I came looking for character shoes for a theatre cabaret I am dancing in. I came to try on a specific size of a Bloch shoe. The shoes kept feeling too large so I asked for smaller sizes. Kimber was incredibly helpful. She got me all the sizes I asked for. The shoe still didn't feel right so I asked if the store had any other black character shoes or shoes that looked like character shoes. She brought so many boxes. She was so helpful. I went with a totally different brand that I had not seen at other dance stores, because they were one of the non theatre shoes that Kimber brought out. I feel much better than when I went in. Short version -- Fabulous customer service and very knowledgeable sales associates. Longer version--I'm a beginner ballroom dancer and have not been able to find a pair of practice shoes that fit. I bought and returned 7 pairs from Amazon and another online dance shoe store. I bought one pair from another local store that did not fit quite right and had other features I ended up not liking. I didn't know enough about dance shoes at the time to realize the problems. Then I went to Worldtone. The sales associate took one look at my feet and immediately knew that most of the shoes would be too wide for my feet and zeroed in one one pair that met my needs and were narrow enough. I tried them on and needed a half size larger, which were on back order and would be in stock in a couple of weeks. They called me when they came in and said they could hold them for a week and I planned to pick them up 5 days later. On the day I was to pick them up I was sick and could not go as planned. I called and told them I was not well but didn't want to lose the shoes ( they are one of the more popular shoes) and gave them my credit card to buy them. Purchasing them would have meant a possible restocking fee if they didn't fit. Shortly after I " bought" the shoes they texted me back and said did they not run the card and would hold them another week. I was just blown away. How many stores these days have that level of empathy for their customers. Bottom line. If you need dance shoes go there. Just check if they are open beforehand. Their hours are a bit atypical for a retail store. read more

I bought a pair of Salsa shoes yesterday, and realized today I had to spent too much money and had to return them. I had asked about return policy day prior, and knew there would be a stocking fee. Shoes had not been worn. The woman with short blonde hair who opened door, was rude and unprofessional. She asked why I was returning shoes, in an angry tone and then as she asked another employee to assist me, and headed to the back of the store, said out loud, "I am changing our return policy. See this is what I am talking about". I can only assume she meant for me to hear comment. I had never been treated this way before when making a return. I would not return due to service. read more

I've bought a couple pairs of salsa heels here and have found that their customer service is beyond excellent. Last time I was there, they were so, so helpful and patiently brought out more than a half-dozen different pairs of shoes as I tried them on and we checked out the fit of each and what was/wasn't working. They're very knowledgeable and had an incredible stock of shoes. I was indecisive and took forever and they were patient and helped me stay within my price range. I send all of my students here and the staff is always very helpful. They don't mind bringing out as many shoes as it takes. It's been almost a year since my wedding, and I owe Lani and WorldTone Dance a long-overdue review! Yes, I am reviewing a dance shoe store because of my wedding! I work in theatre/dance on the production side, and did research ahead of time, and realized that for a girl who lives in work boots to survive a wedding, I needed COMFORTABLE SHOES, and that dance shoes were actually the best bet! So I gave WorldTone a try. It's a little intimidating, at first, walking into a dance shoe store, not knowing exactly what I wanted. At first, I worked with one of the salesgirls, and I tried on well over a dozen shoes, and they were all comfortable, but none of them wow'd me. Lani, the owner, was there, in the background, but I didn't know she was the owner. After listening to my conversation with the salesgirl, though, she came over and offered her help. You see, they had this GORGEOUS pair of teal colored shoes that I was in love with, but that was the only pair of that color in the whole store, and the problem was that with a 3" heel, I was going to be a) uncomfortable all day, b) knowing my clumsiness, I would probably fall over at some point, and c) I was going to be taller than my husband at our wedding. Not ok. But the rest of the shoes were black or tan or white--all ok and comfortable, but definitely not the stunner that those teal shoes were. After overhearing all of this, Lani came over, and started talking about the idea of custom shoes. I thought that this route would end in a bill much higher than I could afford, but after talking through the options with Lani, it ended up being not much more than a pair of dance shoes off the rack, and still FAR LESS than "wedding shoes" featured on all the blogs. The trick was, that color leather I loved wasn't made by any of the local shoe manufacturers. Thus began a several months' process of Lani attempting to find that color. She eventually got it from SOUTH AMERICA! (And she walked me through the entire shoe design process...what parts of the shoe would be teal, what parts would be silver, how would the heel be shaped?, how would the straps wrap around the foot and/or ankle). The epic story of my shoes is one of my favorites of the whole wedding planning process! To address other reviews that say Lani is curt..That lady's got stuff going on! She's designing and creating and making things happen for her customers. Wow, did she make magic for me! She's an artist and a non-pretentious business-woman, and she gets stuff DONE! And the icing on the cake, is that when my then-fiancé and I went to pick up these epic teal shoes, he found a great pair of vintage-inspired shoes that HE could wear for the wedding! I love this place! They've got a huge selection of women's/men's ballroom shoes and (surprisingly) even some great discount varieties. I've come in once before, but this previous Sunday I came in to take advantage of their last New Year's sale and I am one happy shopper. The woman who helped me (owner of Mighty!) was very sweet and brought out maybe 10+ pairs of shoes for me to try on. I was looking for a new pair of smooth and rhythm shoes for an upcoming Showcase and she was super sweet about all of the options. She mixed up my heel heights, but was incredibly professional and quick about getting me the right shoes. I tried on some Aida's (which I love love love, and they can be ordered to your size if they don't have them in store to try on) and some Ray Rose's. I'm SO happy! I brought my friends along with me and they had a great time chasing Mighty around (a little Dachshund). There are a few other dancers in my studio that make the long trip from Orange County just to buy shoes from this shop and you'll appreciate why. They've got a great selection, professional workers, and a friendly attitudes to help you pick out the best pair of shoes for you. read more

