Chicken mofongo with side of arroz con gandules
    Eva R.

Heard they had good food when it had opened years ago & they are now back to the original owner. We were pleased with our food & service from Joanne she was very pleasant & attentive. Restaurant atmosphere is nice it's laid out well and has good amount of seating for a small plaza. Our family had Alcapurrias (masa & yucca) both good not many places offer yucca pleasant surprise. Not greasy & the side sauce was tasty the one thing I would say is a little bit more seasoning on the meat. The beef empanadas also were good and as for the morcillas would have liked a little crispier & needed a little more seasoning as well. Enjoyed chicken mofongo which was juicy & tasty served in small "caldero"(rice pot) and added a side of arroz con gandules. We also had beef & onion with white rice, beans & tostones. The beef was very tender, tostones perfectly cooked and the beans were a little saltier than I would prefer but still edible. Enjoyed a sample of the house coquito and that was creamy, sweet & not overdone with alcohol. We'll be back. Looking forward to their success so Cape Coral keeps a good Puerto Rican restaurant.

    A hair (not mine)

Slow service while only two tables of people, chewy steak, overcooked shrimp (not all deveined), mofongo dry and too thick, lifted up the heavy mound of mofongo and found a hair , told the waiter discreetly and he said it was my hair; it clearly wasn't. Never again! It isn't authentic and it is confusing if they are trying to be a home cooked Puerto Rican type spot or a fancy fine dining spot. Either way, it is a fail. I don't like writing bad reviews but when deemed necessary I will.

I've tried this place when it was called Taino, had mixed feelings, but wanted to try again with the new ownership. When we first arrived we sat ourselves , a server was setting up tables as we were sitting for almost 10 mins with no menus and no server . The server finished setting up tables and then handed us the menu and said here you go , what do you want to drink. No proper table service or customer service. We gave our order and waited 50 mins till we were told our food would come out in a couple mins . The server was just behind the bar making drinks and testing them, and the drinks weren't for any customer , he just placed them on the bar for show. While he's being a bartender he gets called to the kitchen and then comes out with our food. I had a pernil plate with rice and plantains. The meat was nothing but fat , I had no flavor and did not taste like peril , just plain fatty pork. My partner had a PR burger with peril. The burger was nothing but a big beef patty and a slice of pernil. The beef was so dry , there was burnt bacon on it and a fatty piece of pernil. He couldn't even eat the whole thing cause it was not tasteful. The chef came out and talked to the other table, the whole time we were eating no one came over . As the chef was talking about the food with the other table and didn't give us any recognition, we just asked for our check and let the serve know about the food. He apologized but didn't let any manager or let the chef know . We paid for our food but we will never be a customer there again. As Puerto ricans we look forward to eating at local restaurants represent our island. It was just ashame we didn't get a great experience .

Wow Sandwich & Grill, NE 3rd Ave, Cape Coral, Fl., Here is my 2 cents and the food and chatter. Chatter... I eat out because I get tired of my own Superior cooking. Plus its cheaper to eat out sometimes. Though it is never cheaper for me because I ALWAYS tip 20% or more to my server. ( I never tip owners.) With the name like wow and too many stars on yelp. I needed to try this joint. Well, it really does not stack up to all these stars... The service is wonderful...Folks are really nice. But I come to eat...I was not WOW with my order... It was just okay...Same way as I would make at home. Also very reasonable price I will say. My entree was a thick cut pork chop with plantains and cole slaw. It did not knock off my boots. No special seasoning or other sauce was added. Just salt & pepper. Plantains were just OK. Slaw I have had better... I will be back and try a recommendation from the house the next time though. Maybe next time they can earn the name.

    Mofongo relleno de camarón (shrimp)

Visited this little place today with my friend who is Puertorican. Everything was great! We ordered a couple of different items to try everything out. We ordered mofongo relleno de camarón, mofongo con carne frita, a churrasco sandwich, an alcapurria, sorullitos de maíz, and tres leches. Everything had a great flavor and both my friend and her family approve! It was my first time trying the sorullitos and I wasn't a fan of them, they don't really have much flavor to me. The tres leches was very good! My only complaint is that the service is a little on the slower side as I assume they only have one cook. You can tell the food is cooked when ordered and can even hear them mashing the plantains as you wait for your food. Besides that, the customer service is great. I would suggest maybe calling your order 30 minutes ahead of time.

