I have been with Xfinity for over 15 years, recently I received a monthly statement for December 2024 that showed a credit on my account. I called Xfinity & I was told that there were several changes I made in November & the credit was reflective from the changes in my account & there was no payment due & my next months bill would be credited. I received January's statement & the amount doubled. I contacted Xfinity the next business day, it took me over 30 minutes to get a real person on the line. The representative was very nice & did all she could but her resolution was not acceptable. I was transferred to manager & all she was going to do was waive the $10 late fee. Both ways I tried to pay online resulted in a 404 error, so I "talked" to the chatbot and finally reached a person. My message was that I would be mailing it in, it would be late, and I did not want a late charge since the problem was with their system. Much to my surprise, I found out the next day that I was put on autopay and a payment had been taken. At no time did I authorize autopay, or agree to the terms of it. It was relatively easy to undo autopay. I would complain to Comcast, but do not want to take the time and risk my account being screwed up another way. They zip tied a large cable line from my pine tree to my maple tree. It's a little over 100 yards long. All of our lines are underground. They weren't available when the lines were reinstalled for the neighborhood. They ran a line from a utility pole across a main road to my pine tree and then they ran it out to my maple tree and dropped it to the ground. They left 50 yards of cable in my yard. I have been trying for a week to get a hold of someone at comast. I have been trying to establish internet service at one of my properties. Online, all I get is that I am unauthorized to make changes to this address. I am the property owner. Then I cannot go any further. You cannot find a phone number. They force their automated bots for you to attempt communication with. It would be better to just put me on the phone with someone who completely doesn't speak my language. You need to put more work in you AI. I have worked in IT and for ISP's that are competitors of Comcast. You really have some work to do. I cannot imagine how tech illiterate people deal with you. My Son/Daughter-in-law are staying with us for several months. They needed their own internet connection for her work. We have been screwing around with Xfinity for two weeks, with them assuring us this would work, and her not being able to work. They finally told us today that they won't "permit" it, because they can't have two separate accounts at the same address. Called Comcast/Xfinity on 7/12 Agreed to a new contract for phone and internet of $83 per month and $100 installation charge with automatic payment and set installation day as 7/19. Was told they needed to "test" my bank account and would deduct $25 just to make sure it worked. This $25 was to be part of the $100 installation fee. Deduction of $25 showed on my bank account on 7/13 so I knew it worked. Tech came out 7/19 and set everything up The 1st invoice I received was sent to my email on 8/18 for $264 so I called Comcast and asked where they got that figure from. I spoke with a customer rep named Vanessa. Vanessa told me the 25 was not part of the $100, said $25 was taken out of my bank account and then credited back which wasn't true. I had my bank statement in front of me. Vanessa said I was charged a late fee for non payment of my bill. How can that be when I was set up for direct payment. I told her that this was the 1st invoice I had received and Vanessa said they had an incorrect email address to send invoices to. Shouldn't matter - I had direct payment. Vanessa said I owed for old equipment - I have not had an account since before 2005. I did not owe them any old equipment. Vanessa said I owed a $37 technician fee. Not true - installation was $100 - nothing more Vanessa said I needed to pay $14 for them bringing me the modem when the technician came out plus monthly rental of $14. A delivery fee was never discussed with me when I signed up for this service. I was aware of the $14 monthly rental fee. After an hour on the phone because of being put on hold so many times, I refused to accept any of the above excuses and told Vanessa to cancel my service. She automatically said she would issue a credit to my account so that I only had to pay $158 which was the correct amount that I should have been invoiced for in the 1st place. Why all the games? Amazing. I bet they do this to a lot of customers. Watch out for yourself. If I hadn't called and fought with them or accepted any one of their excuses, they would be getting extra money from me. I am a long-time Comcast customer. Constant interruptions every day all day. Always on hold for long periods of time. Never had one problem resolved to my satisfaction. Every time I call in the first thing they want to do is reset my modem. I would tell them they should work all the time why do they need to be reset? Of course, they cannot give me an answer. This morning the screen went blank and a message came up on the screen telling me they had to interrupt the program for a few minutes to fix something. It took about 5 minutes but I missed what I wanted to see. Why can't they do this during the early morning hours? When they talked my dad into putting in a phone line I called to tell them he does not have the faculties to make that decision and asked to hear the recording of that call. By law, I am sure if they record you they have to let you hear it. They said they could not find it!! I think that was a load of horse hockey and mule muffins. The reason I called and asked to hear that recording was because after the technician that installed the phone line left the PHONES DID NOT WORK! Why, you ask they did not work. Terrible customer service! Don't deal with them unless you have no alternative! Like many Pittsburghers, I'm stuck with Comcast because they have a contract on my apt. building. (This is called a monopoly, by the way!) Otherwise, I'd probably deal with Verizon. While I've heard their customer service can also be dicey at times, I don't think it's as consistently horrible as Comcast's. Last week, I had a billing issue that needed to be resolved