Lots of DANCE shoes! Great selection of jazz, ballroom, swing, salsa and various competition shoes. Customer service depends on who you get. The girl who was helping me seemed over it. Another girl was training and didn't know too much. There was one knowledgable girl who was really helpful yet seemed over-worked. She was busy helping some lady who was trying on every shoe in the entire store. The slow customer service made me spend 1.5 hours just to try on about 8 shoes. The pair I liked were not in stock, however they were kind enough to place an order from the NY store and waive the shipping fee. There are good brands here - I think DWTS uses them - thus, this place is not very cheap. I was looking to spend a max of $100 and the closest I could find for what I needed was $130. There is a sale wall though... good luck finding your size! Came here looking for swing dance shoes.. and that's EXACTLY what I found! As soon as I entered, I was greeted by one of the ladies working there-- she asked what I was looking for, what styles I was interested in & if I had a price range. I told her my max would be $70 and I picked a style or two off the rack to try on. She came back with 7 pairs of shoes to start-- most of them on sale for $35! WOOHOO~ I've been so used to snooty-snooty sales personnel, but she was very sweet and helpful. I was sniffling due to allergies & the A/C was blazing and freezing me to death... I made a joke about my sniffling to one of the girls and she offered to turn off the A/C! It was amazing. I was completely regretting my not bringing of a jacket and the A/C was turned off for me. :D I wish I got her name! I didn't feel rushed at all. I think I tried on 25+ shoes for a whole 1.5 hours (yes, my boyfriend was glad I went alone!) There's also a wonderful little section of the floor that is a wooden dance floor so you can feel how slippery or how much traction the shoes have-- super important. She also showed me the difference between some dance soles as well. I found the owner (manager?) to be a little callous when she rang me up, but I can overlook that due to the service I got from her employee. Parking is free on their lot. I bought two pairs of high end Latin dance heels here...one pair of Ray Rose, which aren't the best fit for my foot but are decent...and one pair of Aidas that ended up not working out at all because the right shoe fits much tighter than the left shoe. I have four other pairs of Aidas, that I bought online through Aida in Russia or their U.S. office, and all of them fit very well. But the pair I bought here does not fit (just one of the shoes doesn't fit), even after I tried various ways of trying to stretch the one shoe out that my coaches suggested. That's pretty lame for a $200 pair of shoes. Would NOT recommending buying the Aidas from this store. Very disappointed. read more

I am so happy I found this place! They had a great selection, staff was very knowledgeable about their shoes, and they were very responsive to my feedback. I can't wait to go to my dance classes with these babies! I don't know enough about prices to rate the price of their stock; the shoes I tried on didn't have tags on them, and it was only when I was deciding between the two pairs that fit that I learned the price of each, which was more than $100 difference! So it seems the shoes vary greatly in price, which I actually appreciated as a beginner who is not ready to buy multiple pairs of $100+ dance shoes. I walked out with the cheaper pair of the two and am very happy with the price ($60). FYI - They have a small parking lot on the north side of the store, in case you have a hard time finding street parking. read more

I came in to buy some swing shoes and the place exceeded my expectation! First, there was large selection of male swing shoes to choose from, from suede to leather, with all different types of looks. I was able to try a few and test them out on the "ballroom floor" (a small area in the dance store) to figure out which one i liked best. The girl that worked at the shoe store, Sivan, was very helpful. She answered every question i had, attended all my shoe needs, and even played the type of music I swing too while i was trying out the shoes in the ballroom area. Bought Italian dance shoes here that made my feet bleed after 2hrs of wear. Worldtone wouldn't take them back but offered discount on the next pair instead. The manufacturer never got back to me so basically just wasted a few hundred bucks. The pain both physical and emotional was real. Every time I bent my foot I felt like screaming. I was looking for beginner salsa shoes and my friend, who's a professional ballroom dancer, recommended WorldTone Dance. We came here on a Friday eve and the place was empty. Lots of shoes to choose from; most are in the $150-200 price range. I wasn't going to spend that much on my first pair of shoes, so headed straight to their sales rack... I managed to find a pair in my size that I liked for $80, but the selection wasn't great. I've yet to try dancing in them, but they feel comfy and I'm sure will be great beginner shoes. Parking is easy; there is a large lot right next to the store. Service is OK, perhaps the sales person didn't want to intervene since I was there with my friends... but they were prompt to bring out shoes in my size when I asked for it. I bought a new pair of dancing shoes from them, it was little bit tight but they told me that it will stretch through the time. I put on the shoes and danced for half an hour and it started to hurt my feet. I told them that I have danced for half an hour and wanted to change the shoes with a bigger one but they refused to change because it was used. I didn't even denied that I have used the shoes, but the weird thing was their attitude, they were like trying to blame me. I wouldn't mind if they have admit the employee's mistake when it did not stretch enough and talk with me politely. I bought tons of shoes so far from different stores, and some of them changed the shoes even after wearing for 15 months because their prooduct shouldn't get messed. There is a huge difference between these two stores' customer relations. I am a dance performer and don't recommend this place to any of my friends. read more

What a wonderful experience! Found the perfect fitting tango boots for my lifestyle and my dancing feet. The staff could not have been more patient and understanding of my needs. Probably tried twenty pair of shoes. They buckled, laced, and buttoned every pair for this tango-ing grandmother. I looked longingly at three inch and higher heels on the other clients, but needed to go for comfort. If your feet hurt, you can't dance. They made certain every pair fit properly.