True authentic Puerto Rican cuisine. I highly recommend their sangria ice cream very well worth the price. Real home cooked flavor.

Definitely not bad, but the broth was lacking a little in flavor, so I probably wouldn't order it again. For the table, we got the shrimp tacos, Gouda Mac, and Poultrygeist. The shrimp tacos and Gouda Mac were definitely the standouts--both were great! The Poultrygeist was good overall and had great flavor, but the chicken itself was a little underwhelming. The aioli, though, was absolutely yummy! I'd highly recommend asking for extra on the side because it really made the dish. The portions were a good size, too. We all ended up having leftovers, which is always a plus! Service was great throughout the meal. Our drinks were constantly being refilled, and the staff was attentive without being overbearing. The atmosphere had a fun sports bar vibe, but it was still relaxed enough that we could easily talk and catch up. Overall, a solid spot for a casual dinner with friends!

They have beer (but no Guinness) and food. Place is clean, service was very good, and ample seating. So my friend Rob found this place through the SWFL Foodies Group. He heard that they had the hottest wings ever. As the self-proclaimed Hot Sauce Champion, I had to accept the challenge. I have eaten hot food/wings from all over the world. Never beaten........ until tonight. Now I know what Mike Tyson felt like after meeting Buster Douglas. What?! What happened? Is it over? See video (https://www.facebook.com/robbie.yeager.1/videos/10215292132360916/). My friend Rob enjoyed videoing this way too much. So YES, the Viper Wings are f#$@ing hot. Ingredient list: Hot Buffalo blended with BBQ, Ghost Pepper extract oil, Ghost peppers, Trinidad Scorpion peppers, and Habanero peppers. Dusted with Cayenne and Carolina Reaper peppers. I think it was the Cayenne that took it over the top - LOL. Unfortunately, eating the wings was just 1/2 the experience. And NO I'm not talking about the "going" part. I experienced some major stomach pains throughout the night, so much so that I couldn't make it to work the next day (lack of sleep). After 6 years - I took my first sick day. So as a warning to others, these wings are no joke. So in the infamous words of Roberto Duran..... No Mas, No Mas

So imagine my surprise and disappointment to return to Cape Coral and find they have changed my favorite dish. Instead of the piled high assortment of lettuce, diced tomatoes, jalapeños, and chili on top of a bed of corn chips, with a huge scooping of sour cream to top... What they now serve is a flat layer of corn chips with a little bit of chili, a sprinkling of lettuce a few diced tomatoes and jalapeños and a drizzle of watery sour cream. I asked the waitress if this was a different person in the kitchen or if they changed the way they make the dish. Apparently they changed the dish. Big mistake. I guess they're trying to save money by reducing the portion size and what they now include. Yes it mostly the same ingredients, but in very different proportions... And the sour cream is totally different than what they used to use. The result is a very mediocre Nachos and a very poor value. They've gone from the Best Nachos to a don't order again. If you need to adjust for rising costs then raise the price, but don't change the dish. You ruined what was a special menu item... And you lost customers as a result. Too bad.

The place is pretty good sized with an outdoor patio that's big as well. We were seated inside immediately. The server was friendly but not around much. It took awhile for the food to arrive, probably because the kitchen was gearing up for the day. I was impressed with the salad - chicken, shrimp, on a bed of delicious rice. I usually don't finish my whole meal, but I did with this salad. The sliders were big, the fries plentiful and the quesadilla was big with lots of chicken. I like this place. I'll go back.

The 80s rock music was excellent and customers can choose a song from the wall mounted digital juke box at only $1.00 for two songs. The dry rub Jamaican wings were too dry and not enough jerk kick for my taste but loved the garlic ginger with a big tray of french fries.
