Xfinity(comcast) is my internet provider. for whatever reason, internet was blocked by a "log in" page which i never encountered before. my backup computer was fine, able to log in. lst is wifi, 2nd had a direct line hookup from the router. customer support just ignored the "log in" issue, telling me twice to plug and unplug my modem. didn't work so they scheduled a technician to come out. i reached out to my tech wiz son who diagnosed my problem and got me logged onto the net. seems Xfinity tech support is just bullshit. they lack adequate training beyond plug and unplug. This review applies specifically to the Xfinity Store in Federal Way, WA Visit this store at your own financial peril (IMHO). I say that cuz I went to the Federal Way Xfinity Store on 2/6/24 to get a new set top box and register my new Internet modem. The agent was friendly, did what was needed, and suggested that my family move our Verizon service to Xfinity mobile, claiming we could save lots of $$$. We discussed the matter, I gave him some information , he sent a text message and told me I needed to click the link in the message. The messaging around the link does NOT provide any sort of warning that selecting it will incur activation fees and/or that clicking the link constitutes approval to move our phone service. Prior to clicking the link, I told the Xfinity agent the Verizon account was in my wife's name and that she and I would need to discuss the matter before moving the accounts over. He stated - verbally committed in fact - he would NOT move the accounts over until today but he made NO comment about incurring an activation fee just by clicking the link. I called 2x the morning of 2/7 and left voicemails stating that we decided NOT to move from Verizon to Xfinity... Voicemails were left cuz the Sales agent didn't answer his phone, nor did he call me back to confirm our that our numbers weren't moved. I went to the store to get the confirmation and what I got was the run around, along with being told I had to go to Verizon to move my numbers back. Went to Verizon and they told me the numbers were never ported to Xfinity so all was good... except the Xfinity store could and should have just told me that at the Xfinity store!!!! Seems like the Xfinity Store people were jerking me around because I cancelled the service before it could be fully implemented. Very typical bulls__t for Xfinity customer service. Went back to Xfinity to ensure they cancelled my mobility phone service. Turns out they had NOT cancelled the 5 phone lines (maybe so they could charge me for a month of service we never used ??? I wouldn't put it past them!!) so I directed them do that and I waited at the store to get verbal confirmation in front of other witnesses and store staff in case this becomes a legal issue. I say that because the female "manager" smugly informed me the lines were cancelled but that I will have to pay a $10 activation fee for each of the 5 lines that were NEVER used by the phone numbers that were NEVER ported over. I informed her I will not pay the fees because I got zero use out of the service, was NOT informed of the activation fee, did NOT sign anything agreeing to an activation charge, and was not told by the agent that clicking the link he TOLD me to click constitutes agreement to activation charges. I would NOT have clicked ANYTHING cuz I told him up front that I needed to discuss with my wife. So... Due your own due diligence before going into this store for anything besides getting and returning a TV set top box!! read more

I had the most horrible experience with Comcast Xfinity Cable. I am in a senior apartment complex, and Comcast is all they offer. When I moved in recently, they did fine with getting me connected. Then shortly after Comcast removed two channels that were in my initial package to begin with. I called them, after a struggle to get to a real person, all their agents are in India, the middle east, or China and are are barely have knowledge of english, I could hardly communicate even though I have good hearing and clear speech. I was informed that there was no one in the US I could speak to. I indicated that I would purchase the next package up to get my desired channels. Then the next step was to get the additional package installed. I did tell them I was on a bulk account and they said no problem. The first man I spoke to had no idea how to install it, he had me giving him numbers on my cable box and having me turn it off and on etc. That did not work. The next one I called had my trying some other things, and that didn't work. So then she offered to have a technician come to my place to see what was needed. That guy was really nice, but he was newly here from Brazil and he hardly spoke english. He tried a couple of things and then he was trying over and over to call in to Comcast to get instructions, no luck. Finally I called a fellow in our managment office, and he knew what to do (!) He told the technician that all he had to do is install a new cable box that had the additional cable package on it! So the technician said "oh, I'll go down to my truck and get it" how is it he didn't know that in the first place! So, let me warn you, Comcast has horrible customer service and technicians that have no idea what they are doing. read more

