They said I owed money for their equipment. I just moved and needed to cancel my service. IT IS COMPLETELY IMPOSSIBLE to terminate your service online. Then they insist that you schedule a "Callback" where once you answer the phone you are put on hold. DO NOT EVER CALL ME AND PUT ME ON HOLD!!! I wish there was a reliable service where I live because if there were Xfinity would be I distant thought! My husband and canceled our service for 6 months to try a different service but because of our location it didn't work out well so we are back with Xfinity. After getting signed back up I was told repeatedly I had a set bill and it would not change, given my previous experience with Xfinity I should've known better than to believe that. After a few months we realized that we were being terribly over charged for so-called extra data so I called customer service and after 3 different calls about the same issue it got resolved, or so I thought. I was on my last call with customer service when the agent convinced me to get the free mobile line that they offer with the internet service. After rejecting it a handful of times I gave in because I was reassured I would not be billed at any time for any reason for a year of service. I was even told to use a card that I don't have any money on and don't use to show that i would not be charged a dime. So I took the plunge and transferred my line to Xfinity. Tell me why I'm now being charged an activation fee! So I get on the phone with customer service and of course I told them I shouldn't have to pay after being told that I wouldn't have to when I first signed up with them and after speaking with 2 customer service agents it was waived but then of course I now have to pay taxes because they can't waived that. So I was tricked into getting a free service that I now have to pay taxes on. Which makes absolutely no damn sense whatsoever. This is why Xfinity is loosing customers left and right because they can't be trusted! I've been burnt by this company too many times and I can't wait to find one that is reliable and who cares about their customers. read more

I was initially satisfied with Xfinity, but I knew it was too good to be true. First, let's talk about the Xfinity mobile care insurance for your phone--it's completely ineffective. You can expect to wait almost a month for a replacement, which makes getting insurance pointless. You have to keep hounding them to find out when your claim will be approved. Additionally, I visited the store on Kingfisher, and the manager was no help at all. He told me that they don't handle replacements, only upgrades. This is frustrating because a representative I spoke to over the phone had informed me that replacements are indeed provided. So my daughter's phone just stopped working. Usually I have had decent (at least effort was made but it wasn't perfect) service here. Not this time. Today I was lied to twice! When presented with the contract to approve it was not what I was told. I had asked in detail what my cost would be but magically it had changed after waiting for my husband to arrive. My husband was going to ask for me to be primary since they will not give you a phone same day if you are not the account holder. (What I was told, not sure if it is the truth). After that interaction, my husband wasn't going to sit around and be lied to w/o results, so my husband left and this person who cares more about her nails and looks than working had us waiting for a 1/2 hour to get our phone activated. She said something about the line wasn't activated yet. She wandered away and then came back. I thought she was working on the phone during that time. Meanwhile, I had received an email saying it was activated so I'm not sure what the problem was. She said we wouldn't be a able to activate the line. She probably said that b/c the SIM card was missing from the new phone. My guess is she didn't want to take any customers. Heaven forbid work for the pay you earn! I told her we would wait for it at home and left. We were driving away and I asked my daughter to see if the phone was even on. It wasn't! The screen protector wasn't even removed! This person didn't even turn the phone on let alone pull the screen cover off to get the activation process started. I have never had to wait for some email for activation b/c it should be obvious on their end. There was no link to click in the email! I went to Xfinity to make changes to my account. Without an appointment, the wait was about 45 minutes. Once with an agent (really a salesman), I explained that I wanted to 1. remove the home phone, 2. downgrade my streaming services, 3. consider changing to Xfinity mobile. I met with Cody, who I thought was very helpful, but really is only there to sell you items. I did buy a new phone which took a second visit to complete the switch (my fault not his). Here are the issues that I have discovered after leaving the store: 1. He told me that I would receive a gift card to pay off my current phone. The website I was given does not work! Also, when I did find the right website, it required a promotion code. He did not give it to me. It took 2 more calls to Xfinity to find out how to receive my "up to $500 refund." 2. As of 48 hours, my home phone is still active. I made another call to Xfinity and was told he did not complete the process correctly! This was the reason for my visit. 