It is a good thing that there is a local place like this to fix and repair watches. After spending countless dollars sending out my Cartier, Rolex and Rado watches for new batteries and maintenance, I came upon this tiny little shop in San Jose. Ever since I spotted it along the grand Stevens Creek Blvd, I have been taking my watches here for mostly battery replacement and a few other maintenance details. Son Nguyen, the owner, does a good job and with great care in handling my expensive watches. I have never had any issues with his service or pricing. Son is a pleasant fellow, smiles often and provides very good customer service. He even spotted the fact that one of my watches was a fake, knock off, even though I already knew it was likely not the real deal when purchased overseas. My first visit to World Time today and couldn't be happier! I brought in two watches today, one for a battery replacement and the other needed a screw(s) tightened on the band. Price was good and service top-notch! They were courteous and prompt. He also gave me cautions...okay for daily wear, but no swimming (gaskets need replaced). I really appreciate the honest service! Took my watch in to fix the calendar that wasn't advancing. I originally took it to a jewelry store in San Carlos who "fixed" it for $50. It wasn't really fixed (bastards!). I was then told of this infamous place. So I come to World Time, and $10 -and 10 minutes later - it was fixed. Probably the best place to have your watch/clock fixed, ever. Bring cash. read more

Rarely do you see a business run like a Swiss watch, no pun intended here, but this place is run just like one. Superbly neat, dust free to the nth degree. The owner appears quite knowledgeable. The repair facilities seem equipped almost to the extreme with high tech eqpt and fancy glassware. I appreciated his organization and attention to detail. Changed my watch battery in 5 min, pressure tested, cleaned it all up carefully, set date/time, all for $15. DEAL. I'm not sure how to rate this place, I'll have to visit again, I brought several watches in for batteries, but seems to range $10-15 each, based on brand of watch.(why?). I usually go to the watch repair on Story road ($5), but I was in the area. They claim to use better quality batteries. That was amusing to me... if you're using Everready or Duracell, they're pretty much the same. The men were pleasant though. read more

I looked at my watch before going to bed and it said 3:00...hmmm can't be that late! So the battery died after more than 4 years with the original battery that came with the watch. A search on Yelp yielded World Time so I trekked over there after work since they stayed open until 7pm. Dropped my watch off and was told it would take 10 mins. Went to the restroom and then to car for my ereader to read while I waited. While the ereader is booting up, he comes out and says it's done, watch was set and ready to go. That's like 5 mins. The cost of $15 to replace a watch battery is higher than average (resulting in a minus 1 star) but the place is clean and the watch repair room looks professional. Hopefully, I won't have to be back for another 3 years with a trouble free watch. read more

I took my new TAG Heuer Grand Carrera Calibre 6 to have them resize the silver bracelet last Wednesday and only paid $10. After wearing the watch a few days, it felt too tight on my wrist. So I went back on Monday and the same guy was there. It took him two adjustments adding links and then it was just right. I offered to pay $10 again, but he said no charge. Great service! This place was fantastic! Son was very nice and greeted me when I came in. He was clearly working on a very expensive clock, but stopped to come out to see what I needed. My fiance's watch had run out of batteries so I needed a quick replacement. It was a clasp Fossil watch. He said it would be 10 minutes. Roughly three minutes later, he came out, said it would cost $10 and that was that! He even set the time, date and put it in a plastic watch bag for me. I was worried that such a great watch repair place wasn't getting a lot of business, as it was empty when I went in at 3pm on a Saturday, but noticed his box of "open orders" and it was quite full. I hope this guy is here to stay. Advice on getting there: when you're driving up Stevens Creek from San Carlos, make the U-turn right before the Wachovia building, NOT after where people turn into Santana Row at the Crate and Barrel. I came in to get the battery replaced on my gucci watch and he was able to get me in and out in less than 10 mins and charged me 15 bucks. Highly recommend! They are quick, efficient, friendly and honest. I brought my (very dead) car key remotes to them for battery replacement. The younger of the two gentlemen changed both in a matter of minutes and, when one of them still didn't work, spent a long time troubleshooting with me and the car and triple checking the battery placement. He provided some excellent tips on tire pressure and car maintenance, and eventually ended up refunding the cost for the remote that didn't work (even though it seems likely to be a problem with the remote and not the battery). Really appreciate the level of service! While helping me, they also managed to get two other customers in and out the door in under five minutes each. Will definitely be coming back for all my battery replacement needs! read more

