I tried their garlic and lemon pepper wings and they were seasoned and cooked to perfection!!! The fries are in my top 3 favorite, and the nachos are the best I've ever eaten!!!! This place has a chill atmosphere... nice place to wind down after a long day. I typically do not consume alcoholic beverages but their Mango Margarita is delicious. I came here for a quick game of pool and decided to check in and wouldn't you know it there was a fun little surprise so I decided to stop by the bar and with quick and swift service the amazing Bartender Isaac, was there in a flash he was able to serve me up to delicious purple geckos with amazing service, great kindness, and made me feel really special in my own way. I will definitely be back for more and hope to see more of this place they have a few games you can play some foosball, pool table, ping-pong, and dark, there's also some Jenga there's indoor and outdoor seating. Aways looking for a new late night place to grab a bite after work. So it's a bar with pool tables and darts and some other entertainment. I went with a coworker for some food. Yelp discount on a drink for $2.50. It was pretty good...called the Purple Gecko. It definitely tasted purple. It's a bar so expect loud music. Ample outdoor seating for fair weather nights. My only real gripe was when I asked if the doneness of the burgers are fixed, I was told they're all cooked well-done. That's what I got. It's thick enough to need to be medium. I love Wurzbach icehouse because it is what it is and does not try to be something it's not. The crowd varies from college students, to young professionals, to average joes, and even silver-haired patrons frequenting the bar area. Night time though, your 20 something year olds dominate the demographic. Food wise, It's not known for its gourmet menu, but rather, it serves consistently "bar food" thats pretty good when sober (lol) and tastes better when you've taken advantage of all the drink specials and all day HH specials. I normally order one of their burgers medium well with tater tots (which are surprisingly tasty). The burgers are decent. Not the best but not falling behind. They're are a decent size and around $7 - $10 depending on the toppings. The Cali burger was served hot and covered in two good sized strips of bacon, a good amount of melted cheese, and a nice heap of avocado. Charisma, the cook, really hooked it up! I always like a well-done chili cheese dog. I happened to catch her while she was walking by and asked her if she could accommodate me. She was fine with it. My chili cheese dog came out very well-done as per my request. I am also not a fan of a cold hot dog bun. The bun was served very warm, much appreciated! The homemade chili was delicious! This place is a great place to grab something to eat during the day. It does get pack on Fridays after 5 and Saturday evening's. Staff is friendly but can take quite a while to get a drink when it gets full. Also there security is great, they check EVERYONE 's i.d. when you walk in and they are walking around watching. Ah, Wurzbach - old faithful. I wouldn't define this as a "dive bar" but it definitely has a laid back atmosphere to it. It's a great place for drinks after work, before a night out, or those times when you just need a drink. There are always cheap drink specials ($2 wells, I'm talking to you) and a good crowd if you're into meeting new people or just people watching. The bouncers can be hit or miss but in my experience, if you leave them alone, they won't bother you. On a Sunday afternoon, we met a group of friends and one was wearing his Nike slides. The bouncer told him slides weren't allowed because they look "ghetto". I'm assuming this is coming from management, not this particular bouncer's personal viewpoint. The bartenders and wait staff are super friendly. It's easy to see that every bartender has his/her group of regulars. I recommend getting a seat at the bar. It's much easier to order food/drinks from the bar than wait for a waiter to get to you at a table. Also, if you're sitting at a table and move to the bar, you have to close one tab to start another. Speaking of food, the burgers are yummy and you can never go wrong with sharing a bunch of appetizers. The bar uses TouchTunes as a "jukebox" which allows you to download the app and pay for the songs you want to hear. This actually works in favor of the bars as some get a residual depending on how many TouchTunes members they have at their bar. Usually, you can hear your favorite country songs being played. I particularly like to go because I know on any given night at least one song by Randy Rogers Band will play. The one time I was disappointed in the music selection was when they were filtering certain (it felt like all) rap artists. We tried playing songs from the most popular artists - Biggie, Tupac, Drake - and not a single song was available to play. My boyfriend messaged them on Facebook that night and never heard back. I think I'll always have a soft spot for this bar because it's where I met my boyfriend. However, I will say it can be hit or miss - whether it's service, environment, food or the bouncers. Either way, it's a great option if you're looking for a laid back atmosphere with cheap drinks and great people watching. read more

Really chill place for a Monday night happy hour. Domestic drafts were $2 until 8:00pm - you just can't beat that. They have a couple of pool tables, a ping pong table, some background music and a really casual atmosphere. It was a Monday so it wasn't too crowded, or very loud, so it was a really good place to hang out with friends and actually hear each other talk.
