I'm not one to bash people or speak negative but this one I have to speak up. I'll start by saying honesty is the best policy. When I arrived for my hair appointment, I presented a picture of the hair cut that I selected. The stylist, Rassalyn, confirmed she could cut the style with my current hair length which was past my ear. To my surprise she immediately started cutting or should I say chopping my hair without taking it down gradually. She only looked at the picture twice for a quick glance. I discussed with the stylist prior to that I had experienced some postpartum hair loss so one would assume my hair would have been cut gradually to ensure the style would not be compromised. Unfortunately, towards the middle of the appointment I realized the style she cut was not remotely close to what I presented to her. I would rather have the stylist be honest when I presented her with the picture and just say she was not comfortable cutting the style but instead she proceeded. To add insult to injury she took clippers and cut off my sideburns and cut back my edges. The stylist even took the clippers and cut a high straight line at the nap of my neck; she could have at least cut a "v" line to make it look more feminine. Instead of apologizing and acknowledging what just occurred; I was told that due to me perming my edges( my front baby hairs) a week or two before the appointment the natural curl pattern around the front area of my forehead could not be achieved because a few strands did not curl. The stylist confirmed everywhere else was curled nicely so I don't know why that was an excuse for ruining the haircut/style and cutting my hair 2inches shorter shaving my hair and curling it when I specifically asked for a natural style with NO heat. Rassalyn gave NO explanation for that error either. I am now left with an uneven and choppy haircut. I am absolutely traumatized and will never step foot in another beauty salon let alone this one. I'd been eyeballing this place for a few months looking for someone that could give me a bad-ass sew in and I regret not coming here sooner. I called on Wednesday morning for an appointment for today and talked to Dorinda who actually ended up installing my sew in. I was honestly shocked that she could squeeze me in so quickly due to my previous salon having a waiting list of almost a week every time I wanted a new style. Once I made my appointment, she sent me pictures of her work and that pretty much sealed the deal. When I arrived to the salon, she greeted me at the door and began on my hair. She gave me tips and pointers on how to keep my hair in its healthiest state and to keep the knots and tangles down. Before she started my install, she asked me how I'd like my part, if the braids were too tight, etc. As she started the install, I knew I was going to love it. This review is so overdue. Ms.Rassalyn is the best. I pick a style I did not know anything about. To make a long story short. It was so beautiful, but with in a week it was a hot mess. I call Ms. Rassalyn and she ask me what was wrong. She then welcome me to come in on a day she did not work to make sure correction was done. When I arrive we went over details on what I really needed. And i end up getting what she requested at first. She was not upset . I walk out so happy and still happy. When something like this happens most people would have a nasty attitude and they just don't care. Ms. Rassalyn customer service on point she went above and beyond . I will be back. I love this hair salon. Rozz the owner is very knowledgeable about hair care. I been going to her for 4 years and I'm extremely satisfied with her work. She listens to her clients concerns and she understands that not all hair is the same. Before going to this business I had extremely bad experiences with other salons. They either leave your hair with lumps, uneven cuts or they sew in your hair and can't style. Rozz and her stylist all treat you very professional and I like the atmosphere. My hair has grown tremendously since being Rozz client and I always get very good service. If you need braids, cuts, specialty weaves or treatment for damaged hair. They are excellent at all services for all races. For those who want their eyebrows or eyelashes done.., Javon is the King of his trade. Don't settle for less when you can get so much more. OH MG. This woman has talent! Rasslyn is an amazing woman and stylist. Yesterday was the 3rd time she has done my hair. Each time I thought "this is the best my hair has EVER looked!" I drive across the city, just to see her; and it is worth every mile. My color is just beautiful and this is with just telling her what I didn't want, a stark contrast with my grey, or it to turn red. My hair is dark brown and most colors I've tried turn a horrible shade of red after a while. Mom called it menopause red. Anyway... Rasslyn took me lighter than I've ever been and I LOVE it. My husband, friends, family and even strangers love it. The cut she gave me is awesome too. It looks great straightened or curly. It