Today I stopped by the Madison & Date location in Sacramento, and it was by far the worst experience I've had in my 10 years and 7 months as a loyal T-Mobile customer. The representative, Tay, was unhelpful from the beginning. He first claimed there was "no such thing" as a First Responder Discount -- despite the fact that I've used it for years. I showed him my driver's license, EMT license, and paystub as proof of employment, and asked if he could manually verify and update the system since nothing has changed with my job in over 3 years. It was clear he didn't know what he was doing, so I politely asked if he could get a supervisor or someone with more knowledge. He ignored my request, offered no effort to escalate, and finally told me: "You don't qualify, and there's nothing I can help with." On my way home, I called 611. The representative over the phone was the exact opposite -- professional, knowledgeable, and kind. She quickly confirmed my information and extended my discount for another year. I give 5 stars to T-Mobile phone support, but zero stars to the Madison & Date location. T-Mobile, I've stayed with you for more than a decade because of your service and support, but this is the first time I've ever felt dismissed and dumped by your in-store staff.
