Visiting lake placid for the weekend and stopped by Wyatt's and did not disappoint, their haberno bbq pork was tender, flavorful and juicy. Really good portion for the price especially since everywhere around the area is pricey. Workers were really nice and service was quick. You fill out a paper and choose what u want in the bowl and then hand it to the worker. Overall would come back!

Very tasty bowl! This is a walk up window where you check the boxes on an order sheet which I loved! No missing ingredients, it's exactly as you asked for. We waited about 20 minutes for food for 3 which was reasonable the night prior to the eclipse. This is a solid affordable choice for a quick meal!

In a charming town that has a surprisingly atrocious food scene, Wyatt's is a shining star and might just be the best food option in Lake Placid. Entering the tiny Alpine Mall, you'll see slips of paper and blue highlighters to your immediate right under a menu board. And this is where the fun begins, offering numerous choices of freshly made dishes. The actual Wyatt's restaurant is to the left, its menu is to the right, and hangs in the window of the family's co-owned Eleanor's Pasta Kitchen also to the right. I opted for the brisket sandwich. But having eaten a lot of real barbecue in the South, I was skeptical of what I might receive. Let me tell you - owners of Wyatt's - you absolutely shocked me! A hearty portion of tender brisket was piled on a soft bun, toasted inside, with a delicious barbecue sauce. I actually wish there had been double the sauce! It was a wonderful sandwich indeed, even to a group of southerners! Amazing! The chips and queso appeared at first to be the standard ballpark version (you know those circular chips with that fake, orange cheese dip served at concession stands). But just one taste gave us a revelation! This isn't orange liquid cheese. This is a house-made concoction with real cheese that is deliciously flavorful! Wyatt's was a real winner! It's a hidden gem that we highly recommend while dodging Lake Placid's flashy eateries with their fancy lake views but mediocre food.

Shout out to Wyatt's! I was in LP and wanted a burrito bowl. Ordering is super easy. Just highlight your item and then highlight your ingredients. You can also order online via ChowNow. Theres one table in the hall to eat at and I believe they also let you sit across the hall at the pasta place. I got a chicken bowl which is a marinated pulled type chicken. The rice was a little wetter than I prefer but it wasn't bad. All ingredients tasted fresh. I would probably pay for a double portion of guac the next time as the standard amount is a little small. Overall a great spot for lunch or casual dinner!

Awesome spot with quick service (takeout only). Took about 10 minutes for 3 meals. You fill out a sheet with your meal choice and fillings and pay at the counter. HUGE burritos and very filling! Super affordable too, especially for the area.

The family decided on taking a road trip to Lake Placid for a short getaway. We arrived to our hotel late in the afternoon and after getting situated in our room, we decided to quickly pick up some dinner before putting our son to sleep. We walked passed Wyatt's and remembered reading about it on yelp prior so we decided to check it out. The menu is simple and you just highlight what you want to order and submit the form to the cashier. The brisket sandwich was delicious as the meat was not dry and the in house bbq sauce went well with it. The pork burrito is huge and extremely satisfying. The Mexican brown rice is well seasoned and they did not go overboard with the cheese or sour cream like other places. No complaints here.. would definitely return given the opportunity.

These TACOS were great and the location is crazy cool. I love that you can see the biz and then enter through the store walkway. We had just arrived and were starving before dinner, so we grabbed two tacos and some AMAZING chips. We enjoyed them in the hotel room and they were ready speedy quick. The staff member I was working with was fantastic and I look forward to trying more of their offerings in the future for trips. We went with a chicken and carnitas taco - and both were fab. Happy taco-ing!

Take out only!!!! Which is perfect when you have come back to civilization after a 5 day canoe trip and are not really looking or smelling like someone that would be seated in some of Lake Placid's fancier establishments... That overshare aside, Wyatt's has some amazing tex-mex inspired food. The pork is medium spice with a sweetness that makes it really rich, I had brisket tacos with the option of about 20 different toppings. Service is quick considering it is so popular.

Great quick lunch spot! The best Chipotle chicken soft taco I've ever had! And multiple great vegetarian options too. Small spot located in the center of town, not many tables for large groups - but very pleasant service and a clean place. Wish I lived closer! read more

Mexico City burrito is an unbelievably delicious vegetarian option with sweet potato, corn, peppers/onions. My 12 year-old son gobbled the quesadilla-rito, and my 10 year-old son loved the mac and cheese, and we all shared an order of nachos....layered cheese, tomato/onion/cilantro. The refried beans and black beans are both vegetarian. This is a great option for taking back to your hotel room, and they even have beer and cider by the bottle/can, available for take-out. They have a little bit of seating, but we always get take-out. We come to Lake Placid about 8 times a year, and Wyatt's is a winner every time. They are super-nice and genuinely friendly. I am in lake placid for a ski trip with some friends from college and we were looking up some good places to eat and saw this place got good reviews. When we got there, we saw a cute place with eclectic decoration and a great smell. I shared a burrito with chicken chipotle and the brisket. Everything was so delicious. A fun take on fast casual Tex Mex. The menu is super customizable like a Chipotle, but with many more options for toppings and a plethora of hot sauces. I got a burrito bowl with sweet potatoes and other veggies. My husband got a pulled pork burrito with mac n cheese inside. My meal was good, but I immediately regretted going the healthy route after taking a bite of his burrito! It was so delicious!!! read more