moves more and feels good. I was walking down Main, looking for a place to trim my shaggy locks during my business trip; the staff was so friendly and welcoming and was able to accommodate my last minute visit. Have followed Rassalyn and have only once in all the time going to her have allowed someone else touch myself (I regretted that). I drive approx 1 hr for her services only. She did my wedding party's hair (traveled to Myrtle beach) and has done my daughters hair since age 7. I can walk into her salon with no idea of what I'm looking for and just let work her magic. Not once have I ever walked out unsatisfied. If EVEVR I had an issue she was a phone call away (day or night) or would see me as soon as possible to rectify the problem. Ras is a life saver. I recently went natural using the 'system' which is fantastic for those looking to transition from a relaxer. I tried to blow out my own hair last night (Sunday) and it was a disaster. I just really didn't know what I was doing. I texted Ras and she told me to come in first thing Monday morning so that I could still get to work. It was her day off. I found this salon by suffering the web because I wanted to try microlinks. I stopped by one evening to look around and Roz the owner provided consultation for me as a walk-in. I was excited that she agreed to install the links the very next week. Rassalyn is absolutely amazing. I have thin hair and had a sew in from a different salon for the last year and experienced breakage and balding. The weight allowed for too much tension. I went to Rassalyn and she suggested micro links. I wish I would have known about this technique before I did the sew in last year at a different salon. It it much more natural looking and not heavy so less tension especially on my edges. I can wear my hair in a pony tail. This technique requires no braiding, therefore, I can access my scalp. I wish more stylist were trained to do this technique. Rassalyn is always timely. I was in the salon all day at my previous salon. I was in and out Xclusive salon in 3 1/2 hours for a take down, color, and reimplementation of the micro links. The rate charged was very reasonable as well. read more

I cannot say enough great things about my experience at Xclusive Hair Studios! I flew down to Atlanta from Chicago to get my first sew-in done and was very nervous. I consulted with Ros and her staff and told them my main concerns were my hair looking natural, giving my hair a break, and low maintenance upkeep with my gym routine. They recommended the braidless sew in with micro links for the natural look and hair care. I was sat down and treated to a shampoo flight customized to my dry and itchy scalp which was HEAVENLY! My scalp felt so clean and refreshed. When Ros began my extensions, I couldnt believe how quicly she worked and with such precision! My hair was done in no time and she styled and cut it to my liking (and never made any cuts without asking me first and let me watch with a mirror as she cut to relieve my nerves about too much being cut).I loved the style! When I was all done, they gave me directions and recommended products for me to use if I choose to wash and stlye my hair myself instead of going in to a shop for regular wash and styles. It has been two weeks and I love my hair just as much as the day I walked out of the salon. It is very low maintenance and I can wear my hair in high ponytails and many styles without fear of my tracks showing! The hair she picked blends WONDERFULLY with my hair and I have recieved many compliments from friends about how great I look and how they can't believe it is not my real hair. I have worn clip-ins in the past and have had problems with hair tangling and had to carry a brush with me everyewhere. With the hair Ros chose for my style, I only need to style my hair in the morning and go! No brushing and rebrushing all day because this hair does not tangle or shed! I initally got my hair done as a one-time birthday present but am so in love with my style and low maintenance do that I will be back when it is time to get my hair done again! HORRIBLE HORRIBLE !!!! I recently visited this salon and I would NOT recommend this place!!!!! I went to get micro links my scalp was burned badly and I was overcharged by the owner who put in the links so obviously the prices online aren't accurate or I was taking advantage of because I was a new client ..so beware of that!!!! and on top of that she dyed some of the hair ,which after a few days started to turn GREEN!!!!!. I would rather find someone else to take my micro links out or learn to do it MYSELF before I go back and allow her to overcharge me! For mediocre work! read more

