I've been in a couple times now and am impressed at their quality and capabilities. It's nice to find a gunsmith that works on all firearms. I'm pretty savvy with most things. I can change out triggers, safeties, gun sights, some repairs and light modifications. There are a lot of things that I can't do, don't want to do, or I just want somebody to do it better than I can. That's where these guys are great. Last time, the turnaround time was amazingly fast. I wasn't expecting that, and It's not something I would usually set expectations for. I'm more concerned with quality of work. Nonetheless, they turned the job out in 3 working days for a low priority pin and weld job. I like that they have opinions, and trust their knowledge. One time, the client ahead of me was discussing modifications to an older model polymer handgun that was not a Glock or a Smith & Wesson. It Was impressive to see the staff member's depth of knowledge, and even the fact that he appreciated a non-main stream piece of art. They're not the closest, but I'm not going anywhere else. called and asked if they could install a supplied barrel on a smith 625. the person on the phone did not know what a 625 was so i explained it to him. I asked for the cost and a time line. He left to check and came back stating $1000 plus, then stated the usual wait wa 4-6 weeks. The next day I called 3 times finally I got a call back. I stated I had called the day prior and was going to bring my gun in and I as the job was expensive and complicated could I talk with the gunsmith when I dropped it off. I was told I could not talk with the gunsmith as they had to stay in the shop. This concernled me and I advised him this did not work for me. I located another shop who spent some time answering my question. This is one of those places buyer beware. read more

Well, you guys asked me to post up so here it is, So, I brought in my Thompson Center ENCORE to have the scope mounted and bore sighted. The guy's up front was very professional and nice so 5 stars to the front-end guys. the work was completed later that afternoon, and they texted my to let me know it was ready to go. I headed over after work and they brought the gun out to me and the gun was brought out and looked at by the associate, then handed to me to inspect. Well, when I looked at it the vertical line was angled from the left of my trigger to the right of my trigger, about a 1/4 inch off! so I handed it back and asked him to look through it again? he asked the other associate to give it a look and he immediately said yes that's off. So back it went for an adjustment. When it came out the second time they handed it back to me and this time it was about an 1/8" off! so, I handed it back and said I think we are still off. Back again. This time when they returned it was good to go. Made me scratch my head though. I have mounted a couple scopes and I know it's kind of a pain but that was me on my kitchen table. But I expected them to have it dialed. Out to throw some lead down range: I took a friend with who does long range shooting to help me dial it in, the first 2 shots at 50 yards were not on paper so he made an adjustment and got us close, then a couple more and we were cooking with butter. I kind of thought that should have been on the paper at 50 and pretty close from the bore sight. Someone can educate me on that if I'm wrong? We ran out to 100 and then to 200 and I was shooting within 1 MOA at that point. I'm happy with the end result but just the couple hick ups. So, 3 stars to the team in the back for not being more critical of their work before sending it out the door. I get it and do appreciate them asking and I give this info not to bash them but to help them better their service. read more

I sent my gun frame in for coating on the monthly special. I guess I wasn't aware if all the costs, because if I had, I probably wouldn't have sent it in. for example, it didn't occur to me that they would charge $45 dollars to dismantle the frame. I think the whole job was over $200. not really worth it for a Glock. I will think hard before I send another gun in. I did give them 4 stars, because the coating itself was well done. read more

