The Worldmark at Victoria was centrally located and an easy walk to most things. The bus line is easily accessible and close by. A group can easily get around without having a rental car from this location. On the outside, the building looked pretty plain. However, the inside was nice. The unit we were in was definitely refurbished and was very pleasing to the eye. Everything worked in the unit. The unit was clean and well stocked. The staff was extremely pleasant. All and all, a great place to stay. Sounds like a five star review but I cannot give any place I stay at 5 stars when the price does not include free internet. So, 9.95 a day or 49.95 for a stay. read more

Lovely property and very friendly people work here and they are super helpful. I love the location - you're right near the water taxis and the fisherman's village and it's next door to a stop on the hop on hop off bus. You can walk here from the ferry or the cruise port. It's in a quiet area and it's very beautiful- loved the views. Il Covo is a good restaurant across the street and the Blue Crab is next door and pricey but very good. read more

I like coming back to this place every chance that I get. It's close to many attractions that I want to do and within walking distance too. I walked from the Victoria Clipper docking area here. I also walked to The Fairmont Empress for afternoon tea and the Pendry tea bed and breakfast. You can catch a Water Taxi next door. This place is also within walking distance to the Fisherman Wharf. It's like a five minute walk from the resort. This resort has a gym, heated swimming pool, Jacuzzi, parking garage and a barbeque grill on the suite deck. The place was clean, well maintained and the bed was very comfortable. It's too large for the two of us, but they didn't do anything smaller at the time of booking. read more

First time visiting Victoria Worldmark and was very happy with our stay. Staff was really helpful, the 2 bedroom unit was really clean and has all the amenities to cook of you choose. This unit can sleep 6 easily. We were on the first floor with am amazing view of water, float planes, house boats and people walking by. The most excellent part was a private hot tub. The location is just 5 minute walk to the Parliament building and another 10 to the hustling downtown core. Another great thing about the location is it is close to the Fisherman's Wharf which has great food. The gym was open and machines worked well, clean with wipes and sprays to ensure safety. A completely ruined Mother's Day trip. Thanks to the complete lack of customer service, empathy, and situational awareness, the staff of this WorldMark location have failed. Led by Travis Sedley, the General Manager, our experience was so poor that was were forced to book a room elsewhere and leave the timeshare resort. We booked a 2 bedroom penthouse for a few days to explore the area for Mother's Day. When we arrived we were told our room was not ready and that it would take 3 hours or less. The staff pointed us to a waiting area to where we could utilize the WiFi and hang out. As time passed we did not engage much with the staff and patiently waited out the time. Upon reaching our 3 hour completion time we requested a status update to our room, to which we were told by the GM "your room isn't ready. Check-in time is 4PM". We informed him that we had already spoken to another associate and they stated we needed to wait for 3 hours, which we had, and now he was moving the goal post. So we asked when there would be a room available and he stated he didn't have an answer at that moment. Obviously this did not feel welcoming. So after another hour of time we were told a room was available. We had been assigned a 1st floor walk up room. This was all that they could give us, in spite of our reservation and being OWERS in the WorldMark system. The GM stated "my other owners book months in advance; you booked last minute". Our reservation was for a 2 bedroom penthouse stay and instead we were getting a ground level room with a view of the street. We informed Travis that this was not an acceptable solution to the situation. As women traveling alone in a different country it was not safe for us to stay on a first floor room with the entry door facing the lowest level. It would not make sense to place us there and we would like a more secure location for our room. The response from the GM was the final straw to this situation: "We are sold out and do not have any other rooms to give you. A penthouse is 2 bed rooms and means it has a view. The only room we have that qualifies for that is the one we are offering. There is nothing else we can do for you, as we are sold out". As owners in the WorldMark network since 1990, this was the WORST experience we have had in our 34 years. Never have we been turned away from a property or not even offered an alternative solution to a presented problem. This was a complete failure of the WorldMark leadership and a terrible example being set for other employees at this property. This is a location we will never return to nor recommend to any person we know. We travel monthly at this point within our ownership and truly are disappointed with this experience. I booked a two nights stay at Worldmark Victoria via Extra Holidays which is the booking site for this hotel. My reservation was for two bedroom and made two weeks before our trip date. I used a 20% promo code which I got from being part of the Extra Holidays Insiders program. On the day of my stay, at 12 pm, my reservation was unexpected cancelled due to "overbooking". I was en route to Victoria with my family and could not get to the message until 5pm. I asked them why this issue happened and so late esp when I am already traveling to this hotel, they said it's "system error" and they typically don't get to the reservation with "human intervention" until 24 hours prior. They further explained this is a timeshare resort and owners can book two months in advance. We don't appreciate the fact that they told us of this issue so late (4 hours before our scheduled check in), they blame on system, and further they noted this does not happen frequently. When I searched other Yelp reviews of Extra Holiday, the same issue noted of what we experienced thus this company is a 1 star rated. I went into Worldmark Victoria to find out what really happened, the response they gave was this was out of their control, system issue, and they seem to be very well aware of such because it happened frequently. They also confirmed Extra Holidays is their booking site which tells me anyone who makes reservation will take the risk of their reservation getting cancelled at the very very last minute, which was what happened to us. No indication of issue resolution or troubleshooting was given to fix the last minute reservation cancel issue. We won't be trying to book stay at this hotel anytime soon until this type of reservation issue has been resolved. read more

