Very clean and quiet salon in midtown east. I missed a train at Penn Station on a Saturday morning and had an hour to kill. I came here for a pedicure. The salon was nearly empty and I was served promptly. It was nice and quiet, and my pedicurist was thorough. They easily accommodated my luggage and coat. My massage seat didn't work, and as I'm tall, I couldn't push my seat further back which was a bit uncomfortable. I got the regular pedicure (27 dollars with tax). While a bit expensive compared to competition, I suspect it's because of the location. read more

Only giving this place 3 stars. I really needed a manicure during lunch and this was one of the closest to my job with good prices. Walked in, picked a color from a wall of 3 round shelves. This display of nail polishes sucks btw. I have to pick up each bottle to see what color it is. Sat down with a older lady with glasses and short brown wavy hair. She was nice and did my manicure super fast. It looked good but until she was painting my nails she didn't clean the excess polish off my skin. I had to tell her to do it. How does she not see this? She was even wearing glasses! Also I had to tell her to paint the second coat again over 2 nails because she missed a few spots. I was annoyed but just told her to do it again. I just wished she could've noticed it. When we were done i sat at the drying station for only 10 min or less and my nails were dry but was my first time seeing this kind of nail dryer and I loved it! I plan on coming back but hope to have a person that will paint better and will recommend it to my coworkers since the price and location is great. I went near closing but they said they had time. They rushed and didn't do my cuticles or any massage or any of the other nice things I've experienced at other salons. All of that is fine but in the end, my nails don't look good. The woman's hands were shaking the entire time, there is a hair or something sealed into one nail and a bubble on another, and the top coat wasn't done properly. Overall it looks like I did my nails at home myself and now I have to go somewhere else in a week to pay and have them redone. read more

This place is being managed by Korean. Usually, they do a great job in meni pedi. Most of the ladies that work here are older. The lady that did my nail was in a rush to get more customers. I am so happy I found this place. Its right by Penn Station and by my office, fantastic location right in the middle of everything. They are always busy but take you right away. If there is a wait its so worth it. The wait is only due to the overwhelming demand of love for this place. The manicures here are fantastic. My nails have grown so much and are so much healthier since going here. They are top quality. Also, my gel mani's from here last 3 WEEKS. Unreal. They use OPI UV lights and top notch polish. They are also great at time management. They are flexible if you only have a half hour but can also take their time if you want a relaxing 1.5 hrs. Stopped by for a quick mani-pedi since they're close to the office and I was traveling the next morning. The staff was super helpful and got me in and out in under an hour -- I thought this was a great thing since I had a meeting, but not so much. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Didn't have to wait at all! However - I rarely go to nail salons because of how picky I am about my nails. At the time they seemed to have done a great job. I don't know if it was the polish or application technique, but the polish began to chip a day or two later - on both hands and feet - which was super disappointing, especially being away on vacation! Don't know if I'll be back, especially with so many options around the office - and way cheaper options near my apartment! read more

Appeared clean, no old finger nails still on the mat when it was my turn... I saw the guy thoroughly cleaning the basin after using (not sure if they all do it).. I don't like that: They don't use the electric buffer (very old school)... They are over priced for basic services, polish change on my nails & feet was $16.00 (what the bleepity, bleep, bleep!?!?!) I am recovering from a gel tip manicure that I had in Los Angeles that I loved but my nails are tired and needed a break from being filed and gel tipped to death. I was in the neighborhood and spotted this place. The manager Hye was so friendly! Mina gave me a perfect gel manicure. She was fast AND gentle! I have sensitive cuticles and tiny Korean hands. I'm also a tv actress so my nails have to look clean and symmetrical. A gel mani is $32! The salon is clean and the color selection was great! No chemical smell! Love my nails. This place is a little pricey - $12 for a manicure. I always have trouble not messing up by Nails but they have a UV machine that dries your nails in about 10 minutes fully and completely. Great alternative to spending 25-30 dollars on gel manicures. I was so confused why this place was so empty, really fast service I was in and out in 20 minutes. I'm really not one to write reviews, but I had a pretty bad experience here. I get gel manicures on a regular basis and have for a long time. I got one here a couple of months ago, and it was great. I went in for a walk in gel manicure this evening. The whole thing took almost an hour and a half... way too long. A couple of my nails are a little jagged. My cuticles look and feel dry and are irritated from how forceful she was filing them and pushing them back. I had to tell her a couple of times that what she was doing was hurting, that's definitely not normal for me. There are a few spots around my nails from my prior, darker polish that are still there, visible through my new manicure. My nails weren't all the way dry after she insisted they were, and they immediately got messed up when I reached into my bag to pay. My first experience was great and most of the staff are friendly, but because of this experience, I probably won't be back. read more

The lady really seemed to rush through every step. I asked her to fix my thumb after she filed it because the nail was shaped assymetrically. I think she made it worse , potentially due to a language barrier. And she also filed the top surface of my nails... not sure why, my nails are smooth since I haven't had a manicure for a while. My friend wanted a french mani and a regular pedi, but ended up with a gel pedi... communication error again. No mini massage after our nails were done. I asked for 2 gold horizontal stripes on my ring fingers. The stripes were more not horizontal, they were slightly diagonal. And they are higher on the left finger than the right. I hate giving poor reviews, but I could not wait for this manicure to end. Went for a walk-in gel manicure. The manicurist I had was not a pleasant time. I have never had a painful manicure before. She was so aggressive scraping off my prior gel manicure and also kept scraping not only my nails but the skin around as well. She would physically grab and twist my hands and seemed annoyed when I didn't immediately have my hands in the right picture. Perhaps there are better manicurists there but I am never going back to find out. read more

CLEANLINESS- super clean! When it comes to any places that administer beauty services, I am extremely picky about how I assess the cleanliness. This salon passes my benchmark- clean floors, nail stations, doesn't smell like anything besides nail polish [i've been to some salons that smell like wet rags- this place isn't like that] 2. Nice Staff- The staff is kind and speak English. They will understand your requests and they are SKILLED. I never have to worry about unevenly cut or jagged nails + they give AWESOME hand massages during your manicure. The staff also isn't pushy about adding services that you don't want. The experience is relaxing- 100%. 3. Color Selection- This salon literally has every color you can imagine- both gel and regular nail polish. Whether it's glitter, some metallic color, a natural neutral, or some seasonal color- they have it!! I highly recommend this nail salon to everybody. Complained about it and they had the worst attitude and denied doing it. This place is unsanitary and smelled very badly of the chemicals. Having spent a bit of time during college summers working at nail salons, I've learned that its a humbling job... but also, that I'm really really picky with my nails. In my head: Can't they see that bubble??? This is NOT square... Is she cutting my cuticles, or pretending to cut them. I am the worst. However, Nails & Stuff is awesome! Even though I live in queens, I plan my city dates around my nail schedule to make sure I go here, and only here. Most of the ladies are great, very nice, and have a good eye! Their prices are also super reasonable for the city, it's clean, cute decor and minimal yelling in native languages. I've been going for my usual gel manicure ($30) and since I am there semi-often, the owner is very thoughtful. I walked in at 6:45pm on a 7:00pm close (didn't know!) and two ladies stayed... Though I offered to pay first and come back the next day, they didn't make me feel rushed or pressured. Also got a new years calendar haha. This is random but... on a Friday, maybe last summer, the owner was pouring glasses of white wine for every one. Very cute and fun. The quality of work may differ a bit depending on who you get, but even still - it is by FAR one of the best best nail places I've found in NYC & Queens. read more
