We are new program members have have been partaking in swim classes for about a year now. We've also come to the center for some of their stage performances. We have had a great experience so far. Swim classes are run very well, our girls enjoy them and are progressing. We had previously be been part of another swim school and did not have a great experience and the instructors didn't know our children well which disabled their progress. Here, the girls have a relationship with their teachers and we see how well they do each class. Dave/Suzana in the office are terrific also when it comes to all swim related questions. Front desk staff as you enter are very friendly--have always answered my questions well, we very much appreciate having a face there on weekends. The youth theater is terrific and it's so nice having their shows to see with young children in the area. Highly recommend! This summer, we are looking to join their camp for the first time and are very excited to give it a try! We're heard great things. read more

The Franklin Lakes branch of the Y, (which I have been a member for many years), lost its lease and closed while I was out of town. Since the status of the location was unclear when I was leaving, I had given written notice of cancellation in September of 2025. Upon return I saw the monthly charge posted to my credit card October, 2025. (I was out of town from October 2-November 6) Rather than seeking a refund I thought the membership team would honor that payment and allow me to use the Wyckoff Y facility for the next 3 weeks. (I wanted to see if I enjoyed the gym and the people running the facility). I thought I would eventually continue my gym membership in the Wyckoff location. The attitude of Mary in the membership department was less than pleasant and challenged my written cancellation. She said she would try and find the document. subsequently she had the front desk girl call me and state they would not honor my request. read more

The workers were rude and obnoxious and we were told over the phone that the open gym from 6-9 was open to the public and did not require a membership by multiple people so my husband brought my 10 year old son and his friend and when they got there they were told they weren't allowed to be there so my sons friends mother called and was originally told the same thing and when she spoke to the people not letting them in and said it was a state run program and we were told no membership needed and they wouldn't budge and let them in. Do not go there the people in person are rude and obnoxious! read more

This is a beautiful facility with many options to suit many needs. The staff is friendly and cheerful. But for these 2 issues, I would have given 5 stars: 1) The parking can be really challenging. When there are special events you can expect you will not find a place to park. To make it even more challenging, a good many parking spaces are blocked off. Today I gave up after circling 4 times with at least 6 cars in front of me doing the same thing. I forfeited my class. 2) As a lap swimmer, I do not like that during designated lap schedules, the lanes are sometimes blocked to lap swimmers for private lessons. Even worse, all too often a lane is taken up by leftover aqua class participants who stay to bob around on their noodles and chat. On days when the rest of the lanes have multiple swimmers per lane, the noodle bobbers should be ousted to open the lane they bob in. That never happens because they seem to be protected. I often wonder what would happen if I or other lap swimmers tried to swim laps during the aqua exercise class. Hmmmm.... read more

The childcare is absolutely horrible. It seemed okay but staff turnover absolutely destroyed the place. The director does not know what she is doing and made several very questionable hiring decisions. We're out now and things have gotten much better. read more

Everything with this Y is about money. They are supposed to be a non profit, yet their camps are the HIGHEST priced in the area. They do not take feedback well, and the Camp director gets argumentative when you push back on anything. My kids went to this camp for 3 years, and this is the last year. the only reason they went this year was because I had no other options read more

My 2 and 4 year old have done gymnastics and swim classes here they love it. The instructors are great and enthusiastic (as well as patient). The staff as a whole are wonderful, helpful, and genuinely friendly. The gym is great. Lots of equipment and variety. Lots of options for adult classes. They also have special family days from time to time that are a ton of fun. Great place for the whole family. read more