3. I am not sure if he even downgraded my service. I am hoping to see the $150 savings over the next month by making the switch. If not, I will be going to another carrier. Cody put such a bad taste in my mouth. I understand that the store is understaffed, but I did not need to be back on the phone with Xfinity for another hour after spending 5 hours over a two day period in the store. Although the store wait was long, I was satisfied with the results. I was able get a white Access point, that had 4 Ethernet ports. To get the fastest speed you need wired Ethernet. Measure how far your devices are order and Cat 8 cables from Amazon. If you only have wireless devices your speed will still be very good. Position the Access as to a suitable widow. In my area which is north east sittings as high as possible. I'm getting 1 GB speed on Ethernet and have half on wireless. Regardless all devices which I have 9 get excellent speed and my bill is $70 per month. You don't really need broadcast TV or home phone assuming you have cell phone. The key is to use the Ethernet ports on the back of the white box. Get your fastest computer and TV's connected to Ethernet ports. I'm very happy with the speed. I tried AT&T home fiber it was 8 times slower and 3 boxes from them were defective. Verizon home fiber could be a little better only if it's available in your area. Otherwise Xfinity rules. read more

Full service Xfinity Comcast digital media service provider. Despite contrary opinions, overall pleasantly suprised and huge improvment over the Comcast store that was located in downtown Frederick way back when.. As the primary cable company in Frederick Maryland and surroundin areas, likely Maryland as a whole, except for areas with fiber coverage, Xfinity aka Comcast is the only game in town. No doubt the company has heard the negative comments online and customers unhappy with the service, price, customer service. As the saying goes if you cant beat em join em.. And in this case joining up with Comcast its possible to have a pleasant mutually beneficial agreement for service, if your an informed consumer that can articulate what youre looking for and avoid the cookie cutter packages so often bloated with stuff no one needs.. Todays visit was to retrieve a new 1Gb modem router, the one with WIFI built in and rents at $14 per month. In effort to get the fastest speeds and best quality signal compatibility with the network Comcast has pushed out the Motorola Surfboard crowd and basically you need the proprietary equipment if you want the 1 Gig top speed service. Even though 1 Gig is a fantasy the propriatory device XB7 aka TECHNICOLOR CGM4331COM provided 87Mbps down and 37Mbps up which aint too shabby. Further if youre in the market for mobile device and entertainment the Xfinity store provides those services as well. The biggest change noted was the transformation of the former stuffy Cable TV store with the bank teller windows to a more open a la trendy mobile phone style which was most refreshing. And there were minimal crowds during the visit which is rare commodity as it took a few to get called off the waiting list that is taken resturant style when you come in the door. If it was crowded the associates would def need to pick up the pace. Also noted was Comcast is tossing in free 4k Streaming device with Internet service. They figured out that not everyone wants 200 channels with nothing on them. Ordered the "Flex" streaming device post visit but it appears the store would have handed it out with the new modem had it been requested. Overall Comcast has upped the game. New Customers get the best deals and experienced customers know how to renew service to take advantage of special offers. Its not the best internet out there but its getting closer and once youre in the matrix its good as it gets. Oh and interesting news, customer support is South Pacific Island based in Phillipines. Phone reps are ~ time zone 12 hours and day ahead. The service advisors, aka store employees ignore emails even though their card has the email address listed but no direct phone.. Hmmm... Fredericktonians are Comcast customers for one reason only: Lack of alternatives. Thankfully, we're close to a shift where wireless internet services such as Starlink and T-Mobile Home Internet will be more widely available at more competitive costs. Comcast will probably start cutting their prices then, but I for one will remember them dicking me over in the here and now, and will never give them my money again from the moment the opportunity presents itself. Be prepared to fight and yell to cut a reasonable deal once your new customer deal expires. Bar none the worst company in America. Edit: I held this back before because I hadn't confirmed that it was accurate yet, but when I advised I would like to switch over to Comcast Business service to take advantage of the 39.99/mo deal for 50 megabit internet, the employee I was talking to straight up lied to me. She said it wasn't available at residential addresses. I fired back "Yeah it is. What if I have a home business?" To which she advised that I would need to show some form of documentation of an LLC. Well, I very quickly found out upon speaking with a Comcast Business sales rep that business internet IS available to residential addresses and you do not have to have any kind of registered business to qualify. So... Xfinity refusing to offer you any deals? Give Comcast Business a call. Sure, it's still Comcast, but they'll probably treat you better. I have been with Comcast/Xfinity for over 30 years. Last month I visited the store on Kingfisher Drive, to have my cable/internet payments taken out of my checking account. I was assured that payments would be taken out on the 1st of every month. This month I did not see any activity on my checking acct but realize sometimes it takes days to post. On Oct 7, 2024 I received an e-mail saying I was charged 2 late fees , total of $50. I went back to the store as I did not want to speak to someone in India with a thick accent that I cannot understand. The woman at Xfinity got on her computer and could not find anything. I had already contacted my bank who said nothing was posted from them on my account and thay Xfinity must have gotten the number wrong. I advised the woman that they copied information from my check and got the numbers wrong. The employee stated your checking is blocked by Xfinity and I now have to pay with cash or a credit card. I said it is not fair that I am being punished for Xfinity's mistake. She said there is nothing she can do. After 30 years I am finally fed up with Xfinity. I am looking for another company as fast as I can. read more

