Not only are they attempting to charge me for service never requested and never received, they turned me into a collection agency which affected my credit score. When I disputed the charge it was removed the same day without question. 2 days ago another collection agency called on the exact same issue. I disputed it with them, and since the xfinity agent assured me the charge no longer existed after the last go around, I spent HOURS on the phone trying to fix this. Still no joy. Horrendous. The worst company I can think of where customer service is concerned. They think we forgot they are Comcast with a different name, but we did not forget. I'm sad enough to have used Comcast/Xfinity for the better part of the last 25 years due to the locations where I lived and their monopoly in those areas. I just left for Quantum Fiber which is way faster and $50 per month. About every quarter Comcast/Xfinity would suddenly raise my price with no warning, on average 40 per month and kick me off of autopsy for no reason other than for me to incur fees. I would then spend hours fighting with them to get it reduced to where it was before ($70), only to have them raise it again without warning and the cycle would start over. Their chat service should be studied in business classes to determine what to NEVER do unless you want to chronically impair and devalue your brand. Their brand reputation is absolutely in the toilet bowl. It's an endless cycle of being passed from agent to agent, explaining your issue (which because they refer to it, you know they have it right in front of them), until the chat suddenly "disconnects" and you have to start over again. Their respect for customers is less than zero. Since we finally have fiber available in my area, after the last customer service abuse from them I switched over. I had it installed 2 days after I first contacted the company and the first thing the service person said was: Are you as happy as the rest of my clients to leave Comcast? I assured him I was and we high five. I then called Comcast to cancel my service and I got this shameful, smarmy used car salesman type of man trying to talk me into staying and offering me "deals" they didn't bother to offer or honor before when I was still a customer. One deal after another, lower and lower, totally ignoring that I was saying the fiber is already installed and I'm already using it. My advice is to dump them the second you are able. Summary: Don't use Xfinity for internet. They treat you horribly. I found a much better rate with T-Mobile ($40 promotion), who promised in writing to never raise my rates. Before that, Xfinity raised my internet cost from $55 a month to $95 without informing me. I didn't know for several months, due to depression that makes it hard to do anything. Called to ask for a one-time refund of $95. l explained why. The nice agent said he'd refund me $95. He knew that I was going to cancel and he still said that. BUT his supervisor said you can't do that. So now they're going back on their word. Spoke to Retention. No help, AND they tried to sell me internet!! Twice. I am so disgusted. They have permanently lost a 30-year customer. If you want a refund, don't waste your time talking to Retention. Ask for the Refunds Dept. I did that today. The gentlemen picked up. I explained my situation. The line went silent. Then it was hung up. This was my second attempt to get a mere $95 refund. I AM DONE!!! Now they say that the $55 rate was a 1-year promotion and that after a year it would be raised to $95 a month!!!!! I didn't know. More detail, for anyone interested: Had I known it was a one-year discount, I would have put a note in my phone to ding me to alert me before the promotion expired. Then I'd call to get another discount. I am DILIGENT about that. I feel that $95 a month for internet for one person is disgustingly high. Or I probably would have just gone to a cheaper company! I have clinical depression that is sometimes pretty severe. As a result, I didn't check my credit card statement for several months (bad, I know). It will certainly come as no surprise to anyone that a cable provider has intentionally poor service, but my recent interaction with their voice jail system was so laughably ineffective, that my healing process demands a public rant. Their system- and it's incompetent, hostile AI - attempt from the very beginning to get you off the phone as quickly as possible before actually inconveniencing any of the cadre of incompetent support folk they pretend to have available to help you. Because I did not know the magical incantation of keywords necessary to be attached to a living (presumably thinking, though that is debatable), breathing human, I was disconnected SEVEN times while trying to get a service issue resolved. I then tried using their mobile app, and was finally able to connect to a (presumably) real person via their chat feature, but once again, he quickly disconnected my call when I explained what I needed, and he did not know how to do that (I was updating my modem to a newer device, and needed customer support to acknowledge this hardware change). The entire process ended in failure and frustration. I will pause, take a deep breath and try again in a few days, but the glaring lack of care for its customers should be a source of deep, embarrassing shame for Xfinity. If I attempted to run even the most minor aspect of my life with the glaring indifference to others reflected in their 'support' model, I would be painted a sociopath. How odd, that corporate excursions into sociopathic behavior are considered the norm. read more

