Attempted to install a commercial 5×3 phase AC August of this year. Unfortunately, the unit has never worked properly, and Leon, the owner has stopped responding. They have ghosted us and will not send anyone out to fix the unit. Their company is more expensive than an independent contractor. I understand mistakes happen and sometimes people don't do their jobs; but the hardest part for me is the lack of communication and the attitude of the staff when dealing with a challenging situation. It's easy to be professional and courteous when you're taking someone's money so but that becomes harder when you need to actually do your job. I think there are a lot of HVAC companies, but this is not the one I would use again. read more

I have a Service Agreement with this company. I was having an issue with the downstairs heat not running. They gave me an estimate to replace zone board and zone damper motor. I paid $1,160.52 to have that done. The downstairs heater then was working fine, but I started having issues with the upstairs that very night. I couldn't get the temperature to drop below 70 degrees when I put the thermostat as low as 65 degrees. They sent a different person out to look at it. He said there was nothing wrong, and the issue was that the heat downstairs, which was set at 68 degrees, was causing it to heat up to 70 degrees upstairs. I knew this was not right, because I always set it at 68 upstairs and downstairs at night and never had this issue before. He was insistent. He said he didn't do anything, but somehow the issue was fixed after he left. So, whatever. I was just glad that it was working correctly again. In the mean time the first worker had told me my system was the original system (which would be from 2007) and they usually last 15-18 years, or something like that. Hearing that, I was concerned that I'd have to replace the whole system soon, so I got an estimate on what that would cost, which was over $14,000. Today, I happened to go onto Zillow to see my current home value, and saw "HVAC 2017" on the listing. I was wondering why they told me it was the original system. I decided to go look at the heater in the attic, and it has a sticker on it with a date of June 2017. At this point I am furious! I moved into this home in 2023, so I wasn't the one who replaced the HVAC, and King Heating and Air had me thinking it would likely soon need to be replaced. I called them and told them I want to cancel my Service Agreement because I no longer trust them at all. They said since I paid for the year they can't refund me, but they'll talk to the manager about it. This is how I feel about that. read more

King heating and Air installed a propane fireplace log set. I wanted a blower added and signed and authorized an estimate on May 29th. Was called two days later and told they ordered the parts. When I called 3 weeks later, was told by Cat that brie would be in on Monday and would reach out. Today is Thursday (still no call). I called in and spoke to Cat who said they were waiting for someone else to comeback from the Coast to look into it but that nothing was ordered. Than she proceeds to tell me they wouldn't be able to order it until the Fall. I have been getting the run-around for a month. Not good business and if you are going to provide a service, you better get people who understand and know the business they are working in! read more

Horrible experience! Beware this company attempts to upsell and potentially hurts your unit in order to gain more service. first call I was told there would be a service charge and they would let me know what was wrong with the unit. I paid the $89 / charge which was less than others which is what drew me in. Then I was told there was a huge huge fix that cost a ton of money the motherboard was out on my unit. I went ahead and fixed the big main board to my unit and signed off and paid the additional money. This is two visits by now....at the end of it I was told everything was up and running. Nothing was fixed it was exactly the same as it ever was nothing had changed after such a huge expense. I called them back and then was told that the thermostat was broken and that I needed to replace the thermostat. I told him I would wait and get some quotes. He said there was a small thing he could do to the wires to make it work but he would only do it if I promise to give them a call and set up an appointment for later when I could forward it and get a really nice thermostat he needed to sell these thermostats to help him out and I'm quoting...I said find that would be great he said it would probablyonly work for a little while and can mess up my unit if I didn't call and get the thermostat shortly after. I said would it make the heat work and he said yes. Per his prediction it only lasts a little while but at the end of this visit he said that there would be an $89 charge for coming out I said really are you serious because you just fix this unit you couldn't find that the thermostat was broken before when you came and he said yeah sometimes you just don't know and it shows up later I paid the $89 charge. As I say this only lasted a short while I had to call them and have them install a thermostat I got the cheapest possible thermostat another $180 and another service charge.... But wait there's more it stopped working again I called and the lady said it was probably just something small like a wire or something related to the thermostat there wouldn't be a charge for coming out of course not it has been less than a month since they were there before unless there was something completely different that they were not aware of it would not be any charge. I said yeah if it's something like freon that has leaked out or something I'll just pay for the freon right but not the service charge she said yes. So... He gets here barely looks at the thermostat or these wires she referenced in immediately goes to the back and then immediately tells me that it is low on freon and that probably there is a week and that he would need to do a leak-check as well as putting freon tons more money! I said okay thanks I will think about it and let you know if I want you guys to do it or someone else. At this point I'm just really annoyed and don't trust this guy at all or the company I'm thinking did they not check the levels of freon before they left the last time? Is it normal for freon to leak out when you do a repair like this from the previous time and if so would he not know that and have told me then why has all this not been found in one service I have never had one company come out so many times to my unit! he says well if you're not going to buy something you have to pay the service charge. I said what do you mean if I'm not going to buy something he said we always expect you to buy something if you're not going to buy then you have to pay a surcharge I said no I'm sorry I'm not going to pay the service charge please just go ahead and put the cover back on and go I will let the people know at the office I'm not paying it. He goes outside and sits in front of the unit and I'm watching him through window he was there for an incredibly long time and kept touching everything inside of the unit I said please put the cover back on and he said I'm checking some stuff and I said you don't need to check anything else please go and put the unit back on with purpose he seemed to be doing something to my unit. it works worse now than it did before he left at this point it's not working very well at all. ...when I called the office and said they will not be a charge for the service called correct because you had said it had been lost in the month and they were not be a service charge the lady at the front office said you didn't buy anything so yes there will be a service charge I said I was not told that on the phone I was told if I choose to buy freon or a product from you I would only pay for that product she said yes but if you don't buy something from us you have to pay for the service charge I told her I was not told that on the phone and specifically asked about it before they came out because I had paid for three different times that I didn't feel I should have to pay for. Very sneaky company upselling and damage to property for more work is what I would look out for. read more

King Heating and Air installed a new HVAC unit recently in our NC home while we are stationed out-of-state. The process was extremely efficient and friendly from the first contact, through the estimate, to the final install. Love that they use an online system alerting us of estimates, appointments, and invoices. They are now helping to repair some ductwork that got wet due to a burst pipe in the bathroom while working around our tenant's schedule. We recommend King Heating & Air without hesitation. read more

I should preface with King Heating & Air Conditioning has provided 5 star service to me when I purchased two new units for house. I called today for service on a malfunctioning heating unit as was told they weren't sending techs out in the rain or anticipated snow....? Like what? Instead I had to call Comfort Services who had no problem sending a tech out, diagnosing the issue and providing me the service I needed in advance of the snow coming..... read more

Very pleasant service. I would highly recommend them. The only complaint I would have is that the tech don't clean out the pinestraw amd debris in the unit. Other then that they are amazing. Great prices also. read more
