. Wrong!! They performed water pressure testing and everything else to ensure it's completely sealed. Very professional. On top of it, they fully cleaned my watched and made all the needed time adjustments. You can actually see them work through the large glass windows. The service was superb and guys were friendly. I highly recommend and am so glad I know where to go next time my watch needs servicing. thanks! read more

My first visit to World Time today and couldn't be happier! I brought in two watches today, one for a battery replacement and the other needed a screw(s) tightened on the band. Price was good and service top-notch! They were courteous and prompt. He also gave me cautions...okay for daily wear, but no swimming (gaskets need replaced). I really appreciate the honest service! I have had about a dozen services done here, mostly mechanical watch clean/repair over the last few years...Ulysse Nardin, Rolex, Omega, Tag, Cartier..any ETA movement is a slam dunk, and ever complicated stuff like my Ulysse Nardin Marine Annual he can handle...he can order parts from the big manufacturers like Omega/Rolex, which means he is certified wth them, which is a big deal...he's doing the work right there, not just sending it off to the service centers...many places are not, and the ones that are charge quite a bit more than Son does....AND, I have never had an issue...once my wife got water in her Cartier automatic just AFTER I had it serviced, so it was running fast...I brought it back and he re-serviced it for me no charge. Wow! Son is knowledgeable and honest..if he cannot do something he will tell you he can't do it, and he has a good reason why not. Also have had batteries and watch strap sizings done here many times, never an issue and the price is right...there are cheaper places I am sure, but I feel more comfortable knowing it's done right, with a good battery, and the proper tools for strap sizings. Son is the man and his staff are great too. World Time, a great find in the South Bay! read more

Location is next door to Santana Row and across from Valley Fair Mall (it's in the tiny shopping center across the street from Bank of America). Great service, and good people run it. Based on the good reviews from Yelp, I took an antique pocket watch here for service and a repair. As per the claim check, I dropped off the watch on May 2, and was told that it would be ready in 8-10 weeks. According to that estimate, I should have had the watch back in early July. As it was, they did not have it ready until November. The needed repair was a replacement of the second hand. That repair was never done because they couldn't find the right parts. When I took the watch in for servicing, I was told that servicing would make it run longer on a single winding. Now that I have the watch back, it runs about a day on each winding -- the same amount of time that it did before. Worst of all, there is new damage to the crystal cover that protects the watch face. So instead of getting back a repaired watch, I got a watch that is more damaged than when I took it in. When I originally expressed concern that they had damaged the crystal cover that protects the watch face, they claimed that this damage was there before. However, they had clearly marked the one place where they thought the watch had damage on the original claim check, and it is not where the new damage is. After I wrote a Yelp review describing my experiences here and brought in photos of the watch showing that the damage had not been there before the repair, they refunded me the money they had charged me for servicing the watch. Based on the other reviews here, I suspect that this is a fine place to go if you have a modern watch that needs a simple repair. However, I wouldn't trust them with anything that is unusual or antique. read more

I'm not sure how to rate this place, I'll have to visit again, I brought several watches in for batteries, but seems to range $10-15 each, based on brand of watch.(why?). I usually go to the watch repair on Story road ($5), but I was in the area. They claim to use better quality batteries. That was amusing to me... if you're using Everready or Duracell, they're pretty much the same. The men were pleasant though. read more

Just had my 16710 serviced here. He provides a warranty one year longer than Rolex or any manufacturer for that matter 4 stars due to the turn around time. It's quite slow compared to other Watch makers that I've been to. While swimming, my 14 yr old waterproof Tag Heuer watch sprung a leak. It stopped running and had obvious water spots inside. I feared it was a goner. I brought it to an authorized Tag Heuer dealer who wanted 4-6 weeks to get me and estimate and at least another 4-6 weeks for the repair. Deciding this was too long, I brought it to World Time. I had an estimate the same day and two weeks later it was fully refurbished and pressure tested. It looks and works as good as new - the face, the case everything. To say I am impressed is an understatement. These guys know what they are doing and really didn't charge a whole lot given how difficult and specialized swiss watch repair is. The guy who repaired my watch seemed knowledgeable and competent. He fixed the date display on my watch for $165. At first blush, the price seemed high. But then he explained that, once a watch is taken apart, every component had to be scrutinized. After hearing that he had spent over four painstaking hours working on the watch, the price didn't seem so bad. His price also includes a two-year warranty. A couple of months after repairing the date display, the same problem happened again. I took the watch back to him. Being the upstanding guy that he is, he honored the warranty on the spot. He didn't ask me to produce a receipt. Nor did he question whether I had done anything untoward to the watch. He simply accepted the watch and promised to fix it. read more