was supposed to be reimbursed for a charge on my account for unreturned equipment because I NEVER had equipment. I have spoken to now 5 people about this issue and was just charged AGAIN for the unreturned equipment after an investigation had determined that I did not have any equipment. The last person I spoke to told me I would be sent a check in the mail for the overpayment and it has not been received and I received another text saying I am being charged for equipment. The customer service reps are actually quite nice and do their best. It's the company that fails. The prices keep going up, higher than my 3 car insurance which is saying something though my mortgage is still higher...for now. The last couple of years they've removed channels we liked, TCM, CMT and others. Worse they removed the off option for screen saver which means if you've paused shows and then not paused for hours while working around your house and miss the warning that it's going off it loses everything you've saved. They must be saving money as people have complained for a lot of very good reasons...and they're customers paying over $200 a month for tv service which won't stay on! If someone wants there tv to stay on 24/7 they should have that option for the disabled, pets home alone, background noise to sleep, etc. read more

The Xfinity service reps that came out were not professional. It took them three visits over 2 weeks to get service set up at our house in Queen Anne. The first guy spent 6 hours setting up the wiring, but got it wrong, leaving a huge mess all over the house with cut cable ends and broken pieces of plastic on the floor while leaving all the panels open. The second team that came out a week later couldn't figure it out and told the office that they couldn't connect the Internet because my girlfriend had to go to work, which wasn't right, and they up-sold my girlfriend on a modem rental that we don't need because we already have our own equipment. The third rep that came out finally got things working but said that he could only connect one network port in the house, which has Cat 5 ports in 5 different rooms, because connecting the other rooms would lower the overall bandwidth we get to the house, which isn't right. Looking for alternatives, it's sadly obvious that residential internet is plagued by bad customer service. read more

Look out. Concast is watching you. I'm stuck in 98144 at an address where the only internet I can get is Comcast. They are censoring everything while actively interfering with my internet and phone connection. I believe they have even committed ID Theft. The WAN ip they assigned me is blacklisted by dnsbl.spfbl.net dnsbl.sorbs.net dul.dnsbl.sorbs.net and when I try to reach Xfinity Support Forums the browser window requires sign in and then just hangs open. When I call in the "reps" are never helpful and sound more like scammers who have intercepted my VOIP line. Technicians just come over, call in to some mysterious office to get my phone and internet activated. I'm paying for wifi without having any smartphone or wifi capable device. My desktop PC acts like a big smartphone now - no privacy and confusing messages from Comcast like "For Diamond Rewards consult the Primary Account Holder" which should be me but clearly isn't. Or, if I try to trouble shoot anything "Xfinity Internet is for Customers Only"...and suddenly my online bank doesn't give me the option to receive an Automated Phone call instead of a text message. EXTREMELY UNRELIABLE internet service in southwest Snohomish County. Frequent internet connectivity outages EVERYDAY. Mostly each outage lasts between 10-20 minutes but some have lasted about 50 minutes. On average, multiple outages probably total of minimum one hour of outages every day. If you Work From Home and rely on Xfinity, then be prepared to be fired from your Employer for missing your deadlines or staff meetings. If you watch sports on TV, then be prepared to miss that last 20 minutes of that exciting game and not know who won. Xfinity upgraded my service for FREE last year without my approval and it's been nothing but crap. Fortunately, I found a more reliable service with a competitor. read more

3 months we tried to bundle phone and internet. They sent locators twice. Took 3 months to figure out cable was still .25 miles away. Not going to happen. In the meantime they ported our phone number anyways without our permission. No internet for 3 days over Thanksgiving and still no land line with our old provider...no one at xfinity has a clue. Paid my monthly bill in full and, at the end of it, turned in the box and requested that the service end. One week or so later, got a bill for one cent! The bill showed the service amounts and fees that would have been required if I had continued service for another month and then subtractions of them due to the service cancellation. Funny thing though - the deleted tax amount showed one cent less than what was shown on the "if continued" tax amount. So now they want me to write a check for one cent or get hit with a $5 late fee. I used to have Xfinity cable and internet for $119/month. Over the course of 2 years, the bill started creeping up. By the end of the contract where Xfinity did not honor the original price, they sent notice that the new bill would be $180 for the same few English channels and slow internet. I cut the cord on cable since I was the only one legally bound to pay whatever Xfinity decided to charge me for 2 years. I decided to do Verizons home internet but noticed some spotty coverage, so I decided to do a back up with Xfinity's $50/month home internet. Xfinity provides No devices, just connects to my modem after a phone call. The wireless service worked a little initally and, now not at all. Once again locked into a year long contract with Xfinity and to leave would cost $110 early termination fee--more free money for Xfinity--even though they provided no devices. Xfinity is not required to provide good service or honor the original price of the contract, but I am bound to pay!@! read more