I was so EXTREMELY disappointed!! When I arrived, there was no one to greet me and there were clearly stylist in different areas of the salon. Only one unlicensed stylist was working on a client (I know this because I asked her title directly and questioned her certification). There were other stylist in a closed door meeting and yet another stylist just standing around pontificating (very loudly) about her future plans and dreams of doing other things in the hair industry. But at no time was there a real acknowledgement that a new customer had arrived for an afternoon "scheduled" appointment. I waited for 20 mins and then decided to just bounce. Unfortunately, the atmosphere was dark and dank looking. The inside decor looked of poor quality and low budget. There was a bulletin board behind an empty front desk that was decorated like it should have been in a kindergarten classroom. I saw the advertisement on the Jumbotron off Camp Creek Pkwy but the shiny, classy digital Ad does not match the salon in any way. I was expecting to walk into a classy establishment with polished, professional stylist. To the owner: You don't have to spend a lot of money to create sophistication and class. However, you and your entire roster of staff/employees should be prepared to demonstrate those qualities when you know a customer, especially a brand new customer, is on their way to your establishment. This may seem like a harsh review but this was my honest experience. Step up your professional game. There is great potential for your business as downtown College Park is a growing city and will soon be a destination location for those of us on the move. Unfortunately, I had to give my business to the Dominican shop in the area and at this time could not recommend your salon to anyone. But best of luck. read more

I'm new to Atlanta so I chose this salon based on reviews I found online. I had a consultation with the braid stylist because I wanted crochets, they are easy to put in and easy to take care of. She suggested that I should get a quick weave. I had never had one before but she told me it was for the same price and I would have a better look, so I agreed! Due to some scheduling changes by the salon Rassalyn ended up styling my hair. I felt safe with her because I heard more positive things about her than any other stylist. She was very nice and attentive, and the style turned out great, but the aftermath wasn't so great. After two weeks of having the weave I decided to take it out. The weave pieces came out easily, but I had a hard time taking the cap off. I immediately discovered that the cap was glued to the front half of my head, including my hair and scalp. I spent 3 hours gently pulling my hair out of the cap, fearing that I would have to end up cutting my hair just to get the cap off. I not only lost hair through the cap but through glue pieces that I found throughout my hair. I was told that the cap was supposed to protect my head but the quick weave style was a lot more damaging than I was told. The service was excellent, but I will never get a quick weave again. This salon has disappointed me I'm afraid, definitely not what I expected. read more

The salon owner Rassalyn is a crook and wanna be slickster. I scheduled my second appointment directly with Rassalyn and we discussed the fee for a wash and style with a trim on the phone $25 for wash and style and $10 -$15 for trim. Ok, so after the wash Rassalyn applied some tea tree conditioner to my hair. Rassalyn had not discussed with me that this conditioner was special and carried an additional fee, by the way this was the only conditioner she applied to my hair. I am not aware of any salon where a standard shampoo is not followed with a conditioner. Therefore, I had no reason to believe or think that the tea tree conditioner was not her standard conditioner. As I mentioned earlier this was my second visit to this salon. Rassalyn only did a minor trim to my hair she did not style it because, she had scheduled so many clients I was irritated due a slight head cold so, I just wanted to be done with this salon. Eventually, I informed Rassalyn to just wrap my hair because that would allow me a quicker exit. After sitting under the dryer for 45 minutes I went up to the front to pay my bill and her assistant told me my bill was $50. I questioned the amount,since it was not what Rassalyn and I had discussed over the phone. The assistant walked back into the service area where Rassayn was. When the assistant came back to the front of the salon she stated" ok its $45". This amount was still not correct. After about 2 minutes i walked back where Rassalyn was to speak about the incorrect amount. Rasslyn began saying "I know what I quoted you on the phone, but I gave you a tea tree conditioner and that's an additional fee". I politely explained to rassalyn that I would not be paying that charge since we had not agreed to those services, and because she failed to inform me of the service and charge prior to performing the service. Rassalyn became angry by raising her voice and stating " ok ok don't worry about it just $25 for wash and style and $15 for trim". I paid the $40, because I was in fear of my life. If Rassalyn the owner of Xclusive salon is that desperate or hard up for money i feared what may happen to me if I didn't pay or dispute the fee. So, I paid and left the salon not to return again.