I have had a horrible experience with returning a brand new phone. Confusion on if it was damaged when returned and then being charged $862.50 without my permission. The worst company on earth. The customer service reps barely speak English and are trained to upsell you when you request the most basic service. I thought I had signed up for the cheapest plan and then somehow ended up being charged $160 per month. I have never in my internet life had to deal with such a disorganized, disjointed and shady company. You get promised one thing, then they change it and say that's what you ordered and of course, the thing you were given doesn't actually exist, or was only a short time period, even though you were told it was permanent. I have spent more time in chat with them than my family. I won't even call anymore because I can't understand their reps. I will never understand a company outsourcing their customer service to a country that doesn't speak English. Is this a joke? I have no problem with people from anywhere in the world having jobs, but if you're going to be speaking to native English speakers, you should at least have command of the English language. It should not be my job to constantly say "sorry, what did you say?" This last chat I was in lasted over 90 minutes. I was transferred numerous times (most for no reason whatsoever) and I still ended up nowhere. I went through the trouble of moving my cellphone service from Cricket, who were always amazing to me, to this sad excuse for a company because they said I could get the same plan (unlimited... again... UNLIMITED) for only $17 a month. Half of what I was paying. I asked several times if they meant it, was that really the price. Of course it was! [not] So I move my service to save money. The service was fine. Not complaining about that. My phone worked. But time went on and a few months ago I started getting emails warning me about getting close to my data limit. At first I thought they were talking about my internet. Odd, I thought, didn't know I had a limit on my internet. Turns out it was about my phone. I spent the next day in chat with several agents (again) explaining that I should not be getting warning because I was on the unlimited plan. The agent apologized (they do that CONSTANTLY and that irritates me to the point of rage) and he swore to me that it was fixed. That I was back to my unlimited plan for the (now) $18. So I get my monthly email today and I was charged $49. Hence the 90 minute charade of a customer support experience. I was a customer with Comcast (Xfinity) for 20 years! I moved to a part of the city that doesn't offer Xfinity so I cancelled. They made sure to make it impossible to cancel. Offered me Internet for 80 bucks even though I couldn't even use it. For all of those years I was never on auto pay, and after a few weeks of cancelling they took the bill out of my account without permission! They really did me dirty after being with them longer than most marriages! I don't leave reviews however I feel so terrible about how I was treated that Its my responsibility to warn others. Please go anywhere but Xfinity. They charged me for services that wasnt active and I couldn't get one person on the phone to take accountability for signing me up for auto pay without permission. I was switched from one customer service to another for an hour until I hung up I went through my bank to get my money back. I'm now on t mobile internet and I love it . I spent two days trying to get through Xfinity's "automated phone tree" to ask a simple question about the DVR service. When I finally did (thanks to lying to the robot, who refused to give me a human when I was honest about the reason for my call), I was finally told that DVR recordings made on my living room TV box before I got a Roku in the guest room could not be viewed on the Roku (nor, I was told could the new recordings be viewed there, which is a lie; I had already done that). During a previous call last month, I had asked how I could view TV back there (I had been previously told I would not need another TV box) and was lied to then; the "technician" told me I had to have an Apple TV to do that. I later found that Roku and Amazon Fire TV both work for that purpose. If it were possible to give a negative rating to Xfinity "support" I would do so. Their employees are foreigners who are unable to tell anything that's not in their scripts, and they apparently have no training on their "supported" systems. read more

I was told by the Loyalty guy that moving is going to cost me more than setting up a new account. He transferred me to new accounts. The guy I got was finally helpful and we, by playing with which packages, got my account charge to $179.89/month, but uh oh, someone named Eric Jensen had my "new " account in his name. So off to speak with him. He basically lies to me and tells me that we can't get that $179.89/month and that we'll have to settle for $239.84 and if I sign up for their auto pay I can get $229.84. I asked him about the other quote - he told me that guy was "confused". He also tells me that there is no difference between moving and new service (which is BS) and that there's nothing he can do. I asked to have my account removed from his name and he refused. I then told them we'll be going with another provider at our new location. To be free of the BS Customer Service and Lies and increasing fees. After 10 years we are currently paying $465/month for a horrible 200Mbps connection - they've been screwing us for years. A warning about guaranteed cable contract pricing. We signed up for a two year price guarantee with a one year contract in October. In January our billing increased. This review is for Xfinity Mobile. The only positive I'll say is the coverage is decent, but no where near AT&T who was my last provider. I switched only because of the money saved on the bundle with Wifi. The sales rep openly lied to me about being able to go back to my old phone after they sent me a Moto 5G if I didn't like it. It's a terrible phone that can barely run with one app open. Numerous conversations later, they refuse to fix it. They want me to purchase a phone through them and sign a new contract. Most of the reps have limited English and no reading comprehension. I got an email today that stated I've reached my 20GB and that my data speeds will be reduced. It's supposed to be unlimited. Stay clear or.... due major due diligence before you switch. I switched service to another company, I also have Xfinity Mobile, and after changing Internet service, with no customer service agent telling me About the charges, they are now going to charge me $25 per line on my phone service because I no longer have their Internet.
