I've used this dry cleaner for over a year, but I'm done. They shrank a few items, and others came back with a strong chemical odor. I paid for re-cleaning without complaining, but when they pressed my tuxedo shirt and the cufflink holes didn't align, I just asked for a quick re-press. Wow! was my exact reaction when I walked in to pick up my suit that I dropped off to have tailored, not only were the pants too short (looked like I was going to a funeral in a flooded area) but the jacket sleeves were above my wrist, when I took it back to have it fixed I was denied the service because they cut off too much material and couldn't extended it correctly. NEVER EVER TAKE YOUR ALTERATIONS HERE. EVER I brought my two dresses here last week to have small alterations done on them before I go to a wedding. I have brought my dry cleaning here one other time and they did an ok job that's why I even returned. When coming to pick up my dresses it literally took him about 20 minutes to find one of my dresses, he brought out another pink dress that clearly was not mine I told him it was not my dress and he said oh OK one moment he had no idea where my dresses were. I told him that I wanted to try them both on he finally found one of my dresses I tried it on and literally no alterations were done at all it was still hanging off of my shoulders I was so frustrated I was hoping that my next dress wouldn't be so bad. When asking him for my other dress he literally told me it was not ready he then told me I need to pay for my items before I try anything else on?! HE THEN SAID TO ME "I KNEW YOU DIDNT WANT TO PAY FOR THEM!" Are you kidding me I am repulsed he actually said that. This is a very very disgusting establishment and this man does not deserve to be in business he is an absolute scam artist and he takes advantage of people!!! I even came two days after and they still weren't "ready" this guys is a serious joke. He literally would not let me leave the store with my dresses so I had to pay for them and now I'm going to dispute it with the bank. Went to get pants and jacket altered. Was Supposed to be ready on Wednesday. I went in on Wednesday. They could not find my pants. The guy who ran the place said "oh the alterations person isn't here today" I go back on Thursday , once again while he's looking at my ticket he still couldn't find my pants . WOW's dry cleaning skills are SUPERB! I can honestly say from New York to Los Angeles, from Paris to London, WOW is the best dry cleaner I've ever used. My mother's insatiable love of fashion (pre-Iran's Islamic Revolution) and my ability to borrow from her magnificent wardrobe bursting with colorful designer dresses shirts, skirts and suits which she called "works of art" and a few haute couture "masterpieces" fostered my appreciation for high end luxury brands so I am extremely picky when it comes to how my clothes are cleaned! I also like to mix in bargain pieces from thrift shops and even Target or Macy's...which as you know usually because of their poor quality look terrible after one trip to the cleaners! Not with WOW cleaners!! They are truly amazing when it comes to attention to detail and treating close so gently that they never lose their look. But their most impressive quality is their ability to remove any stain off of any type of material without ruining the garment! Unfortunately I have inherited one of my father's less charming characteristics and that is that I always walk into a restaurant immaculately dressed and always leave wearing my dinner ! I can't tell you how many pieces I have given to Philip (the owner) thinking that it's a hopeless case and then a few days later picked it up and was shocked because I couldn't tell where the stain had been!! I guess I should've read the reviews beforehand. I've had same services before and it didn't cost me an arm and a leg. The employee gave me the ticket but didn't tell me a price or had a price written in the ticket. Employee calls the owner named Filip immediately because I'm not happy with the price surge. The owner was telling me to look at my ticket and check the price, checked and nothing written anywhere with any dollar amount. Also, employee calls the customer to ask for what the price is. Came back to pick it up and it's $50 to wash a medium size blanket. Places that expurgo people should be the ones going out of business in rough times, not places that treats and is fair with customer. Yesterday I decided to take my bag of clothes to get tailored. As I drove down Ventura with no exact place to take my clothes, I realized there was a dry cleaners/ tailoring place right by desoto and Ventura that I had seen a million times and decided to park and walk in. When I walked in the sweetest man named Philip greeted me. I then asked if he had time to look at my stuff and see if he can do some alterations for me and before even looking at my giant bag of clothes he agreed and took his time. I spoke to him for a while and I have never met someone so genuinely nice and sweet before. He took his time with me! Moral of this review is, if you need somewhere to take your stuff for dry cleaning or even a Hem, I would go to Philip. He's the best :) read more

