Avoid this location at all costs! You will get scammed. I parked in the lot adjacent to the building with a HUGE Xfinity sign BUT got a boot put on my car. The parking lot with the HUGE xfinity sign actually belongs to a bank- which was closed at the time BUT had a truck secretly waiting to boot customers cars. I received a boot on my car for being illegally parked. I had to Pay $170 to release my car. There are smaller signs warning you not to park there, but VERY very easy to miss; and the wording is extremely misleading. Also the xfinity tech I talked to before coming there STRONGLY URGED me to come to this particular location, AND not to a location closer to my home. After I paid the boot I went to discuss this with the xfinity employee inside the office and he was rude and basically shrugged it off! I was saying customers should be warned not to park in the lot! He looked at me like i was nuts. I think it's a scam! Xfinity is exploiting its customers and corporate condones this. This is FRAUD!

Unfortunately by the time you see this review, you'll most likely already have gotten yourself a nice little $170 ticket from the guy who booted your car while you were inside of Xfinity for 2 minutes. Welcome to the club. I quickly parked next to the Xfinity building wall because I needed to drop off my wifi box. I immediately noticed the rundown suv I parked next to had a man inside looking over at me, but with windows dark enough that I couldn't make out a face, just movement. I was weirded out but didn't think much of it and that I would be in and out so fast. Walking out of Xfinity after no more and no less than 2 minutes, I got a terrible feeling when started to approach my car (which was behind the beaten up suv). I could see this guy starting at my through his window at this point. Feeling uneasy but not knowing what to do so I kept walking. As I got closer to the back end of his vehicle he threw his door open so fast and started walking towards me - almost as if he was trying to kidnap me. I truly have never been so scared in my entire life. What a horrible human to do that to a small girl in the middle of Chicago, and who is completely by herself. Even if this is your job, you do not handle a situation like that. It was almost as if he enjoyed seeing the terror in my eyes. Shame on this bank and all the people who work there. Shame on Xfinity for not putting up any sort of warnings or signs that say "Do not park here if you are an xfinity customer" because I can guarantee you every person this has happened to is one of their customers. The man who booted my car was unbelievably rude and condescending. I could barely understand him as he mumbled and smelled like marijuana. Oh and not to mention the bank was closed for the evening, and even if they were open there were probably about 100 spots open in case anyone was actually attempting to go into their rundown, crooked establishment. I hope this business fails.

Might as well give them your credit card and let them steal from you directly. Awful network. Endless hidden fees. Disgusting company.

Every time the temperature would suddenly go down - like every day when the sun sets, or any time a cold front would come through - my internet would stop working. Sometimes for minutes, sometimes for hours. I called tech support a dozen time and had three technicians come visit and each one tried something different but nothing solved the issue. Huge packet loss numbers (30+%) and pathetic speeds were my main issues. On the scheduled date of my last technician appointment, he called half an hour after my window started - I didn't answer, as I was in a work meeting at the time (remotely, at home). No message was left, but the technician merrily canceled my appointment. I called their 1-800 number and none of the people I talked to could've cared any less and the next appointment was over a week away. I'm attempting to activate my new service now. It's less expensive than Astound, which is probably a better value assuming this connection actually works most of the time. RCN used to be *GREAT* in Chicago but they have massively changed operations. Astound is worse than Brand X if that's even possible EDIT: I saw their automated response and reached out. No one responded in five days!

The xfinity agent told me their system was not proprietray and it could work with blink cameras. It is proprietary. There are advantages and disadvantages to a plugged in camera. I thought I could get the best of both worlds, but now have to run a separate system for blink. I talked to Omar 10/25. I complained that because they gave me bad info, I have to invest in additional equipment (sync module, echo show, and new router. From what I've been reading on the forums. It doesn't play well with the xfinity router). He told me they weren't charging me for the security equipment or installation so I let it go. I find out today, they actually are and they basically tell me there is nothing they will do. Sso much for their "satisfaction garauntee". Maybe I'll keep it. If I pull it out, I'll let you know how it goes. Just be careful when you talk to these them. I've been getting bad information. They might wonder why I never stick around for their surveys. It's because it sometimes takes a week or so before you find out the customer service agent didn't do what they told you they did. FYI: The system itself works OK for what it's supposed to do. I just wish their people were knowledgable enough to have told me what it was supposed to do instead of telling me what I "wanted to hear".

I hate my current internet and cable company-- Layer3 come to NYC please!! My brother had Layer3 installed one morning while I was visiting. I complained and expected the worst, but it was literally the easiest experience ever. This nice install rep (hi Chris!) came perfectly on time and did the entire setup for us in a few minutes - he was very pleasant and funny. I had no idea what this new cable was, so he spent time explaining and showing us a few pointers to make sure we understood the software. It's like a no contract, no fee, amazing cable company that has even higher quality imaging. Plus virtually unlimited DVR space (Hello binge watching!) Oh and it's less expensive than what I'm paying for UGHHHHH. The Damage: I believe the price is different depending where you are, so worth calling to see. I stuck with them a little longer but the quality of their services quickly deteriorated. I used to consider them the gold standard but i had to switch after a mystery charge appeared on my bill that they couldn't explain to me. I told them i was leaving and they didn't even care. I also refuse to go to Comcast. I noticed an ad for Layer 3 tv online and decided to try it out. Let me preface by stating i have a 1gigabit internet thru the fine folks from RCN who also have excellent customer service. Layer3 TV is an internet based cable solution. Their feed runs thru your internet. and they have 4K. I admit i was skeptical at first but once i switched i have not looked back. The picture quality is amazing and the customer service is outstanding. They are new to the Chicago area so there are a few kinks but you can tell with the technology they use they will become a force. Please keep doing what you are doing I enjoy your services immensely.
