For this trip I picked up the Wow Banh Mi and the Bbq Pork Banh Mi with a side of Pork Paste Spring Roll and a side of soup. It's very rare that I say to myself in excitement that that was a good sandwich and this was it. After eating the BBQ Pork, I was impressed. The bread was a bit crunchy and falling apart, but the contents within was flavorful and on point for a banh mi. 10/10 for this alone. The Wow Banh Mi was ok, the pork skin in the sandwich would be my only turn off. Everything was great. Perfect with the side of soup to moisten the bread. The pork paste roll is basically the texture of a sliced sausage within the spring roll. Maybe more like the texture of spam, but not spam. The sauce served alongside the rolls is what really makes the dish. I got my order to go, so the only interaction I had was placing the order with the waiter and ladies behind the counter and they were nice and very sweet. Overall, I think you should give this place a shot. Defiantly one of the better banh mi placed with reasonable pricing. read more

I stopped by WoW Banh Mi for their lunch special -- you get a classic banh mi and a medium pho, and let me tell you, the pho portion was huge! Definitely worth it for the price. I also grabbed a Vietnamese iced coffee, and after one sip... the caffeine hit immediately It was strong (in the best way), so I had to sip slow. To balance it out, I tried the Kumquat Peach Tea. It was a little sweet for my taste, but once I diluted it with sparkling water at home, it was perfect. I come here to get my banh mi because it's close and relatively cheap. They honor the buy 5, get 1 free deal and so as usual I bought 5 and got 1 for free and got it for about $33. I usually get the dac biet, and that is always a win for me. The cool thing about Wow banh mi is that their sandwich has of course split ingredients for those who are taking the sandwiches to go, but in each box they give you a to go floss along with a wet wipe for your hands! I liked that a lot. I'm not loyal by any means when it comes to banh mi's, but this location is convenient and is a go to since we shop at HK supermarket. We came here to order some banh mis to go. Like most banh mi spots, they offer a buy 5, let 1 free deal. Unlike other places where they place all the banh mis in one plastic bag, they individually pack each banh mi with the veggies on the side (if requested). Also packed are a wet wipe and tooth pick. We got the special (dac biet) and the grilled pork. I think I prefer the grilled pork from other spots, but it was still enjoyable. We will have to come back to try the non banh mi menu items. NEVER, Again I submitted a delivery order 1) The order NEVER arrived. 2) I called the restaurant number for Wow Banh Mi & Pho three (3) times. The rude women who answered hung up on me. 3) Now I have to wait up to 10 days for my refund and my tip will not be returned. 4) Hindi Kita gusto-Bat lau dung laai Putang Talaga Shamutas!!!!!!! The food here is so delicious! They serve a lot of unique dishes here. We ordered the dry beef pho, fried crab rolls and the fresh coconut juice with pandan flavor. I also love the fresh veggies and sauces they have. They have a homemade satay sauce and radish and papaya pickles. All of our food came out at the same time relatively quickly after we ordered. The noodles came with soy sauce and lots of vegetables as well as a side of broth with yolk that we mixed into it. I wish I were in Atlanta longer so I could try more things off their menu. WOW is located in the Hong Kong Supermarket plaza off Jimmy Carter Blvd. Had a chance to stop by last week to try their Lobster Banh Mi ($16). They are currently running a Grand Opening offer - Buy 5 Banh Mi, Get 1 Free (valid until 8/31/23). So we ordered 5 Lobster Banh Mi's. Each banh mi comes in a brown branded skinny box with a branded wet wipes pack and toothpicks (5 stars for the marketing). The take-out presentation for banh mi is very nice and professional. Now, regarding the taste of the Lobster Banh Mi itself, eh it was not for me sadly. The banh mi is packed with lobster, but the sauce used was salty. When you add in all the usual banh mi contents such as the cilantro, picked radish and carrots, I can barely taste the lobster. They also have a crunchy add-in that I can't figure out what it is - maybe fried tofu curd? The crunch was nice, but the sauce and add-ins take away from the lobster taste. I would probably not order this again, and would instead try something new if I ever come back. In terms of value, you do get alot of lobster meat. Service is great! They have both QR code and hard copy menu which is a good thing nowadays. If you plan to do pickup, you can order ahead via their website. Once you're at the restaurant, you can order at your table, at the kiosk, or with the cashier. I had: - Vietnamese Sizzling Steak with Egg and Pâté, serving with a small side of vegetable (not a salad) and baguette. - Shrimp and crab spring roll - Egg drop soup: this is not the Chinese egg drop soup. It's soft-boiled egg, cooked with pho broth. - Sugarcane fresh juice I had a banh mi (Vietnamese sandwich) to-go. They have a very well-packaged to--go box for the banh mi sandwich. The to-go banh mi box also includes