We came here on a family vacation in late August there were about eight of us over two rooms and very nice accommodations. We were in the "less desirable rooms" which we found to be quite nice. I guess there were deemed less desirable because of the float plane traffic and noise but I found that to be part of the experience. If I lived here I would probably tire of the noise but for a week I thought it was just fine. Our room had a full kitchen, washer/dryer, basically the works. So, some nights we barbequed on the back balcony and dined in. That is a really nice feature when you are out and about all day. This property was outfitted with a pool, hot tub, and even a small kiddie pool. The pool was a lap pool which was great for that as the deepest point in the middle was approximately 4ft or 1.22 meters. The hot tub was a favorite long and narrow it had a great view of the harbor or harbour depending on your preference. Great for in the morning. Afternoon and evening had too much kiddie factor for me. Your results may vary. All in all a good location and great for getting around a water taxi stop was nearby and we were able to use that to get to various touristy locations. Highly recommend. read more

We came here on our honeymoon the day after our wedding. We were looking for a romantic easy getaway and boy did we come to the right place! Victoria is such a cute quaint little town. So much beauty with all the flowers, waterfront views, and very nice people. I couldn't have imagined a more romantic honeymoon. The staff here is SOOO friendly. I called the week before hoping to upgrade, letting them know it was our honeymoon, but there were no openings. When we arrived they remembered and congratulated us! They were so sweet, gave us coupons for local stores, and even hooked it up with the wifi as a gift :) When we entered our room, it was just a 2br room, not the penthouse, but we were still blown away! It is huge with really nice furniture, and tons of floor to ceiling windows! The view was spectacular! Waterfront and you can still see fishermans warf. They even wrote us a cute card with a chocolate bar for our honeymoon. So thoughtful! Fishermans warf next door has delicious foods which they give you coupons for at the front desk. You can take a water taxi into downtown but we really enjoyed the short 10 minute walk there. We arrived by the Seattle - Victoria Clipper ferry and the pier is short 5 minute or less walk to the resort. We were soooo happy with our stay here and will most definitely be back! read more