Camp Wydaca is not a safe place to send my kids, in my opinion and experience,. I deeply regretted sending them last year, and I will never do so again. There are MANY instances where my children did not feel physically safe or nurtured. For example, the very first day of camp, they did not allow my preschooler to go to the bathroom because it was too close to pickup time. When I called to address it, they admitted they did that because they're "short staffed" at pickup time and if my child was accompanied to the bathroom, there would be no one else to watch the others at her table. Outrageous! My son was also hit a few times and called names by other kids in his group, and when I called the director to address why he didn't want to go to camp and cried every morning, she berated ME for asking if he was bullied, and proceeded to shut down my claims after a 10-minute "investigation" (it was 10 minutes from the time she spoke to me to when she called me back - I checked my phone log). She was very nasty and just defensive. 30 years of being director, she's probably seen and done it all and just can't be bothered to deal; it's time to retire if you just genuinely don't have a crap anymore. The young camp counselors are far more understanding and receptive to having a conversation with a parent who is concerned for their child's well-being; any of the more seasoned, high up staff members (leaders) will immediately get defensive when you approach them to talk about any concerns you have. My child was also forced go to into the lake when it was unseasonably cold (it was a weird week last summer when it dropped to high 60s overnight), so I can only imagine how cold that water was. He said it was so cold that his legs ached, but his camp counselors said everyone MUST get into the lake and did not allow him or other children to get out of the lake. When I spoke to them, they said every child must go into the water when it's lake time, no exceptions. Don't get me started on them getting my preschooler to go in way deeper than she was comfortable (up to her neck), which endangers her well-being given that she does NOT know how to swim! You would think that's common sense safety, but I was livid when I found that out. Are they going to wait for a child to drown before they change their policies?! Camp Wydaca is an absolute cattle drive - so many children in and out, not to mention the painful pickup and dropoff procedures. But in our personal experience, Camp Wydaca gets away with a lot because there are very few summer day camps that are in Bergen County. It's an absolute shame that complacency plagues the top-level leadership of Camp Wydaca. read more

Daycare is awful. Waited 4 months to tell me my baby is miserable and "angry". The last straw was seeing another child aggressively hitting mine without any repurcussions or incident report. Very disappointed in staff and facilities. read more

Really wonderful people and amazing facilities for working out. Two different pools, a ton of classes, and everyone is extremely helpful. The only negative is there's only one squat rack and other pieces of equipment, but you can usually work your way into it as you need read more

Visitors are turned away. I just needed to run on the treadmill while visiting my in laws last year for the Holidays. Unusual for a YMCA. I have never had a Y do this before or any gym for that matter. Not a friendly place. I was very insulted. read more

I have been a member of the adult tap class for the last 5 years, and during that time we have had one woman student who has been disrespectful to the class instructor, has been disruptive in class, being rude to follow students , and 2 weeks ago her behavior was out of control , where the teacher and fellow students felt they were being threatened and bullied by her behavior . Several attempts have been made to the administration of the Y and they refuse to get involve in the situation, and would prefer that students and teacher just quit. Why should the entire class have to suffer if one adult student can continue with her antics. I did not believe the YMCA would tolerate this behavior, but I am wrong. Please carefully consider choosing this Y for any classes you or a child may take in the Dance Studio. read more

We have been members of local YMCA's wherever we move. We just had my son's Birthday at the Wyckoff YMCA and it was 110% awesome! We did the superhero party and 2 Party Leaders kept them entertained for an hour and a half with coloring, activities, and an obstacle course. Pizza and Cake, and did the favors. There were balloons and blow-ups, just fantastic. All of this while the adults got to sit and drink coffee and eat cookies. All in All we were so impressed! read more

Very disappoint camp. My son didn't enjoy the camp at all. The counselors weren't caring towards him every time I picked him up he was unchanged and wet. When I tried to call and check on him no one would know who to transfer me to. read more

I'm an employee and have been working for the Wyckoff YMCA for almost 4 years. Let me tell you, it means a lot when an employee can rate their workplace highly. I think this place is an incredible place for families! There are so many things for members of all ages, but especially for children. This Y has a daycare, preschool and kindergarten program; you can drop your children off while you work out for $1 per 2 hour visit; before and aftercare programs, camps for school breaks and summer camp, and the list goes on and on! You can host your child's themed birthday party here and take advantage of the lake in the summer! I highly recommend looking at membership costs for families... You definitely will not be disappointed with the plethora of activities that are offered for everyone in the family! And to top it all off, the Wyckoff YMCA is always trying to improve itself! I only hope that I can take advantage of these wonderful programs when I have a family of my own! read more
