This place has good reviews but I do not recommend going here for powder dip nails. Almost all my nails cracked and 4 of them actually broke. Super painful and ended up having to wear extensions for a few weeks to let my nails heal from all the breakage they caused. I've been getting regular pattern dip manicures since 2013. Do not go here -- this place was absolutely terrible. I spent over 2 hours for a basic single-color gel manicure and left with poorly shaped nails and uneven polish. The first technician couldn't shape my nails properly or apply the polish evenly -- even after 3 coats. I returned to X Nail Bar earlier this week for another SNS manicure. I was thrilled to find that Adriana happened to be my nail tech again. My nails look DIVINE. Legitimately - Adriana has now given me two manicures, and those are the two best manicures I have ever gotten. Her attention to detail is remarkable. Very professional salon that does great dip powder (sealed with a gel top coat). Make sure to make an appointment or call ahead during after-work or weekend hours! Shawn took care of my peeling/cracking nails and hand-filed them into my preferred shape. He was incredibly meticulous with cuticle care (which not all salons include) and dip application -- I've never had someone paint so carefully. My nails are smooth with even color and great-looking cuticles. The space is bright and uncluttered. Each manicure starts with tools from a sealed sanitizing pouch. The prices are also extremely reasonable (/lower than many other salons) but the work and customer service are far better than 95% of salons out there. Looks like a lot of other folks are saying the same thing. Fast, rushed and unfriendly service. Walked in to get a manicure, no one was welcoming. Fine, sat down. A girl came out and starting doing my nails. I told her I'd like my cuticles cut extra, she nodded. When it came to cuticles they use some strange oil from what looks like a pill bottle. I asked if I could soak my hands, she said they don't do that. I then asked if they had cuticle remover, she said no in a way like I was asking for something that she's never heard of. My technician was not delicate in the service and seemed to be in a rush while doing my manicure and pedicure. I was particularly appalled when she didn't scrub my feet in thee pedicure and just slapped underneath my foot with the brush- literally like she was using the scrubbing brush to apply lotion and that was it. Lazy and disappointing! I came with a friend for gel manicures. Typically, a salon will ask if two coats are enough or if you would like a third coat. The staff member working on my nails asked, and I did want a third. As for my friend, the staff member working on her nails didn't ask and went straight into the top coat. They spoke about us in Chinese, not realizing that we are both fluent in Chinese. My staff member told the other to ask my friend if she wanted a third coat. She did not. We spoke up in Chinese, saying we do want a third coat. She said it was too late now, since she put on the top coat. She never asked before she started the top coat! It was very thin and transparent. Both of our nails were painted unevenly and are bumpy. I haven't had a bad experience with this place in the past, but when I went today they overcharged me (the price on the price list came out to $40 and they charged me $45) without an explanation. When I asked to see an updated price list the associate just said that he did not know of one. Both times I went, I also had to ask them a few times to reshape the oval nails as they were crocked. The workers were not particularly nice but not mean at all. I would just be mindful if prices and make sure that they confirm the cost before you start. read more