I took my XD to Wright Armory for a complete upgrade. Cerakoting, new front sight, slide milling and milling for an Optic. I had an issue with some of the workmanship and their response was more than I expected and that's saying a lot since I consider myself an expert on how to go above and beyond for a customer. I once owned a very large franchise and for almost 10 years I taught national Franchiees, "Total Customer Satisfaction". Every business has problems but the difference between a great business and a poor one is how you take care of those problems. Every employee I dealt with (Brian, Jeff, and Marcus) were extremely polite and professional. They are extremely busy so be prepared for delays in emails, and phone calls but in today's business environment that's to be expected. I contacted Brian Wright, the owner of Wright Armory to have some work completed on my AR-15. I wanted to get some engraving done in the 3rd selector position on my AR, as I am running a Binary trigger and I wanted the selector clearly marked as being an non-safe position. I was very clear in my request, I wanted the H&K stock 2-round pictogram with the depth/width matching my existing marking on my lower receiver. I sent him pictures of the exact image that I wanted engraved on my weapon. I was told "Not a problem, we can definitely make that happen!" After a few weeks, I drove 200 miles round trip to get the work completed on my weapon at my scheduled appointment time. When I arrived, the sample images that they had made looked no where close to the images I provided them. They keep blaming it on their "subcontracted designer". After about 3 hours, they finally got the exact image I wanted and supplied. Since Brain was not at the shop, I was dealing with a younger man that I hadn't dealt with before. I explained to him that I wanted the width/depth of the engraving to match my existing markings, and I wanted the image aligned with the top of the existing markings for proper placement (proof in photo section of work order). The completed work I got back was absolutely unacceptable. The markings depth, width, and alignment were way off from what I requested. They offered me a full refund for the work (which was given). However, now I have a ruined $300 lower receiver. I have contacted other engraves to see if this receiver could be repaired and was told... "an experienced engraver would have done better, but also would've known what not to promise. The CNC cuts a lot different than a laser so it would be hard to make it 100% identical but yeah that's pretty bad. I'd have gotten you a new one and chalked it up to a hard learned lesson before I handed that back to you." So, in short... Be aware, if you use this company, you may run into the same issue. Now I have a ruined lower receiver and Wright Armory refused to make this right. BEWARE!!!! read more

Took my .380 colt pocket lite and RG 38 in for repair. Extractor on the .380 had fallen down inside the gun. Found out later it was a 5 minute fix to reset it. RG 38 trigger was stuck. Got both guns back dirty and RG 38 wasn't repaired. Charged me $175. Took the RG 38 to Gadsden Gun works. $30 later , gun was repaired. Highly discourage going to Wright Armory. Wright Armory did a fabulous cerakote job on my Colt Government 1911. This was a commemorative piece that had engraving on both sides of the slide and frame, it had no relevance or sentimental value to me so I had Wright remove every bit of it, you cannot see the slightest trace of this - perfect job. On my last trip to AZ, I decided to take my dad's old Colt revolver in to get it cleaned up. I called around to some gun shops for advice on who could work on a Colt and finally decided to ask Wright Armory gunsmiths to clean it up. (Healy Firearms on Baseline, my awesome neighborhood gun shop, had recommended Wright for gunsmithing.) Anyway, the Colt had some rust on it from years of neglect and needed a gentle hand as well as someone who knew Colts. Many gunsmiths only work on tactical firearms nowadays but Marcos and the guys at Wright did a great job with the old revolver... and got it to me quicker than normal because I had to fly back home. My dad just sees that old Colt as his 'snake gun' but still, we're all so glad that it's cleaned up and in trustworthy, working condition now. :-) Total cost: $110 for cleaning, lube and rust removal. Sure, that's more than other shops quoted me but the guy at Wright's actually knew how to talk Colts. You should have heard some of the other responses on calls I made... lol. The only thing they didn't do was the 'test shot' I'd requested. That was likely because they rushed the job for me, though, so I didn't mind. I appreciated the quicker turnaround. Tip: Make sure the person who drops off the firearm can also pick it up. If not, they have to do a $20 transfer paperwork. Based on my experience with them this weekend, I'd recommend Wright to others. See ya there! read more

Poor rmr pattern cut. Disappointing. The radius is so off. After having multiple issues with my optic mounting and movement i took it to a pro glock Armour. The lack of posts and poor cut means i wont be able to run an rmr on this slide. The slide is basically ruined... super disappointing. read more

I bought a RIA 1911 Officer because of the good reviews of it being a solid shooter. First time out was at C2 and the slide had trouble closing. So being at C2, I dropped it off at Wright Armory since they're right there. They took the pistol for a super quick diagnosis while I waited and suspected it to be possible barrel linkage problem. They estimated $80 to fit the linkage. Now, I'm aware that things aren't always as they seem and once you get into a project, other issues may present themselves that weren't known before. So I knew that there was a chance the pistol had other things that may require work. I trusted the guys at Wright Armory to get my pistol running like a top. Other things they found with my pistol included the spring tension was too weak, slide lock needed fitting, and extractor needed tuned and then replaced when the stock extractor wouldn't cooperate. At each step in the process, they texted me to receive approval for the work. At any point if I wanted my pistol back, I could have refused the next step and picked it up. They never continued with work without my approval, which was nice. The guys were friendly and straight forward with issues with my pistol and answered questions I had each step of the way. Very happy with my experience and they work they did. Will be dropping off any gun smithing I need in the future there. read more