I have spent over 10 hours on the phone in the last 2 days because I cannot make calls from my phone. No-one on the phone could solve the issue. I was told to go to this store in Frederick so they can change the SIM card so I don't have to wait for another one in the mail. I got there and the guy in the front changed the SIM card but could not resolve the issue so he had me wait 30 minutes for a tech person. Because it was 7pm that woman who was supposed to fix my phone said my husband is the only one on the account and she could not help me. My son was with me and I could not think straight after waiting 30 minutes and wasting so much time on the phone. I was livid and could not believe the cruelty. In retrospect, I could have signed into my account on my phone right there and added myself to the account. But this girl and Xfinty have been so horrible I could only think of switching back to Verizon. No one on the phone or the first guy who helped me knew about this so called policy? Very convenient policy to get out of helping people when it is closing time. I signed into my account the next day to add myself and there is no option to do that. What I discovered is that I am already on the account. My phone number, which I have had for almost almost 20 years (before I got married) is still listed as mine so saying I'm not on the account is a lie. Furthermore, it is my credit card, in my name, that pays the bill so you cannot tell me I am not on the account. I am the one who switched from Verizon to Xifinity and not my husband. Time is money and I spent two day on the phone with Xfinity trying to figure out why I could not make phone calls. They sent me to this Frederick shop to get. new SIM card which was done but I still could not make calls. So this woman refusing to assist me was extremely upsetting. she either did not know how to or she wanted to go home and used some BS nonsense about me not being on the account. read more

The associate and the manager who handled my situation both did not fulfill what they said they were going to do. This is even after repeated phone calls to follow up. A month later I came back into the store to seek assistance and store unable to get my situation completed. I can only come to the conclusion that this is a company/store is not reputable or honest in their business dealings. Please be careful in doing business with this company/store. I called the Comcast hotline, because it's impossible to connect directly with any of the stores. My fiancé and I were looking for the wifi extender (1pk). We spent an hour on the phone with someone, & he explained that there have been none in stock for MONTHS, but that this specific location was getting some in a shipment, and he would make me an appt. to go get one. I even called the hotline again to verify on the day of my appt. I get to the store, the greeter at the front warned me that what I was told, was a complete lie. None in store, at all. No shipment coming, just a complete bogus lie. He did say I could order one from the store though, so I waited my turn in the queue. Here's where I have a problem...this is the second time I've come to the store based on misinformation given to me from the Comcast hotline, just to be greeted by the complete OPPOSITE information in the Comcast store. Not only that, the representative is always a jerk. It was the same guy both times. (The guy who is all the way in the back right corner station, I think he has twists or dreads?) I was very polite to him. But both times he's helped me, I've left the store wanting to cancel Comcast all together. After going back and forth for a few minutes, I asked him "So where do you think is the disconnect between your store and the HQ? Could you check and see who made my appointment? I know it's not your fault but it takes 35 minutes for me to get here and I've done this TWICE, just for you to tell me that I've been misinformed. When are you guys going to fix this?" He said "No that actually has nothing to do with us, whatever information Comcast told you is not our problem. The headquarters is separate from the store. They need to train their people better. There's nothing I can do, I can't see who made your appt. or anything." Which if all of that is true, fine, I get it. But the attitude, it's not necessary. I am giving this visit 3 stars instead of 1 because I had a very nice visit today. Usually I leave this store close to tears. No fuss, no upselling, or bull crap bundle offers for services I don't need. (Because they already have me in a bundle for that) I walked in, asked for a remote and with no questions the gal at the greeting desk handed it to me and I was gone. Less than two minutes in the store. I would love to get a cable/internet package that really met my needs and not the needs of Comcast/Xfinity.