Wow is the right word for this place. I have been coming here since the week they opened. The owner is kind and humble. I wear suits every day and have a tremendous amount of clothes I bring in every two weeks. My clothes are ready when promised they do a great job. I have no complaints. I have also used their alteration services. They are far superior and less expensive than the tailors that work at the stores I buy my suits from. AND, they have even done many repairs for me for free for being a loyal customer. I have to mention something about this place that I will never forget. I had moved away for two years and had to use a dry cleaner near where I lived. When I moved back to the area I returned to Wow Cleaners. Upon my return, the owner passionately greeted me and welcomed me back. He told me that I had some clothes that I had left there two years ago. I had totally forgotten. I can't think of another cleaner that would hold on to a customer's clothes for two years, but he did! It was not just a few shirts, but about 6 suits that I had paid about $1000 each for. What a great surprise. I saw some of the negative reviews about this place and cannot fathom how any of them are true. More likely I suspect they are false reviews from competitors. Now, I live about 10 miles from Wow Cleaners, and have many other options that are closer to my house. Despite that I will ONLY go to Wow Cleaners. read more

There's a degree of conflict here, because I WANT to like these folks and I WANT to give them my business/money, as they are located literally down the street from where I live. However, as of now, leaving even a 1 star rating seems to generous. Here's my two experiences. I saw their various advertising signs outside, which read $1.75/shirt, 50% off new customers for cleaning, and $7.95 pants hem special. Thinking this would be a great deal, I brought in a shirt for cleaning, and a few pants to have hemmed. This was a Thursday. So, I assumed I'd be paying roughly a dollar for the shirt ($1.75 + 50% off new customer deal), and roughly $25 for the pants ($7.95 x 3). Wow Cleaners proved to me just how stupid such assumptions can be! Thursday evening, I go to pick up the shirt. I was charged $3.75 for the shirt, with no 50% off mentioned, because it was a "tuxedo" shirt, as in, it had french cuffs. I was blown away that such a feature would literally more than double the cost. His justification was that it was a rush order, though he made zero mention of this when I dropped the shirt off. Sunday afternoon, I go in to get my pants, which were actually quite well done, and was charged $37.50! Now, these are NOT exorbitant prices ($12.75 per pant), but when I am led to believe it will be less than $25, it's quite problematic. His justification this time was that there was an up charge because the tailor did the alterations by hands, rather than machine. This, like the rush charge on the shirt, was not mentioned when I dropped off. So, while I was not unimpressed with the quality of work done, I can't help but feel that I was swindled and taken advantage of. This is a place that most certainly will not be receiving my business again, barring changes in their deceptive policies. read more

I brought one shirt in, that's it; the guy couldn't make me happy with only one shirt to clean. I spilled red wine on a light blue shirt and to tell the end, at the beginning, Wow Cleaners did get the stain out. My problem is when I came to pick it up, the owner (assumed) wanted to be paid before bringing the shirt out for inspection. I was very clear at the dropoff and did not haggle price - the shirt had to be 100% clean, not 99%. Anything less than perfect wouldn't be good enough for me to wear it and therefore I would not be willing to pay. I was honest and forthright before the work began. The owner accepted and yet at pickup he was acting as though the shirt was not perfect and he was trying to collect before I found out. I have never had a dry cleaners fail to put my clothing out for inspection prior to payment, not ever, until this. After a great deal of tension, he brought the shirt out and I found a stain that was not wine and not there before it was in his custody. I suspect it was some kind of cleaning chemical, which he acknowledged and we agreed he would clean it again. When I came back days later, the shirt was clean and I did pay. What I don't understand is why this guy started an argument with me over something so stupid. In what world may I not see the product of a service I'm paying for, especially a dry cleaner? Wow Cleaners set the stage for an ugly contest of 'who would win' and I don't need that in a dry cleaners, especially when there are so many other choices a few blocks in each direction. Kudos to Wow Cleaners for ultimately getting my shirt clean, but shame on you and 1-Star for putting me through an unnecessary and uncomfortable situation which goes against the norm. My friend accompanied me there, and couldn't believe the whole matter was even real; that it was too stupid to believe if he didn't see it for himself. My words here don't even do the incident justice; I suggest you find another place to patronize, one that smiles and treats you with value instead of contempt and antagonism. Additionally and aside, the store was very cluttered with debris and clothing everywhere. I found myself standing on a vertical sign that appeared thrown to the floor, and piles of clothing were strewn about. At dropoff there were two people including the assumed owner. I had been a loyal customer at this cleaners for years, but suddenly the owner got indignant when I told him they caused a small tear in the seam of my dress. I took a borrowed dress to be cleaned so I could wear it to an Indian wedding, and noticed only on the morning of the wedding that the seam was torn. After taking it back to be cleaned again so I could return the dress to my friend, I mentioned to the owner very causally that it had a small tear. I asked them to repair it. He immediately got angry and insisted that I must have torn it myself (customer is always right!). I refused to argue with him, but when I went to pick it up a week later, he angrily greeted me with "Don't you EVER accuse me! You are not welcome in this business again!". Never in my life have I seen a business owner act so unprofessionally in such an unwarranted way. I was completely pleasant and tried to let him know that the damage wasn't a big deal, but he suggested that he had to blame his employees if damage is done to a garment, and they shouldn't get in trouble for no reason. All of it was so bizarre. Needless to say, he lost a loyal customer with his over the top behavior. Beware if you chose to do business there. read more

