Comcast is a wretched company. The actual product they sell (TV/Internet/Phone service) is decent but their customer service and overall operations are so deplorable that it cancels out the few positives they may have. It infuriates me to know that they earn more revenue than google (!) and unreasonably high profit margins only because they are our modern day monopoly and no matter how much you hate them you may just have to stick it out if you are as addicted to cable as I am . Satellite forces you to sign two year contracts and becomes an issue if you are staying in an apt that doesn't face the right direction but AT&T U-verse may now be my savior! I'm sure that there are people out there who may have had great experiences or at least positive experiences but I'm telling you right now, the moment something funny shows up on your bill or you actually need something besides turning on your TV and seeing cable you are in for a hair-pulling, sometimes tear jerking experience. Dear ComCast-Customer Service I would like to tell you about the customer service that I have received. We are 3 weeks into paying for Comcast service, and so far we have experienced: * two fruitless trips to Comcast stores * four technician visits * 1 no-shows * 2 late shows * 12 phone calls * A hole in the wall * A broken soffit vent * A broken DVR * Unable to stream video for more than 10 minutes and we are no closer to having properly functioning internet, a working DVR and damage to our home assessed, much less repairs made. I've invested so much time into your company now it is hard for me to switch to ATT due to the principle that when I pay for a service, I should receive that service. We have made a damage claim. The supervisor did call me and said his repair man would call me no later than Monday to set up an appointment. It is Monday July 14th in the afternoon and I am still waiting for a call. I feel sorry for all the Comcast employees. They seem like nice enough people when I talk with them but no one seems able to provide me with the service they say they can. I have seen ads on TV talking about how Comcast's costumer service has gotten better and I would like to honestly say, no, it is still really bad. It has been a month since I ordered services with them, and I have still not received my DVR box! First they sent it to Philadelphia by mistake (I live in Atlanta). Then they sent a regular cable box that did not have DVR capabilities. Today I called because I have still not received a box, and was told that it was returned to Philadelphia but it would not have mattered because it was a regular cable box, not a DVR as well. If I could I'd give this zero stars. My internet cuts in and out on a regular basis. A scammy salesman at Walmart upsold me on cable telling me only $10 more a momth. When we set it up it was only SD and didn't fill the screen. The bill was going to be over $30 more a month. Took me two hours to cancel and then they told me "I would like to inform you that if you cancel cable and keep only Internet then the charge for Internet will roll over to regular prices." meaning, going back to just internet is now more expensive. We have had 3 routers in 3 months of service. We have gone to this location a few times and mostly people are kind; however, this last time, we told the gentleman that we needed yet another router and before we could even finish explaining he jumps in with his "pitch" and suggest to us that if we upgrade our product we might actually get our internet to work. When I cut in to say that I didn't think it was right for us to have to pay an upgrade fee to have our service work he put his hand up and said "Let me finish what I have to say." Cutting out all the extra, I don't think that when a customer comes in with a problem for an already premium service that the first thing said should be, "oh well if you just give us some more money..." WORST SERVICE I'VE EVER ENCOUNTERED!!! These guys SUCK BIGTIME! AVOID IF YOU HAVE A CHOICE!!! Seriously, it's so ridiculous it's funny - to begin with on my install date they just didn't show up. After a million phone calls and a bunch of frustration turns out some guy called them, posing to be me, and canceled my order!!! I spoke to that guy - he called me claiming to be from "Comcast Direct Sales". Later on I figured why he canceled my order - he wanted to re-instate it under his name and collect the comission!!! not to mention highly illegal, the reps I talked to barely even apologized! not to mention it took them three more days to actually get a rep into my place to install. Now, comes the installer, and guess what! since there's no TV in the house he can't install (good thing they neglected to tell me this BEFORE the appointment, idiots..), so I ask that he installs only the internet - but they forgot to put internet on the work order... so the guy says he cannot install today and I will have to reschedule... at which point I lost it, called customer support and started yelling at them until they finally changed the work order on the spot. Turns out that the ONLY way to get them to do ANYTHING is yell at them! So, everything is fine now, right? WRONG!! now come the bills! I subscribed for a $80/month package, yet every single month I got bills like $120 and $140, full with bogus charges and billing mistakes. I must called customer support 50 times by now (seriously!) to get everything fixed out. (actually, to get the big ticket items fixed.. I gave up on the small charges as it's a waste of my time to keep calling about a $3 charge...) I hate these guys. I wish they go out of business. I am giving Comcast 2 stars only because when I canceled my cable service because it was so horrible, my neighbor witnessed the comcast guy standing in our parking lot, staring at all of the cables running into the building, and then exclaiming, "I can't figure out which one to disconnect-- oh well." I am writing to tell of a personal experience that I had with Comcast, which was related to an attempt to change my service from ATT. For me it was an unpleasant experience but yours may be different. If you do choose to use or change to Comcast, I hope your experience is better than mine. My first issue was that I got a call center that was obviously outside the US. That's a real turn off for me. I want to speak to an American, working in America. Not her fault but the person I spoke with had such a heavy accent that she was difficult to understand. There are lot of unemployed Americans that could use a job now and this American employer has chosen to take those jobs outside the country. My second issue was that part of the promotion was to get a gift card. After going through the whole