We came for hubs birthday with some friends who are members. I was very impressed with the rooms. This place is perfect for a single day trip or extended stays. We had a two bedroom-the spare with twin beds, and a murphy bed in the living room. I would have liked a room with a double or queen bed in the spare room. Great modern rooms that are very clean, ours offered a nice partial view of the marina. Water taxi is right next to this location with Fisherman's Warf right by. I liked the neighborhood feel, If I was staying for longer this would have made a great place for morning walks. A path on the water front, strolling through the warf, or walking through the neighborhood, there are lots of options. We were lucky to catch a warm weekend in May which made the walk into town a breeze. It was about ten minutes to get to the empress at a decent pace. If it was rainy I may have preferred to stay closer in town but the clean bed and nicely renovated room may sway me back to the Worldmark. Our room had a partial view so we watched sea planes land and take off. I didn't mind the noise but some mid day nappers may be annoyed with that. Guest services let us drop our bags after the ferry so we could catch our tour bus, since it was too early to check in. Surprisingly our room was ready so they actually delivered our bags for us while we went to Butchart. Coffee in the lobby was great and made it easy to stay warm on our walk into town for dinner late that night. The only way this would be a five star is if they had more on site amenities, better wifi, and an indoor pool. Overall a fantastic place to stay. We will be back. read more

My parents are Wyndham owners so we were here on timeshare during January. I really loved being able to walk to downtown. The rooms are beautiful and well decorated, comfortable beds, well equipped kitchens. The pool was heated year round and the hot tub was hot (but not hot enough if you ask me). The views were beautiful from our room, although I could tell that some rooms had MUCH BETTER views than ours. The walk to downtown is a little longer than some of the reviews let on (especially when it was winter and so cold out). The hotel is very close to both the black ball ferry and the clipper however which would be very convenient. I wish that wifi was free for any guest (not just Worldmark owners). I also wish they had shampoo and conditioner provided. However, if those are my only complaints, I think it's pretty darn great! Highly recommend. read more

Very spacious condo. Centrally located by waterfront. Everything is walking distance including parliament buildings, fisherman's wharf, Empress Hotel and all main attractions. Fitness center has good equipment. Has small balcony with BBQ. Some electronics are modern and others are dated. Interior design is contemporary. Suite is clean but I would have preferred an additional floor cleaning. Seaplanes are a little loud in the morning and so are the ferried to Seattle. As long as you wake up before 9:30 am you're ok. Staff were pleasant and I always found everything I needed and wanted to feel at home (except for slippers). read more

Wonderful experience. Very friendly staff, they gave us a rundown of the beautiful city and how to get around. The entire grounds and condo were super clean. Our 2 bedroom condo is comfy, clean and adorable with modern decor. The last night we had a 2 bedroom suite with a hot tub, just awesome! We stayed here on an overnight from the states. The room was nice, and there was lots of space in the room. There were 3 different pools, and they were well maintained and well lit in the evening. The location is nice as well. Right in the harbor, near the ferry and downtown. We walked everywhere. The only downside was the cost, and the front desk staff was somewhat unhelpful. While the unit we shared sleeps six they only provide parking for one car, there are no extra or floating bays for guests. The units have no AC and are poorly ventilated -- don't be fooled, Victoria gets hot in the Summer. The second bedroom has zero ventilation, other than the door. Solid glass bricks make for a "window." Cross ventilation in the unit is achieved only by leaving both the patio and front doors open -- the latter facing the elevator doors, so no privacy nor security doing that. Strangers can walk off the streets right up to your door without needing a card key! The dishwasher is recessed so that you cannot grip the handle to open it without using the tips of your fingernails to pry it open. I spoke to maintenance, they know about the dishwasher problem but won't be fixing it and say that fire regulations prevent the second bedroom from having windows that open. Really? Where I come from, rooms in which people sleep need two exits in case of fire! Otherwise the building in fresh, well maintained and the location is excellent. WiFi sucks, even though it costs more. read more