I was getting way overcharged by my other drycleaners...so decided to scope out some others. I always drive by Wow Cleaners on Ventura and decided to bring in a few emergency pieces of clothing that needed to be drycleaned as a test run. The owner is super friendly, and will definitely accommodate your schedule. Pricing is very reasonable compared to other drycleaners in the Valley. Since my first visit, I have had a bridesmaid dress and blouse altered. Both turned out just the way I wanted and at a really great price! They are very meticulous with their work, my clothes always come beautifully packaged with extra tissue paper around the collars of shirts, no safety pins to hang dresses or skirts from hangers...etc. Overall, really great service with equally great prices!! read more

This place is great! I drop off about 100 dollars of dry clean a month. (No, im not lazy, I just wear slacks and shirts for work on a daily basis) The owner (Phillip) is great, remembers my name, shakes my hand and chit chats with me to let me know that I am a customer, a client, not just someone dropping of clothes. He appreicates my business and I appreciate the work he does. My clothes are always clean, pressed the way I like it. (Creases on the sleeves of my shirts--military style!) The employees there are honest as they come. And its for this main reason I go back. Numerous times I have left money in my pants; anywhere from 1 dollars up to 40 dollars, and everytime the money comes back to me. The cleaner could of pocketed it and I would of never known. The place itself has a style of its own. Decorations, books, photos. They also promote local business by displaying business cards in a professional manner. I had been going to the same dry cleaner for the past 15 years, but when I needed my dry cleaning done in a hurry and my place was closed, I gave Wow cleaners a try. At first, I didn't have high hopes to be honest. The place is neon green with all sorts of knick knacks. I kid you not, there is a neon dolphin fountain, pictures of Jesus, antique sewing machines, lighnting orbs, and a business card tree... I dropped off my clothes and was treated very politely by the owner, Philip. He actually asked how I like my pants pressed with or without I picked them up and they were immaculately pressed with the appropriate amount of tissue. As I unwrapped my clothes, they smelled really fresh and clean, like they had been washed and line dried. It was then that I realized that all of my other clothes smelled chemical-y. It turns out that they use environmentally friendly solutions, and while they are still just chemicals, they don't smell like them! The clincher for me was that at my last visit, Philip, provided me with an end of year reciept for my tax returns! Who does that? I now use Wow exclusively and have been very happy with the care of my clothing, the 7 day per week convenience, quick turn around time, comparatively low cost... Forget about quick turnaround. Here's what happened when I came in with a suit at 11am on Thursday: "Can you have this suit cleaned and ready by the end of the business today?" "We can have it ready by 5pm tomorrow." "Eesh, that won't work. How about noon tomorrow?" "Sure!" Back at noon the following day, nothing had happened to the suit. Nada. They had me stand and wait 20 minutes while they cleaned it on the spot. This would have been okay, but when I later took off the plastic, the pants still had the same smudges and the coat was covered in random hair. Fail. Found out I was going on a last minute business trip and needed to get my blazer not only dry cleaned, but also a seam in the sleeve repaired. ...and I needed it all done within 24 hours! The man at the desk was a sweetheart and seemed very happy to have my business. He gave me a great deal because it was my first time at the shop. I was worried that my jacket wouldn't be ready on time, because I work in the Valley but live in Santa Monica and wouldn't have the time to wait around before going home to pack and catching my red-eye flight from LAX that night. Lo and behold, the jacket was waiting for me, the seam repaired and everything was wonderful. The only slight negative was that the jacket was starched, but then it's never come back starched before and now I just know to ask for no starch. Glad they have parking, because I hate looking for meters for a quick run in and out like going to a cleaners. They're very friendly and for my first time, everything went smoothly. This place doesn't even deserve one star. My first and last time here. I brought my cal king comforter he gave me a price of 35 and saw the 50% sign so when I picked it up and mentioned it he said that was the discount so your saying you charge 70 for washing a comforter . He said i would LOVE it pshhh i already love my comforter I just want it cleaned. He said " I give you good price next time" why not now? if it weren't because I was so tired I would have said that I would not be back. Ps there's also a sign outside that said comforters 24.99 which are completely false. Ugh to make it worse the guy has terrible body odor, wear some deodorant.