Internet service is decent overall, though overpriced. We have an outage here and there but it's generally working. Nothing like the advertised speeds, of course. However, we were just forced to update our modem and the new one is also a router that forces you to go through Comcast's awful DNS. Three days of waiting for certs to be updated, being locked out of workplace intranet sites, auth failures to cloud services, and I couldn't take it anymore. It wasn't too hard to figure out you need to enable bridge mode if you're tech savvy, but many of their customers won't be able to do that... And they know this. Should get zero stars for inserting their DNS servers to try to capture their customers' browsing data and then not even be ready to handle minimal traffic. Should get another start deducted for the new "advanced security" capability on the modem which is also not ready for primetime and is likely there to track your usage as well. read more

I pay for 600 Mbps and I usually get around 200. For the past year I been getting some dips down to .9 Mbps. I had Midco for 3 years at 60Mbps before moving to Seattle and never had an issue, it even felt faster. I feel if I pay for 600 it should never be less than half that for a duration of time unless it's an outage/maintenance. read more

I would give a negative rating if I could. The customer service representatives in the Xfinity stores are liars. They will say anything to make a sale. My daughter purchased the new Razr because the customer service rep promised that he would give us a large discount on the price, $8+ per month as opposed to $25 payments. But we see in looking at our account on the website that we have been charged the full amount. In another incident, my husband was purchasing a new phone and was told he would get a discount if we added an additional line that would be removed later. Later they say they can't remove it. As I said, a pack of liars. On top of that, their website is terrible, difficult to navigate. And if you have a package of phone, internet, etc., the right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing. The customer service located in India is also practically useless. When I first set up my device the network would not appear on any of my devices and took about 3 hours of chatting with a representative to even get a connection. After getting the connection the service was absolute garbage. I only have two devices (my pc and my phone) so I figured 200mb was more than enough for streaming and surfing but if I have both connected at the same time neither of them can load anything. They are unable to provide ANY information about this data usage, and claim the little bar graph on their website is the only proof. Anytime on hold if it asks you if it can text you additional info ALWAYS say no. If you say yes it will text you then drop your call saying it's glad it could assist you. The only reason they are still in business in Seattle is they have a monopoly. I spent over an hour with customer service to talk to 5 people. First one hung up, second connected me to the main menu system again, third one transferred me to tech support, fourth said they were working on the issue and would have it fixed in quick time then just transferred me to someone who finally fixed the issue in 2 minutes. There whole customer support system is designed as just a big F U to it's customers. If it all DONT sign up for Xfinity or Comcast or whatever new brand they will rename to instead of actually addressing their problems. read more

We were thinking about getting Xfinity mobile, but the cable service is inconsistent (pixels). The wifi with the newest modem drops and reloads continuously. Have never ben able to watch one netflix, amozon or youtube movie/video un interrupted. Continuously call for help. Tighten cables, move modem. If you do call customer service be ready for minimum of an hour and a half. There has to be something better. read more