This was our first time in Victoria, and the city turned out to be even prettier than I imagined it to be. So, about the Worldmark. It's a timeshare, and we're "owners"/members. We booked this a year ago, so I hoped it would give us a great location. It did. The outside of the building doesn't do justice to the interior. Our room faced the Inner Harbor. The first impression was, "lovely"! There has been a recent remodel. No cheesy plastic flowers (like other properties). Everything looked new-- the carpeting, furniture, soothing hues of soft greens and neutrals. The decor looked very contemporary and IKEA-ish. Check in went smoothly, but the warmth from the staff wasn't as friendly as other properties where we stayed. I was really surprised at that. The front office staff wasn't as warm and welcoming as we've experienced at other WM properties. They weren't rude...but getting information from them was almost like pulling teeth. I'd ask for a recommendation, and was mostly pointed to some binders... i.e. "there are menus over there". Ooooookay... but I'm open to recommendations! That was a little disappointing, hence only four stars total. Location, location, location. The property is literally a stone's throw to Fisherman's Wharf. Since we live on the Central Coast of California, I've been to several Fisherman's Wharfs... this one is teeny tiny. If you love fried food, then this is the place for you. I was famished, so we grabbed some Fish 'N Chips, and watched the water taxis come in and out. We decided to walk to downtown Victoria (about 1/2 mile), but I couldn't make it. I've had recent knee surgery and still need a cane. So, we grabbed a taxi ($6.00) and explored the downtown area. Victoria is a very European feeling city, clean and there is so much to see and do. Here's a tip: The Greyline Hop on/Hop Off... the buses look fun from the outside. But prepared that the interior is kinda dirty and old. To sit on the upper deck means to get there early. Because of my bum knee, I sat below and still had a fairly good view. We took the full tour (90 minutes) which helped us to get the lay of the land. Duh. The Greyline bus stops right by the Worldmark! We made a mental note. I'm really glad that we got the two-day tour ticket which included one full day of riding the water taxi. We paid $6.00, each for a second day of water taxi rides Do it!!! Riding the water taxis was the most fun for me. You walk outside the Worldmark and there is the taxi pickup place. The operators are most friendly, and the wait time is very short. We were able to see beautiful views, and to navigate all around. Improvements: It was unseasonably warm, and our room got really hot. Why would Worldmark put ceiling fans in the spare room, but not in the master bedroom? The balcony is very narrow, so there is only so much room. Still, it's a lovely view to watch ferries, boats and yachts go by. The seaplanes are a bit noisy, but they quit by late afternoon-- and they are fun to watch. The hot tub temperature was extremely hot...to the point that I felt like I needed to slather on tartar sauce. We weren't the only ones who couldn't take the heat-- several of our fellow guests remarked that the water was way too hot. When I mentioned it to the front desk staff, he gave me a sarcastic look and said "that's why it's called a hot tub... it's just the way it's supposed to be". I will guess that the temperature felt more like 104 degrees... we couldn't stay in for long. The view, however, is beautiful. Groceries, if you don't have a car (which we didn't) is about a five minute walk. We didn't cook in the room, though, opting to enjoy the many restaurants. One day, I hope to come back. But, I'd like to have a car so we can better explore the island-- which is HUGE! We flew out on a seaplane to Vancouver, and so far, this is the highlight of our trip. I hope that more Worldmark properties will have a makeover. We're currently staying at the Vancouver property, which has lovely views...but needs a little sprucing up. read more

Stayed in several WorldMarks as my husbands parents own points. This is by far the worst. We were told our unit was sprayed with a heavy deodorizer for "reasons" - presumably the previous guests had smoked. The smell of the noxious gas they sprayed burnt my nostrils and gave me the worst headache even after 4 hours with the sliding door and all windows open. We were told it should have subsided in 30 minutes or less. It was so bad I had to ask to change rooms. They were more than accommodating so that's a plus. The strangest balcony I have ever seen. About two feet wide, varied in width from one end to the other and not wide enough to fit the chairs they have stacked. We literally had to hand each other chairs over the railing around the glass pane (not sure what purpose this has) and then rotate in the air before lowering onto the deck to sit. So so strange. Also the noise from the street is awful. We had all windows closed and the roar of engines all night long...strange. I think next time we will forgo the free trip booked on points with the inlaws and just pay to stay elsewhere. Best part about this place is the Italian restaurant across the street. Yum! read more