over the phone. If you think they're swifter in the billing dept., think again! I sat on hold for 20 min. before talking to a live operator, and then I was transferred, after which I sat on the phone another 5 min. When I finally talked to someone in billing, they were helpful, and resolved the problem within 5 min. This begs the question, why in tarnation did I just sit on the phone waiting for 25 min.? Based on my other experiences, this is par for the course, to the point that I refuse to call them unless absolutely necessary. They do have an online chat service, which I recommend over their "customer service" line. In the past, I had an issue with one of their techs, who showed up earlier than the beginning of the time window stated, despite that I chose that time window to coincide with when I left work. (Note: this was one of Comcast's own techs.) I had to rush home from work to let the tech in and avoid being charged for a no-show. This tech, who installed my service, was totally incompetent, and couldn't get my router to work with the modem he provided, even after 45 min. of trying. My friend, a computer scientist, was able to get them to work together in about 5 min. When I moved apartments and had to get the service reinstalled, the tech who came that time, who was with a subcontractor (ACI), was great--he showed up on time and got the modem and router to work together within about 15 min. If you have to sign up for a plan with them, be sure to read the fine print. Like anther reviewer, I signed up for a plan that started at $30/month, and then increased after 6 mos., and again after 1 yr. I knew this when I signed up, so I asked the representative who I dealt with if there was any penalty for downgrading to a less expensive plan with lower bandwidth, and she said there wasn't. As the end of my first year of service approached, I asked to be downgraded so that I wouldn't have to pay more than double the starting rate, and this was done without a problem. Now I pay "only" $50/month for about half as much bandwidth as I had to begin with. Fortunately, I'm not a Netflix consumer--otherwise, I'd probably be frustrated to no end. I don't have cable, so I can't personally speak to picture quality, etc. However, my parents, who used to have Comcast, switched to FIOS about 5 years ago and have been pretty happy with the service, and haven't looked back. I'm sure I would have done so by now, too, if I had any choice in the matter! read more

Worse customer service I have ever had in my life, it gives me anxiety just thinking about it. Spent over a hour on the phone dealing with a situation that could have been resolved in minutes. I called in because I paid for a weeks worth of hotspot service which cost me $19.95. When I tried to use the wifi it would not allow me to log in, although Xfinity had already charged my account. I contacted them to either get a refund or get the issue resolved and proceeded to be transferred around several times, hung up on and transferred to departments that didn't exist. When I finally got to the right person, I was told there was nothing that could be done and I would just have to wait to see if the charge came off of the account. Also, if I (press 1 for English) that's what I expect to get. It is not only frustrating for me as the client but also as the employee who is trying their hardest to resolve a issue but they have to transfer me because there is a communication barrier between us. To me it's the companies fault not the representative instead of trying to be greedy put some effort in your customer service and maybe offer some continuing education classes in English... free of charge of course. read more

Calling Comcast and making them understand your question, issue or complaint will take up hours. Make sure to take a day off work and block out your schedule to resolve a Comcast issue. We did want to pay the rental router fee so we ordered one online with no issue. When hubby drove in person to the Penn Hills retail location, HUGE trouble ensued. Not only would the manager there NOT understand the scope of what we wanted to do, she was rude and gave us unnecessary tasks to do as a customer. It just so happens the router we ordered online belonged to an obsolete account and the manager there had US contact the seller online to cancel his service (it already was). Not only would she not take back the Comcast router, she also didn't know there was a way to use a non-Comcast router, which is completely possible. These giant cable/internet providers need to be beat down by the healthy competition of faster and better fiber optic networks so customers do not have to suffer through these time-consuming customer service nightmares. I have made my legal disclaimer; You are free to form your own opinion... BUT, here is my thought about Comcast today. A few months ago we had problems with disruptive internet service. In the middle of the woods, at the bottom of a steep hill, we have very limited cell phone service. Vonage home phone service was through Comcast, our internet service provider. Called Comcast. Intelligent automated, then personal response. Service tech showed up on-time. Checked a few things. Replaced some connectors at the house and off the pole. Random problems were still there a couple of days later. Called again. Upgrade in the problem status. Different tech. He came back in a day with a crew and replaced the line running underground from the pole drop to our home entry. Later another tech came by and buried the line underground in a very clean, undisturbed manner. Since the line was replaced, there have been absolutely no problems. Why was this fixed promptly without hassle? Here's my opinion: I was polite to everyone I had contact with. Comcast Customer Service really has improved. This was not a confrontational experience. Hello, I was really disappointed with the Xfinity service. It takes hours to get online/phone support. Agents would promise you to do certain things but never do it. Very unreliable! Hidden costs. I recently moved to a different state and they increased my bill twice by adding things that you don't need. They also charged me one-time charges for the connection twice. As usually promised to remove and didn't do it. There are so many cheap and more reliable providers around.