I ordered a Veracruz burrito and saw the guy struggling while trying to wrap the million toppings, so I decided that one burrito is enough food to share between me and my mom. After we ate our halves we both became full, but my mom thought the burrito was so delicious that she went ahead and got a second one just for herself. She's a small eater and managed to stomach one and a half burritos from here. read more

This place tasted great! We're from Canada which has no burritos so we were delighted to actually eat one finally. One thing that was dumb though is that if you wanted a few kernels of corn or slices of pepper on your burrito, it's a dollar extra which is a crazy price to pay for like 10 kernels of corn. Ordered four tacos between two people: ground beef, veggie, steak, and chicken. Companion couldn't tell the difference between the chicken and steak in his tacos. My ground beef was awesome but veggie was "meh". A complaint for both of us was the menu is a little confusing-too much to look at when people are hurrying you along. All that being said, service at the counter was great and there were some unique options that made it different from the average Chipotle or Moe's. read more

Excellent burritos. This is like a local Chipotle. Tortilla + rice + beans + meat + toppings + salsa. Ever thing fresh, each made quickly, a decent price. Plus lots of interesting different spicy sauces in tiny bottles. A quick cheap great lunch! read more

Stopped into Wyatt's after hiking Jay Mountain. Wyatt's burritos are just the cure for a hungry hiker and quite a value as well. The menu is short and sweet but covers all the bases from chips and salsa to specialty burritos. Everything is made right in front of you and the final blast in the oven gets everything steaming hot. 2 people 2 appetizers, 2 burritos, 2 beverages (alcoholic) all under $30. Definitely recommend stopping in Wyatt's when in Lake Placid N.Y. read more

The Texas-style brisket sandwich was some of the best I've had and, as a native Texan, that's saying a lot. Very tender and juicy - two thumbs up! I was a little disappointed that they didn't have any smoky BBQ sauce to go with it, but the house-made Western Carolina-style sauce recommended by the owner was delicious. There's a large variety of hot sauces to choose from, as well. The coleslaw was good, but not outstanding, and the cornbread was a bit sweet for my taste. Wyatt's is rather small - not so great for groups, but all-in-all, a really good hole-in-the-wall place for lunch at a decent price. Total for the brisket sandwich meal, including a soft drink, was about $12. read more

Food was delicious. They were out of brisket which was a high bummer but the BBQ pork turned out wonderful. I had the southwest, it had white rice and black beens with meat covered in cheese over onions and peppers. My kids had their Mac and cheese. They love it. read more

We've bypassed this place a hundred times, but this time our teenager insisted he wanted Mexican and wouldn't take no from any of us. We were pleasantly surprised - the place doesn't look like much from the outside, but the food was nice and fresh; everything tasted good. We got a couple different burritos, pulled chicken sandwich and a mac & cheese bowl. Limited seating, but quirky decorations if you get a table inside. Great value, too! Will definitely come back when we're in the mood for something quick. read more

I was up at Whiteface and didn't feel like eating out but I wanted a good meal to bring back to the lodge. I got a burrito (Veracruz) with steak and sweet potatoes etc... off of their menu. For a place that is consistently highly rated, we were a little disappointed in Wyatt's. A Chipotle knock off with some interesting selections (the BBQ brisket is really good and so is the queso) but staff was not super friendly, no music, and high-ish prices. With so many good options in Lake Placid, we probably would not go back. read more

The people who served were nice. Wyatt's mainly a take out place. We had a brisket sandwich and the meat was good, but on a very small burger bun, the coleslaw was okay; however the cornbread was a disappointed. It arrived in a little foiled packet and the top was stuck to the foil and it did not add to the meal at all. For the money it was okay but I would not go back. read more

We stopped by here while we were in town for a hockey tournament. I had the soft chicken taco and a pork taco. But were pretty good. My 8yo had the cheese quesadilla and it was good as well. I did not like the corn chips. Just my personal preference. They are thick yellow corn and I prefer a lighter thin chip but that's just me. Good average place for a quick meal. read more

Ordered two bowls (one vegetarian) and both were very subpar. Not tasty and the veggie bowl only offers one vegetable offering (corn, peppers or sweet potato). If you're from anywhere that has chipotle, save your money and go elsewhere. Only good reviews are from locals that don't know Mexican fast food read more