picked vegetables wrapped separately on the side, a wet napkin, and a floss toothpick. Overall, the quality is good. The staff is very considerate. After knowing I don't eat green onion, she notes the kitchen to not put onion on all the dishes I ordered without me telling her about that. I will come back to try other items on the menu. Light and airy, the baguette recipe was a compliment to the bite that sank in. Good flavor combination in this shopping center filled with local ownership. WOW is what comes to mind when I think of this place. Their food, service, and prices are what I look for in a restaurant!!! I have dined in once and taken out once and the service was outstanding in both instances. Our server during the dine in service was incredible, personable, helpful, and funny. But every worker that we came across at the restaurant was extremely friendly. I was even offered complimentary water to go, when we went to pick up the Banh Mi's to go! Now, the food. It really makes you say "WOW". The crispy shrimp and crab rolls are authentic rolls, not made out of rice paper like many other restaurants, but made from the authentic Vietnamese recipe. They were sooo crispy, sooo flavorful, and sooo gone in record time! The crawfish fried rice was really tasty also; the rice was a mix of really crispy fried rice and regular style fried rice - I preferred the bites of regular style fried rice but the flavor was fantastic. My only qualm with the Lobster Banh Mi was that I didn't order two of them! There was plenty of lobster stuffed between the most tasty, fresh, and crisp, but not hurt your gums and roof of your mouth crisp, bread. Every bite was a flavor bomb of lobster, jalapeños, cilantro, their butter spread, house sauce, and some pickled vegetables. I love this place and I can't wait to go back! read more

Everything about WOW definitely wowed me! [insert cheesy joke emoji] SERVICE: 10 stars! The customer service here was absolutely over the top. The staff we encountered to place and take a to go order was beyond friendly and happy to have us there. A few examples of how they made the experience great for us: they greeted us warmly, made sure we were comfortable, insisting we sit to wait instead of having to stand, and gave us a to go water without us asking. Service was very quick too! It was less than 10 minutes after we ordered to when we got our food. FOOD: 5 stars The banh mis were incredible. My partner is a big seafood lover so the lobster one caught her eye and I was on board since they have a vegan banh mi (marked vegan on the menu!). Both of us thoroughly enjoyed these sandwiches!! The bread was perfect -- crispy and chewy, but soft enough that there was no risk of that annoying cutting the roof of your mouth! And the fillings were delicious. Bomb sandwiches, basically. The only thing I didn't care for was the kumquat sugar cane juice I gave a try. Now, the juice was well made and tasted homemade. It was sweet, but not overly sweet, which was good. I think I just learned that I didn't care for kumquats, lol. I had never had one, and so I decided to try. I appreciate the juice.. I'm just not a kumquat flavor person. AMBIANCE: 5 stars The packaging they give is so cute (see photos)! It has their branding on it. Additionally, they put the banh mis in boxes, rather than just wrapping in paper, so it feels quality. AND they even give a wet nap and FLOSS PICK in each box! This is next level! Lol. All of it felt like a quality experience from people who appreciate and care about their customers. The space is cute too. Lots of tables and seemed well set up. Plus it had some unique decor, like a faux banh mi market cart. We visited on a Saturday at 6pm and there were only 2 tables with customers. I hope they get more and consistent business, because this place is a winner in all ways and I want them to be successful! Overall the Banh mi was the best I've tried! I really like the classic and the shredded chicken. Don't get the beef, it has too much fat. Flavor was fresh and just the right amount of spice. I like the lunchbox packaging for to go orders. You can order on the clover app, at the counter or the kiosk. The sandwiches are made fresh in front of you, they have an assembly line and they are fast and efficient. On my second visit, I tried their pho. I ordered the seafood noodles. It was tasty with two large prawns, some squid. It was a bit lacking the quail egg or fish balls, but still yummy. After an hour I was hungry again! It's a light calorie meal. Not a wow. We came here for lunch with my nephews. The servers were nice but pretty basic drop off your food and you'll never see them again type of attitude. Decor was modern and clean. We tried a few items - Bun Mam (Việt fermented fish noodle soup): The worst I've ever had. Broth had no flavor. This is similar to gumbo which is rich and hearty and PUNGENT. This was none of that. It was even sweet which I found very odd. - Bun Bo Hue (Spicy beef soup): This one came out brown....it's suppose to have seasoning with aromatics that gives it a very characteristic spicy lemongrass and rich with beef flavor. If I hadn't known what we ordered, I would not have called this BBH. Broth was too sweet too. My nephew even asked why it tasted so off compared to how we make it at home. - Fried rice with fried chicken: The rice itself was good. I liked the crispy bits. The chicken was so crispy that it was dry on the inside and tough. My nephew took one bite of it and couldn't finish it. - WOW bánh mì: I didn't get a chance to try this but my other nephew said it was ok. He says the one at VN Tofu is better so take that what you will. I feel bad for not liking a small local business but I'll have to pass on this one. read more