I met the owner who greeted me as soon as I arrived. He took the time to carefully examine my watch and offered me, what I thought was a very honest opinion. I had a very expensive Tag Heuer that I accidentally dropped a few times and it was not keeping time. He confirmed the problem and told me Tag put too much oil in the match. He offered to fix it but also told me that the crown was damaged and he cannot order the part. He told me he can put in a fix, no one will see it, but it may break down the road. In his words, my Crown is 95% worn out (I guess from my adjusting the time as it was constantly slow), his fix will take care 50% of the Crown issue and my watch will keep time but the Crown may break in the future. I was shocked at his honesty! He even went on to tell me that no other shop in San Jose can order the Crown. So not only was he honest, he saved me time. To top it off, he spent a total of about 40 min with me and with my watch and charged me NOTHING. Needless to say, I will be bringing my future business to this honest shop! read more

I took my newly acquired 1970 Bulova Snorkel Ref 774 Swiss Automatic diver to have it serviced and repaired . It ran ( sort of )but the date wheel would move on its own , and the lume was missing out of the minute hand . They quoted me $350 and 20 to relume . I did not request pressure check or polish as I had lightly polished it already and would not use a 50 year old watch as a dive watch : I have SEIKO's for that . I was not disappointed: I got a picture of the watch apart , and a watch back that runs perfect and clean dial and great relume job which matches the hour hand very well with a 3 year service warranty . That watch is selling for $1000 to ( the asking price ) of $3000 and is one of the harder Reference / case numbers to find. I was afraid they would not want to repair it as it is not a Rolex or a Panerai but they took the job with no hesitation. I would absolutely recommend them . Thanks Gentlemen ! read more

I cannot really give a full blown review as I have done very minor things, like changing the battery and resizing. That's like reviewing a car mechanic for oil changes! But I have been here 4 times for the aforementioned this (mostly on my TAG) and these guys are amazing. There is a difference between doing something well and doing something well with the right attitude is...*drumroll* the attitude. (10 points to Gryffindor!). You walk in, tell them what to do, they do it with a smile and you walk out with a smile. Simple, eh? They also do remember when you last came in as they maintain a log. Just had my 16710 serviced here. He provides a warranty one year longer than Rolex or any manufacturer for that matter 4 stars due to the turn around time. It's quite slow compared to other Watch makers that I've been to. Great local service. I took in my Rolex Oyster Perpetual in the regular service. Price is a lot cheaper than RSC. Even though it is most likely more expensive than online services, I appreciate the personal service. Work was done on time and they did a wonderful job. World time is fantastic. They do beautiful​ work and charge a very reasonable​ fee. One interesting​ thing about world time is that unlike many other watchmakers they are open to modifications. For example,​ I bought a Double domed sapphire​crystal​l to modify my scratched​ Seiko turtle and they were more than happy to install and pressure test for me for an insanely​ reasonable​ rate (literally 1/4 the cost of anyone else). Also,​ I've sent several friends here with nothing but positive​ reviews. Finally,​ I recently had to have a Panerai de-magnetized​​ and they wouldn't let me pay which was very nice of them. I needed a band replacement for my Gucci watch. After reading prior reviews, I decided to go to World Time. I arrived at 6:50. I was immediately impressed with the professionalism of the repairman. Our wall clock with a pendulum stopped working so I yelped "watch repair" and this is what i got. 5 stars made it a no brainer for me to drive myself over here even though there were two fistful of watch repair shops closer. Anyway, they met my expectations. As soon as I walked in, they dropped what they were working on to help me. On the spot customer service and repair made it easy and convenient for me (i didn't have to come back later like macy's or other watch repairs tell us to do). He was able to fix it, walk me through the problems and gave me tips on how to fix it and avoid problems in the future. It took about 15 minutes. Friendly and fast service without any lack of quality! They allowed me to bring my dog, to sit and wait - and that deserves another 5 stars...but I'll settle! They accurately quoted the replacement battery (for my watch) to be about a 5-10 minute service. I got to sit in a comfy chair, watching the news and it smelled really good in the store! Had my watch back in 6 minutes, battery replaced, time and date updated and quickly paid so I was outta there in no more than 10 minutes. The storefront is part of a small block of stores and can be a little tough to catch when driving on the opposite side of the road. I went at the end of the day, plenty of parking out front, but I chose a shady spot on a residential street a block away. So parking isn't a nightmare! I've been here twice - once to replace a battery (a long time ago) and today for an adjustment (removal of links) from my new watch I just got recently. Walked in at 6:30 and all 3 guys were heads down working hard. But they greeted me with a smile nonetheless. Told them what i needed. The oldest gentlemen came out and took the watch, looked at my hand, and said "Ok". I asked him if he needed me to try it on so he can see how many links to take off. He just smiled and said "No", then went back and worked on it for 5 minutes. Got it back and it fit damn perfectly. Amazing. Cost $10. Doesn't get much better than this. The only reason i left a star off was that while working on it, he left some grease on multiple parts of my watch. I'd read that they're usually careful about this, but not in my case.