The Worldmark facility is really nice. I don't believe there's a bad view from any of the units. The unit which my wife and I were assigned was clean, bright and comfortable with one major exception......THE BED The beds (we had a two bedroom unit) are ABYSMAL!!!! We had booked the Worldmark facility for 9 days, but our back's could only manage 4 nights total. The upside to the horrendous quality of the beds at Worldmark is, we left the facility and went to Whistler BC for two nights (the Westin Hotel in Whistler BC is truly outstanding). When we returned from Whistler, we spoke with the Worldmark staff, about the beds, the Worldmark staff are truly understanding and professional, but the bed situation was facility wide (and the beds are less than a year old), and the facility was booked solid. So we decided to check out early and spend the rest of our vacation in Seattle. The facility is nice, just don't count on a good night's sleep. read more

This timeshare complex is located next to Fisherman's Wharf and along the harbor walk with easy access to the waterfront and downtown (depending on how far you go, it can be quite a walk). The units are nicely appointed but smaller than typical Worldmark units. We stayed in a 2 bedroom unit. In our unit there were no windows in the second bedroom (just glass block for light) - in certain locations in the US, it would not meet building code - and it served to trap smells in that room). Our's (3107) had a nice view of the busy harbor and some noise would be expected from the many pontoon planes taking off as early as 7 am and the Port Angeles Ferry arriving as early as 9:30 am. What was unexpected was that complex staff start rummaging around early in the morning and their carts' wheels rapidly rolling on the concrete walkways are very noisy (they should get quieter wheels or slow down). The countertops were granite which seemed better than typical Worldmark Formica. There are no screens on the patio doors although they might have been helpful since we did have incoming flying intruders periodically in our third floor unit, and in the summer, open doors are a necessity, particularly since there is no air-conditioning. The sunrise facing rooms got very hot in the morning although they cooled as the day wore on if the doors were left open. Even with light blocking shades in the bedroom, mornings were very bright well before 7am (Worldmark should replace them with longer ones). The livingroom had vertical blinds, so they were not room darkening. Because of limited space on the balconies, the bbq was difficult to use, although having one available was better than none. Regarding decor, to make the unit seem bigger, there was a large wall mirror next to the dining room which could be better located (like on the opposite wall). Where it is, from either bedroom, the mirror reflected the entrance to the other bedroom meaning that doors had to be closed if privacy is desired. Also, the master bathroom had a good view of the living room from the commode and vice versa. There was not the typical Worldmark - get the parking permit from the fake concierge who would try to force a timeshare presentation - was very refreshing. This is one of very few resorts where you check in without being subject to high pressure sales and "concierges" who are not interested in providing any service if a sales session is declined. Unfortunately, the front desk staff is not real knowledgeable either. We overheard another visitor inquiring about Butchart Gardens, one of the more popular attractions in the area, and the front staff has not to familiar, admitting that she had not visited in many years. Our toaster was not functioning well (the filaments were twisted causing some glowing areas and the smell of burning) but with a call to the front desk, was replaced in under an hour and the toaster was replaced with a new one (which smelled like plastic on first use). Because Victoria is a great place to visit and most people friendly, with a nice view of the harbor (or Fisherman's Wharf), we plan to go back. Now, if only we could fine some authentic ethnic food in the city rather than the touristy bland stuff we encountered, that would really enhance future visits. read more

The rooms are very nice and spacious. Very close to the port if you're coming from a Washington ferry. Only complaint is the wifi situation: you have to pay $16 for 10 days for 2 devices. Being a cheap family of five, we called the front desk and were able to bargain it to $16 for 5 devices, which was very kind of them. Still was a bit of a hassle. Overall a very nice place to stay while in Victoria. read more