Love Wow. Their banh mi is incredibly soft, light and crispy (we've had multiple places in ATL). Highly recommend the fried rice. The only thing we wished the owners would tweak is the broken rice with grilled pork (cơm tấm). The pork marinade tastes like candy and not your traditional grilled pork with lemongrass flavor. The bread is soft and a bit chewy, the meat gives the flavor, and the veggies break up the fat from the meat and provide a nice crunch. I think while banh mi and pho are in the name the items I wouldn't sleep on here are the wings. I got the fish sauce wings and this was the surprise of the meal. It smells a bit funky but hits home. My husband ordered us some banh mi to have for dinner. The restaurant itself was well kept and clean. The staff themselves were friendly and nice. Unfortunately they didn't listen right and got one of our orders wrong. He ordered their grilled pork banh mi and instead they gave him grilled beef. He got his with all his vegetables inside and got mine set on the side. I didn't like how they wrapped up the vegetables, once I started unrolling it, all the cucumbers and cilantro fell to the floor. The only thing they actually kept "inside" the bag was the pickled veggies (which weren't flavorful/ pickled enough). And on top of that they barley provided any. They literally just a few strands of the pickled carrots in there. The grilled beef was poorly marinated. It is the most plain banh mi I have ever tasted. It is all about the meat/protein that makes the banh mi work. And it was poorly done to the point where there was no flavor what so ever into the first to last bite. The only reason why I'm giving them 3 starts and not 2 is because I like the concept they have with wrapping up the sandwich. They provide it in a cute box with a wet wipe and floss. I just had the worst customer service I've ever had. I came in by myself, and they have a sign that says "please wait to be seated" and no one says anything to me for a long time. I'm still waiting (standing up), and a fam of 3 comes in and are immediately greeted. Finally, someone says to sit at the table that I'm standing beside like it was convenient for them, but doesn't say anything else. This type of wait has happened to me before in restaurants that are owned and employed by Asians in a heavily populated Asian area, so it's not unusual and I'm not all that upset about it, and I absolutely do not expect to be served in the "customer is always right" way like you would in a more "western" racially & ethnically diverse restaurant, like you would in an average place in ATL. But then I wait ...and wait more, and no one has even acknowledged my existence with even a moment of an eye contact, and there were at least 5-6 employees running FOTH. At this point, I'm observing and I thought that maybe I have to order at the counter first. I walk up there and talk to a server and she doesn't speak english fluently or at all, which is fine, but she doesn't even notify anybody that I'm asking about something. Then *I* caught attention from the guy that sat me down earlier, at the table that was conveniently beside of me when I was standing up, waiting. I told him no one has come up to my table and he assumed I had ordered to go. Okay, fair (i guess...but also, ASK me if you're going to assume that). I order at the counter, and I had to correct her because she automatically typed me in as to-go, which still does not make sense as an assumption because why would I be standing and sitting around that long if I was there for a to-go order?? I sit down at another table. My food comes out fairly fast. As I'm eating, I noticed that they sit people coming in after me down and they all order from their tables. They immediately bring out water for them, which I didn't receive or was asked about. This part, the restaurant has no control over, but two middle aged men sit at the table beside me while I'm eating, and they are less than 5 ft away from me. I catch them just staring at me multiple times. This just adds onto the uncomfortable environment. I'm feeling extremely ostracized the whole time I'm here. It's one thing if the service was just short and brief, and maybe even a little "rude" to everyone, but the way I was transparently ignored over literally every customer (all vietnamese, most likely) there, that was not the case. No, I'm not white. No, I'm not Vietnamese, but yes, I am a POC who is in the Asian community, just not THEIR community, you get my drift? I got the foreigner treatment, but not the white ppl kind. If you've ever experienced this, you know exactly what I mean. I write this review specifically as a warning for others. Anyway, pho was good, but the service was real dumb.
