But I do need to point out some glaring details about this project as a note to myself more than anyone else before hiring this company. I first reached out to them in November last year and Manuel responded back very promptly using the odd messaging system Yelp uses. We traded a few messages, and Justin came out not long after to do a survey on the broken window in the bathroom which looked like it had been hit with a BB or a bullet. He gave me an estimate on replacing that window but pointed out that a lot of my other windows either had a lot of condensation build-up and/or mold beginning to grow out of the dampness. I ended up making the executive call to replace them all. It was a perfectly enjoyable hour or two discussing and then finishing up paperwork. He said he'd be in touch in about 4 - 6 weeks and left. That's where communication on an unprompted basis ended. I waited for almost 2 months before I picked up on the old Yelp thread because no one ever reached out during that period. Manuel told me twice he'd get back to me, but he never did. Someone named Skylar called me and told me Manuel had left on family leave. What kind of professional leaves his customers without notifying them that they are being handed to another representative? Then Skylar handed me off to Luke and despite my request to give me a heads up so I could let my work know if I needed to be home, he never confirmed anything. A third party delivery service showed up while I was sleeping and I had to clear out my garage so they had room. Then half an hour later Alex and his team showed up to start installing. I'm lucky my job was flexible enough to take me not coming in that week, but for other customers, do they have that kind of agility? It took them two days total to do the main job and then finish. After that Alex showed me the work and I signed a paper that he said was more for his team (I do a lot of projects for work and I'm pretty sure they were contractors for ASW). After that Luke said he had to do a walk for job completion that was never followed up on. I called him as promised and he said he'd get back to me, but he didn't. Then came the Docusign asking me to verify the job walk was done. I didn't sign it, thinking he had to do his walk. This was a $20k job. This is the first house I've ever owned. I wanted to be sure. He then said the job walk was done and I signed off on the work which meant the paper I signed with Alex was the final sign off, but he could have just explained this and saved us an email thread. One final laughable detail is his email to me didn't have an attachment, so his marketing team had to send me the photo he referenced to verify I signed. All in all, this whole process left me feeling like I was an inconvenience to them rather than a customer. The plus side: The windows look great. They reduce outside temperature and noise at a noticeable level. But ASW is just the coordinator. Other companies manufacture the windows, deliver them and install them. The one thing they should excel at is communication with the customer, but they decidedly don't.

They resided my entire house (after another company did an awful job that resulted in water damage) and replaced several windows and installed a cedar soffit. Communication could use improvement, and I would not recommend them to replace any exterior doors (their bid was insanely high). There were a few issues along the way (damaged meter box, dented gutter) that I wish would have been brought to my attention, but everything was addressed and in the end the crew went above and beyond to make me happy. They did an excellent job installing a beautiful cedar soffit, which is now my favorite part of my house.

If we had fewer than 20 windows to replace, I would not be aware of these problems. I suspect that this is the case with the customers who left positive reviews for Serenity Windows. We also had Serenity's work inspected by 3 separate companies. All 3 companies came to the same conclusion: the work is done incorrectly and definitely not by manufacturers' specifications. Stay away from Serenity Windows: they will charge you for correct installation but will do a horrible job that will destroy your house, if left uncorrected. There are reputable exterior remodel and window installation companies. Some of them will give you up to 30 year warranty; use these reputable companies. In my opinion, Serenity is highly unethical, dishonest and incompetent operation. They lied to me about everything. I initially signed a contract with another company. After the windows were ordered, I learned that several windows were incorrectly ordered and that the work would be done by a random subcontractor. We terminated contract on mutually agreed terms with the help of the attorneys before any work was done. I was open with DJ and Hannah why I terminated the contract with the other company. Serenity assured me they have Milgard trained and certified installers and that Milgard asks them to fix problems caused by other installers (this is a lie). They assured me that the work will be done according to manufacturers' specification, as required by our contract. After 20 windows, I started to suspect that Serenity has no clue what they are doing, but DJ and Hannah told me to trust them. Initially, I trusted them as I did not expect a contractor to be so untrustworthy. Also, I did not think that any REASONABLE contractor would be so unwise as to clearly breach the contract by not installing the windows per manufacturers' specification, as required by our contract. I finally called Milgard and our building inspector. I found out that Serenity is not Milgard certified. I got installation instructions and forwarded to Serenity, but they chose to ignore the instructions. Only after I forwarded email from the building inspector stating that Serenity is installing windows incorrectly, DJ admitted that they are doing this wrong. DJ also told me that if they fix this step, the installation would be up to manufacturers' specifications. This is another lie. I did not know about multiple additional problems until 3 reputable window replacement companies examined Serenity's work. DJ also lied about repairing dry rot around the windows and charged me for it. We just removed the trim and dry rot is still there. They damaged window frames by incorrectly placing screws. They lied to me about properly placed "flashing". This tiny piece of metal (1-1.5in when it should be 4-6 in) was sitting behind the siding on all of the windows that we have exposed so far (not behind the house wrap, as it should be). There are multiple other problems, but I have only a limited number of words that I can use in a review. I almost called the police on DJ on March 16, 2026. I told him that his work needs to be taken apart and redone as they left my house open to water damage and pest intrusion and I would be withholding $400 (I was going to withhold the 2nd half of the payment, $26125, until the work is corrected, but they charged my credit card for $26125 even after I told them in writing to remove my card from their files and never charge it). However, DJ stopped the installation of the last window and started threatening me. At that point I was done trying to work with Serenity and was ready to call 911, but he left. Check Woods General Contracting, their most recent adventure (before Serenity). Low volume production (2014-2020). Even with that low volume and short time in business, they managed to get 2 CCB complaints and 1 disciplinary action from CCB. In April of 2020, they decided to rebrand themselves as Serenity Windows: no building inspections to deal with; after the trim is on, most homeowners will leave the windows alone until there is a huge problem with dry rot. By the time you discover dry rot, Serenity's 1 or 2-year warranty will expire. We are in the process of fixing their damage and dealing with unauthorized credit card charges. We will be sending them a bill for repairs.

This was a "discounted" price but we've been very happy with them since. I even gave them a 5-star review post installation. The quality of their product and the skill of their crew couldn't have been better. We were told at the time of the sale in January of the same year, "iyou ever need repair, adjustment or replacements of our windows, screens or sliders for as long as we owned our home to just call." We even have that promise in writing. Jump ahead to early this year. We have an issue with the downstairs slider. It has stopped being easy to open so I called RBA to please call me as I explained the problem on their voicemail system. As of this date, I have not received any callbacks. I even tried prompting them with the the possibility of me writing a review/complaint on Yelp and posting it on Facebook. Crickets. Still no call after almost two months. Last year, I told my brother-in-law to use RBA for their new replacement widows which he has since ordered yet to be installed. You would think they would put 1+1 together and give me a call. Nope!

The problem started when they began calling me nonstop every single day, early in the morning, to the point where I had to block their number. I still didn't give up. I had my personal assistant call them to schedule an appointment on my behalf, but they refused. They said I personally had to call and give approval before she could set it up. I'm a busy man, which is exactly why I asked my assistant to handle it. My assistant still didn't give up. She went directly to their website and successfully scheduled an appointment that was supposed to take place today. Yesterday, I received a text message saying they were trying to reach me to confirm the appointment. I replied and confirmed it. Now, this morning, I'm receiving another text message saying they were unable to confirm the appointment, so they canceled it and are telling me that if I want to reschedule, I have to call them. Total waste of my time and energy taking my business elsewhere