Well, coming from Texas, neither the tacos nor the bbq in them seemed good. They were okay at best. The prices are low though, and if you are looking for cheap options in a wildly expensive neighborhood, then this is definitely the place you would like to come to. read more

Totally worth the stop. Fresh food and an interesting menu make this a place I'll come back to. The mac 'n cheese bowl looked intriguing (think normal tex mex bowl but with Mac 'n cheese instead of rice). This time, however, I had the vegetarian burrito. Served in a large wheat or white tortilla, it was very filling. In addition to rice (I had brown, but you can get white), I had black beans, sweet potatoes, corn, and peppers and onions, topped off with a little cheese and sour cream. Not a fan of cilantro, so I opted for no sauce as each of them contain the evil weed. (I know, most people like it...) Definitely worth a stop in. Nothing fancy, but good food at a reasonable price. read more

I started with their wings with the Ghost Pepper BBQ sauce on them - They were REALLY GOOD! Meaty wings, great crunch and smokey flavor and that BBQ sauce was so tasty! Next up was to try an order of their brisket nachos. They came out pretty quick and looked nice. They're definitely huge and I wasn't that hungry, so I really wanted to pick the good stuff, like the brisket and many of the toppings and that was all pretty good. The brisket I had was excellent! It had a nice bark and good smoke, yet was moist. Very nice experience, a place I'd definitely return to for another meal or even a drink at the bar!

I came to Lake Placid for a few days to work at a conference and on my first day I looked up places…read moreto eat and this one came up as very appealing so I walked there for lunch and was disappointed to see they were closed. I checked the times online again (Google and their website) and saw they should be open, but weren't. So, I ate elsewhere. Ultimately, I came back on my last night in town and saw they were open and I sat at the bar. The bartender (a European guy) was less than friendly, never smiled, and hardly gave any attention to me, other than to ask what I wanted. Service throughout the entire visit was extremely poor from this guy. At one point, when I ordered my burger, I asked for cherry peppers to be added to it, he simply said "no!" and walked away. I asked him if he said no and he agreed that he did. I told him to come back and I showed him the part of the menu that showed where you can get bacon and cherry peppers added to the burger and this was what I was referring to, except that I only wanted the cherry peppers...He walked away. I ultimately got the burger and as I suspected, no cherry peppers were on it. This guy was literally one of the worst servers I've ever experienced. Along this topic, I noticed that several places in town had these European servers and I asked some locals about this, seems there isn't enough locals to handle the jobs, so they hire these folks, which is fine as long as they teach them some basic customer service skills and monitor their actions to make sure they're not upsetting customers, causing poor reviews for their establishments. When it comes to the flavors - Their chili was decent. It didn't have much depth of flavor and was highly tomato sauce based, but was decent. The menu said it was award winning, which I found interesting, because what I ate didn't taste very award winning. The burger tasted pretty good! The meat was perfectly seasoned and flavorful and the temperature was spot-on. The bun was great. The toppings were also very nicely done. Their fries were excellent! I loved the crunch on the fries, they seemed like they were par-fried then finished fried to order - very nicely done! Overall, my score comes from the terrible customer service. I saw others servers giving great service to the tables, but I made the mistake of sitting at the bar and having this guy. Also, there was a blond lady, maybe the owner or manager who was busy chatting with guests who she knew most of the time I was there and was too busy to check on other guests at the bar, even though she as at the bar too. Tells me that they clearly care more about the locals and those they know rather than those who are just passing through. Maybe it's the reason for their other poor reviews, which I think is sad considering their interesting and unique menu. If they managed service the way they put together such a great menu this would easily be a 5 star place! Hope they turn things around!

That alone would have been enough, but the food made sure we stayed awhile. We started with the wings. These are true buffalo wings. Not breaded, just well sauced and done right. We also ordered the cheese treat and it completely stole the show. Feta, spices, and jalapenos over fresh arugula, scooped onto toasted bread. It is one of those dishes where you keep saying just one more bite until suddenly it is gone. For dinner we tried the shrimp tacos, which have quite a reputation. As Texas people we were a little unsure about the pineapple salsa, but it works. Bright and just sweet enough. The slaw is mellow and tangy and ties everything together in a way that feels thoughtful rather than trendy. The fish and fries surprised us the most. Easily the best fish and chips we have had in years. Real haddock with a light crisp fry and a rich house made tartar sauce that does not play second fiddle. Chance said he usually only likes fish and chips for the fried part, but here he actually liked the fish itself. That tells you everything. The fries are the kind you keep reaching for long after you are full. Our teen ordered the burger and it disappeared before we could negotiate a bite. Former picky eaters do not lie. We tried the Julian cocktail, which drinks like a confident mai tai. The riesling missed the mark a bit. Next time we would go for the sauvignon blanc or the house white.
