I love this salon! One day after I accidentally went to the wrong nail salon that was recommended by a friend..... awk, I went here for Lisa to fix my nails the other nail salon did. This was the second set I got here and I am IN LOVE. The staff is so funny, can do great nail art and have super cute charms. I showed them a picture and got exactly what I wanted and loved them even more than the photo I showed. They have so many color options, deals going on, and really take care of their customers. The one star reviews are all correct. This place is a no no. I started coming here about a month and a half ago, so I've done my nails here 4x. I booked Michelle, irrespective of the bad reviews, because 1) I wanted to give them benefit of doubt, and 2) it's close to home. Michelle is extremely rude, but acts nice once you arrive, but soon as you sit and she starts working on you, she is a different person. I've seen her snap at other clients too, while I waited. She makes it so uncomfortable, doesn't listen to instructions on how a client wants her nails, and will proceed to tell you she's been doing this for ten years and knows what she's doing, and you should basically shut your mouth and let her work. What about listening to the client? And What's so wrong in being open to learn more? Nail extension technique ten years ago, is very different from the techniques in the present day. Life revolves, methods change, but most importantly- allowing flexibility for a paying client to discuss what suits them the most will take you and your business far. The third time I was here a couple weeks back, I asked why she didn't do a second UV gel coat like she's always done and like what I've been used to for years at other salons, she rudely asks me if I want her to teach me, I'm not going to let anyone disrespect me, this is my hard earned money, but I remained calm, and let it go. Explaining to her that I just like my nails a certain way and I wasn't trying to upset her. When it was time to tip, she immediately switches on the fake nice persona, so that she could get a generous tip. I paid and thanked her and was on my way. Now, because she used only one layer of gel, my nails didn't last as long and about three of them got broken and hurt really badly. Upon returning today, I tell her -pls let's do two layers to keep it longer. During the service, she completely ignores my requests for two layers of gel and does one layer, I asked her nicely, yet again She snaps at me, saying oh this is taking out of her time, she doesn't have this time to waste, mind you, the salon is empty (it always is because they are shitty here) there's nobody waiting, and a Uv gel refill roughly takes an hour 20 mins max. I'd only been there for about 50 minutes. This time around, I put my feet down and insisted I wanted two layers. What makes it worse, the first time I came to this salon, I was charged $45 for a refill, I paid a total of $53 which is $13 for tip. The next time I came, the price went up to $65 without tip I asked her why and even showed her my Venmo history because that is how I paid for my service, she responds "oh it's $45 for a refill $5extra for the shape and $5 for top coat, and an additional $5 or so for tax and that she forgot the first time. I have NEVER EVER been charged extra to shape my nails, especially because I kept the same nail shape as I had before. Very fraudulent prices, and the other reviews are right, they are so terrible with appointments, I have showed up a couple of times and they had totally forgotten I made an appointment. And so I have had to reschedule meetings, and life in general because this salon can't even be on top of their appointment books. My reservation today, was for noon, when I got there she asks me to come back at 1pm because her client needed a pedicure also, I returned at 1pm and still had to wait an extra 15 minutes. This experience was totally unexpected. I was poking my head into a couple of nail shops near penn station on a humid, rainy evening after work, and was shocked to find so many places were completely packed. I sort of stumbled upon this spot and was relieved to find only a few customers inside this nice nail salon. I was seen immediately and even had another person assist with removing my old gel polish while getting my pedicure. I decided to treat myself to their Mango spa pedi that included a scrub, oil, hot stone massage etc. I thought the package was reasonably priced and I did not regret it one bit. They were even very accommodating when I was indecisive about the design for my manicure and changed the color for the pedicure last minute. Overall I'd say they went above and beyond for me. I don't normally leave reviews but I'm truly upset about the awful manicure I received and I don't want others to have their nails ruined. I went in with the intention to get a gel manicure. First i had the gel removal. Any person knows that you file the top layer, soak the cotton ball with nail polish remover, and let it sit for at least 10 minute and scrape it off. She came back after five minutes and used the drill. Normally max drill speed is 6-7.. she turned it up to 14! It honestly hurt and layers of my natural nail were coming my off. I had long nails when I came in and she filed them so short! They're so uneven, as you can see from the pictures. I tried to reshape them last night but the damage was done. She also drilled off my cuticles instead of cutting them :( When it was time to polish them I knew I had to speak up because she did an awful job buffing my nails and it wasn't a smooth surface fit for polish. I stopped her right then and there, said I had a meeting and would return later for the polish. Obviously I didn't go back. Maybe she was new or just having an off day but I really feel others should think twice before going to Jamie's. read more

TERRIBLE! The manicure told me to get a more expensive powder with the premise it would last longer and I would be able to leave the salon without waiting for my nails to gwt dry. Turned out the color was completely different, they didnt wven apologize; so I fixed it by adding a gel manicure (which did not dru on my nails and had to go back and get a regular manicure. I've been to Jamie's 2 or 3 times for a gel manicure and each time it's been great. I've never had to wait (going on my lunch break in the mid-afternoon), and the place is really clean and is nicely decorated, especially considering how low their prices are. Each manicure lasted 2 weeks, and would've lasted longer if only I could've stopped my nails from growing (: $28 for a gel manicure is a steal. A regular manicure is even cheaper but not as good as a value--it will chip. read more