I want to give -5 star if I could. The worst worst customer service ever! They just like scammer. I first used comcast (which is Xfinity now) from about 10+ years ago. Maybe in between I do not need to sign for internet myself. Anyway I am already a very loyal customer. I even opened their mobile plan 1 more year ago. Since I need to move I just want to end my plan on the last day of May(5.31.22) which is the day my 1 year contract ends. So I called in on 5/27 to end my service on time, just want to make sure I will not continue service starting 6.1. So far, so good. But what happened later gave me the worst ever experience. Since I know there would be early termination fee if I end earlier, I told the agent in the phone that I just want to end on 5/31. Even if it is safer I can call back again on 5/31 to end it (not make sense thought, but as I remembered they are just so stupid cause last time I need to end the service at one place they asked me to make sure call on that last day.) But the agent on the phone said it is okay to end just 4 days earlier. I doubted so I asked at least 2 times to confirm I won't be charge the early termination fee and he said yes. So I said go ahead and just terminate it. But actually I am totally fine to continue the service on 5/31. Then the drama started. I almost forget the thing cause I was busy with moving and lots of other stuff until one day I received a bill which is higher then my previous monthly bill (I guess since I do not have a 1 year contract so they charged me with a higher price). I was confused so I called them. That was a really bad experience. Since they transferred me several times to different departments until someone said she can help me and let me hold. Waited for about another 20+ mins she hang off. I need to call again. Similar things happened again. Then I tried to live chat online at the same time making a call. Spending a long time finally someone helped me and said it is just a delay and won't be charge me. I said okay. But later I found I was charged. I tried to call them and for the very back experience (similar to above) finally someone said it will be refund to me in 3 weeks. A litter after 3 weeks, I got a refund. But! The amount is a bit less than the extra bill they charged me. I checked it is because they charged me an early termination fee $10. I am not happy with it. I do not know what the hack they are doing all the time. Actually a few bucks does not mean anything to me, I just could not bear with them and this is how such a big company treat their customers? I contacted the live agent. I told agent AXX all the things and he let me hold and said he will help me. Then, he disconnected. I was getting a little angry and connect to live agent again. This time it is BXX. He said he is reading my chats and then told me since my service is already canceled he can't help anything. I told that this is Xfinity agent's fault, they should have the responsibility. BXX just kept on telling me that he can't do anything even his manager said so. I was so unhappy. And I already spend about an hour chatting with them. Once I didn't reply on time, BXX disconnected. But my issue was not resolved. So I tried to connect live agent again. Then it is AXX again. I told him the same thing and he asked me to describe again!!! After I told him he said he can't help cause the service is already cancelled. I complained. Then he suddenly said back on 6/7 I already received a refund credit for $10 termination fee. But I checked all my statement there is nothing like that at all. I also checked all my transection there is nothing like that at all. I am also checking all my transections regularly (that is why I notice this), if there is any weird income I would have noticed. And I received the wrong bill on 6/6, was charged on 6/27, how could there be a refund on 6/7? I have all the records. He is just lying. I confront this and asked what is he saying. He asked me to call some billing team at some office hour. I said I do not have time to call. At that point, the website had some issue and not able to connect.... Isn't this a scammer company? They don't even respect the customer. I asked the agent, if the agent talked me on the phone a plan will be 30 per month and I agreed to start, then they charge me 60 per month and I already have the contract, shouldn't this be the fault of the agent and the company? It is just exactly the same thing. But from their attitude, they seems not care at all. Even I said can I talk to your manager this is not resolved, they just said okay or just say my manger said the same thing. read more

The outages are constant, the equipment is adequate at best (I have complete dead areas in my house despite my new modem- but they'd be happy to sell me some expensive boosters) and getting ahold of an actual customer service agent is near impossible. The chat function is ridiculous, in that there are set questions you can ask, and those questions, aren't helpful. Often when you request a call back, you never receive one and heaven forbid you have to deal with the smug jerk of a service man who came to my home and tried to convince me that the issues were in my head until he tested the WiFi strength himself... I only use their service because there really aren't a lot of choices in my area- but I absolutely hate dealing with them and giving them my money. read more

Wow, I feel bad for all the people who've had bad experiences. I set up new internet service about a year ago, and I have to say, the experience was remarkably smooth. All the people I dealt with were responsive and professional, and I thought did a great job. My service has been good throughout this time. A couple of days ago we had a major service outage here on Whidbey Island. All phone and internet services were down for about 12 hours. I still don't know what happened, but as soon as the problem was fixed, I started receiving texts from Xfinity asking me to confirm if my service was restored and letting me know I could request a credit for the down time (which I did). Sometimes unforeseen things happen. It helps to keep calm and give people a chance to do their jobs. I know most of them are really trying to help. read more

Horrible people on the line. Heavy accent can't understand a word. Talked on the phone with customer service and they charged me $100 for sending me signal because I didn't have signal. From January to May I was charged 3 times $100 just for nothing, internet gets disconnected and it's not my problem and for fixing the problem they are charging $100. Once I was on the phone and I said i can't understand what you say because of the accent and I tried really hard to understood but I couldn't, and this guy hangs on me and changed my password I was instantly informed thru my email and my phone, Can you imagine having the guts to play with your personal information.