process I was informed that I had to fill out a form and mail in two months bills in order to get the gift card. I found that marginally deceptive relative to the advertising and secondly, the program was administered by a third party. My experience with such offers is the third party does everything it possibly can not to pay off on the offer. The result of the was that I cancelled the order. Now the address I got from the business search in Yelp, is probably not the address related to the incident. At the same time there was not an address on the website to provide this feedback. Now the collection agency reported my account to the credit agencies and lower my credit score on Aug 31. Also that camp creek office is a zoo. Xfinity in Atlanta is a joke. If you move to town, they expect you to wait a month for installation. I have never heard of such poor service. We have a home business, so I was able to get Business Internet and get installed faster. However, for TV service, we still have to wait over 3 weeks. I agree with others - I would give them zero stars if I could! I don't think I even have time to share everything that is awful about them. The customer service could not be worse. The customer service for each of the 3 services that they want you to "bundle" don't even know that they work for the same company. They have to hand you off multiple times in order to get an answer. I am only with them now because I locked into a cheap rate. However, make sure if you return any equipment with a technician at your home that you get some sort of receipt, because it seems they do not have any way to track their technicians or what they have retrieved from the home; I got charged $80 for a piece that the technician said he could return no problem. Comcast sucks. Their service just doesnt work. Its been 4 days and my internet and cable have been going off and on. When I call I get "itll be working in so and so hours" but it never is. This is all happeneing right at the beginning of football season, for the 2nd year in a row! Its like they cant handle multiple people trying to watch the same thing?? Or maybe the fact that its been raining?? But the main reason most people switch to comcast/xfinity is to not have deal with service disruption when the weather is bad, and yet here I am. This year a rep offered me an amazing deal but I had to sign a two year agreement. I thought "better the devil you know than the devil you don't right?" WRONG. First they "went digital" to improve customer experience and gave your 2 "free" lil converters that gave you access to the Church, BUY-ME, Public Broadcasting, and the federally mandated channels they are required to carry. SURPRISE... wasn't long till a TINY notice on a bill said they would start charging a monthly fee for the useless boxes. Discovered that 9mo later. Now they duped me into their TOP TIER HOME INTERNET with 105 Mbps down. Sounds great for a geek like me.. BUT oops.. tiny lil notice on last months bill.. We have capped you at 300 GB per month and anything over will skyrocket your bill JUST LIKE CELLULAR companies. Cell companies.. I get it.. they have limited capacity. COMCAST however doesn't It is a blatant way to bilk you out of thousands of dollars a year. Not to mention that I was assured before switching that "we don't enforce data limits and will probably drop them altogether" (remember when they were THROTTLING everyone illegally).. this is their switcharoo to be able to both THROTTLE users and BILK them simultaneously. I told Comcast to get their crap outta my house ASAP and also where they can spend eternity. I am hoping a class action lawsuit can be brought against them. The service is the lowest in Atlanta... I entered the building and the place was packed, people waiting around and the staff moving very slowly. I waited in line to receive service! When I got to the counter, the leader of madness, had me type my name into a tablet, then a number was printed... I waited for over 1hr and 18mins before I ended up leaving without getting the equipment I went to pick up..( I just needed a receiver and others things to receive television signal))The customer service personnel is inexperience and very unfriendly!! I generally do not have problems with Comcast. The bill each mont is very high, but we live with that. On Monday, all of my services went down-Telephone, TV and Internet. I was told that they would try to fit me in because all 3 services were affected, but the appointment was for Thursday. I called back on Tuesday to see if anyone would be out before Thursday. You would think that with all the different options consumers have (Apple TV, AT&T Uverse, and Direct TV), Comcast would try a little harder to provide adequate customer service. In the three years I've used Comcast, I have NEVER had a positive experience. Comcast has finally done it. Knocked out all digital TV'S from receiving any TV stations ...from getting any signal....which I used to get 30 plus stations. They are making you buy a box for every TV. This is the final straw for me...holding every digital TV hostage from getting any broadcast period I have been with them for 20 years and every year I go through the following: 1. Dropped internet signals and speeds much slower than advertised 2. Horrible customer service with hold times of 20 minutes plus. You end up finally talking to someone from another country that you cant understand 3. Every year you have to negotiate your pricing....to find out all the new customers coming on board pay less on new pkgs 4. My costs have grown to $300...and that is crazy.... I have had enough... Got the run around... transferred 3 times and spent an hour and half on the phone trying to straighten out the order. Spoke with "Marshall" who said he would have the supervisor call me... guess what? No one ever called. No surprise there! Why do you have it offered online if its not availabe? Have had trouble with internet service for the past 4 months without resolution. Have called and have done an "internet speed check", which magically finds that my internet is working just fine... until I get off the phone with them, at which point the internet goes back to barely functional. I can't even call to complain because the service is so darn slow that the last thing I want to do is wait for another 20 minutes on the phone just to get the problem even addressed. Worst. Internet. If only I had faith in AT&T I would happily switch. If only we had real competition. Comcast internet used to be good -- when it worked properly. Now it has been over three weeks, 12 hours on the phone, 3 visits from tech support and many missed appointments/disregarded tickets, problem still unresolved.