My toes look great, but one of them hurts after saying no to getting clipped and she clipped anyway. She took her time on them, seemed to rush my manicure- which smudged without touching anything. Didn't have time to wait for a fix, they didn't offer my money back. I don't even care that I was treated as though I don't speak and I'm an inconvenience. Terrible work and service! I was very exited to go and do my nails after so long due to Covid. I decided to UV gel +Tips and gel manicure $85 The nail tech was Jamie. She did a very poor job. The nail color just started to peel off after the second day and they started to brake. I went to Jamie to fix my nail, not only she was very rude when I hot there, telling me I do not know about nail but she does, the job she redid was terrible. When she filled the nails to make it stronger she filled them half way because my nails grow for the fee days and she refused to do the job right. I will attach photos to see the finished work. The nails stay crooked and have a huge bump in the middle. I am not sure how the are technicians are but she was terrible!! After paying with tip $100 I was very unhappy!!! Very dishonest salon. I asked the nail tech if she would be comfortable to do a powdered gel ombré, which I know is difficult but she confidentially confirmed she could. After an hour and half of trying, she very apologetically expressed that she was sorry and must be having an off day as she was unable to achieve the ombré. I assured her not to worry that she could just continue with a solid color and I would be on my way. Another hour later she then again expressed that she was sorry that she was having trouble doing the solid powered gel but asked if I could come back after work and she would remove the powder and try again. I did as she requested and came back after work just to be told she was busy and to come back the next day. I went back the following day as I already paid for the service and agreed to a gel french manicure. Which is cheaper, but figured she offered that option since powder was causing her difficulty. The Powder manicure is 50, and a gel is 33. My trouble is that she ended up asking me to pay again for a cheaper service. All of my nails are cut up and i have spent over 4 hours and 3 visits later just to be charged more money. Definitely not worth the time or your wallet. Avoid, avoid, avoid. read more

I'm giving them a 3 because of how friendly and professional they aim to be here. Though, I called ahead to make an appointment (since it's by appointment from now on) and once I got there I still had to wait 35 minutes! Once I was sat down though, the nail technician was great on my pedicure and did a good job at removing the cuticles and filing my nails to the right shape. Once she got my nails though, I felt like she was making me leave them under the UV light lamp too long and I was right. Not even into my full week with them and my friend pointed out how it was chipping already. And after the full week I noticed my nails thinning and falling apart I have to keep cutting them and filing them. Disappointed to say the least. I really wanted to like them and have them become my new go to spot since I live relatively close by and they treated me well. But this nail job just doesn't cut it for the price I paid and I'll be trying to repair my once beautiful long and hard nails. read more

I just walked out of here after getting a manicure. I am definitely not going back here. I had s lady with kinda red dye in her hair, younger. She rushed so fast, it was clear she was in a hurry. She was also really rough with filing and cutting the cuticles. She kept pressing with her finger nails down the sides, really hard!! She barely filed cleanly, I was not happy but didn't say anything. When she started to apply the polish she was even sloppier. I honestly think she can't see very well because she kept missing my nail entirely. She got nail polish all over my fingernails, and painted over the cuticles. I hate that! She asked me what was wrong and I tried to explain to her, but she just didn't understand. I was just like get my nails dry and get outta there. I could have done a better job myself. I want to say Jamie's is amazing, but sadly I can't. I didn't need an appointment and was able to get in for a shellac manicure right away. The nail technician who did my mani really took the time to make my manicure look perfect and I walked out really happy, even gave a generous tip, but three days later when my polish started to chip and five days later when every nail had lifted and peeled off I was really disappointed! I've never had a shellac manicure peel in the way this one did and wondered if perhaps the wrong kind of polish had been used. ** IN NEED OF A NEW NAIL SALON ** I went in here a few times to get pedicures and it was okay. I have very thin skin and very sensitive feet and I am upfront and honest about this when I walk into a nail salon. Sometimes people have a problem with this sort of thing and I would rather know that than sit there in pain or have to stop them in the middle. The few times I was here it was nothing special. The girls rush and you get the feeling they can't get you out fast enough. It wasn't the best pedicure in the world, but it wasn't the worst. The shop is near Whole Foods, which was pretty much why I kept going back. Silly reason, I know. Anyway, the last time I was in there I got an Asian girl with permed red hair. I don't know her name. She was way more interested in her conversation with the girl next to us and didn't seem to care that she was hurting me. She ignored me when I asked her to slow down and when I flat out told her not to cut the skin on the side of my toe nail, she refused and kept cutting! I had to raise my voice and jerk my foot away, but she kept insisting she had to cut. I was mortified. Finally the owner of the place had to tell her to put her scissors away and do as I asked. She seemed annoyed at having been told what to do, but eventually did drop her weapon. Apparently this was all very funny to some of the other girls who worked there as they all giggled and snickered. When I paid, the girl who worked on me stood around like she expected a tip.
